Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2022!!

Yesterday I saw my Chiro and PT therapist and both of them told me it is ok to walk outside, even in the hills, but to listen to my body. If at any time I feel any discomfort, turn around and go home. Today I did a 4 mile walk outside even in some low hills and did really great. Once I finally got this muscle spasm to release after 4 weeks, I am feeling great. Walk was 1 hour 18 minutes and I burned 699 calories. Structure wise I am good; this is all connective tissue and muscle issues at this point. I was going to do upper body today, but I woke up with a really bad kink in my neck and right shoulder from sleeping in a weird position, so I opted to walk instead so I would not irritate it. I hate when that happens.

Debbie, great job with the workout today! I agree, the stretching takes so long, and I want to burn calories, but I now see how stretching is the key to staying flexible. If we lift we are contracting the muscles and then we must stretch them afterwards otherwise they get tight and freeze up on us causing a lot of problems. I think I may stretch at night while watching tv since I would be sitting anyway, I might as well do something productive for myself. I agree with you on the whole oil issue as well, Biden sucks!!! We were energy independent and now we are funding Communist countries for our oil. What a bunch of idiots we have in office at this moment in time. God Bless America!

Doreen, another awesome workout you did today!

Diane Sue, I hope you are doing well.

Belinda, nice workout yesterday.

Roselyn, way to go on the workout yesterday.

My son comes home from college Thursday for spring break, I am so excited!

Make it a great day.

No workout this week yet. Yesterday was there was more improvement. Most was not so painful. Although he left me with the weight bar lying down with elbow on a rolled towel for quite a long time. I noticed he did not set the timer. He had another client there that he had to help out the door with her walker (she was there for her shoulder too) and another came in so he was rushing to clean surfaces and get the other set up before he got back. I felt like I was doing one of those long endurance moves. I actually had to let go and stretch my arm out. When he came back, I told him my arm was getting kind of tired and he said a few extra minutes there and smiled. When he went to stretch in that angle it did not hurt so bad so I guess that was a plus. My traps and neck did not hurt so much afterward. Today was ladies game day and we did a belated valentines party and birthday celebration for some of the ladies. It was fun. Between this and coming home to talk to another friend to catch up took up the day. Husband got up before I was done chatting. Tomorrow is PT again. I am hoping some cardio Thursday, but I also have to follow my husband to leave his car for updating the GPS system and service. Friday morning will be busy with PT and getting back to pick up the car. They are forecasting snow. I sure hope it is sparse as I am not driving in it.

Debbie, I told my husband tonight that I would never have thought that our government would be asking help with fuel from enemies and communists. What has become of our country? We are spiraling into the pit those other countries are in. Them saying we will be so much better off with the electric cars when they do not care that when they are done with us we won't have funds to purchase those vehicles and I don't expect them to have all of those charging stations all worked out. They are ignorant. I doubt Covid is gone and they will probably find another Fauci to push whatever agenda they have. Fauci became useless. Also I read something yesterday saying Bill Gates publicly stated that another big pandemic could be heading our way soon. Maybe he is hoping that those 8 shareholders of Pfizer and Moderna are hoping to add to their wealth.
I have problems with my traps and neck still. The PT keeps saying the neck id from the traps and I usually have to come home and use ice right away. I will say, I am better today as I have not sat around a lot. Particular at the computer which I know is a huge part of it. He has me working a lot of strengthening those posture muscles. I can feel them. The muscles that support the shoulders and help take the load off of them and give them support. I am not pushing myself too much on working out. I will do it as I feel rested and ready to do it.

Doreen, I bet that feels so much better being able to let the dog out without tie out. I always worried that my dog would get loose or tangled up in the tie out.

Jolie, I am glad you are being careful and feeling better. I have a hard time getting comfortable when sleeping. It seems rare that I don't wake up needing to get up and move something and switch how I am sleeping. I would love to just sleep all night. I would imagine incline would throw your posture off when walking on the treadmill. I hope you continue to learn what helps keep those spasms away. I bet you will have fun having your son home for spring break.

