I reached a breaking point with my weight in January 2008. With another new year upon me, I decided I needed to step on the dreaded scale. I knew my weight had gotten out of control, but I was alarmed to see the numbers 283 flashing up at me. I’d had enough. I got online and started finding resources to help me lose weight. I began to track my food. I knew if I wanted to lose weight I needed to exercise, but exercise had never been a big part of my life. I would join a gym occasionally, but I would get bored and stop going after a while. I knew a friend who worked out at home and loved it, so I looked into fitness DVDs. I did one and I was hooked! Well, actually I was red-faced and sweaty, but I knew right away this was going to do more for me than the treadmill ever did.
After working out at home for about 6 months, my fitness level had improved by leaps and bounds and I was ready for a new challenge.
Some of the online forums I chatted in had mentioned Cathe. I looked her up and in all honesty, I was intimidated! I wasn’t sure I was ready for her. But by a stroke of luck, we changed satellite TV providers, and I discovered she had some workouts on FiTV. I recorded them and took the plunge. WOW! I had been doing step for a while but no one does step like Cathe! Not to mention weight training! The workouts were addicting. I couldn’t get enough, even though I had to march in place or pause the TV to catch my breath (I’m proud to report that these days I can keep up!).
Cathe’s workouts are different from anything I’ve ever done. I don’t get bored with them. They build up my endurance. They challenge me to take it to the next level again and again. In short, they are exactly what I need! I’m happy to report that I’ve lost 106 pounds! I’m hoping to lose a bit more, but I’m not overly focused on the scale. I like feeling muscles where there used to be flab. I like the way my clothes fit. And that’s more important than any number on the scale. I’ve gone from a size 24 to a size 10. I love to exercise, and I never thought I would say that. Thank you Cathe!
