Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2022!!

A gorgeous day! I took the day off of work and took a long walk with my dog and did Michelle Briehler Total Body Compound Cardio & Strength Trisets. I really liked this and the compound weight work was well balanced. it was pretty challenging. 2 rounds of each triset.

Unfortunately, this beautiful weather is coming to an end. Tomorrow it's supposed to be cold and rainy.

Good workouts everyone!

This morning I did CDorner Fast Basic Step that she did at noon, 47 minutes, heart rate 120/147, 216 calories, 3,622 steps. This was all doable for me except rotating my arm in circles front to back. I just lifted them overhead from front or rolled shoulders a bit and moved arms. I then did CDorner Full body mobility and stretch from a few days ago. I modified during down dog and what is usually called thread the needle. The PT said he could see why that would be uncomfortable. He asked what moves I had problems with. During some of it when modifying, I just did some child pose, which is what Chris mentions, and also some V sits holding the position. she did not spend a long time doing down dog on this one. This was 29 minutes, heart rate 85/104, 60 calories. Total time was 1 hour 17 minutes, 276 calories, 3,678 steps.

Cam, we had just bought a new machine a few months before we moved to this house. It already had an KLG washer and dryer set that was new in it and the washing machine has a larger tub than the other so we gave it to my oldest daughter whose washer was getting ready to go out. These wash so fast and I like that I can get more water in the machine than my older one that was clanking all over the place. It felt like I was trying to get clothes clean in a puddle of water. I even got my dog's giant My Pillow dog bed crammed in this one. I don't wash it often though. Just the cover most of the time as I keep a giant plastic gift bag for bicycles over the pillow inside. Thanks on the workout suggestion. Funny, the name burpee girl you don't think low impact standing workouts. I tried to preview a couple of workouts before I started this morning, but, they both had things I did not think I could do yet. CDorner had one that I was interested in that used a pilates ball and was abs and lower body, but she was using a dumbbell for the lower body and she did say though that you could do the moves without a dumbbell. I did not check all of it out though. The other I checked was a Coffey Fit Raw one and after watching I saw she was hitting the floor for part of the cardio moves. It rained all day here today and still may be a little tomorrow with cooler temps. Thankfully it will be warm and sunny the rest of the week. I have someone coming to spray the lawn for weeds Wednesday.

Belinda, thanks for the suggestion for Heather Robertson's workouts. I wondered how you did it with your knees like they are. Nice work with Day 56 week 12 today.

Roxie, nice that you got out for a walk. I started some yard work this weekend. Glad I got some of it done as it has rained most of the day today. I needed to get out there and trim some flowering plants and feed them. I always liked Urban Decay products. I used to keep an eyeshadow primer that had a yellow tint to it that was great from neutralizing redness.

Debbie, nice workout today. I get a bit confused when I look at the workouts. I am thinking that one is a bit older one?

Doreen, it is something that we really do take for granted all of these wonderful appliances and gadgets that make life so much easier. My daughter and son have both gotten the robotic vacuums. We could
have used that when I couldn't do anything. My husband did the vacuuming when he could, but having a dog that loves to go roll in the dry grass and shake when she comes in doggie door or sneak to the bedroom, makes it hard to keep up with.

Jolie, nice work with the weights and getting in some treadmill today. Your weight workout looks good.
I have been looking at some IT cosmetics 4 in one lipstick. I just got a Clinique lipstick that has primer and color, and I read was longwearing, but it is off not too long after I put it on. I like Benefit gel eyeliner. It works well on my blond eyebrows since they are also kind of sparse. Tarte primer foundation in a tube is nice for outdoors as it is really light and has a good amount of sunscreen in it. I use it when I know I am going to be outside a long time, or when I go to the pool. We don't have a pool at this house though. It also works nice under the regular foundation, but you can wear it either way.

So yesterday my knee felt the workout I did but not to a point where it caused pain or swelling. However, I had a meeting yesterday and when I went to sit at the stupid table we have in our conference room, I bashed my knee - yes, the one I'm having issues with - into the brace of the table. Holy crap did that hurt!! Brought tears to my eyes, actually. It was hurting after that and last night I iced it. Today it seems ok but it's definitely still not 100%. Pissed me the hell off. :(

This morning I did RAW Heavy Bag/Shadow Box with Kelly and her son Zach. I really love this workout because there is hardly any lower body movement or work. It's mostly punching drills and it really gets your HR up. There is really cool music in this one too, at about 19 minutes in there is this awesome violin thing going on and it's so cool to listen too.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 400 calories (loving this Garmin!), did 3147 steps and HR was 152/181. I wonder why there is such a difference between Garmin and FB? I also wonder which one is actually the most accurate. I've never burned 400 calories with even an hour of running. Oh well, I like these numbers better than any of the devices I've had in the past!!

