Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Jan 2024

This morning I did CL#479 her latest, Turn it Up Upper Body. My arms are going to feel it. 3 rounds of a super set, sort of. I liked the exercises and 50 min went quick. She moves a little quicker, so my weights varied. I recommend this one! The core work is tough. I just wish the music were better in her Lives.

Belinda, good for you on the road trip!

Diane, hope your knee gets better. My knee acts up a little here and there. If I twist certain ways, I get inner knee pain. It goes away quickly, but I am doing something. I think it may be some arthritis. The weird thing is it doesn't hurt when I do lower body with weights.

Dreary, foggy, rainy weekend here. Tired of it, but better than a snow storm.

Good workouts this week everyone!

I discovered a new YT fitness channel. Chris & Edie. I haven't tried thier workouts yst, but I subscribed to the channel. Anyone tried these?

Today I did CDorner Fat Blasting Cardio mix skipping the Hiit segment, 37 minutes, 230 calories, heart rate 144/173, 3,129 steps. I did the low impact options. I then did Raw Back, 23 minutes, 80 calories, heart rate 105/127. Finished off with Raw stretch flow 20 minutes, 31 calories. Total time was 80 minutes, 341 calories.
My knees both hurt last night and it was hard to sleep, and I took some Advil and went back to sleep for a while. Once I was up and moving, they felt much better. I think some of the moves I tried to do with the Strong and Slow for better movement along with lower body just was too much. I should not have pushed the uncomfortable moves.

Jolie, I hope that you feel better so you can do some weights tomorrow. You sound like you have what I had along with my allergies going on. I am still sneezing and having to have a box of tissues nearby. I got some more quercetin and proteolytic enzymes to help the allergies. As far as appetite loss, when I do not feel rested and on top of things I do not have much appetite. I am sure your appetite will come back eventually. I got up a couple of days ago and looked at my usual protein bars and had not desire for one so ate a piece of Daves seed bread toast with avocado. Just not much appetite.

Cam, great job on CL#479 Turn it Up Upper Body. It is hard to find workouts with really good music. I know that I have arthritis in my knees. When they did my torn meniscus there was more than the surgeon expected. My right knee is generally my normal knee though. I am pretty sure I turned it wrong. It has been rainy here the last few days. I hope it is not icy in the morning as it is supposed to be 29 tonight. I am glad it is warmer than it was a week ago. I have not heard of Chris and Edie. I tried a little bit of one with two women once, but I think they had different names.

Belinda, good job on getting a walk in today. I guess your weather is not too bad? Cathe's Road trips always look like they would be fun. I would have a hard time doing one though because of timing.

Today I had an excellent workout. I forgot to tell you yesterday, but on Friday I broke my ring finger on my right hand. I hit the knuckle, a big wood cutting board fell on it and it is so swollen and red, with a lot of bruising. The funny thing is, it really does not hurt too bad, not like I would think. I am going to the OBGYN in the morning, I will see if she can order me and X-ray to see what I can dealing with. It is hard to grip a heavy DB, but the light weights are ok. Today, I started with KCM Step Boxing 5 and I used my 1.5# egg weights. Next, I did RAW Arms and did well with it but went light on the weights. The step boxing workout was 53 minuutes and the arms workout was 23 minutes long. Total time was 76 minutes and I burned 629 calories. I have a doctor's appointment in the morning so I will only get a dog walk in tomorrow. My allergies are better today, I have not sneezed once and that is a miracle!

Diane Sue, my knees have been bothering me a lot lately, I found out it was while I was sleeping. I got a new fluffy mattress topper and get topper this week and they feel so much better. I sleep on my side and the firmness of my new bed put too much pressure on my kneecaps. Nice job with the workout yesterday.

Cam, way to go on the Cathe Live Upper Body workout. I let my live subscription go because I am do KCM at the moment but I will write that on down to do soon. We have had 80 degree weather the past few days, I am in shorts and a tank top right now working out with the door open. We are supposed to get rain this week and some cooler weather.

