Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2022!!

Today I did Athletic Training for the first time. I liked it but Cathe moves really fast. I slowed down reps and had to rewind here and there. I like the exercises and now that I got the flow down next time will be a better workout. I think if she would have put cardio throughout the video instead of all in the beginning it may have made it more challenging. My band broke and went flying across the room. Ha!

Diane, yes, holding my head up for ab work can put strain on my neck. My doc wants me to just do planks. He said crunches are bad for our spines. So I stick with plank and pilates moves. I am glad PT is helping you. I'm sure it's nice to get reassurance from him during your sessions.

Debbie & Jolie, glad you are doing better.

Good workouts everyone.

I did upper body with Joey Mantia this morning. Good workout, chest and back for 4 rounds, shoulders and abs, then bis and tris for 3 rounds. Then a 10 minute walk with the dog on the TM because it is still dark in the AM!

No workout. I did PT yesterday and again today. We are starting to get into full range on my arm in close to my head and straight over my head. Yesterday he had me do some reverse grip pullover type work with arms straight and a weight bar. He did not have me do that one today. I was glad as yesterday day I did a lot of intense overhead work. My scapula and lats are sore! We talked today about my workouts and what I do. He said I could probably do child pose with arms extended. He said if I pull my arm across in front of me to get a bit of stretch in the back I should go up a little high or do it low as straight across causes some difficulty with a group of ligaments at that level. I told him I am not doing any moves that we are not already in the range we are working. I wish I had opportunity for some more workouts. I had Walmart deliver groceries and they were here 10 minutes after I got home from PT. I have doctor app with cardiovascular tomorrow and Thursday is PT again. Friday I thought I would be able to, but we have a large tv cabinet coming in the morning and afternoon I am going with my husband to a meeting. Maybe Saturday I can do something. When I was leaving my PT mentioned how active I seem to have been and getting back to it soon. He was encouraging.

Cam, thanks for the answer. I have heard that before with the spine and crunches. I find many positions that are off affect how my spine feels. I cannot do planks right now. Someday I will be back to planks. I have been doing some V-sit holds when I do a workout. I have had several bands snap and some tubing handles pop off. Some of it was because I had grandson's play with them tying them to things and using them as a bungie. One of them did it when my workout room was up stairs and he would pull way out onto the landing by the stairs and let it go. I was afraid he was going to go flying down the stairs. I have had to replace a few.

Doreen, nice work with Joe Mantia this morning.

Belinda, nice work with cardio and abs. I hope you had a pleasant walk today.

Roxie, I love doing mobility workouts. Sometimes we really need that. It was not so windy here today. It has been pretty windy the last two days. March is always pretty windy.

Debbie, nice work on the weights with Build and Burn. I forget some of those workouts. I always liked that one and felt I got a good workout in and not too long.

Roselyn, good work on Body Beast Legs today.

Two Ifit spin workouts today. First one a tempo interval and then one that was supposed to be a recovery ride but ended up being more like an endurance ride because they had the tension set so high and I am trying now to ride at the tension the workout sets and not change it.

Real quick update again, tomorrow will be better. This morning I did RAW Shadow Boxing 1 and had a great workout. Really like this one. I used my 2# hand weights.

Workout was 42 minutes, burned 341 calories and HR was143/163. I estimated about 3916 steps. I wish the Garmin would clock steps during a workout, I wonder why it doesn't?

Great workouts everyone, I'll do personals tomorrow. Have a great day!

Yesterday I had a great day visiting my parents with my son, it was 91 degrees with little humidity, so it was absolutely beautiful in Rancho Mirage. We went out to lunch and sat outside on the golf course, boy that made me crave summer days!!! Since I sat a lot yesterday in the car, I opted for cardio today, I had to get some movement. I did 50 minutes on the TM, uphill most of the time but leveling off a few times to make sure my hip flexors got in a good stretch. I walked for 2.6 miles Next, I got on my elliptical and ran for 15 minutes, traveled 1.6 miles. Total miles were 4.2. I then picked up lite DB's and did shoulder and bicep exercises while I cooled down, I really worked up a good sweat and it felt amazing. Total calories burned was 625.

Debbie, great job on the workouts the last few days. I sure hope your days slow down a little bit, you are go go go lately! I am going to get on my elliptical a couple times per week to get some running in, I want to lean out for summer so I think this will help my legs. I also love how I feel after running, it really gets the endorphins going!