Diane - That strength workout I did yesterday is an older one. It's under her Strength category. I think it should be under Cardio/Weights. Great job with your step workout, so glad you are able to finally do something! I can see why thread the needle would be hard for you to do. I hate that stretch.

Jolie - Great workout yesterday! The only product I use from Charlotte Tilbury is the Hollywood Contour Wand, love that. I want to order another one but they are out of stock on Sephora. I'm really getting sick of not being able to get stuff, it's very frustrating. I don't just mean makeup, that is not a necessity, but food, pet food, etc. Ridiculous that you can't get stuff you need anymore. I ordered an all-in-one vitamin for vegan eaters and that's on backorder as well. I wish Trump would kick Biden out of office. LOL!!

Belinda - You are almost done with that rotation, right? I made that vegan cheese with veggie broth and OMG!! Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion!

Roxie - Good luck with your interview today!!!

Cam & Doreen - Nice job with your workouts!!

Roselyn - Hope you are doing well!

Have a great day everyone!!

I did an Ifit cycle this morning - near Leadville CO. Weird route that he picked - of all the places to ride near Leadville this one wasn't terribly exicting.

Hi everyone,

Day 57 TB HiiT is done.

Debbie - you are so welcome! I am glad you like the cheese sauce with veggie broth. I made the white sauce, it's very good. FOK's has one with oats. I will try that one soon. I do like the one you posted a while back. I made her stuffed pasta yesterday. OMG, it was so good. Yes, I have 3 more workouts than I am done with Heather 12 week rotation.

Diane - Heather shows first the high impact than she shows the modification which helps a lot. The ones she does kneeling, I do them all standing. I do step ups instead. I google quit a bit on how to modify some of the moves I can't do them, even if she showed the medications. My knees don't like kneeling, I still have little swelling going on. Nothing too bad. I just done with hurting myself. YT is a great place for modifications. I am so glad you starting to feel better. Great job yesterday.

Great job everyone else.

Have a great day and workout.

Today I had a great workout. I started with a hill workout, 45 minutes all uphill at different inclines and different speeds, traveled 2.6 miles and burned 458 calories. Next, I did my own Shoulders and Biceps workout and I really enjoyed it. I took a 40 second rest in between sets. Total calories burned was 588 and workout time was 1 hour 10 minutes.

Seated Overhead Press- 15's x 16 reps
Seated Arnold Press- 12's x 16
Seated Alternating Overhead Press- 12's x 16
Upright Rows- 10's x 16
Lateral Raises- 5's x 20

1 DB standing Front Raise- 12# x 16

BB Bicep Curls- 25# x 16

Standing Hammer Curls- 10's x 16

Wow, are my Biceps weak feeling!

Debbie, great job with your workout today, that looks like a good one! I use Charlotte Tilbury Tinted Moisturizer and love it. It really is like foundation, which I hate, it cover well with no sight of makeup! Love it! I also use Nars blushes and Chanel lipsticks. I also use IT Cosmetics mascara but do not use it often because I can barely see to put it on, my eyes are so bad even with a magnifying mirror.

Doreen, great workout again, very interesting one's you are finding lately.

Roselyn, great job with the leg workout the other day.

Roxie, good luck with the job interview.

Diane Sue, That is true about boys and laundry! My youngest gets up at 3 am and workouts, then goes to work, then comes home and surfs and then something to sleep in. Oh, and all of those beach towels!!! I hope you get in some good workouts this week.

Belinda, how is Sadie doing lately after that vet visit? My dog is getting really old and starting to move around very slowly lately. Good gob with the workout today.

BBL to read the other posts for the day.

Jolie - thanks for asking about Sadie! She seems to do better. She still has that breathing problem but they are shorter. It's sad to see your dogs getting older. How old is your dog? My son's beagle is almost 14 years old. DS said, she is moving a little slower too. she is a rescue dog. McPie is such a cutie pie :) Miss DS dogs, he has 3. I will see them soon. Great job with your workouts.

Good Afternoon,

I haven’t worked out the last 2 days it’s just so rainy and miserable. I tried to make sure I did the best makeup job ever used my Sydney Grace shadows in greens. I had a pharmacy call today and wants to talk to me they pulled out a resume from a couple of years ago so if things don’t work out today I have a backup I would just have to drive back to where we used to live every day.

Debbie- Sephoras spring sale is next month hopefully they will be restocked on her products. Where I am interviewing today doesn’t even have their stuff set up yet.

Update: I went for my interview and they didn’t have any body available to do it and someone was supposed to call me but didn’t they told me to reschedule through email but that shouldn’t be my responsibility so guessing the beauty industry isn’t for me so it’s back to pharmacy

Today was a rest day, but after work I took my dog for a 2.5 mile walk. Its rainy, windy and cold today, but there was a break from the rain, so I got her out. She was ambitious today, of course when its windy and cold she wants to walk farther.

