FitBloggin’ Conference May 20 – 21, 2011

I have just returned from the FitBloggin’ Conference that was held May 20 – 21, 2011 in downtown Baltimore, MD at the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront hotel. The FitBloggin’ Conference is for people who blog about fitness, wellness, good food and a healthy lifestyle. According to their website, “the stated goal of FitBloggin’ is to bring together the community of health-conscious bloggers for education, networking and friendship”.

I was at the FitBloggin’ Conference on behalf of our sponsor Eggland’s Best. I started the day by leading a Lower Body Blast class on Friday morning and then spent the rest of time talking to and meeting many of the Fitness bloggers.

_mg_3867This was my first time attending this event and not knowing what to expect I was surprised and excited to see so many Cathletes attending. I truly enjoyed meeting and chatting with each of them and look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

My purpose at the FitBloggin’ Conference was to educate and remind people of the benefits of an all natural food like Eggland’s Best eggs and how this super food should be part of everyone’s daily fitness, health and nutrition program.

With my extensive background in fitness, I firmly believe and advocate that one of the best reasons to add eggs to your diet is to feed your muscles. Protein is the foundation and building block for muscle development and muscle repair. It works to restore other parts of the body as well. Eggs are a lean source of protein and just one egg supplies about 10% of the protein needed daily. Eggs are also very economical, convenient, and an easy-to-prepare source of high-quality protein. Adding more eggs to your diet can even help to make your hair shiny and your nails grow longer and thicker since eyelashes, hair and nails are made up of mostly protein cells.

I especially love Eggland’s Best Eggs for all of these reasons and way more. Did you know Eggland’s Best Eggs are the number one egg in America? They have 25% lessimg_39681saturated fat (for a happy heart), 10 times more vitamin E, (to heal and restore the appearance of skin), and three times more vitamin B12 (a great source of energy) than ordinary eggs. Eggland’s Best Eggs also have more vitamin D, which is great for bone health, especially for women over 40. Because they contain many nutrients that help stabilize glucose levels, they are also great for those who are diabetic.
Here are some suggestions to make Eggland’s Best Eggs a healthier part of your daily diet: 1) Substitute a couple of eggs in the morning for the bowl of cereal or high carbohydrate meal you might usually have 2) Try eating a hardboiled egg on your salad in place of a couple of slices of bread along with it. You will definitely see your body looking leaner as over time, you will notice significant fat loss. 3) Take the challenge and try eating eggs for a few weeks in place of some the processed foods your eating now. 4) Try Eggland’s Best ‘hard boiled’ eggs in their convenient ready-to-go bag for an easy quick easy snack on the go and make note of how your body changes for the better.

Eggland’s Best Eggs come from all-natural, grain-fed chickens. Their philosophy is that the better the chickens are fed, the better the eggs. The chickens are given the best vitamin-rich, all-natural food possible. Therefore, their eggs are simply better than the rest. They are higher in nutritional value, as well as taste. Rest assured you are feeding your body with one of nature’s finest products when you feed it an Eggland’s egg.

From a fitness stand point, most fitness trainers, like myself, swear by the egg. We recommend them to almost everyone, no matter what their fitness level is. They are easily absorbed by the body and do not sit heavily on the stomach like a lot of meats do. Some proteins take a while to digest which can make you feel a bit sluggish. This is not the case with eggs. In fact, the B vitamins they contain actually give you energy. Use eggs as a recovery meal after hitting the gym. This will help feed muscles and support all of the hard work you just did. They also help fill you up and keep you going longer and stronger.
