Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2022!!

Debbie - instead of cooking the potatoes/carrots in water, I cook them in Better than bouillon vegetables broth. You can use any veggie broth you want. It gives it more flavor than just water. Today I made half the cheese sauce with roasted red peppers in a jar. So good! I need the sauce for my vegan pizza I will make. I bought the Pantstrong Pizza Kit https://plantstrongfoods.com/products/organic-pizza-kit. The pizza crust comes up a lot on the FOK's, I can't find it anywhere. I also have a coupon code. Next time I make the sauce, I will use fresh, roasted red onions and fresh garlic to the sauce. You also could add hot sauce to the sauce just to give it more flavor. I have done that before. I had the same problem the last few times I made the sauce, it had hardly any flavor. I still ate it. I am on a kick with backed potatoes, broccoli and cheese sauce. I could eat it every day for lunch :)

Good Afternoon,

Not feeling well today my stomach starting cramping and today I am nauseated.

Debbie-my name is Roxana and as you can see from my picture I am as white as they come. I had the same problem when I tried to register to vote a couple of years ago they needed proof I was a citizen. I don’t have problems with a drivers license or any other kind of licensing.

Diane-there is a company called makeup geek that sells singles and they are going out of business in April so stuff is supposed to go on sale.

This morning I did a lower body workout by Joey Mantia on Ifit- He's really got such a good camera presence - I hope they keep him/bring him back for more workouts. And his form is impeccible on lunges and squats - you can tell he's really worked on body/space awareness and movement patterns. This was eccentric movements for RDLs, Squats and then hamstring and core moves. He also talked a lot about awareness of breathing and how he uses it to center himself before races or in stressful situations. Very interesting.

Today I did a Michelle Briehler 55 min. PiYO. I like doing these once in awhile. It works your muscles and stretches them at the same time.

It's cold here today. Tomorrow its supposed to be really cold and then get into the 50's & 60's next week. Yay! Daylight savings this weekend. We're getting closer to Spring!

Have a good weekend everyone!

I have a love/hate relationship with DST in the spring... on the one hand its hard to be back to waking up in darkness but on the other hand spring and warmer days are ahead!!

This morning I did the next in the series cycle with Keith Gabel, paraolympic snowboarder. He's at a ranch in Winter Park, CO (2.5 hrs from me) fat-tire biking. This one is intervals but he tells us how he got started snowboarding and his accident where he lost his foot (industrial work accident) and how he got back on the snowboard. Crazy inspiring what he had to go through.

This morning I did 2 workouts. ICE Boot Camp & LITE PHA 2. I love putting these 2 together when I have time. It's my Birthday, so why not. The non-fitness people in my life would think I was crazy. Who would want to workout on their Birthday at all, let alone 2 workouts, but you guys get it.

Doreen, yeah, I'm an early riser, so I am not looking to dark mornings for another month, but I love that it'll be light until 7. More after work walks in my future. It's supposed to be nice here all week, so lunchtime walks for sure this week.

Have a good day! Off to have some fun.

Today I did CDorner, 30-minute step workout (Intermediate)133 bpm- This was 36:25 minutes, heart rate 108/130, 137 calories, 2,936 steps. I also started her neck and upper back stretch from 11 days ago. I got to 8 minutes in, and it froze. I tried to go out and come back in as she had told some others to do that that had a problem. It did not fix. I couldn't do all of it anyway and it was hard to sub moves. My right arm will not go up over my head to hold onto the other elbow overhead. Also, I cannot do eagle arms. I used to have no problem, but there was no way. So, I went on and did Raw Athletic Stretch, 28 minutes (skipping the shoulder stretch as I could not reach the left arm under myself. Also had to modify moves in the table position and no down dog. I just hung and reached for my toes. Pidgeon was okay, but my right arm cannot go overhead. I did not want to push positions that we have not done in PT. The stretching was a total of 34 minutes, 85/114 heart rate, 73 calories. Total time was 70 minutes, 210 calories. I have a busy week coming up as PT won't be in Friday and I have the cardiovascular appointment Wednesday so the other 3 days will be PT. The PT is adding new stuff. I was so sore yesterday and still sore today.

Debbie, I did not see Kelly's dog Jersey in the Athletic Stretch. I could hear her barking and Kelly said she had to put her outside while she was doing the stretching. Jersey is a cute dog. I like her better with all the fluff or hair than when she had her trimmed up for summer. She is a Berma doodle. I gather they do not shed much and are really good natured. I wouldn't mind having one someday. I like the long holds on the stretches. I think holding the stretches longer helps the tightness a lot. I spent some time rolling with my therapy balls and roller this morning after stretching.

Belinda, I am sure you will have fun with the cooking classes and all the new recipes. Nice work today. It was nice that your daughter did the workout with you.

Roxie, that is really weird that you have to prove who you are because of your name. Maybe they have you mixed up with someone else or something. I hope they get that straightened out soon. Thanks for the heads up on the company that is going out of business. I will check out make up geek.

Doreen, nice work today. Those sound like interesting workouts.

Cam, nice work with Ice Bootcamp and Lite PHA 2. Someday I will get back to longer workouts. It will be nice to be on my own and not all of the PT.

