Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2022!!

I did 20 minutes on the spin bike this morning. Followed with some PT moves, and lower body stretches. I used indoor cycling on my Garmin so since no attachment for the bike readings were off for the Garmin. Workout was 4.65 miles per the bike, 20 minutes, 170 calories, (bike) Garmin 88 calories, heart rate 111/33 Garmin.

I did Vera LaRo 45 min. Upper Body Tri Sets. I liked it as it was complete upper body except abs. I liked the exercises, but I hope I didn't overwork my shoulders as I felt a little pain. Seems to be ok now, but I lowered my weights to 5's and probably should've gone to 3's. My only issue with her vids is the amount of commercials. I can see one commercial break, but there were several. Annoying.

Diane, awesome that you got some cardio in. You are doing great.

Debbie, glad you had a fun workout.

Belinda, glad you got good news!

Doreen, good workout. I am tired of the cold weather. Not a vood weather week here.

Goodnight everyone!

So this is how my workout went from yesterrday. I copied this from back in 2019 when I said I didn't care for the workout because there was too much rest. Wow, can't believe how I've changed my mind on this one, I really liked it when I did it yesterday.

RAW Ascending Pyramid Upper Body. Kelly Does this with Sammie, when Kelly is done, Sammie does the exercise so Kelly is resting. There are times when the rest was a bit long, I just started my set again and fast forwarded the workout. I will be definitely doing this one again soon.

All reps were 16/12/10/8

Chest Press: 12's/15's/20's/25's
Chest Flies: 10's/12's/15's/20's

Upright Rows: 8's/10's/12's/15's
Lateral Raise: 5's/8's/10's/12's

Seated Overhead Extensions: 10#/12#/15#/20#
Skull Crushers: 5's/8's/10's/12's

Seated Rows: 12#/15#/17#/20# (I did Pullovers)
One Arm Row: (Skipped - running out of time and I wanted to do biceps)

Biceps Curl: 8's/10's/12's/15's
Double Arm Pledges: 8's/10's/12's (only had time for 3 sets)

I like the double arm pledges, I really felt it in my forearms and right in the middle of my biceps. Felt great!

Again, workout was 52 minutes, burned 419 calories!!! HR was 143/166.

Today I did RAW Shadow Boxing 1 from a while ago. Love this one, I used my 2# dumbbells for this. Worked up a good sweat. I like this because there is no impact, it's just boxing moves. My HR still gets up there with this kind of workout.

Workout was 41 minutes, burned 330 calories, did 3428 steps and HR was 144/169.

Diane - I wonder why Kelly has workouts on her website? Are they the same ones that are on her channel? I'm so gald to hear you are doing some workouts now. Please be careful, you don't want to set yourself back. I'm sure you are very aware of that, but just wanted to tell you. :) Glad you are slowly getting better!!! I have the Garmin Vivosmart 4. I'm hoping my DH will get a bigger one for my birthday. He just got me this one to see if I'd like it. So far, I love it!! Which one do you have?

Cam - I kmow what you mean, I hate commercials when I'm doing a workout. That's why I like CDorner's channel, once you see the ad before her workout, there are none that pop up during it. Nice job with your workout!

Doreen - It's been awful cold here in Ohio, too. Sort of glad, maybe all the stink bugs will die. We have an epidemic here every summer with those nasty things!

Belinda - Glad you got good news about your root canal!! Poor Sadie, I sure hope she is ok. What could be wrong with trechea?

Jolie - I hope you check in today, getting worried about you. Hope your pain is almost gone.

Roselyn - Hope you are doing well, have a great workout today!!

Roxie - Any word from Ulta??? I just placed a pretty big order, i needed all my facial serums I use. They all seem to need to be reordered at the same time. I also purchased another Lancome Lash Idole mascara which I love.

Have a great day everyone!!!

I did a 30 mintute ride with ifti Casey this morning - I like him- kinda goofy but a great rider. My internet kept pausing the workout so it took me 40 minutes to finish the ride... that's kinda ok because even if the video freezes the bike and tension stay at the same settings so the intervals are just longer.

It supposed to warm up today to about 20. The dog is so ready for a nice long walk!!

I went to the Chiro for my checkup, and I am feeling better today. I had to hang upside down and he adjusted the bulging discs while upside down and that did the trick. This opened up my spine enough to get them to go back where they are supposed to be. I will need to really pay attention to this issue going forward, I never want this type of pain again. There are places that decompress the spin on a table that is noninvasive, so I am going to look into that for the future. I am not a hundred percent, but I can now pick something off the floor, before I could never do that or even get back up to standing. I think I will be able to start my walking in a few days and then when all of the pain is gone, I can get back into lite weights, but I will not be pushing it. I will probably get on the elliptical too, that is a great workout with no impact.

I have to go back and read all of the posts from the last two days, but you all are doing great on your workouts. I cannot wait to get my heart rate up and start back getting some exercise. I still have a slight spasm so I cannot do anything till that is 100% gone.

Make it a great day!

Hi,

Today I did Chiseled Chest & Back: STRENGTH Workout // Day 38. Had a great workout. I went a little lighter in weights, got my 2nd vaccine today.

Debbie - nice workout today. It is common in small breed dogs for their trachea to close off. Especially in toy dogs, My vet is monitoring her. Sometimes they need meds to control the windpipe from closing off.

Jolie - You can see her windpipe closing off in the x rays. My vet spent over 2 hours checking Sadie out. He also loves Sadie :) I hope you feel better soon and get back to working out.

Cam - thank you! I really needed some good news. I needed a break. Great job yesterday.

Diane - glad you working out again. Fantastic job.

