The Ultimate Contraversy! Are you...

Great thread! Love the pics, especially the "wing man" jacket!

I'm definitely a dog person, although I love all animals. At one point about 10 years ago I had a dog, guinea pig, floppy eared rabbit, and a cockatoo all at the same time... I have now whittled it down to just my big doggie.

Cats are great, but I'm really allergic to them. I tried to own a cat about 20 yrs ago and almost coughed up a lung... My friend has two cats and I have to take a Claritin just to go visit her!! But I still play with her kitties because I can't resist a cute bundle of fur...

I'm in heaven! All these photos of fur babies makes me very happy:D
I'm a dog person.:cool:I like cats but I'm allergic to them.:(

This is truly a controversy! I am definitely a dog person! Someone on this forum once had the signature:
"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.” (Robert Heinling) Both my DH and I got a kick out of that one!

I am sooooo relieved that I am not the only one who dresses my dog!!!!
Before she passed, the whole neighborhood used to stop by on Halloween to see what she was that year!!!! :D:D:D

Come on Liann, my mom's mini daschaund is way too fun to dress. She has a raincoat and booties and a sweater for the winter (with a pocket for a bone)
Weenie dogs are awesome

that first cat looks just like mine except she has bright green eyes.i just saw a nieghbor of mine tugging his dog along because it kept wanting to go the other direction.he said:come on stupid dog!i would not like having to take a dog out 2X a day or more in 100% weather and picking up poop(which some dogs eat!),though it does give a reason to go outside and you can walk your dog.. luckily my cat is not messy,no stinky breath, does not go on the floor, does not have to be groomed, and is still playfull.unfortunately, she likes to eat and play at night.

funny pics. I love dogs and cats both, bu tI favor cats. Dogs tend to smell, they require more attention, responsibility in my opinion. When you go away on vacation, it is not such a burden to get a cat sitter. Allt hey do is feed him and maybe change the cat litter once or twice. Dogs need to be walked and need more attention in general. I got a cat when I was fourteen, had to put him down in 2006, so I was 29 and he was 15, I had him for half my life (lol). He was such a character and charmer. I still miss him.

I have had a cat ever since I was an infant and my dad rescued a kitten from a tree during a thunderstorm in Chicago. Charcoal slept in my crib and guarded me. I have never lived without a cat. I got my 1st dog when I was 10 and have almost always had one since. I can live without a dog, although I love them dearly. I can't imagine life without a cat or two or three or......;)

Not all dogs have that doggy smell. Mine do not but my old boss's spaniel stunk even after coming back from the groomers! I really think some breeds have more of an aroma than others. I also DO NOT walk my dogs! ;) Cheyenne's legs are MAYBE 2" long, so a long walk is down the driveway and back. And that is about all she will stand for. After that she lays down and refuses to move. ;) We have a designated poopy section in the yard to, so no poop scooping for me either. I love wienie dogs!

I love dogs, but own a cat. :) His name is Valentine, because we got him as a stray right before V-Day. When we took him to the vet when we first found him, and my kids learned he was a boy (we thought HE was a SHE), they wanted to change his name to Valentino! LOL

We also go to the SPCA to help out with the cats. My kids LOVE it!

Here are some pics.

Look closely....Valentine is laying on my son's Build-A-Bear bear. lol Completely innocent, I promise!
(and the pink Cathe band that I keep in the living room for impromptu stretching)

My older DS, surrounded. The cat just in front of his legs was actually sitting on his HEAD right before I took this pic, but I was too slow with the camera!

My younger DS fell in love with this cat, his name is Silver.

I'm definitely bi-pet-tual.:p I've had both but Dh is allergic to cats so I had to give my cat away when we married. :( I will never live without at least 1 dog though.

Love all the pictures, so cute!

Am waiting for my aquarium to cycle and then I will add dog face puffers to my clan.

Not all dogs have that doggy smell.

Boxers have no doggy odor either.
My dog sitter asked me how many times a week I bathe my boxers. She said they smell sweet. I know:cool: they are sweet but I only bathe them a few times a year:eek: They smell like a human to me. I sniff by boxer's heads all the time(just like I did with my skin kids:eek:). My boxers have the best smell ever:D:D

I love both, but DH hates cats so we only have a dog. We have a wienie dog; actually she's a tweenie - you know in between a full size & mini. She has such a personality. She goes walking with us every day at least 3 mi & can go up to 6 but not now - too hot - temps are triple digits right now & pavement would be too hot for her. Liann, I love the pics reminds me of ours, but ours won't wear anything. She hates being dressed up. We tried once but she was so upset & then when we removed the sweater she was huffing & puffing at us; her way of swearing at us.

Lol! Mine actually do not mind it although we rarely ever put anything on them unless it is for a picture. Here's Cheyenne picking out what she wants to wear next. That's all her sweaters on the floor!

OMG, she is so cute Liann!!!
Look at all her pretty clothes! :D:D

Great pictures everyone!!! I'm definitely bi-pet-ual (too funny, Tami). However, I understand my dogs much better than I do my cats. :D

Here's another Boxer sharing some love with his cat. :)

Definitely a dog person here. Although I don't know why I love my dog so much. She is so bad! She barks when anyone comes over or leaves (separation anxiety), chomps into the mail as it comes in the slot, and tries to run away any chance she gets.
I love the pics of your weinie dogs in their clothes, Liann. That reminds me I had a Kindergarten student a few years ago that came to school wearing a dog sweater. I guess she liked the sparkly rhinestones on it, but you could definitely tell it was a dog sweater!!

Count me among the bi-pet-uals (so clever!) I have two rescue cats that I love but don't really need me/acknowledge me (gotta love cats), and I H-A-T-E cat litter.

My doggies Oliver (Boston Terrier) and Vinny (Maltese mix) are the loves of my life, though. They're my children! :)
