Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Jan 2024

Today I did Raw Hi/Lo Sculpt, 32 minutes, 127 calories, heart rate 111/133. I then did Raw TBTS Sculpt: Cardio, 19 minutes, heart rate 122/153 95 calories, and finished off with Raw Stretch Flow 20 minutes, 37 calories. I really felt the Cardio would have been more calories today though. Maybe because I have had this cold which is driving me nuts. So tired lately. Total time was 71 minutes, 259 calories, 3,065 steps.

Raw Hi/Lo Sculpt
32 minutes total time. Can wear a weighted vest if you like. 1 moderate dumbbell needed.

There are two rounds of the moves
warm up
squat/front raise/upright row started with 8# dumbbell (option if bothers shoulders is to do a curl instead)
high move jump from side to side, low side squat knee up
pick up weight/reveres lunge/curl all on right then all on left 10# db
high impact lunge jump switch or low impact lunge twice then switch option for reverse lunge for knees
close squat kickback 10# db Kitty does a harder version they called an airplane which I think needs a lighter dumbbell
high impact step out high jump or low impact step out going wider 3 times and return
shift side lunge overhead triceps extension 10# db
side steps
repeat all moves then a short stretch

Debbie, your poor mother. I don't blame her for not wanting to leave her house though. I hope the part comes in quickly. 59 degrees is cold. Our gas fireplace has saved us a few times when power outages and furnace failure happened. I had to go back and search for that workout to do it after I saw it on the computer. I have done the one I did today before. Kelly does the lower impact and has Kitty do the hi and harder versions on moves like the airplane kickback she did. Kelly says Kitty can do it because she is in her 30's LOL. My husband said the 40 degrees we got yesterday felt like a heat wave. Supposed to get down to 12 tonight. Rain hits this weekend, but so far it will get above freezing during the day. Hopefully!!

Roselyn, nice work doing tabata and abs today yesterday was chest/shoulders today.

Cam, nice work on Penny 45 min. Strength X Cardio No Repeat. That is too cold to walk a dog. I stay in the house unless I need to go out to get the mail.

Belinda, good job on CL# 477 Box and Burn. I had a lot of problems with cross back lunges when I had the torn meniscus. I still have to be careful of those and twist and turns off the sides of the step. It bothers my knees. The feeling good kind of comes and goes. It is hard to sleep. I sat down after dinner and fell asleep last night and my husband slipped out of the room to let me sleep.

Jolie, nice work getting in the walk yesterday and today's CL All In Upper Body. I still have not purchased egg weights. I just use dumbbells or weighted gloves. Sometimes I hold some little sand bag like shoe weights I go years ago that are 1 lb. They fit in my palm. I think they quit making them because they were not good for people's feet or something. They had holes to run through the shoestrings.

Tonight I did CL #408 Low Impact Cardio & Leg Express. Worked a long day so wanted something quick. This packed a punch in 30 min.

Diane, my dog loves this cold weather. We walk her in this weather for about a half hour. She can handle it. It's hard getting her in the house sometimes. I just worry that she will get stuck in the snow in our yard. She burrows through the snow to find mice. Its an obsession with her.

Tomorrow is a rest day. Maybe a walk after work. At least the days are getting a little longer.

Good workouts everyone! Have a good weekend.

My DH was able to get my mom's furnace up and running yesterday. We got hte part from Amazon at 6 p.m. She was ok but it was cold in that house. We put a heating in her living room that did ok and she stayed under blankets and a heating pad most of the day. I felt so bad for her but she is stubborn and wouldn't come to our house or my brothers house. I need to call her to make sure all is still working.

I get to work from home today, we are having a snow storm and our building is closed. So Yay!

This morning I did RAW High/Low Cardio 2 and had a great workout. I like this one, I remember doing it before but stopped after two circuits. Today I did all three. Fun stuff!! Some moves (on the floor) sucked, but I did as much as I could.

9 moves/3 rounds/1 minute each

Caterpillar pushups/walk in and out
2 Jacks/Knee, Kick
Jab Cross 4, Hook, Up - 1.5# egg weights
Jog back, Squat forward
Squat out right/left, Jack 4 - Green cloth band
Pendulum 3/Knee
Plank, jump right, side star - then other side
6 Jabs Right, then Left
4 Circle Jumps/4 Side Steps - Green Cloth Band

After the 3 rounds she does some standing ab work

Workout was 48 minutes, burned 400 calories (holy moly!), did 3585 steps and HR was 133/179.

Belinda - Great job with Box & Burn, sounds like a fun one!! I remember sitting hurt my knee as well, must be the angle it's in while sitting. Hope it is feeling a bit better now.