Belinda, how fun to get to go on the roadtrip with your daughter! I would love to meet Cathe!!!

Make it a great day.

Today is my usual rest day. The sun is shining and I feel really good today and no knee pain :D. 56 degrees outside right now and it makes me happy.

Jolie, ouch on the finger and the wood cutting board. I hope it heals up quickly and not real serious. You had a great workout today. My allergies are much improved after just 3 days of the supplements that usually work for me. Odd that it is just the Dr's Best proteolytic enzymes and Life Extension Optimized Quercetin that works. I tried some others and ingredients were different and they just did not have the same effect on my allergies. We put a 3 inch MY Pillow mattress topper on our bed and it is nice. I cannot sleep on my side for long as it puts too much pressure on my shoulder and arm and I wake up in the middle of the night with a numb tingly arm. This happens even if I puts a small pillow between me and the bed to lift me up a bit. I put my wedge back in the bed last night for my knees. It usually helps, but sometimes between sitting and bent over the wedge they start needing for my legs to be straight. Mobility work that gets them moving helps.

Belinda, I just realized the Road trip is an actual road trip instead of virtual. You are lucky that it is not too far from you. I am sure you will have loads of fun.

Today was a blast from the past. I did Michelle Dozois 360 Athletic Conditioning. I still like this one. I just did the first part, skipped the upper body and core. I had a lot of that yesterday, Then I did the Athletic Stretch. About 40 min. total. I am debating on getting rid of my Michelle dvds, except the 360's. I really like those. I look at her Peak 10 Strength & Cardio's and though I loved those, I'm not feeling the love anymore. I did them so often back in the day. I will just keep my Cathe's and KCM's and donate the rest. I may keep my step vids too. Amy Bento and Christi Taylor were the best. YT just offers so much and with Cathe Live, I have more workouts than I have time for. Out with the old and in with the new.

Belinda, I am going to try out one of Chris & Edi's workouts this week.

Today was one of those days that everything ends up in a mess. I did not sleep well and got up and sat in the recliner thinking I could go back to sleep. My husband's phone starts getting messages and there was so many that my dog got up and went to another room. I gave up trying to sleep as I had a Walmart order coming and someone to spray the yard. I got in Raw Lift with Cardio Acceleration 31 minutes, 121 calories, heart rate 110/143. I had plans to do Raw Chest that I missed last week and then a good stretch. The groceries arrived and half of the stuff was missing. So, I had to get out my computer and they had me check each item that was missing and gave me a refund. I saw the refund on my email and they only refunded for 1 item of each that I checked when I had ordered more than one, like kombucha tea, ground beef etc.. So I had to do an online chat and it is so difficult to explain the problem and get them to get it right. The woman refunded the extra items and I asked her if the refund they already gave me was still there. (if not it would have been incorrect) She checked and seemed to understand and gave me a refund for the stuff already refunded and the refund for missed refund. Seriously!! This is always a pain to get through. I checked the bank later and the original refund was still in the bank plus the new one. Plus one for my Siete grain free taco shells that they put in a bag with canned stuff. They were broke up and I am tired of just dumping the crumbs on top of filling.
The day gets worse when I get the mail and Medicare decided to take my part D out of my social security when they had sent me a letter a month ago and said they were no longer taking it out. So, I paid for next month myself and now they are taking out the money after all and gave me a new amount after taking it out  I have already been dealing with other insurance changes that are still not worked out. I reordered the missing groceries and got them tonight plus a bag of Siete Lime grain free chips and am probably going to be chastising myself for sitting here stuffing my face with chips.
Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Nice workouts today. I am not going to go to bed and hopefully get a good nights sleep so maybe I can be more productive tomorrow.

This morning I did RAW Upper Body & Abs and had an excellent workout. I really like this one!! It was tough and I went heavy with most exercises.