Time for a beer!

This morning I really wanted to do a good cardio workout, I need to work up a sweat. But with my knee the way it is (although it is much better) I don't want to chance it. I decided to just walk on my treadmill for a while which I actually did break a sweat doing. Not sure why as my HR didn't get all that high at all. But at lest I got a couple miles in!

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 107 calories, went 1.93 miles, did 4936 steps and HR was 77/94. Woo hoo. I hope I can start doing some good cardio soon.

Belinda - Who's stuffed pasta did you make? Plantiful Kiki? If so, is it in her book? I'll have to check it out. Sounds awesome.

Roxie - I'm so sorry about the Sephora interview. WTH? That is just ridiculous. And they wonder why they can't get people to work anymore. Sorry about that. I was really hoping you would get that job. :(

Gotta go, I have a meeting to attend. Hope you all have a great day!

Yesterday was a rest day for me. My left big toe was sore, I just iced it and it is much better today. Depending on what shoes I wear different parts of my feet hurt, so many foot surgeries in the past. I am starting to get a bunion; I use a toe straightener at night to pull it back into the correct position and boy oh boy does that make it sore. Today, it will be 86 degrees I got up early and got out for a walk, absolutely beautiful today. I walked for 82 minutes, traveled 4.65 miles through the hills overlooking the ocean and burned 782 calories. I am wiped out! Walking on the TM is so much easier than walking outside, I suppose it is because it propels you forward with the belt moving the way is does. I am looking forward to warmer weather and more outside walks.

Debbie, great job on the workout yesterday, that is more like it with the calorie burn. At least you got to walk on the TM today with that darn knee issue. I go through that too, a lot of the time. Please let Trump get back into office. Gas is now $7 per gallon here if you go to a gas station, Costco is $6.36 per gallon but the line is an hour long. The Dems just said on the news today that they want us all to NOT drive on Sundays to help with the shortage of oil, What Morons!!! Go Trump 2024! Dems do not know how to govern, they just react to all of the issues they cause.

Doreen, nice Spin workout today.

Roselyn, way to go with the Shoulder workout.

Roxie, sorry about the job interview, a lot of young people manage retail stores and do not have the same values as us old timers LOL! Not calling you to reschedule is unexpectable.

Cam, I hope you enjoyed your rest day. We are very warm right now but next week we are in the 60's again.

Diane Sue, I hope you are doing well.

Have a wonderful day.

Good Evening,

Well they called and I went in at 3 today. It’s only 3-4 days a week 2.50 an hour less than I have been making and I won’t know for a week and won’t start until May 22nd. She told me the dress rules and the only makeup I can wear has to be sold at Sephora.

Today I did Tracy 45 min. No Repeat Full Body Strength & Cardio. Not a fan favorite, but still a good workout. I am going to walk my dog in between rain drops and I think now is my best opportunity. I don't think anyone will be out in this weather. My daughter just got back from Cancun, so tomorrow she will do the dog walks.

I have been feeling really good and seeing strength gains. I keep eyeing up Michelle Dozois's Peak 10 Cardio Strength dvds. I haven't done these in a couple years and they may be too much for me but I may pop one in tomorrow and see if they are worth keeping. I had a love affair with Peak 10. Its hard to see them go, but Michelle is pretty high impact and moves fast.

Roxie, $2.50/hr.?? Is this a commission job? Sephora sounds like a fishy outfit. But I am not in that field, so I what do I know.

Take care everyone!

No workout today. I did PT this morning along with groceries and lawn people out. I am packing things as we are going out of town Friday for our 49th anniversary. Hopefully a workout in the morning. Last night I did CDorner Mish mosh cardio skipping some of the boxing moves, I did some of my own and bob and weave was okay. This was 27 minutes, heart rate 109/131, 109 calories. I followed this with her Mobility chair workout, doing what I could and this was 15 minutes, 35 calories, heart rate 89/105. Total time was 42 minutes, 144 calories. I did not check steps. This helped some of the stiffness from PT yesterday.

Cam, I have rid myself of some workouts that I know I won't be doing. Like Insanity. Generally I forget those workouts as I move on to other stuff. It seems everyone loves Peak 10. I have never done any of Michelle Dozios workouts.

Roxie, that is too bad they pay $2.50 hour less than what you are making. Does the drive to the other area for the Pharmacy job make a difference in how much over all you would be losing? How are they going to know exactly what brand of makeup or products you have on? I guess that means they want you to spend your money at Sephora.

Belinda, I hope you enjoyed your rest day today.

Jolie, nice that you were able to go outside and enjoy a walk today. I heard that about not driving on Sunday. What a silly thing that is.

Debbie, nice choice for a workout today. I hope your knee continues to get better. You got a good amount of steps in walking on the treadmill.

