Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for May 2023

No workout today, I am working late tonight and just didn't feel like getting up early. I may skip tomorrow's workout as well. I need for this knot to go away anyways. Hope you all have great workouts!!

Happy Birthday Belinda- Hope you have an enjoyable day.

This morning I did my first outside workout for the summer. I enjoy it when its finally light enough and warm enough in the mornings to workout outside. The dog sniffs the yard and when he gets bored come back and lays down on the edge of my deck until I'm done.

I did RWH Lift it Hit It Legs this morning. Again - lots of modifications for the cardio bursts in-between the lifting. But still got a good workout.

I did Tracy Decending Lower Body Ladder. 10 leg exercises, starting with 10 reps each move, repeat doing 9 reps, than 8, etc...finishing with 1 rep each exercise. It was a different workout, but I liked it. There really wasn't much rest. It kept moving. She really gets creative with workouts. Lots of different formats in her library. I may try Decending Upper Body next week. I also took a 1.75 mile walk at lunch. It was a gorgeous day. DH is walking the dog by himself tonight. I am tired. I am going to bed earlier tonight.

Doreen, I just did RWH Legs a couple weeks ago. I like it, but I think I like ICE Lower Body better.

Tomorrow is a rest day. Just a walk.

No workout today. I knew I wouldn't feel like it after I got home from the doctor. I was woke up extra early by thunder and pouring rain. It rained a lot. I will get in a workout tomorrow. I discussed the thing with my ribs and we decided I would see my arthritis doctor and maybe he could get an x-ray at the arthritis facility. If not I will call her and she will schedule me an X ray at one near her office. She wanted to check and see if my rib on the left side is out of place. She would have called today, but I want to save myself as many trips across the city as possible.

Debbie, I hope you get some rest and that knot lets up.

Doreen, working out outside in the sun sounds nice.

Cam, the descending lower body ladder sounds like another good workout. Enjoy your rest day tomorrow.
 
Sorry I forgot to check in yesterday, my day just got away from me :( Yesterday I went for a walk with my puppy and halfway out it started to rain so we had to hurry back but still got in a good walk through the hills anyway. Walk was 46 minutes, traveled 2.7 miles and burned 388 calories. Today I had an excellent workout, I did CL #261 Upper Body Balltastic and I also took my puppy for a walk in the hills, 35 minutes, 1.4 miles and I burned 266 calories. I like this workout a lot, I have done it numerous times and it has a good flow to it. Workout was 55 minutes and I burned 462 calories. I added a few extra exercises to the workout because I was feeling good today.

When are you all supposed to get Cathe's STS 2.0? I am excited to get your feedback, if you all like it I will probably buy the weight workouts.


Debbie, good idea resting the body to get rid of the knot. Do you take magnesium supplements?

Diane Sue, we have had rain here too and I am sick of it! I am so ready for summertime!

Doreen, how exciting that you can workout in the outside already! Once the weather gets warmer here, I can lift my garage doors and it will feel like I am working out outside too! Great job on the workout by the way.

Cam, way to go on the workouts you are doing, you are killing it!!

HI,

I had an amazing and fulfilled birthday. My family took me to Hell's Kitchen (Chef Gordon Ramsay) at the Wharf in DC.The food was amazing and worth every $$, IMO! I highly recommend if you in the DC area. We will defiantly go back.

This morning we drove DS to the airport at 4 am. I am tired. I miss DS already. I will see him the end of the month. DD left before lunch. I am glad I get to see both very often.

Today I took 2 walks, it's very nice outside compared to yesterday.

Cam - thank you. I did had a lot of fun yesterday. Great job on your workout.

Diane - thank you. I had an amazing day. Your weather sounds like ours. I was hoping to walk at the Wharf. No luck.It's very nice outside today. I hope you get an appointment soon.

Julie - thank you! I hate when I get rained on especially when I take a walk. Great job.

I did a 30 minute endurance ride today on the spin bike. I wanted to bike outside but I have a lot going on at work so didn't want to risk being late. Maybe over the weekend I can get outside.

Weird thing last night - my left ankle swole up to about 2x the size of my other ankle. This morning it seemed normal but now at work is staring to swell again? I wonder if I have a pinched nerve or blood vessel in that leg causing that.

