Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2022!!

Well, I did Michelle Dozois More Cardio Strength. I used a set of 5's & 8's for most of the strength work with 10's here and there. I didn't have trouble subbing low impact like I thought I would and she does do some low impact in the cardio. I got a great workout. I forgot how challenging these workouts are. It's funny, she says watch Jackie for modifications, but she is barely shown and barely does any low impact.

Diane, glad Burpee Girl helped you out. I think I put standing low impact cardio in YT search engine and she came up. She has some good ones.

Debbie, your Chinese sweatshop comment cracked me up!! I really read that wrong, didn't I? Good workout. Glad you're knee is better.

Doreen, way to rock the Ifit workouts.

This morning I walked on my treadmill and then did RAW Athletic Stretch - only the leg part. I love this stretch and it actually makes my knee feel so much better. I think I have a muscular thing going on with the problem I'm experiencing. I can't help but think I twisted it somehow and pulled a muscle on the side of my knee. Just can't figure out why it takes so damn long for my muscles to heal. Very frustrating.

I walked for 30 minutes, burned 89 calories, went 1.53 miles, did 3685 steps and HR was 80/97.

I don't know what to think about my treadmill/walking workouts. I guess it is possible I only burned 89 calories but I was on an incline doing a fairly quick pace. My HR definitely felt like it was above 97 bpm. My treadmill said I burned 192 calories. At least the mileage is right now that I calibrated it the last time I walked and it seems to be spot on now.

Belinda - Not sure when I will make that recipe, but I will and I will let you know. :)

Doreen - That workout sounds interesting. I'm glad you are enjoying those.

Diane - Who is Burpeegirl? I'll need to check that out. Sounds like something I wouldn't want to even try with the name "burpee" in her name! LOL!! Good job with your workout! How did you like Athletic Stretch? It's a good one, I enjoy it, especially the lower body part. Not sure you will even see this but have a GREAT weekend! Just relax and enjoy your time with your DH!! And I can't wear any type of heal either.

Roselyn - Great workout, I haven't done a Caroline workout in a while. I might do one soon.

Cam - LOL on the sweatshop joke. I was like, I think that's illegal to pay someone that low here in the states. But you never know! Great job with your workout!! You are killing it lately!

Today I was just dragging but finally hauled myself out of bed to do upperbody. Just some straighforward Chest, back, shoulders, bis and tris. Kailegh on IFit. Nothing fancy.

You guys I did something funny... I bought an adult kickscooter!!! You know like a grown up version of a razor all the kids have. I normally have to park and walk to the office and back a couple blocks each day. So today I scootered to the office!! LOL - my daughter says I look like a weirdo but I figured they have all these electric scooters you can rent downtown and people buzz around on those so why not!!?

I am also dragging today. Didn't sleep well last night. Yesterday I got my 3rd vaccine, I will get the booster in 3 month. I was nauseous and had a slight headache all afternoon and through out the night. My arm hurts too. I am glad when this is over.

Today I did Heather D59 Tabata cardio & abs.

Debbie - next time I make the recipe I will cook the brown noodles a little longer, cover it when you put it in the oven. The noodles some of them were a little hard to eat, IMO!

Cam - nicely done yesterday. I haven't done a M.D in ages. The impact is too high for my likings. Her speed is very fast if I remember correctly.

Roselyn - nice job yesterday.

Roxie - sorry about the job interview. You will find something better.

Yesterday my mom had to be rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, she had excruciating back pain and leg pain. Let me just say, what a nightmare the emergency rooms are, overflowing and too few people to work. So many people have opted not to get the vaccine, good for them, that they were forced to work elsewhere. Anyway, she is alright, she had a bladder infection which made her bladder inflame and it put pressure on some nerves. They were so rude to both my mother and my dad, he almost got arrested because they would not allow him to see her and, don't ever tell my 89-year-old dad he cannot see his wife while in pain. Two security guards were called on my dad to have him escorted out to the car. I smell lawsuit! We had no idea what the issue was, her blood pressure was through the roof, and we thought she was having a heart attack, so you can understand the urgency to see her. She has had a heart attack before, she had similar symptoms. She came home at 5am and we are all exhausted. I might try to walk today but right now I am too tired. Yesterday and today have to be my rest days for the week.

Debbie, your knee can hurt if you have tight hip flexors and or quads, so stretching will probably help with the issue. I have the same issue and my chiro has taught me how to fix it with stretching.

Belinda, I hope you feel better soon.

Doreen, the scooter sounds like so much fun! They are used in the cities all of the time so no you are not going to look weird.

Crappy weather again today. I did Michelle Briehler PiYo. It was 50 min. and the time flew. I am getting the moves down and don't have to keep looking at what she's doing. Its a nice break from strength and Hiit type workouts. Plus I get that mobility stretching in.

Jolie, UTI's are so common with elderly women. Glad your mom came home and is doing ok. My mom was in emergency with 2 this Summer and Fall. The 1st time I couldn't go in because of covid. One nurse snuck me in just so I could see her. I think the medical profession has gotten so cold with the whole covid protocol. I could go on about my displeasure with the whole mask covid rules and the hypocrisy that I see, but I will refrain.