Jolie - Great job with your CL workout. You will love the egg weights, I love mine. I'd like to get a 2# pair but not sure I want to waste my money for .5 more pounds. They make a huge difference in the workout, though.

Diane - Great job with Hi/Lo Sculpt, I like that one and the Sculpt Cardio one. The one I did today was fun, it isn't something I'd do weekly, but it was fun. Yea, I don't blame my mom for not wanting to leave her house. She is almost blind and doesn't know our house really well. But it was pretty cold in that house when we went back in the evening. I'm shocked on how cold you guys are, I always thought your state stayed warm during the winter months. Or at least in the 60's.

Cam - Great job with your workout and funny about your dog! LOL!

Roselyn - Good job with quad and hammies!

Have a great day everyone and happy weekend!!!

Hi,

I did CL # 445 Lucky Seven UB.I enjoy her live workouts.

Debbie - sitting isn‘t good for my knee. Thank you. I will give it another week before I make an appointment with my doctor. Great job today.

Diane - those cross back lunges gets me all the time. I think I twisted my knee that day. I have to be more carful with my workouts. Sometimes I forget about my knee until it‘s to late. Good job yesterday.

Great job ladies.

Today I did Raw Lift with Cardio Acceleration #4 that just popped up on the Raw channel. This was 30 minutes, heart rate 122/150, 142 calories, 1,354 steps. I then did Raw TBTS Strength Lower Body, 16 minutes, heart rate 106/127, 61 calories. I finished with CDorner Day 26 After Leg Workout Stretches, 15 minutes, 23 calories. Cam, nice job on CL #408 Low Impact Cardio & Leg Express. That is funny about your dog. When mine was a pup she loved burrowing in the snow and coming back in with it flying all over. Now she just goes out takes care of her needs and runs back in the house. She would rather lie in front of the fireplace.

Roselyn, nice work on Quads and Hammies.

Debbie, great job on the Raw Hi/Lo Cardio. I am glad you got the part for your mother heater. Her house was pretty cold. We generally get some around zero temps each year. Although we are usually more prone to sleet and ice instead of snow. Once in a while we have a mild winter though. Usual cold is January and February. Years ago when we moved here there was a heavy snowstorm in October. Today it got to 23 outside and the winds kicked up.

Belinda, I do the same thing. I get to moving along and forget to modify the move. Most of the time the modifying happens out of habit though.

Good Evening,

We got more snow overnight and today the high was 12 degrees with a north wind making it colder, so tired of the cold. I did TBTS Pull then a 50 minute 2.22 mile walk on the treadmill.

This morning I did CL #290 Total Body Fit. 56 min. Wow! I swore a lot at Cathe. This really burns out each muscle group. She plays with rep patterns in this. She uses a barbell and weights. I don't own a barbell and never felt I needed one. It kinda feels like a RIP workout. I loved this and I was breathing hard 10 min into it. Surprisingly, the hour went quick. I highly recommend this one. I should send an apology to Cathe for my language towards her.

Last night my husband and I took our dog on a walk in a park. The path was plowed and we were the only 2 idiots out in 10 degrees. She loved it. If you dress for it its not bad. The face is what I needed protection. Glad I brought a scarf. It was nice not having the dog on a leash and didn't have to worry about salt getting in her paws. She's so good and waits for us to catch up. It felt good walking outside, though. I never got cold.

I agree Roxie, I am tired of the cold. I want the roads cleared of the snow too. Some roads it feels like I am driving on railroad tracks. They're so bumpy. Ugh! But 40's headed our way towards the end of next week.
.
Well we'll see what the Packers do today. I think we are going to get slaughtered. I am afraid to watch.

Stay warm everyone!

Evening,

I was supposed to do a mobility workout today.I am declutterring/getting rid of things and cleaning my bedrooms and bathroom today. I also cleaned out Sadie‘s closet and clothes. Got a lot done today. I have a donation pick up next week. Need to get these things out of my house. Things I haven‘t used in 2 years but kept it just in case, lol. It‘s going to the donation.

Great job everyone,

This morning I did RAW Lift w/CardioAcceleration #4 and had a great workout. This one was fun except the squat thrusters, but I did what I could. That move is really hard on my shoulders and traps which is where I always have tightness issues.

I used my step with 2 risers and each exercise was 50 seconds on/10 seconds off. This is a 30 minute workout.