Today I did RAW Box & Pump - the first one. I haven't done this one since Oct. of 2020! What? This is such a great workout and I can't believe I haven't done it in more than two years. This one has Kelly and Lori working out together. Music is good in this one. Very fun workout. I can't say enough how much I love Kelly's workouts.

1 minute each drill

Rows: 15's
W Back Flies: 8's
Overhead press/flies: 8's

Boxing
Supinated Curls
: 15's
Pledges: 10's
Front/Hammer Run Curls: 8's (killer!)

Boxing
Upright Rows:
15's
Bent Elbow Lateral Raise: 10's
Bent Over Flies: 8's

Boxing
Overhead Extension
: 15#
Double Arm Kickbacks: 8's
Dips

Boxing
Chest Press:
15's
Flies: 12's
Face Plant Push Ups

Squats:
10's
Back Lunges: 10's
Scales: 20's

I was going to skip the leg work but my knee feels ok today so I just did them very carefully with light weights. Workout was 52 minutes, burned 429 calories, did 3045 steps and HR was 136/165.

Jolie - You sound like you have as many feet problems as I do. I've had surgery as well. I hate my feet. I am in search of comfy dress shoes for this spring and summer. I need to get to a store so I can try them on. I love Sketchers and they have such cool styles now. I might go this weekend to see if I can find any. I need wides or I can't wear them as I also have bunions. Our gas prices are around $4.09 right now. Some stations are at $4.05. Re-effing-diculous! So sick of all this crap.

Belinda - I will check out that recipe. Love her recipes, they are all so good. Do you do the bowl meals like she does? I'm not a big fan of bowl meals. I guess it's because I'm not a real big salad eater. I need to become one, though.

Roxie - That is fantastic!!! I'm happy for you!! Hopefully you can stay there for a while. I hope you enjoy it. Makes sense that you'd have to wear the makeup Sephora sells. That shouldn't be a problem, right? Wink wink! LOL!!! Can you wait that long to start, though? If you are getting unemployment right now it shouldn't be a problem, right?

Cam - Roxie said $2.50 less than what she was making as a pharmacist. Not $2.50 an hour. That's the rate they pay in the Chinese sweatshops! LOL!! Great job with your workout and I'm so glad you are feeling stronger!

Diane - Good job with your workout, hope you can get one in this morning. Happy anniversary! Wow, 49 years! That is amazing!! I'm so glad you are finally healing and getting on with moving and working out. I'm sure you are as well. It takes time, but you are getting there!!

Hope you all have great workouts today!

Cam - I also love Michelle Dozios but it is very intense. I try to modify the Peaks to low impact and that helps. The way it moves to the music is just fun. Very different than the current interval based stuff now.

Yesterday I did legs with the bobsledder - ok workout. This moring I did an IFit cycle - the Columbine hill ascend of the Leadville 100 race that the instructor said he has done many times. It was hard but I know for a fact doing the actual hill would be 100x worse! I don't know how he was continuing to talk to us!!

Hi,

This morning I ran some errands. I just got my workout in Glute Activation + Lower Body Strength // Day 58 HR12WEEK 2.0.

Debbie - let me know how you like the recipe or can't find it. Great job this morning.

Diane - enjoy your weekend. Happy anniversary!

Have a great day and workout.

This morning I did Burpeegirl Low Impact Hiit that she put up today, 35 minutes, heart rate 131/161, 194 calories, 2,686 steps. I liked this and it was all doable. Even her boxing moves as they were more light moves and not hard punches. I did adjust angles of the movements though. Seems weird with not talking. The music was decent. I then did her Standing abs which is more like a light cardio. 19:45 minutes, heart rate 111/128, 84 calories, 2020 steps. I finished with Raw Athetic stretch, 27 minutes, heart rate 82/97, 49 calories. Total time was 82 minutes, 327 calories, and steps for the cardio and standing abs was 4,706 steps.
I am not sure I will be around this weekend. I think the bed and breakfast has internet, but this is all in the setting of a romantic weekend and we purchased the romantic package and anniversary package. I will post when we get home.

Cam, thanks for the suggestion for Burpeegirl. This worked really well for me. I have never heard of her.

Debbie, that is a really fun Kelly workout and the music is fun. I always thought Sketchers had cute shoes, but any I ever tried were tight in the toes and hurt my feet. I do not think I ever looked for wide shoes though. I would like some dressier comfortable shoes. My husband got me some Dansko flats that are cute and a suede leather. I have worn them quite a bit, but wish I had some that were not suede. I love the look of heels, but just cannot wear much of a heel. I need something for my two granddaughters weddings.

Doreen, nice work with the Columbine Hill ride today.

Belinda, nice work on Day 58. Thanks on the anniversary wishes.

Jolie, Roxie, and Roselyn, I hope you can get in workouts today. If not a nice rest day.