Sounds like we all need some rest. Hope everyone had a good weekend.
 
Whew- I slept in this morning and it felt great! I did the last strength workout with Kallie Humphries on Ifit - lower body supersets.

NO REPEATS Full Body HIIT Workout // DAY 60 HR12WEEK 2.0 is done. I finished the 12 week rotations. It was a lot of fun. Not sure, what I will do next? I will see what Heather comes up next. I also did SBF hip mobility. My hips are tight.

Jolie - I am sorry about your mom. I hope she feels better soon.

Cam - I need to check that PlYo workout out. I need more mobility stretching.

Today I am feeling really good, I got a good night's sleep. We are supposed to get a big rainstorm on Monday so I got outside and got a good walk in while the weather is still beautiful. Walk was 1 hour 26 minutes and I traveled 4.4 miles through the hills. There was a mountain biker that had a terrible spill and the fire department was rescuing him off the trial. It did not look good, what a horrible way to start the day, at least he had all of the safety equipment on so that was good. Anyway, I burned 698 calories.

Doreen, a great night's sleep really does a body good! Way to go on the workout today.

Belinda, great job getting the workout done today.

Cam, My mom is on blood pressure meds so I think that can contribute to the UTI infection. Great job on the workout yesterday, I really need to do more stretching myself!

This morning I did LITE Pyramid Pump Total Body Premix. 50 min. 3 sets of each exercise. I really like this premix. The leg sets really got my heart rate up.

Lousy weather again today. It feels like winter, not spring. Doing cleaning and organizing this weekend. Time to get rid of clothes and clean out the closet. My brother and SIL are coming in a couple weeks and I need to get the bedroom and bath ready. They are coming from AZ. I don't think the weather will be good.

Belinda, I am going to do that HR this next week. I didn't feel like cardio today, but I like the looks of that one.

Jolie & Doreen, good workouts. Its usually quiet here on the weekend. Glad everyone got workouts in.

Today I did a Cathe Live that I had purchased, one of my all-time favorites, All In Upper Body and had a great workout. I am shocked how much strength that I have lost in the last couple of months with this back issue limiting my weight workouts, but I am BACK! Workout was 55 minutes and I burned 402 calories. I was dripping by the end, I haven't lifted this much in one workout in awhile. Now, lets see how my back did, I went at my own pace and had to sub out a couple of exercises to suit my situation, but all in all, I had a great workout. Heart rate was 126 and max was 166.

Belinda, nice job on the Barre stretch this morning and have fun it you get to see your DIL and DD this weekend.

Cam, great workout last night! I have to clean out my closets as well, I try to do it 2 times per year. I have a lot of old workout cloths I could donate as well as old jeans and sweaters. I hate to wear jeans now, amazing since that was my go to piece of clothing for years. There are just so darn uncomfortable compared to all of these new fabrics that stretch. I hate jeans that stretch because they tend to ride down as I walk. I hope your weather improves and you get some warm days with sunny skies.

This morning I did RAW 4 Day Split Chest and Back and had a great workout. I went somewhat light because of all the issues I continually seem to deal with.

This was 1 minute per exercise going slow and controlled.

BACK
Lat Pulldown
: 10's (this was done standing, tough exercise)
Reverse Pec Deck or Scap Squeeze: 10's/8's
Lawn Mower: 25#/22.5#
Repeat

CHEST
Moderated Pullover/Close Grip Press
: 12's
W Bench Press: 12's (this is tough)
Dumbbell Flies: 15's
Repeat

This was about 25 minutes

Then I did the Boxing Finisher and used my 2# hand weights. This was 15 minutes.

Both workouts equaled 42 minutes, burned 339 calories, did 1998 steps and HR was 128/171.

Great job with your workouts this weekend, everyone! I don't have time for personals because I have a stupid team building meeting this morning and then a lunch work meeting which I'm looking forward to. Have a great day everyone!
 
Took the dog for a longish walk yesterday and then did a IFit recovery ride with Ryan Petry in Creste Butte this morning. My son got back from spring break late Saturday. They did Arches National Park and Canyonlands. There were three of them on the trip and it sounded like they had a good time!
 
Today is a rest day. I am sore from yesterday's upper body workout.

Debbie, way to go on the workout today. I am going to start kickboxing again and cannot wait to use my hand weights, but only 1 pound because I am weak now LOL!

Doreen, I am glad to hear that your son had a great trip. Nice job on the dog walk and the workout.

Good Afternoon,

I went for 1.80 mile walk today started to take the dog but she slipped out of her harness and I had to chase her down. I didn’t workout at all last week with the whole interview debacle I just felt out of sorts and it was cold again it just doesn’t seem to want to warm up.
 
Tonight I did Michelle Briehler Total Body Kickbox & Compound Strength. Typically I hate kickboxing because it usually involves too much punching and I get bored. But this workout was tough, fun and sweaty. This woman is so creative with how she puts a workout together. This was almost an hour.
Kickbox 40/10 2 rounds
Compound Strength 45/15 3 rounds
Kickbox Hiit 30/10 3 rounds
Core 50/10 (5 moves, no repeats)

Jolie, you should try this workout. I think you would like it.
