I started out in July of 2002, after having my last of 3 boys in September of 2001, with all the weight of each pregnancy, if not more, still on.In 2003 I was turning 40 which I wasn’t looking forward to, and the fact that my size 18 pants were getting too tight was enough to change my lifestyle right then and there. My first change was my diet. I started Weight Watchers, the at-home version. Next was the exercise. I hadn’t exercised since well before my first pregnancy. I had a Step that I used to love after I first go married. I dragged it out and started with some VERY beginner workout tapes. I started very slowly and hardly lasted 20 minutes each time, but I did perservere and worked my way up to 45 minutes – 60 minutes a workout, 3-4 times a week.
I did lose 80% of the weight by my 40th birthday in May of 2003. I continued Weight Watchers and exercising at home, and by October of 2003, I had lost 95 lbs and reached my goal! Now came the challenge of maintaining it.
I’d been consistantly working out for an average of 45-60 minutes, 5-6 days a week. At this point, I was making healthier food choices, enjoying cooking healthy and used to smaller portions.
In 2005, still maintaining, I felt like I needed a push, a challenge. I searched online for new Step workouts (step being my favorite cardio). And that’s where I found Cathe! A fitness friend had been doing her workouts and thought that I’d like her, as well. My first DVD was “Low Impact Step“, and I was hooked! I continued to obtain Cathe’s workouts, and on each and every one , felt challenged and happy! I gained strength, and definition, and LOVED to work out to the point of ‘addiction’. To working out and to Cathe.
Cathe has become my ‘habit’ along with eating healthy. I WANT to work out every day. I want to be challenged. I want to work my body in new and different ways.
With the help of Cathe and lifelong new habits, I have maintained my weight loss and dedication to my health for 6 years and see no end in sight!