Repeat

Seated Preacher Curls (I did Hammer Curls w/Twist): 20's

Repeat

Finisher:
Standing Shoulder Press: 15's
Dumbbell Curls: 15's

Double Arm Rows: 15's
Bench Press: 20's

I also did RAW Stretch Finisher. Total workout was 47 minutes, burned 260 calories and HR was 109/142.

Jolie - I think you did this one last week and said you didn't care for it. I love this workout and it really gives me a good strength workout and a good pump. I know Kelly talks A LOT through this workout, but I think she means it to be more of a "training" type workout, like a personal trainer would do. Not all her RAW workouts are like that. She does give great pointers, though. I've learned a lot about my form since working out with her. I'm sure you'll find some workouts you don't click with and this is probably one of them for you. She has so many other great workouts, though. I hope you are exploring them!

Diane - OMG, what a day you had yesterday!! That is why I no longer order food online for delivery. I never get what I want and things are always missing. So much easier for me to just go get what I want. I did this during Covid and really got pissed with all the mistakes constantly happening. I hope you were able to sleep last night, that must be awful not sleeping well. I rarely have that issue and I'm so thankful for it. Great job with CardioAcceleration 4! Love that one.

Cam - Great workout!!

Belinda - Great job on your workout!! You and Cam have me wanting to do CL workouts again!

Have a great day everyone!

Today I had an excellent workout. I did RAW Upper Body Strength and Endurance and it was 1 hour long. This workout will burn the muscle so good if you go with the correct weight. Debbie, have you done this workout before? It is long but so good. I will try to do the Box and Pump workout this week. I am glad you liked the workout you did today. It is good, I just do not like a lot of talking. Next time, I will lower the volume and play some music now that I know what she will be doing. Great job on your workouts thus far this week.

Diane Sue, I sure hope you have a better day today!!! Wow, what a day...

Cam, do not get rid of your workout dvds. I regret getting rid of mine when I moved, I love the older style workouts better than what is out there today. Just put them in a box and store them and pull them out when you feel like it.

Belinda, great job on the workout.

Roselyn, great job on your workouts.

Make it a great day. This is the last day of shorts weather and then we are getting a lot of rain for the next 10 days or so. I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Today I did CDorner Step Aerobics #354 80's/90's music, 29 minutes, 151 calories, 2,735 stepd. I then did Raw Timesaver Intervals tbts, 12 minutes, 70 calories, heart rate 136/153 heart rate 836 steps. I used 5# dumbbells and the double risers Kelly used. I finished with CDorner Full Body Relaxing Stretch, skipping the 10 minutes of just lying with feet on the chair relax. This was 27 minutes, 49 calories. It was a good deep stretch. She said don't do with cold muscles. Total time was 68 minutes, 270 calories. I finally got a good night sleep and slept 8 hours.

Debbie, great job today on Raw Upper Body and Abs. I got some good form pointers from Kelly on push ups and bench presses. I wish I just slept through the night all of the time. I generally fall asleep and wake up 2 hours later and I just think and worry to much about what the future holds, I guess. I was so sore this morning that I am glad I did not do chest yesterday.

Jolie, good job on Raw Upper body strength and endurance. I have done that one and I just looked and I have down that I burned 427 calories doing it. I bet that would not happen now. It is a good workout. I have a binder that is overfilled with the Raw workouts. I need to start another one I guess. I have them with dividers that match the Raw channel so that one is under strength. I do have a spare for not in a category which I think is only one. I got rid of some dvds two moves ago, but they were ones I did not ever do. I still have most of them. Wish I had a good place to use my TRX and use the dvds. No one will put up my X mount. They all think I will crash or something. My son put it up for me at one of our houses when my husband was out of country. I used to show off doing pikes with my feet in the TRX and show off what I could do LOL I want to try Raw Heavy Bag and Abs. Kelly does not use music in it and I have to set up my bench and music in my secondary workout space. I am glad that yesterday is over. We have rain coming in Thursday and through the weekend. I have been liking the sunshine.