Today I did Tracy Upper Body Work it Circuit Strength & Cardio. I liked it and worked up a good sweat. I also just took my dog for a walk.

Glad everyone is doing better and got your workouts in.
Diane, glad you got to have some fun today.

This morning I just walked on my treadmill for about 25 minutes and then did the RAW Athletic Stretch workout again. I love this workout, it is mostly lower body but she also does a long stretch for the shoulders and low back. My knee doesn't hurt anymore but I still can't kneel or bend it a certain way - so strange. But this stretch workout really helps with that. I did what I could, exercises like child's pose and pigeon were a no go so I substituted with seated child's pose and hugged my knee into my chest for pigeon.

I wish she would make another one of those for upper body. That would be awesome.

Jolie - Has it really been 4 weeks since you messed up your back? Wow how time flies. I am glad you are doing better and are able to walk up hills now. I always say I'm going to start stretching at night and then I never do it. There really isn't much room in our living room to do it, plus by the time I get to sit and watch TV for a few minutes before I go to bed, I'm so tired that stretching is the last thing I think about doing. I really need to work it in with my a.m. workouts.

Belinda - I have been making a lot of food by Plantiful Kiki - I love her stuff. I saw on one of her Youtube videos about that book set you purchased, that really does look like an amazing package. I know the sale is over now, and honestly, I have so many cookbooks, etc. now that I can't possibly go threw them all. But she is such an inspiration, I cannot believe she lost 70# with the plant based diet. She looks amazing. She recently showed a sweet potato recipe she makes where she cooks the potato, tops it with black bean hummus and some other sauce she makes. OMG, it looked so good. I will be trying it next week. I need to get me some sweet potatoes.

Diane - I am so glad you are coming along with your progress, that is such great news. You are doing great!! Interesting on the postural muscles. I do need to start doing those exercises again - I certainly wish I had 2 hours a day to give to myself. When summer comes it's no problem for most of the days, but right now it is impossible. I know what you mean about our country and us buying oil from Russia. Now the dumb ass has supposedly stopped us from purchasing oil from Russia so what does that mean? We have no gas here now? We have to worry about filling up our cars? This sure is aligning with his energy plan, isn't it? He said he was going to make gas so high priced that we wouldn't have a choice by buy electric cars. Looks like that is what is happening. Why isn't everyone in America screaming at the top of their lungs to open the Keystone pipeline?!? We have oil RIGHT HERE for us to use. It is a disgrace and I cannot think about it too long or I get so pissed off. It is just beyond me how all this has happened so quickly - it scares me. Why aren't Republicans raising holy hell in that White House? Instead, they sit there a pick their noses and type stupid stuff on Twitter. DO SOMETHING!!! OMG, I have to stop now, my blood pressure is going up again! LOL!!! But it breaks my heart that everything Trump had in place to make this country great is all gone. It is almost hard to believe.

Doreen & Cam - Great workouts!!

Have a great day everyone!!

another Ifit workout with Joey Mantia. Upper body today. He said he hates working upper body and only does it for movement balance and mobility in the upper body for swinging his arms while speed skating. I really hope they can keep him as a trainer - he's got such a great screen presence. But I'm sure his schedule is packed with training and competitions. I think its interesting to hear from real world athletes how they use weights/movements/training in their routines. Would be super interesting to actually see a workout they actually do.

Today I walked on my TM for 1 hour, traveled 3.2 miles, incline was 2.0 and 0 alternating and burned 445 calories. Next, I did an upper body workout using lite weights and high reps lying on the floor. Total calorie burn was 589. I did two rounds of the upper body circuit.

Chest Press- 12's x 30, x 22
Chest Flies- 10's x 16, x 16
Narrow Gip Chest Press- 12's x 16, x 16
Lying Triceps Ext.- 10's x 20, x 18
Lying Cross Body Ext.- 10# x 16, x 16
Lying DB pullovers- 15# x 16, x 16
Wide Grip Cable Pull Downs- 40# x 20, x 20

Boy does it feel good to move again!

