Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for May 2023

Jolie, nice work with Wicked Upper Body live yesterday. Great addition to today's Hill walk and Power Hour Biceps. Those segments on Power Hour seem crazy long. That was nice of your husband to get those tickets and you had such a wonderful time. We are celebrating Mother's Day Sunday when we also do 3 of the family birthdays. I need to get things together for that.

Belinda, nice work on the hour barre workout. I hope they can figure out how to get you off the prednisone and it takes care of the problem. Nice work on getting a nice walk in today as well.

Cam, nice workout with Penny Killer Legs.

Roselyn, good job getting Legs in today. Key West sounds like it will be a fun vacation. I think most of the time paid subscriptions can be put on hold.

Hi,

Sorry for not checking in yesterday. I had a lot of calls to make to schedule appointments.

Diane - great workout yesterday. I like the looks of the stretch you did. thanks for posting the link. Thank you. I had a CT scan done that my Rheum ordered to rule out RP with all the problems I have. This one wasn't a coronary CT scan, it did said possible PH with the enlarged artery. It also showed plaque in my arteries. I started taking the statin. Monday I have coronary CT scan scheduled and get a Echocardiogram to check my arteries on June 8. I pray that those tests come back negative. I see Rheum on Wednesday. I don't know if he wants to switch my meds with everything that is going on. I sure, don't need another flair up.

Not sure what I will do today? Maybe a weight workout and a walk? BBL

Hi everyone. Just wanted to update. My blood pressure was down this weekend but Monday morning it started going up a bit. Now I'm in the 150/85 range. I have an appointment with a cardiologist on Thursday morning and I think they are going to take some blood and do an echo maybe? Not sure. I'm telling you, this doctor crap is for the birds. Belinda, I feel so sorry for you with all the tests you have been through. Just frustrated with our health care system in this country. I mean, we are lucky compared to other countries, but to be able to make an appointment with the doctor you want is almost impossible anymore. Now I have to see a different cardiologist than I saw back in September. Ridiculous.

Anyways, I walked on my treadmill for a bit this morning. I'm sick of not working out but I really don't feel like doing much. I walked for 30 minutes, burned 232 calories, went 1.5 miles, did 3448 steps and my HR was 123/143.

The weird thing about all this is my heart rate has been steady, no issues with it erratically beating or anything. It's just my blood pressure that isn't stable yet.

Jolie - Nice job on Power Hour biceps. That workout is hard!! I love it though. I'm sure your feeling it today. My Mother's Day was good, we spent it with my mom and she is been doing good. We had a nice time with her. That is awesome about the Equestrian Grand Prix, sounds awesome!

Roselyn - You are right, it is stressful with out parents. I wish my mom would go into assisted living or something but cost is just so unbelievable. I don't know how we could pay for it. There are places that Medicare will pay for and when we feel she can't stay alone, we will make that decision. Luckily, I have a friend who has worked at a nursing home here whole entire working career and she is a wealth of information. She already told me she'd help with whatever we needed.

Diane - That is scary about not being able to access your bank account. I sure hope that is resolved.

Belinda - Hope you are doing well. This doctor crap is for the birds. I just want to go back to normal and hopefully will soon. I hate feeling this way. :(

Hi to everyone else!! Hope you all have a great day!

I also did Strong & Sweaty Giant Sets.

Debbie - thank you! I am so sorry you are going through so much too and worrying about your mom. My cardiologist ordered a blood test before I saw him. Make sure you drink lots of water before you take the blood test and don't eat anything. I was dehydrated, so my kidney numbers were high. The cardiologist called me and went over my blood tests. I actually had one before I saw the doctor and one after. Both din't look great. Anyway, he ensured me I was ok except my LDL was high again, WTH? I started taking the statin, I will see if the # will go down. Plus, once I have the CT scan on Monday, it should shed some light to the PH (pulmonary hypertension). I am worried for the contrast since it's iodine. I have hyperthyroidism and take meds for it daily. If it's not one thing, it's another. Up until know, I kept my cool. I am not going to lie, I am stressed out over possible having PH and my arteries have plaque. Stress isn't good at all. I thought I was done last week, it seems like if they find something with the CT scan and echocardiogram there will be more testing. I sent an email to Penn Uni. I hear you on going back to normal. I also hate feeling like this. We need a break.