Doreen, great spin workouts today.

Cam, I used to love doing Cathe's Athletic Step workout but I have to be very careful with my back right now so that workout will have to wait a bit but I would love to do it again. I agree, she goes too fast.

Diane Sue, way to go on the PT, you are doing great and I can't believe the range of motion you have already! I want to start having my groceries delivered, I have to look into getting that done, it sure would save a lot of time.

Roselyn, great job with Body Beast Legs, those are killer workouts.

I hope you all have great workouts today. BBL to read the other posts for the day.

Good Afternoon,

I did BeachBody 645 Upper Body then went for a walk. I laid out in the sunshine even though it’s windy again. It is 70 today only going to be 47 Friday and back into the 70’s Sunday, this weather is nuts.

Just a 2 mile walk on my lunch today. No time for a workout after work. It was in the 50's, so I was excited to get out for a little bit. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 60's. Yay!

Good workouts everyone!

My post from yesterday just posted. Weird. Today I took another 2 mile walk on my lunch and after work I did Michelle Briehler Full Body Super Set Strong. Perfect! Hit it all in 35 min. 67 degrees today! But Friday it's back to colder weather.

Agree Roxie, this weather is crazy.

Good workouts everyone!

My cardiovascular appointment went well today. No meds, so I am happy. I left at 9 this morning for this appointment and did not get home till 1. I had such a headache by the end of waiting. The doctor said the ultrasound looked like the leaky valve was better than before. My calcium score is okay. Blood pressure was up a bit there. I told him it was less before I came in. He said they expect it to be higher with most patients when they come in. How relaxed can a person be after doing the ultrasound and waiting in the waiting room, then waiting in the exam room for so long? He said we just need to check once in a while since Rheumatoid arthritis does attack arteries. He said I am active and take care of it so that is good.
It was funny this evening my husband was feeding our fish and I caught site of a little tiny fish coming out to get food before one of the big ones went after it. One of our cichlids gave us babies! I am hoping they don't eat it or something. I don't know if there is just one or I am seeing different little striped fish coming out. We have lots of hiding places in the tank. Fish are funny. They know my husband is the one that feeds them. He gets out of his chair and heads that direction and they all see him from a distance and come out in a group. They do not do that to me.
PT tomorrow morning.

Debbie, nice work on the shadow boxing 1 workout.

Jolie, I went to Walmart for a few things last week after PT and after running around hunting for things through the whole store (they rearranged it since I was last there) I decided I was better off paying the 7.95 to 9.95 delivery charge and not having to drag it out to the parking lot and drag it in and out of the car. The only thing is I buy more as I don't know if they are going to have what I want in stock so I will order the same item in different brands just to be sure I am going to get what I wanted. This time I ordered GT Gingerade Kombucha and I ordered Kevita pineapple ginger and I got all of it. Walmart will say out of stock, sometimes they text about substitutes. Also they will ship some items from other stores that are not in there store. Whole Foods charges more. I order with my Amazon chase card to get 5% back off the groceries and then pay it off right away. I pay delivery and tip which is charged separately. I can alter the tip up or down. I just do the suggested unless they have went out of the way with something, like icy roads and managing to get it to the doorstep. I think here Walmart uses a lot of Uber drivers. I read an Uber forum as I was curious and they were complaining about using too much time waiting in the Walmart parking lot for orders to come out. Some were saying Uber did not allow them tips. I have not figured out the tip thing on Walmart. They put it on the total, but say charged separately, but it never seems to come out of my account. I have wondered if it is just added in the total after all. They probably do things differently in different areas.

Doreen, I am always curious how the tension really feels that the instructors are using. I try to make it hard enough that I am struggling to get the same pace they are going.

Roxy, your weather sounds like ours.

Cam, odd that your post showed up today. Nice work getting something in after work today. I have never been real good at getting workouts in later in the day. It is something I have to push myself to do.

This morning I did KCM Cardio Fit Hi/Lo w/Dumbbells and had a great workout. Loved this one, it was really fun and great combos. I didn't write the exercises down because I thought I could find them on her website but nope, not there. I will write this one down because I want to do it again soon. Very fun. I liked the dumbbell exercises, too. Lots of different things in this. I used 5# dumbbells.