Debbie, great job on the walk and the stretch today! My son just called me and said gas prices just hit $8 per gallon in Northern Ca today!!! FJB

Diane Sue, I am so glad that you PT is going well, and you are doing better. My sleeping is poor, it hurts to lay on my sides and that is the way I like to sleep. I am also sore when I wake up but the more I move the better I start to feel. I am so glad you got to do your ladies game day! Regarding Bill Gates, that guy needs to be taken out. He is for population control and believes in man made viruses to control the population, he and Fauci are crazy!!! They love vaccines and they love viruses.

Doreen, another cool workout today.

Cam, great workout last night!

Make it a great day. I am off to Costco to fill up my car, I bet it will be over $6 per gallon, thanks to our dumb President.

Good Afternoon,

I did a StudioSweat workout 8.5 miles and after spending the weekend with the girls my stamina is shot. I am going to an open hiring for Sephora at Kohl’s on the 18th hoping to get that since I couldn’t get Ulta and my unemployment is on hold for some reason.

Today I did Penny Barnshaw 40 min. Legs & Abs Shape Up No Repeat. I loved this one! 60 sec. work/15 sec rest. 3 circuits: legs, glutes and abs. She used weights and bands and some body weight moves. My legs are rubbery tonight. I subbed some ab work, for plank and pilates moves. Anyway, it was challenging.

Debbie, I still do KCM's Athletic Conditioning for younger adults stretch from her older dvd she does with her kids. Thats a good one. I got my husband to stretch with me a couple times last week. He loves how stretching makes him feel. So now he asks me to find some more for him. I never thought I would get him to stretch.

Good workouts everyone!

This morning I did RAW Circuit workout and had a pretty good workout. It needs to be longer but Kelly even says at the end that this workout is good for a light day or one where you don't have much time. I thought I'd try it because it has some leg exercises and I wanted to see how my knee did. So far so good. It made some very bad noises while I was doing the Leg Press but it didn't hurt. Wonder what all that noise was?

Each circuit included a boxing round, an upper body round, a leg round using the step bench and a plank/ab round. Kelly had six risers but I only used 3 on each side.

Each circuit was 50 seconds on/10 off working one side at a time with the weight section

Circuit 1
Boxing:
2# weights
Dumbbell Curl to Arnold Press: 10# (one side at a time)
BW Leg Press on Step
Planks with knee in and back

Circuit 2
Boxing:
2# weights
Peck Deck/Kickbacks: 10# (this one is weird, you really don't feel it in the chest)
BW Squat Leg Out on Step
Planks raising arms alternatively

Circuit 3
Boxing:
2# weights
Side Lunge to Lawn Mower: 10# (did one side at a time)
Straddle Step Ups (I did Deadlifts w/10's)
Abs on step
(using dumbbells on the step, you sit down and then try to hold yourself up on the dumbbells. I did weighted sit-up)

Workout was 31 minutes, burned 221 calories and HR was 132/162. Did 745 steps. I stretched out really good afterwards since I had time left.

Jolie - Love it!!! FJB! That is hilarious. I need to put that in my signature line! Great job with your workout, glad you are doing better!

Roxie - Good luck at Sephora!! Hope you can get into one of those makeup places. I'd love to work at Ulta!!

Belinda - Hope you enjoyed your rest day! Hope you are feeling better, too.

Cam - I'm not sure I have that DVD by Kelly but maybe I should get it? Does it target the upper body? Sounds like a good one. I wonder if she has it on her RAW channel? I'll have to look through the DVD's she uploaded on there. If not, it might be a good idea for me to order it.

Roselyn & Doreen - Great job with your workouts!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Good Afternoon,

It is snowing here probably have 3” so far and it’s still com down I don’t think spring will ever get here. There is a problem with my unemployment my account has been flagged because I need to prove who I am even though I have all ready received two weeks worth and I don’t know how long it will take take and I really need the money. With my first name I have had to prove a couple of times I am a U. S citizen even though I was born and raised in Kansas.