I will try to be back later.

Belinda hope you are doing well

Debbie my mom is in an independent apratment I now what you mean the whole sale of her house only gives her 5 years my husband mom is in assisted living and even though she had insurance for extended care she still pay 2000 a month very scary

Today was back and bis

Yesterday I worked later, so didn't get to my workout until 7. I did CDorner Step & Strength w/Upper Body Intervals. I really liked this. The music was fun and the time flew. Then we took a 1.5 mile walk with the dog.

Today I did Cathe Strong & Sweaty Boot Camp w/Bonus Abs. I haven't done this in a long long time. I liked it. I did modify some jumping on the step, but one thing I know, is that I am much stronger than pre-surgery. My weights are heavier now and the core section used to be difficult to complete and I would cut it short. It's still challenging, but today I did it all.

Yes, the cost of AL is unbelievable. My mom pays anywhere from $7,500 to $9,000+ per month. It depends on what her care is. Everything is ala cart. Just her little suite is $6,900 /mo. And this is the Midwest! I have to keep my eye on them. They overcharge often. The care sucks and she pays for services she doesn't receive due to lack of staff. I have had it out with them many times. I make sure her bill is right. Funny thing, they don't list her services on her bill. Its one lump sum. I had to beg for an itemized bill. They don't want you to know that. Ugh!!! I could go on about my displeasure with that place, but I won't because it angers me. She has been there 4 yrs. I swear she has exceeded her 9 lives. Hopefully she won't outlive her money. She has been on hospice care sine since January. They are awesome! But my mom is starting to walk again, so next month its back to the crap ass facility care. Thankfully, she is independent and has her mind. My stress level wil be up there, though.

Belinda, we had Strong & Sweaty on our minds today.

Today I did CDorner Step and Weights toned arms and step intervals, 40 minutes, heart rate 136/161,2,190 steps. This does 3 minutes step and 3 minutes strength intervals that include shoulders, biceps, and triceps. I used 10 and 8 lb and dropped to 5# on the shoulder segment in the last interval where she did the iso holds from all of the moves. I thought I would do some of the Cardio Hiit 80's Rock, but it was too much for my knees when she got to the lunge switch kick. This was 6 minutes, 26 calories, 493 steps, heart rate 106/129. I finished with Balance and Mobility from today, 33 minutes, 53 calories, heart rate 78/98. Total time was 79 minutes, 301 calories, 2,775 steps. I also rolled out my shoulders and scap and delt areas. They are sore. No workout tomorrow as I have my arthritis appointment and that usually takes up quite a bit of time with distance and the usual lab stuff.

Belinda, it seems like treating one thing makes it a problem with treating another. Praying those tests come back negative for you. I have a lung scan again in July I think. That all started with a heart scan and findings. Then I got the cardiologist too. Too many doctors.

Debbie, I always worry that if I go to the doctor for something it is going to result in more visits and testing. It used to be that I just went to one doctor, not a bunch of different ones. It confuses things. My doctor called and wanted me to come in again in a month or so and get my blood count done again. I told her I would probably be getting it at the arthritis center tomorrow. I checked my past readings, and my white count has always been low on the readings, but I guess no one was worried. We are lucky that we still have doctors as I have seen quite a few that retired. I hope things get better and you can get some relief from all of the stress. I bet that is all not helping you at all. The guy the bank had call me walked through everything with me using the same web browser to see what I was seeing. He finally was able to walk me through to get it fixed. My security word was missing, and we had to go through some things to get it back. It was a mess.