Roselyn, Roxie and Doreen - good job.

Good night.

I did ICE Chiseled Lower Body + Blizzard Blast. I was wiped. I used a set of 12's & 15's insread of one weight and did some jumping (which my dr would disapprove of) but a little felt good. I landed softly and no flying jacks. I kept it mostly low impact though.

I am thinking of getting IMax 4. Any comments? I would like a low impact step cardio, not sure though. I haven't done Cathe step in ages. I would add Athletic Training too.

Belinda, sorry about Sadie. Hope she gets better.

Jolie, glad you are doing better.

Good workouts everyone!

Well, it was bound to happen...we are getting a snow storm right now.

My Solo & Ensemble Event is tomorrow so been finalizing everything today. Need to get to the school that is hosting it so I can set everything up. Phew. I am exhausted. Can't wait until about 2:30 tomorrow!! It will be over by then.

Today I didn't feel much like working out so decided to get on my treadmill and walk. But after I got warmed up I upped the incline to 5% and tried to get a good sweat going. Almost worked. It's so cold I rarely sweat when the weather is like this. I ended up having a pretty good workout.

Workout was 32 minutes, burned 137 calories, went 1.88 miles, did 3896 steps and HR was 91/112. I stretched quite a bit when I was done.

I don't have time for personals, I have read all your posts and you are all doing great with your workouts!! Have a great weekend!

Hi,

I did Serious Ab BURNER: Core Workout // Day 39 HR12WEEK 2.0 this morning. I wanted to go for a walk, its very windy outside.

Diane - how are you doing?

Great job everyone. I will try to be back later.

Beautiful, but cold winter day. Sunny and calm after a snowfall so I took a 2 mile walk after work. I like the longer days now, so more walks on the horizon. I will look forward to walking afterr my workouts.

Doreen, I did read that review. I think Imax 4 is a good choice. I would also get Athletic Training. I think I talked myself into it. Ha!

Have a good weekend!

This morning my husband took me to PT as I did not want to drive on ice. So I have been sore since. Icing and just tried some tylenol as I do not want to take Advil or anything else. I started having reflux from all of these meds. I thought I got rid of that years ago. So diet is changed up as I cannot tolerate much right now. My reach is getting much better which is great. Dud any of you read Cathe's news letter about shoulders. She mentions certain moves and says over 50 years care should be taken.

Cam, I am glad you are being careful. I doubt I will ever get real heavy again. We have pretty thick ice.

Belinda, I missed that Sadie was having problems. Poor puppy. Can the vet help her? I am doing much better.

Debbie, my Garmin, is the Vivoactive 4S. The 4 S is the smaller as the 4 is a bit bigger. 4S is plenty big. I really do like it a lot. Kelly just has a few of the Raw workouts work sheets for weight work on her web page. Just like she has them for her dvds. Also lists of the premixes I think. She also has some rotations on there.
I am careful. The PT says to do thing like normal around the house, just do not pick up things overhead. I couldn't (wouldn't) anyway. Just putting things up into our microwave can cause discomfort with a glass bowl of food. I usually have to grab with the left arm as the right just cannot take the angle. We are working on that though. I do arm raises front and, in a rainbow as far as I can get. Also leaning into a door frame with 10 second holds. Walking fingers up the wall and slide down. He does lots of deep stretching it.

Doreen, I like I Max 4. She really did do a thorough description of the workout. That is cute that you got your dog to walk on the treadmill. I bet the dog loves it.

Jolie, I hope you get back to what you love doing soon. Lighter weights is probably best to avoid that happening again.

This morning I did a 35 mintue ride with Ifit Casey in Moab Utah - a tempo ride meaning we were supposed to keep the same spin rate the entire ride. Casey is goofy and was making this ride into an "old-fashioned getaway from the law" theme - but it make it fun.

I just got back from a chiro appointment just to check to see how things are holding and it is looking good. He said I can get back to workouts, slow and steady and to listen to my body. He said start walking 1 or 2 miles and see how that goes. If it is fine, then I can start going further and further unless I have a setback. I can lift weights, but it will be very lite to start and then going heavier as my body feels like it. I found a Chiro right down the street, so it is easy to pop in and have him look at what is going on instead of driving all the way to my other one. I will use this one for the minor things and my other one for my more in-depth issues. I look forward to feeling better this week! :)

Great workouts everyone, I look horrible, so I am excited to start back at it again.

Getting old sucks!

Hi, checking in with Strong & Sweaty Total Body Giant Sets + abs. The ab section is good in this series, but had to modify a couple things, otherwise a good workout. I am seeing definite strength gains. I thought I may have over done it this week, but I feel really good.

Jolie, glad you are doing well.

Belinda, I almost did the same workout. I will do it next week.

I slept 11 hours last night, the best night's sleep I have had in 3 weeks. I was sore in the hips, but I must have relaxed enough to really sleep well. Today I am sore, but I decided to get on the treadmill and walk slowly on 0 incline to see what it would do to my issue, and it actually really helped. I walked for 45 minutes, traveled 2.5 miles and burned 321 calories. When I started out, I was sore and the nerve was bothering me, after about 20 minutes I could tell that it was loosening up my hip, SI joint and low back. Right now, I am feeling better than I have in 3 weeks. Yes! After walking, I got down on a matt and did Chest Press, Close Grip Chest Press, Lying Triceps Ext. and Chest Flies. I only used 8# DB's but I did about 100 reps per exercise. I also did standing Bicep curls, hammer curls and W curls. I feel great and boy does not working out play tricks with your mind! Let's see how I feel tomorrow.

Happy Sunday and I hope you have great workouts.
