Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2022!!

I went to the surgeon today and they took x-rays. Everything is intact and and open so no impingement :) I can drive now and I got rid of the immobilizer. I can sit and ride the spin bike, but he said to talk to the therapist about what I could do. Still hurts, but I am sure that will improve as I get more movement into it.

today I took a rest day. This week has been rough. I am under a lot of stress. I can't get into a lot of detail. DH, Sadie and I took a road trip and enjoyed the beautiful day. It was in the 55.

Diane - glad you can drive now and got rid of the immobilizer. You are doing amazing. Hope your pain will go away soon too.

Today I had planned on a mobility type workout, but I gravitated toward a steady state cardio so I picked an oldie, Amy Bento Hi/Lo Xtreme. Remember that one? Just the combos premix. I miss fun cardio so much, but I really have to keep it low impact. I did my best, but fast moves are difficult to modify, so it started out good but I ended up getting a little frustrated. I just can't do constant bouncing and maybe never will. Anyway, I had a little fun and got a little sweaty.

Belinda, sorry you are having a bad week. Glad you took a road trip.

Diane, that's great progress! Baby steps, you'll get there.

Jolie, glad you're doing better.

Target always has had stylish swimwear for good value. A lot of their onepieces now (though) veer toward juniors' vanity sizing and are full of spaghetti strap laces and cut-outs (*not* something my "real world" figure can fit into certainly, lol!), but there's always a suit to be found there with classic and understated "glam" which'll look equal to a $200 Gottex (at least, in all my years of Summer wardrobe shopping there: I've never been disappointed --- except; for, how the sizing and quality of their "A New Day" label seems to constantly change?...never tried "Joy Lab" activewear, bc I don't think it would look appropriate on a 55 y.o. and I'd be cautious about the sizing being as inconsistent as their "A New Day" line). T.Y.
I don’t wear a one piece they don’t fit me right and we have a boat and go to a lake so this 56 year old wears a two piece
 
I did not check in yesterday, but I went out walking on flat ground and walked for 40 minutes and did 2 miles. Afterwards, I got a spasm, so I did some stretches and that did the trick. Today I got on my TM and walked for 45 minutes with no incline, traveled 2.3 miles and burned 320 calories. I wore my back brace and that alleviated some of the pain I was having in my hip and low back. I notice when I wear the brace it holds my ab muscles in and that helps a whole lot. I need to work my core more once I am able to do more. After walking today, I picked up 5# DB's and did 120 Bicep curls, all types for 20 reps. It felt amazing to lift weights again even though they were 5 pounds.

Diane Sue, I am so happy that you are getting to drive and start some exercising and getting some movement. You are now on your way!

It will be a beautiful day again, 85 degrees in store for the weather! I walked in my garage gym today with the door up and it was just perfect! Make it a great day.
 
This morning I did Tracy 50 min. Build & Burn Strength. Each circuit was repeated 3x. Basic rep pattern alternating with pulsing reps. When it got too much, I threw in a cardio set with core focus.

Jolie, glad you were able to do walking. I think if you mix it up, you may feel better. Sometimes continuously doing the same type of exercise can have a negative affect on the body. Well, that was my experience. I used to be a step queen, until I screwed up my Achilles Tendon so bad I could barely walk. It took a year to heal. I enjoyed it more when I fully healed and did less of it. Walking on flat ground is a good idea.

I would like to take a walk but its only 13 degrees and not very sunny. It's supposed to hit 40 by mid week. Yay. 1 more month and and we set the clocks ahead. Can't wait to get back to evening walks.

Today I did Total Body STRENGTH & CARDIO Workout // Day 30 HR12WEEK 2.0.

We had to take Sadie to the vet today. Her breathing worried us. The vet didn't find anything wrong, which is good. I also had to run some errands.



Diane - glad you making progress. It will take time. Thinking about you. How is your DH doing?

Cam - thank you. I love Amy B. I also have to modify all her workouts.

Jolie - thank you. That's a lot of biceps even with 5#. You feel those tomorrow.

Went to one of the boys basketball game this morning and did a spin workout this afternoon. It’s so cold here high of 34.
 
Today I did Michelle Briehler Pilates Fusion Hiit. I did a lot of cleaning today and wanted a gentler workout. This was perfect. Got warm and a little sweaty. Starting to see a little definition in my core. I have been spending more time on my middle this year since it was the most neglected and weakest.