Roxie, nice work on Raw Upper Body and Abs today.

Roselyn, nice work on Glutes today.

This morning I did RAW Cardio Crush 3 and I don't believe I've ever done this one before. I really liked it, it's a good tabata cardio workout. Last cardio segment wasn't my favorite but overall, this was a great workout. Makes me want to do the other Cardio Crush workouts.

Tabata: 20 on/10 off - 8 rounds alternating exercises

Butt Kicks
Jacks

Lunge Split 3
Shuffle 3, Ground Scoop

Prisoner Squats
Jump Rope 4/Jog 4

Ski Jumps
Soldiers

2 Knee/Push Kick
Long Jump

Squat Thrusters
Mountain Climbers - I did what I could with this one

Crunch
Straight Leg Lower to Floor (not sure what she called these) - I did Alternate Dead Bug

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 277 calories (thought it should have been higher), did 2377 steps and HR was 119/156.

Jolie - Yes, I've done that one before. It's way long for me to do it before work, though, so that's why I haven't done it often. It's a good workout. Great job on it!! Glad you are enjoying RAW.

Roxie - Good job on the workout you did yesterday. You did the same as me? The one I did yesterday didn't have runs in it. I don't see Charlotte Tilbury on the Ulta App yet. I wonder when they will start selling her stuff online?

Diane - I also got good pointers about bench presses. I always did them higher up and I think that is why my shoulder bothers me every now and then. Now I keep the dumbbells or bar right next to my breastline. It makes a difference. However, I don't feel it as much in my upper pecs as I did back when I benched higher. Not sure why? Kelly gives great tips and techniques during her workouts, that is why I love her workouts so much. And she always reminds me to hold my abs in. My binder is over full as well, I just threw out all my older sheets except for the most recent of each workout. I never look back to see what I've done in the way past so I just got rid of them. Diane, we can't stop whatever will happen in the future. My mom worries about all that, too, and I do as well to an extent. I try to just live my life as best as I can and what happens, happens. Let's hope 2024/25 will bring good change.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi,

Today I did STS 2.0 Metabolic Core Warm Up, 10 minutes, 44 calories, heart rate 113/130, 563 steps. I used the 5 and 10# plates for this. I then did CDorner Kickbox and Core tabata"Turbo Tabata" with an extra 4 min warm up, 39 minutes, heart rate 108/157, 140 calories. I finished with CDorner Day 30 full body static stretch 18 minutes. Total Time 67 minutes, 212 calories. The Kickbox core alternated a kickbox tabata with a core tabata. I had to modify some of the core as each tabata had two moves and one was in a plank. I stayed off of my hands and did some on my forearms as knee drops and ended up doing a side plank on arm which she finished off with later. It was a good workout though. The bear move was difficult so I did the forearms again. My right wrist arthritis is really painful right now. It needs a break. I put some biofreeze on it before bed and that ended up just making it hurt more and feel like I put ice on too long.

Debbie, I have done the Cardio Crush 3 before. Also the short version of it as well which I think is 19 minutes for a quick workout. Nice work getting it in. I felt my calorie burn should have been a lot higher with that one as I was out of breath doing it. For some reason I get higher burns with slower workouts. It is probably the way the algorithms work. I was thinking of starting a binder and labeling it 2024 for the rundown on the workouts. I shouldn't worry. The Bible says not to. One of my favorite verses is Psalms3:24 "When thou Liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet."

Belinda, nice work on CL#346 Lift it, Split it Upper Body: Back and Biceps. I keep going through things and clearing out some things. I often wonder why I leave clothes hanging in the closet that every time I look at t I give it a big no to wearing it. I have a spare closet full of all kinds of odds and ends and I recently cleared the rack off of shoes that I will not wear anymore.