Debbie-I tried that bronzer and I like it. I don’t know if I can wait until the 18th to apply at Sephora so I might have to apply at pharmacy even though I don’t want to.

Yesterday I got stung by two bees on my arm and it is very sore and swollen. Two weeks ago, I got stung on my finger. My backyard is full of bees from all of the plants and flowers. I do not mind because Bee Venom therapy is very good for your neurological system, so I suppose I will feel better in the long run. I am tired today, so I am taking a rest day. Since I was off for 4 weeks, I need to ramp up my workouts, 5 days per week is not doable right now. I will shoot for 4 days of workouts this week. My son is driving home from college today, I am excited to see him!

Debbie, great job on the workout today! Weird about your knee making those noises, sometimes it is just air getting released. FJB is the flag I fly outside the front of my house; it drives my liberal neighbors nuts LOL! I also fly a flag that says, "don't blame us, we voted for Trump"! The Amazon and UPS drivers love it, they always comment on it when they deliver my packages.

Cam, Nice job on the workout.

Diane Sue, My muscle spasms and nerve pain is caused by my Para Thyroid under preforming and I have had laser treatment to rejuvenate it as well as taking a glandular supplement and Calcium as well as Vit K2 and D. I hope you feel back to normal soon.

Belinda, have a nice rest day.

Roselyn, great job on the workout yesterday.

Make it a great day.

I did an IFit Cycle workout this morning with a new trainer/paraolymian. Oh man does he have a story to tell! And he hasn't even talked anything about how he lost his leg. His childhood was rough! The workout was just an endurance ride - nothing too strenuous - probably because he was talking a lot!

Hi,

Today I did Heather R. D48 LB SS. We also went for a short walk with Sadie.

Debbie - the weather was missable yesterday. I just didn't had the energy to workout. It was a rest day on the rotation anyway. I do like Kiki's ebook. The bundle was ebooks only. It was a very good deal, IMO! I still haven't downloaded all the ebooks. You do get a year to download all of them. I probably will not sign up again for FOK's again. I only can do so many recipes. I really don't want to buy a physical cook book anymore. I love Kiki's cheese sauce. I add my own ingredients. Even DH loves the sauce. I need to make some tomorrow. I did see the sweet potato recipe. It looks very good.

Jolie - hope you had a great rest day today.

Great job everyone.

Good night.

It has been a busy day and I have to get up for PT but thought I would check in and read posts before I go to bed. It is supposed to snow and I am hoping I do not have to wake my husband to take me to PT. He hardly got sleep since he works nights. We took his car to drop off for service and update his navigation system. It did not go well as when he got home our area was still not on the navigation system. No turnpike. It looks like you are driving in the air. Then when they changed the oil they had torn off his parking sticker for work and stuck the oil change sticker where it was. He had to call them when he got home. I did Ice Low Impact sweat #2, no using weights though. This was 27 minutes, heart rate 118/137, 126 calories, 2018 steps. I only used one riser and only did arm movement that we have done in PT, but slower pace.

Jolie, I like your flags. I heard on TV tonight that we get a lot of our fertilizer from Russia and they have cut us off. This will probably show up in the grocery cost eventually. It is a struggle for farmers along with fuel costs. I am glad we moved closer to my husband's work. I purchased Life Extension Bone Restore that has K2, magnesium, calcium, boron, manganese and zinc. I just had to order another bottle. I thought it would help with my recovery along with some other things I am taking.

Belinda, nice that you had a rest day and I hope the workout today went well. Sometimes we just need that rest day. I have downloaded E books with recipe plans and so many digital copies of cookbooks and nutrition stuff. I need a list of favorite recipes and which cookbook it is in.