Today was a lot of cleaning and I did Millionaire Hoy 45 min. Silent But Deadly Low Impact Cardio. That was tough, as there was only a break after each circuit. It was pretty much continuous. His workouts are no joke. He has some different moves which made it fun. I typically don't like male instructors, but he doesn't have music, so I can blast my music and turn him down.

Diane, a year ago I never thought I would be doing the workouts that I am doing. Yes, you will get there. It will be one year, on March 31st. Everything is gradual and there may be things that cause you pain and you won't be able to do, but the important thing is what you can do and how good you feel doing that. If that makes sense.

This morning I did Fit Tower Advanced Bootcamp premix lower body and bonus abs skipping the plank work. This was 43 minutes, heart rate 113/138, 165 calories. I forgot to check steps, but I do not think it was very many. Maybe around 1000. I have been so tired all day. Time change is messing with me, and I went back to sleep after getting up and taking some Tylenol and slept till 10o_O

Cam, you are right on the time and gradual. My PT told me when I mentioned the reaching up to put pegs at PT and at home to do things, I find my arm shaking. He says I will find it takes close to a year before full strength is back. I really try hard at PT though. I do not want to miss the opportunity for getting as much back as possible. My daughter said she knows a lady that is a patient that gave up after PT and did not keep up the exercises and just accepted not getting full recovery. She is still limited on what she can do.
Does it bother your neck during ab work? I used to be able to do long ab workouts with weights involved, but now it just sets off pain even light stuff. I do think the work I used to do may have been harmful and helped the limited space along in my neck though.
You are doing amazingly well. You can tell you listened to doctors and therapists. I read stuff as well from reputable sites.

Good evening,

I ended up taking a rest day today. DD left today.

Debbie- we got hit with a lot of snow. Tomorrow it's suppose to get get warmer. It's very cold outside. Trying to book a flight/or decided if I want to drive to visit my DS and DIL in TX in April?

Diane - I am glad you starting to feel better. I have been praying for you. I am excited to try more new vegan recipes. DD and I made vegan sushi this weekend. My husband usually don't eat sushi, but he will eat vegan sushi. We made one it looks like raw fish on top of rice, lol. DD couldn't believe we made it. He ate and try all 3 different kind we made.

Good night.

This morning I did RAW Box & Pump 4. I haven't done this one since December. My knee is doing pretty good but I still have to be careful with it. Now my right knee is giving me fits.

Box & Pump 4 - 1 minute intervals:

Hammer Curl Pulse/Supination:
12's
Deadlifts: 12's
Boxing Segment: 2# hand weights

Dumbbell Curl Pulses/Pledges: 12's
Squat//Fold/Deadlift Up: 12's
Boxing Segment: 2# hand weights

Overhead Press: 8's
Lunges: 12's
Boxing Segment: 2# hand weights

Lateral Raise/Alt. Front Raise: 5's
Lunge Sequence: 8's
Boxing Segment: 2# hand weights

Overhead Triceps Extension: 12#
Plie Squats: 12#
Boxing Segment: 2# hand weights

Kickbacks: 5's
Glute Pulses: BW

Fun stuff! Workout was 48 minutes, burned 379 calories, did 3294 steps and HR was 141/171.

I want to respond to some of your comments but just don't have time. Spelling Bee went well, now I'm getting ready for the Middle School Honors Choir and Band Festival for all the county, it's on Wednesday. So time at work is limited. I'll try to come back later and do personals.

Have a great day everyone!!

Today I did two Ifit workouts - a 25 and a 20 minute one by Keith Gabel - paraolympic snowboarder so I could hear the entire rest of his story on how he made it into the Olympics. Really good workouts two - I was sweating buckets!! I have a feeling these are harder on the spin bike than what the instructor is really doing because there is no way I could have talked through it!

Anybody else feel that Cathe's newsletter is now more of an ad page than a newsletter?

Good luck with all of this school things you have going on, can you believe it is so close to summer already!

Belinda, great job on the workout.

Doreen, nice job on the workout today, I like how this snowboarder has these workouts for people to do.

Diane Sue, I am glad that you are doing better each day!

Roselyn, glad to hear your mom is doing well. Great job on the workouts.

Cam, nice job on the workouts lately!

I will be taking a rest day tomorrow; my son and I are going out to visit my parents before he has to go back to school this coming weekend. I cant wait to go, it will be 91 degrees with almost 0% humidity so I am looking forward to the killer weather. The big tennis tournament is on in Indian Wells so I may stop by for a match!

Make it a great day!

Evening,

My appointment with my Rheumatologist went well today. I will get a full 3rd covid shot, next week. Then in 3 month I get a 4th shot. Hopefully I have the same symptoms I did with the first and 2nd shot.

DH and I booked our flight to TX to visit my son and DIL in April. I am super excited to see my son's new house and spent some time with them. We will stay 3 weeks. We are flying first class all the way through no-one sitting next to us. We will bring Sadie, she has to be in a carrier in front of our seat. There are only 3 dogs allowed in the cabin. I hope she does well on the flight. I am already looking for cute ones to buy for her. DH and I already planning a trip to FL after TX. My son had to come first, lol. We looked into driving and staying 2 nights in hotels too. Less stressful for all of us plus traveling by plane is less exposure to covid, IMO. Of course, we will wear our mask.

Good night.
