Enjoyable Gluten-Free Meals for Everyone

istock_000015515250xsmallThinking that gluten-free diets are bland is a common misconception. What many people ignore is that culinary preparations lacking gluten are actually quite fresh and tasty, so much that even people with no dietary restrictions crave them. Fortunately, nowadays there are multiple options to face the gluten-free challenge in a tasteful way.

To start with, rich ingredients like honey, oils, butter, wine, salt, and spices do not contain gluten. Likewise, dairy products, meat, poultry, fish vegetables, fruits, and berries are also gluten-free. This means there is a lot of healthy and flavorful food to work with when planning easy delicious meals for persons with celiac disease.
Snacks, salads, dressings, soups, bread, cakes and seasonal dishes are some of the categories in which the whole family can devote their creativity in order to cook mouthwatering recipes. How about a sweet potato casserole, a dish of quinoa with roasted almonds and dried cranberries or an artichoke soup?

There are also uncomplicated options for meat lovers. Ginger flank steak, penne with meatballs, pork roast with mushrooms and chicken hot pot are some of them. You can even plan a gluten-free pizza party with family and friends. In addition, there are plenty of lighter alternatives to choose from like baked halibut with asparagus, lentils with bacon and spinach and grilled chicken quesadillas.

In addition, people with gluten intolerance can bake luscious goods using alternative flours like tapioca, millet or rice flours. This means gluten is not a problem when baking classics like pumpkin pie, strawberry shortcake or even Toll House cookies that can be quickly baked right off the package with a simple substitution of gluten-free flour and an addition of xanthan gum or guar gum.