Cam, you must have done the CDorner that I did today. She has 80's music theme this week.. The Hiit I checked out had good music too. That cost for your mother seems like way to much. It really makes me mad that our country does not take better care of their own. I had a friend that passed away a year ago that had put herself in a nursing home. She shared a space with two other women. I have no clue what it cost though. That sounds like way too much money for the space. I remember you mentioning it before.

Yesterday was a rest day, I was sore and tired and needed to just walk my dogs. I forget that I burn an additional 300 to 500 calories per day walking the dogs 2 times per day on top of my workouts. I think I may cut back on the TM walking a bit since I am getting in at least 2 miles before I get on the treadmill. Today's workout was AWESOME! I did CL # 328 Upper Body Shred from 12/30/2020 and it is only Cathe doing the workout do to Covid Lockdowns. This workout is higher reps and with no rests and it gets the heart rate up. Workout was 56 minutes, I had to write the whole thing down, and I burned 442 calories. There are 1.5's mixed into the workout so I had to go lighter weights on some exercises. I skipped pushups and just did Chest Presses instead and I still had a great chest workout. There are 47 exercises so I am not going to type the workout out, it will take forever! I suggest you all try this workout whenever you sign up for Cathe Live again. I started my day with a dog walk through the hills, 1.7 miles and I burned 298 calories. Total calories burned this morning was 740.

Debbie, bummer about getting the doctor's appointment and having to get a different doctor. I swear, I have to fix all of my own health issues myself, my doctors cannot even figure out how to solve the problems, they do not even try to investigate and come back to me with a solution. After 10 months of this collarbone issue, it is about 98 percent gone and it is because of me working on it every single day and doing my own homework regarding the issue. Keep us posted on how the appointment goes and stay positive.

Diane Sue, great job on the workouts lately, you are doing great! I have had allergies so bad this year it makes working out difficult, my nose is running and so are my eyes. All of this rain this year has kicked them up big time. I hope you enjoy your Mother's Day this weekend with your family.

Roselyn, great job on the workout.

Cam, I cannot believe how expensive senior care is!!!! My parents have long term care insurance so they can stay in their house and get the care they need before ever going to a facility, thank God!!! Great job on your workouts the past few days, you are killing it!

Belinda, I hope all is going well for you with your doctors appointments.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hi,

I took a walk this morning.

Diane - thank you for your prayers! I need them. I hope I have a negative outcome. I talked to the cardiologist today, he will go over the results with me on Monday. I am a nerves rack right now. I am sorry you have so many appointments lined up too. I pray yours have a negative outcome too. I am sorry about your bank. Glad you got it all figured out.

Julie - thank you! Great job today.

Debbie - I hope you doing well today.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

Today I did CDorner 80s Rock 30 min. No Repeat Cardio HIIT. It went quick.I probably will take a couple days off. The front of my right shoulder is a little achey, so I think I should avoid weights and rest it for a couple days.

Time to walk the dog. I might have to wear a hat tonight. It's chilly!

No workout today at all. I had thought that I might come home and do a workout, but I have been dragging. I went to bed late and woke around 5 am and could not go back to sleep. I went to my appointment that took me an hour and 10 minutes to get there and it was crowded. I had to stand in line to check in, stand in line to turn my papers I filled out in, stand in line to make another appointment and set up to get blood work. The report is not in yet, but they usually have the results up pretty quickly. He gave me a steroid injection and said if it is the arthritis I should feel a lot less pain. If not, we will have to think on changing meds and doing some x rays and maybe mri to see what is going on as it may be degenerative. So, I hope it helps. He said we may need to change meds or he give me something along with the hydroxychloraquine, which I explained I only take 1 at bedtime and in the morning it makes me sick and I nearly passed out several times when I went to work out.
I will get in a workout tomorrow though.