Debbie, I do not know if I have done that Kelly stretch. Is it recent? I saw CDorner had a new upper body stretch that I wanted to check out. At least it was recent, but sometimes she notes that a workout is from an earlier date. I think it is not always serious if you hear popping noises when you move. At least as long as it is not hurting at the same time. I told the PT I could hear a lot of crackling when I first started moving my arms up and down. He kind of laughed and said he thought he could hear some crackling as well. I must be doing a lot better as I do not hear it so much anymore.

Roxy, it would be nice if you got a job at Sephora. It sounds like more fun than a pharmacy. I would probably spend too much of my earning at Sephora though. I ordered an Anastasia eye pale pink matte eyeshadow and really like it. Wish it came in a case though. I looked at the others you mentioned and could not find the shade I was looking for in matte. It seems every time I look for the right shade of pale pink, they are either peachy pink that tends to have too much yellow in it for me, or mauvy colored. I ordered the Anastasia off of Amazon.

Dorene , nice work. Does the guy ride a bike?

Cam, I have the Athletic conditioning workouts for younger adults and have done that stretch quite a lot. Nice work with Penny Bradshaw.

Roselyn, nice job with the trampoline workout.

Good morning,

Day 49 Tabata Cardio and abs is done.

DD is staying through the weekend.

Diane - I bought the bundle of ebooks which has a 112 ebooks. Lots of vegan recipes to go through. I am excited to finally own Kiki's and High Carb Hannah's ebooks. Both where in the bundle. There are a lot of cooking classes in the bundle too. Can't wait to go through them all. Glad you feeling better.

Have a wonderful day and workout everyone.

I really wanted to do a good cardio workout this morning but thought better of it since my knee still feels weird. It's actually really weird how there is no pain but when I go to kneel down (which I can't kneel at all) but bending down like that and putting my weight on my knee when it's bent, hurts a bit. So I just walked on my treadmill and did that for 35 minutes, burned 152 calories, went 2.07 miles (which isn't right, TM said 1.81), did 4303 steps and HR was 85/104.

I have my spelling bee tonight and we are supposed to get a trace to 3" of snow. Why does it have to do this everytime I have something going on? I'm so sick of this winter, I wish it were done already. So now I have to deal with that. Oh well, hopefully we won't get much.

Roxie - Wow on you having issues with unemployment due to your first name. Would you mind telling me what it is, I'm curious. I was born in Italy but on American military base and am a U.S. Citizen. All my paperwork, though, is from Italy. I've never applied for unemployment, but I've never had an issue getting my drivers license or anything like that. If you have a birth certificate, why can't they see you are a U.S. Citizen? Weird. I hope you can get that worked out soon. And hopefully you can get into Sephora soon as well. Good luck!!

Jolie - I don't know if getting stung by bees is good for you. I heard that the more you get stung, the more allergic you can become of the sting which can cause dire issues. My husband was stung by several bees at one time last summer and about passed out. He has never had a reaction to bee stings before. Anyways, that sucks that you got stung, that hurts! LOL on the flags, I've wanted to get some of those for my flag pole. We need to do that.

Roselyn - Great job on your trampoline workout!! How is your mom doing?

Doreen - Interesting how the trainers talk about their lives, that is very inspiring. Sounds like you are really enjoying those workouts.

Belinda - I'd be interested to see what you add to your cheese sauce. For some reason lately mine hasn't had much flavor, not sure what I should add. Maybe I'm just used to it. Let me know what else you add to it.

Diane - That is ridiculous that the place that updated your husband's car did that with the sticker. WTH? And it sounds like they made the issue worse not better. I'm glad my DH works on our cars although when it comes to the computer things, he can't do that. So frustrating to have to deal with that. Hope the snow stops where you are. We are getting it this afternoon. Kelly's Athletic Stretch is sort of recent. It's a good one for lower body. She does a stretch for shoulders but it's a stretch I don't care to do so I substitute. She holds all the stretches for 2 minutes. Her dog Jersey is in there with her. He's a beautiful dog.

Well, you all have a wonderful weekend!! I have a wedding shower to go to tomorrow. Not really looking forward to that. Oh well....