Circuit 1
Gorilla Row: 15's (could have went way heavier, next time I will)
Reverse Lunges: 15's
Triple Inner Thigh/Squats
Repeat

Circuit 2
Lateral Raise/Front Raise: 8's
Side Lunges: 8's
2 Knee/Jacks
Repeat

Circuit 3
Overhead Triceps Extension: 15#
Left/Right Goblet Squats: 15#/15's
Squat Thrusts off Step
Repeat

Circuit 4
Supinated Hammer Curls: 15's
Kickstand Deadlifts: 15's
2 Low Jack/2 Rear Kicks
Repeat

Then I did RAW Box &Tone but had to skip the last segment due to time. This one is a total of 20 minutes. I really thought I had enough time to do it all, sort of bummed me out. Oh well.

Workout was 50 minutes total, burned 412 calories, did 2000 steps and HR was 130/159.

Jolie - You would love these two workouts, especially Box and Tone, you have to try them. I sure hope you have your RAW subscription by now.

Great job on your workouts everyone!! You did great this weekend. It's still snowy and cold here but it's supposed to be 50 by Thursday. Heat wave!!

No workout today. My senior dog Rusty the one in my photo here is in for surgery this morning and I am too stressed out to do anything but clean the house. He turned 17 on Saturday so he is not a spring chicken going in for surgery. He has cancer Melanoma in his mouth and they have to take it out. He had the surgery 2 years ago but it grew back. He should be fine but I am a wreak. Yesterday I walked on my TM for 5 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes and burned 678 calories. Saturday I did the two KCM RAW kickboxing workouts that I did at the beginning of the week with my 1.5# egg weights. Tomorrow I will be back at it in the gym.

Debbie, fantastic workout today! I will definitely do the box and tone workout and so many more in the coming weeks. I will sign up today, I just have not had time to do much the past few days. I look forward to trying all of the workouts that you have liked in the past.

Great job on the workouts over the weekend everyone!

Make it a great day!

Evening,

CL# 399 PHA SS w/the ball is done. I may sign up for another month of CL not OnDemand.

Jolie - I would be a mess too. How did Rusty surgery went today? I hope he is doing well.

Great job everyone. Dh and I are very busy to declutter/simplify our lives. I have a donation pick up tomorrow. I decided not to do a sitting room in the 4th bedroom. I am donating it all. I am also busy washing winter clothers for the homeless shelter I plan on dropping off this week.

Time to relax. Have a great evening.

This morning it's icy out so our schools are closed AGAIN and I can work from home.

I did RAW Total Body Drop Sets and had a great workout. This one is tough if you go heavy and I tried to go as heavy as I could without hurting myself. Some exercises were questionable on the hurting part. LOL!! I know I did this workout once before but couldn't find my sheet. Weird.

Each drop set was 10 reps

Front Curl/Arnold Press: 20's/15's (the 20's were killer!)
Crush Grip Hold Goblet Squat: 25#/20#
Pullover: 30#/20#
Double Arm Swings: 15's/12's - 16 reps (Kelly does 20 reps)
One Arm Row: 30#/25#
Squat Press: 15's/12's (these were hard!
One Arm Bench Press: 20#/15#

I also walked on my treadmill for 20 minutes.

Total workout time was 51 minutes, burned 383 calories, HR was 123/161.

I'm going in at 10 because I have a meeting to get ready for on Wednesday. Hopefully the roads will be salted and good to go by then. Sick of this weather!

Jolie - I hope Rusty is doing well. Poor little guy. :(

Belinda - I am slowly decluttering. It takes time and I never seem to have any!!

Diane - Good job with your workout yesterday, I hope you aren't coming down with something. Hope you are feeling better today!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi,

the Salvation Army came and picked up everything except clothes which I will drop off at the homeless shelter in DC. We filled up an entire truck today. I had an entire living room set, gone!! I had a weight bench set that we didn‘t use that went too. I am so happy all those things are out of my house.

Debbie - it does take time going through everything. I got rid off all the stuff we are not using and will never use again.

Off to get some groceries. BBL

Rusty's surgery was a success, and he did well except for afterwards, coming out of Anesthetic was difficult for him but today he is good. It rained the entire day yesterday so I had to get the pup out for a big walk today to burn off all of his energy. I walked for 1 hour 18 minutes and traveled 4 miles. Total calories burned were 599.

Debbie, great job on the workout today, that looks like a good one. I signed up for Kelly's Raw workouts today, I cannot wait to try some of them this week.

Belinda, great job on the house purge, I love doing that too! I love less is more now, declutter the mind!

Diane Sue, nice workout yesterday. I hope you are feeling better today!

I hope you all have great workouts today and have a great day.