Today I did Raw Step Boxing, 28 minutes, 150 calories, heart rate 129/150, 2,318 steps. I then did CDorner Get Strong and Toned Abs Foam Roller/ Killer workout, 22 minutes, 57 calories, heart rate 91/145. I finished with CDorner Neck and shoulder stretch adding some lower stretches and foam rolling, 33 minutes, 40 calories. Total time 83 minutes, 247 calories. The foam roller ab work was pretty good. Chris showed the option to do without the roller. Doing planks with hands and forearms on the roller adds some balance to the work. Also lying on it vertical and she does Russian twists with the foam roller. There are 6 moves and they are done 3 times. She says AMRAP and there is a timer.

Jolie, it would not be fun getting caught in the rain with the dogs. It was sunny today and got up to 80. It is so weird because yesterday I cam home from the doctor and put on long sleeves because I was cold all day. Great job on Balltastic and the walk with the pup today. I think I remember that one and liked it. I think the last time I did Live Cathe was up to 302 workouts? I am not sure when STS 2.0 will be shipped. I think they are in the process of being made.

Belinda, your birthday surprise sounds wonderful. I bet the food at Hell's Kitchen was wonderful. It is nice that you are able to see your son and daughter often. I feel lucky mine are all close and we have a monthly gathering. We spent some time with my youngest daughter and grandchildren this afternoon.

Doreen, nice work on the endurance ride. That is odd that your ankle is swelling up. I hope that it stops doing that.


Roselyn, nice job on the Hiit workout today. Enjoy the trial of Carolines workouts. You can let everyone know how they are.

Perfect 30 UB is done. I went a little lighter than usually.

Roselyn - thank you. This restaurant just opened up in DC. This one he owns. The others are partnered. I would highly recommend if you ever get a chance. What do you think of Carline's workouts so far?

Diane - the food was amazing. I eating in a lot of fine dinning restaurants. Especially Gordon's signature recipes. Everything was perfect. The waiter got me a nice birthday cake, it was Gordon's mom recipe. It was so good. I wished DS still lived in DC. I am not complaining, I do get to see him often. DH and I plan on visiting him in June if I ever get an appointment with the cardiology. They having trouble with their appointments since they changed to a different system. For the longest time, I couldn't log into my patrol. Very frustrating. I do see my doctor on Tuesday. That's great you live so close to your family. Great job on your workout.

Doreen - nice job yesterday.

This morning I did Penny 45 min. No Repeat Dumbbell Strength and Cardio Hiit. I liked that it had less plank/pushup moves. Sometimes she's overkill with that and it turns me off or I substitute. The cardio wasn't anything crazy. She tends to keep the cardio at a lower impact. I never leave a Penny workout without being a sweaty mess.

Belinda, glad you are able to do a workout. Sounds like a fun birthday.

Another crappy weather weekend. Jeez, when will we have a decent weekend?? We're supposed to have more strong storms an hail tonight. Our sump pump could use a break.

PWH LI Hiit One this morning. I think this one as it is mostly agility drills. I did it outside - it was a little chilly this morning but I warmed up fast!

My daughter has prom this weekend. After a week of drama trying to figure out who she was going with she got a friend from church to go with her. But she has to work early Sunday morning so she's not planning to stay for the entire after prom party.

Checking in with CDorner 30 min No Repeat HIIT. It was ok. Too beautiful out to be in the house so wanted something quick.day today. Turning rainy and cool tonight and tomorrow.

Hi,

P30 Lower Body plus bonus with the band is done. I went lighter in weight and modified as needed. My knee didn't like the lateral moves.

Friday I a have an appointment with cardiology.

Yesterday I did some biking along the lake. I liked these trails, super flowy, not technical, mostly flat so you can just ride! I took my dog for the first 1.2 miles, then dropped him off with my husband who was fishing because I don't want him to overheat or cut his paws by over-doing it and I've only had him out on the bike for 20-30 mintues max so far this spring.

This morning I did a neck and shoulder stretch as a recovery workout from biking yesterday!

Crazy weekend for me and my puppy Rowdy. He got stung by a bee or a spider and had a very deathly reaction to it and we spent the entire day yesterday in the hospital. He is better today, yesterday when we got up in the morning he was in shock and was really sick. He will not eat or drink but he is a lot better today and sleeping a lot.

Today I needed to blow off some energy, so I walked up hill for 60 minutes, incline 6.0, traveled 3.3 miles and burned 651 calories.

Great job on the workouts over the weekend and today everyone.