Workout was 31 minutes, burned 220 calories, did 2338 steps and HR was 132/158.

Belinda - Great idea on using veggie broth for that cheese sauce, I will make some this weekend and try that and see if the flavor is better. I may add smoked paprika to it as I love that spice. I made a vegan alfredo sauce last weekend so I could make a white pizza and it turned out awesome. I had left over and want to put it over pasta tonight. Yummy! Glad your Rheumatologist appointment went well. I hope you are feeling better.

Roxie - I love your first name, it's so pretty! I hope you got everything squared away for your unemployment. How frustrating that must be! Have you heard anything from Sephora?

Diane - You're right, Jersey isn't in the actual workout of Athletic Stretch but he comes in the room at the end. You can hear him barking while she's doing the stretch. He does come in with another workout she does, he's such a cute dog! Glad your cardiovascular appointment went well, that is always a good thing! I will probably need to get an ultra sound on my aortic bicuspid this year, I think it's time for me to do that. I'll find out tomorrow as I have my annual physical. Joy...

Jolie - You are getting in some good walks, nice job!! My days will slow down now until mid April, then it kicks up until the end of the school year. But the days will fly and I will be off for summer in no time! Yay!

Cam, Roselyn and Doreen - Nice workouts girls! You are all kicking butt!!

Hope you have a great day. I'm off from work tomorrow so looking forward to that. My event went very well last night but I am exhausted today.

Today I did an upper body circuit, the same one that I did on Monday. I like doing my own weight workouts because I can go at my own pace, and I know which exercises I can do without hurting my back. However, I might start up P90X again when I am feeling confident in my back, I really enjoy those workouts. I am feeling really good except when I wake up in the morning, my low back is sore as well as my hips. I do sleep on my sides, so I wonder if my bed is too hard or what? I am tired from my workout yesterday; I love the way I feel after a good cardio workout. Today it will be in the low 70's and next week it shows that we will hit 80 degrees! Yippee! Keep in mind that 80 degrees is not that hot in CA, we have low humidity and an ocean breeze that really makes it feel much cooler than it actually is outside.

Debbie, great workout today! Summer break is right around the corner :)

Belinda, nice weather you are having right now. Isn't it great to go for a hike, I love it!

Cam, way to go on getting a walk in and a workout, enjoy your lovely weather.

Roxie, I love your name too! When did you start using Roxie instead? I love both names, they are lovely.

Diane Sue, thanks for all of the info on the Walmart online shopping, I am going to look into it today. I am glad that your doctor's appointment went well yesterday. All of my Life Line Screening came out great too! I have to watch out for Cholesterol and high blood pressure, it runs in my mother's side of the family.

I hope you all have great workouts today.

Good Afternoon,

I went to the dentist this morning and I need a root canal and a crown yay. Took the dog for a walk it’s supposed to rain later then I did 645 Cardio 45. I am trying to be consistent it was really supposed to be weights again but I needed a break from those.

Jolie-my cousins couldn’t say my full name so Roxie was easier for them so it stuck. My DH calls me Rox and thank you.

Debbie-thank you and it doesn’t look like things are straightened out yet I need to call them tomorrow really needing the 1600 they owe me. Tomorrow is interview day at Sephora.

Hi,

Today I did D53 TB. I have 7 more workouts left in the 12 week rotations. I probably will continue with her workouts depending what what she comes up next. I really like her style of workouts, so does my body.

Debbie - let me know how you like the sauce with veggie broth. I also add 505 Southwestern® Flame Roasted Green Chiles from Costco. So good. After reading about the vegan alfredo sauce, I made some today. I had everything. So good. Did you use Kiki's sauce? I am making pizza tomorrow. I still have roasted veggies I made the other day.

Jolie - hope you're back feels better soon.

Great job, everyone else. Good night.

I had this morning off and it was gorgeous out. I took my dog for a 2 mile walk. Tonight I did Penny Barnshaw 30 min. Knee Friendly Low Impact Cardio & Strength. Now it's cold and rainy. Go figure. At least I got to enjoy the best part of the day.

Jolie, if you sleep on your side, try sleeping with a pillow between your knees, or tuck a pillow under your side. I find this helps my hip area.

Good workouts everyone! Happy St. Patty's Day!