Not a football fan but sort of bummed the Bengals didn't win. Since I live in Ohio it would have been nice to have a winning team at least once in my lifetime. :rolleyes:

My traps are really sore, actually, to the point of them being painful again. I think it was from Friday's workout when I did those seated rows. I knew I was pulling my traps into it, but really trying not to. I used my massager and my body buddy yesterday to work the knots out. Sort of better today and I decided not to lift. I just got on my treadmill and walked a bit. My knee is still a little sore but not as bad as it was and the walking didn't make it worse.

I walked for 26 minutes, burned 98 calories, went 1.42 miles and did 3108 steps. HR was 90/122.

I also did the 20 minute Neck and Shoulder workout I like by CDorner. That one does a good job in stretching out the neck.

Diane - So glad to hear you are on your way to feeling normal again!!! Each day you will get better and better!!

Today I started week 7, Chest & Shoulders Strength Workout // Day 31 HR12WEEK 2.0.

I will try to came back later to catch up on personals.
 
Today I walked on my TM for 1 hour, traveled 3.2 miles and burned 427 calories. Next, I did Lying Triceps Ext. on the floor on a mat, 8# DB's x 100 reps. I had to take a few breaks but did really well with it. By the last one, it was hard to get it back up. I will continue walking and doing one exercise per body part x 100 reps lite weight till I feel better, my back is about 75% and I do not want to push it. I have a Chiro follow up appointment on Thurs, I am looking forward to another adjustment. Usually when this happens to me, it takes 2 visits and then I am on my way. There is only so much he can do for me in one appointment.

We will be having cooler weather this coming week; the last 10 days have been over 80 degrees!


Debbie, great job getting a walk in even though you are having some minor issues with your body. I love to walk; I would walk all darn day if I could! Sorry about the Super Bowl outcome, I was hoping the Bengals were going to win!

Belinda, good job on the workout today. I am glad to hear that Sadie is doing good and having no issues to worry about.

Cam, Nice job on the workout yesterday. I have to work my core and abs more because it will help keep my low back in alignment but since I have some bulging discs, I have to be very careful not to aggravate those at the same time. I am a mess!!!

Diane Sue, I hope you slept good yesterday and get to move around today without any pain. Do you have a spin bike?

I haven’t worked out yet had to go to grocery store and had a phone interview with unemployment. I have had a migraine for the last week just can’t shake it.

Jolie-what supplements would you suggest to help with my headaches.
 
Saturday I did a Ifit workout with Ashleigh McIvor 35 mintues and took the dog for a walk. Then we went to do apartment hunting with our son. All places are so expensive! They want a 3 bedroom but those appear to be hard to find!

I did a hike yesterday with the hubby and the dog. It was muddy!!

This morning I did Lindsay Bomgran's 35 HIIT strong - Glutes and hammies workout.
 
Today I did Tracy Steen 50 min. No Repeat Metabolic Smash. It was a different format. There were 3 different parts. The 1st part consisted of alternating cardio and weight segments. The 2nd part was 6x6. 6 reps of heavy weight work. 3rd part was cardio and abs. This was fun and challenging. Tthe time flew. It helped that she is vacationing in the Virgin Islands. Nice scenery.

It was 3 degrees when I woke up this morning o_O

This morning I walked on my treadmill again for about 1.25 miles and then I did the standing ab work from RAW Ab Finisher. I didn't use an 8# weight like Kelly did because my traps are still a bit tight. They are better today. Damn I hate when that happens. I used to have very strong traps and now the minute I work them they hurt really bad. I wonder why that is? Do I need to do more shrugs or something? I'm actually afraid to do them anymore because of this tightness and pain. I used my heated vest last night and that relaxed it a good deal. My knee is almost 100% again. Yay!!

Belinda - Great job on your workout yesterday. Wow, week 7 already! Doesn't seem possible.

Jolie - Holy smokes, 100 reps!! Killer! I bet your triceps are talking to you today. Mine got sore just reading your workout! LOL!!!

Roxie - I hope your migraine is gone. I don't have any advice, but hopefully Jolie will chime in.

Doreen - Good workout. Question, did your traps hurt you after you did the Power Splits upper body workout? Doing those seated one arm rows about killed me.

Cam - Great workout yesterday! You are getting stronger and stronger! Nice job.

Diane - Hope you are getting better and better!
