what does everyone "do?"

RE: what does everyone

I am a stay-at-home Mom to two little boys (5 & 2). I'm still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up (or I guess when they are a little older). I'm considering becoming an Episcopal priest.

I'm a SAHM for my 3 kids. I started keeping teacher's kids 6 years ago so I could stay at home with my kids during summer months and school holidays. Don't know if I could ever go back to the "real world" LOL

There are some pretty interesting occupations on this board! I think I need a change of field after reading all of these!

RE: what does everyone

Hi all! I'm a new RN at age 41, just finishing orientation in my first job in cardiovascular recovery! Also a wife of 19 years and mom to 2 fabulous daughters (ages 12 and 16).

I STILL cannot believe all the great "occupations" and, by NO means am I excluding SAHM's because you all deserve so much credit. I could never do it. Again, thanks everyone for participating with this post.

Wow, MCunningham! I am so impressed! What languages do you speak? One of my regrets is that I never seriously learned any other languages when I was younger and have been trying to learn Korean and Spanish in my later years. I would LOVE to be at least bilingual but it's so much more difficult when one is older.

Many studies have been done proving that simultaneous language learners (those who learn to speak two or more languages when learning to speak) as opposed to late-onset language learners have an easier time. SLL's also create different neural pathways that can be tapped later on to make it easier to learn other languages later in life. My neice is completely bilingual and when she was younger, she had no idea that she was speaking two different languages. She would flow so easily between both. The whole study of language acquisition is fascinating.

I love your icon, DebbieH. And you look awesome for someone who's been married 35 years! Heck, you look awesome, period. You're like the poster mom for what fitness can do!

I'm an Open Heart/Trauma ICU nurse but I'm getting my brain up and running to go back to school for Nurse Anesthetist.

RE: what does everyone

I am currently a SAHM with a *very* part time position as a baby sitting attendant at my gym. I just received my physical training cert from AFPA though so I am preparing to look for a new job.... :)

RE: what does everyone

Great,

What school are you planning on going to? Optometry is great, especially if you want to work part time! Good luck,

Ann Marie