Jolie, I remember Cathe doing a workout by herself when I had live during the pandemic. Also, I remember the one with her and a couple of the other ladies wearing masks as part of their halloween workout costume which was rather clever. I don't think that I could stand wearing a mask while working out. As it is it usually always had me with my nose running and coughing and sneezing when I had to wear it to PT. It was miserable.
I prayed God would give me wisdom on figuring out what to do and they have let up with LE Optimized Quercetin and Dr Best Proteolytic Enzymes. I have been outside working in the yard most days and I am doing well. I started getting better when I was almost done with the second bottle of enzymes I am just starting number 4. Usually, the rain helps wash some of the pollen out of the air, only it is temporary and is back full force when things dry out.
Thanks on the mother's day this weekend. My son in law asked if the guys could take care of and plan the dinner. So, I am out of the cooking :D

Belinda, I find it hard trying to make sure the doctors have all of the information. I don't know how much they share. I let my arthritis doctor know about my bone density test and asked him about safety of calcium. He laughed and said it is okay to take calcium. I have read so many things saying it can build up plaque in the arteries. I told him I space the capsules out through the day. My doctor wants me to send her the blood work report. It will save me going in and getting it done again right away. I need to call and set up the field vision test. I told them I would do it near me, as I have an eye doctor that can do it for me and send it in.

Cam did you like the 80's Hiit workout. I was going to go back and look at more of it. It is probably a good idea to rest the shoulder a bit. It was beautiful outside today so when I came home I trimmed off dead roses and did some outside work.

Roselyn, nice work on Chest and Shoulders today.

Hi,

Today I walked outside. I will do some stretching/yoga later.

Roselyn - great job on your workout yesterday. Enjoy your vacation at the Key West.

Diane - I always make sure the doc have all the info, especially since I am on so many medications. All my doctors share/get the same info. They all know what's going on. I do go over the results and have them explain it to me. It sounds like you have things under control with your doctors. Glad your appointment went well.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

Today I walked outside instead of on my TM, I was dying to get outside and get some fresh air even though it is foggy out today. I walked in the hills for 1 hour 17 minutes, traveled 4.1 miles and burned 742 calories.

Great job on the workouts yesterday to all that was able to do them right now. I hope you all get good news from your doctors regarding health issues and are back at your workouts soon.

Have a wonderful day.

Good Evening,

Still have my days I don’t workout but I did finish LiiFT 4 this week. We have been busy with the grandkids track meets, soccer games and now baseball season. I attended another makeup round robin in Kansas City and came home with 380.00 worth of product a total of 7 items.

Debbie-I hear you on the doctor situation I need a refill on my medication from the cardiologist but they won’t refill it until I see her again and the soonest I can see her is June 21st. I am ok until I get in the Heat then my heart rate shoots up over a hundred and when it comes down I feel awful, I truly believe it is a connected to the Covid shots I had.

No workout today. I woke up sick so spent most of my day lying down and napping. Hopefully things are good tomorrow. No fever, but dizziness and nausea.

Diane - sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better today.

Roselyn - safe travels today! Enjoy your vacation.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give an update. I am doing much better. I went to the cardiologist yesterday and he didn't even see a need to run anymore tests. He changed my BP med (I asked my physician and she refused) and I'm already feeling better. The ones I was taking had many side-effects and I was experiencing almost all of them after she raised the dosage. So I'm feeling human again and hopefully will get a workout in on Monday. I have to be in to work early so I probably will only get a half hour, but I need to start back slowly anyways.

My mom had her follow up with her physician and she is doing ok but has no energy. Now her BP is really low. Yikes. He adjusted her meds and hopefully she will get more energy soon. So sad to see her so fragile.

Diane - I hope you are feeling better today, what do you suppose you had? I hope it's gone today!!

Have a great weekend everyone!! Great job on your workouts!

Debbie - glad you saw the cardiologist and feeling much better. Some meds have a lot of side effects. Hope your mom is feeling better soon too. Sorry she is so fragile :( Hopefully I get some good news from my cardiologist too. Have a wonderful weekend.
