Fit Snacks: Healthy No-Bake Protein Bars

Fit Snacks: Healthy No-Bake Protein BarsTrue fitness enthusiasts know that a person is committed when he or she starts making his or her own fitness snacks. A true enthusiast wants to know what goes into his or her body to maximize any gain he or she could have. It can also be cheaper in the long run.

Protein bars are a great way to help you gain muscle. Unfortunately, not everyone has an oven to help them make their own bars. Here is a quick, easy, and tasty recipe that doesn’t involve an oven. Eating these no-bake protein bars will help you gain muscle whenever you work out.

You’re going to need the following:

• Three tablespoons of water

• 1 and a half cups of chocolate whey protein powder

• 3 tablespoons of honey

• A cup of peanut butter

• A cup of uncooked oats

Preparing the Protein Bars

Now all that’s left is putting these tasty ingredients together. Start with the peanut butter and honey. Mix them together in a bowl. If you want, you can use your hands to make sure that the mix is thorough – just be sure to wash your hands first. Put the bowl mix into the microwave and heat it for thirty seconds.

Once that’s done, bring it out from the microwave and add all the other ingredients. Mix them together. The resulting mixture should be both crumbly and moist. Add water slowly to make sure that it doesn’t get too soggy. Bring out a 9×9 tray and pack your mixture in it as tight as you can. Leave it in the freezer for twenty minutes to let it harden. At this point, you can cut it into as many pieces as you want, but this recipe is designed for twelve pieces.

Further Preparation

The recipe is open to personalization. The honey is there to taste, so you can add or remove as much honey as you prefer. You may also want to consider adding unsweetened cocoa to taste. Chocolate isn’t for everyone, but it’s just flavor anyway. Vanilla flavored whey powder works just as well.

These no-bake protein bars make for the perfect snack before or after a hard workout – and they don’t even require an oven.
