Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2022!!

This morning I did Michelle Briehler 40 min. Full Body Dumbbell workout. I loved it. She went by muscle group to a burnout. I worked up quite a sweat. She had a 3 minute burpee challenge at the end, but I changed that up. Absolutely love her workouts.

Jolie, that sucks! I hope you get it figured out. How is your mattress? A good mattress can make the difference. My husband hasn't had back pain since we got a new firmer mattress and it sure made a difference with my hips and neck. Its amazing the way we use to workout in our 30s and 40's. Boy, if I could turn back time I would do things differently.

Windy and really cold here today. At least its sunny. Have a good day everyone!

Hi,

Sorry for not checking in yesterday. I had an appointment with the ENT yesterday. Turns out I have a small ear infection and I am relapsing again. I can't catch a break. Today we had a major power outage and internet wasn't working for hours.

Debbie - the rotation is 12 weeks long. I just finished week 7. I have my consolation on Thursday. Thank you.

Diane - I am sorry you still in so much pain. I continue to pray for your. I feel like I am always at the doctors these day's. I hope you can schedule all your appointments. My appointment just piling up :)

Good job everyone. Good night.

Today I am feeling about 30% better, everything I did yesterday that caused me excruciating pain is actually helping today. Yesterday my pain level was just like being in labor to deliver a baby, I am not kidding. Yesterday I hung upside down to decompress the spine, took a ton of Minerals, Magnesium, EFA's, Turmeric, light therapy and CBD cream which worked so good right before I went to bed. I also did Electric Muscle stimulation massage on the low back and down the left leg which really got in there and got the blood pumping. Today I did the light therapy and I am alternating with icing the Sciatic nerve. If I feel horrible tomorrow, I will go to Urgent Care to get a muscle relaxer. When I stand up, my left hip is about 2 to 3 inches pulled over to the left making it very difficult to stand up straight. I will either be standing, walking or lying down today to get this darn thing to settle down. I feel optimistic because I am getting some results on my own and more naturally than meds and or Cortisone shot in the spine. That will be my absolute last resort.

Belinda, sorry that you are going through a tough time too! I hope you ear infection goes aways asap!

I will not be doing any type of workout till this thing settles down, but I will be checking in with you anyway. Keep up the awesome workouts everyone that is able, you are killing it and I am so jealous.

Happy Sunday.

Today I did Penny Barnshaw 30 min No Repeat Cardio Burn. It was in my saves. I did this over Christmas and forgot how much I liked it. Most of the moves were low impact and I worked up a good sweat.

Jolie, glad you are feeling better.

Belinda hope you feel better soon.

I feel guilty posting my workouts when everyone is hurting in some way or sick.

Have a good night!

No workouts, just lots of icing and trying to get rid of pain. It is finally better today except for the neck. Tomorrow I have PT in the morning. I will talk to him about it, as I would wince when I moved the least bit wrong. I spent so much time icing. I tried some muscle relaxer that helped some. I do not like taking those things as side effects are miserable.

Cam, nice work with Penny Bradshaw.

Debbie, the last PT was useless. This one at least pushes me to work harder. They cheered for me when I came in without the sling as I really wanted that thing off. I am really doing more and can finally get my hand to my mouth and do mascara, although a bit shaky. I couldn't reach that high a couple of weeks ago. I just think sometimes he does not recognize that when I finally say it really hurts, that I really have given it my all. I wonder how they watch facial expressions with a mask on. I also told him sometimes I feel like I have a tendency to pull away while he is trying to push, and he said it is a natural reaction when it is not comfortable. I am way further along than two weeks ago even. I sure am glad I have insurance for all of this as I don't seem me getting this far on my own. We have more winter coming this week too. Hoping I can get my appointments in. I made sure there was a day between each visit this week.

Doreen, glad that you enjoyed the workout today. I am sure it is nice to get outside with the put as well.

Jolie, that sounds painful. I understand though. I search for all of the natural supplements and things in my cabinet first. Ice and soak in warm water, heating pad, trying to stretch or use things to loosen knots. Sometimes I just do not know what else to do. I have to switch sleeping positions in the middle of the night and end up in the recliner. Pillow changes etc. Not a good way to get rest. I hope you get better. My one arm looks pathetic. Loose skin after they had to repair and attach the biceps tendon. I have a lot of work to get some of that muscle back. I am thinking that my 60's has been a lot of downhill for me and now I am approaching 70 this summer.

Roxie, sorry the kickboxing workout did not go well.

Belinda, nice work out Thursday. I hope your appointment went well.

So I'm going back to using MyFitnessPal. I am gaining weight at record speed and have to figure out why. I know I eat more than I should when I'm not counting calories so I started yesterday. It does help me keep on track and the thought of "just one cracker, or just one piece of candy" is tempered. Hopefully I can get rid of the 7# I've gained since Christmas and then maybe a couple more.

Feeling pretty good today, my knee is still weird, though, so I was really careful. I chose RAW Tabata Sculpt Ladder and it was just an ok workout. Maybe if I could have given it my all I would have enjoyed it.

This was 20 seconds on 10 seconds off. 4 sets each exercise through and then doing it backwards for 4 sets.

Caterpillar Pushups: 4 sets
Squat/Curl/Kickbacks: 8's - 2 sets (could not do a full squat)
Squat/Kickbacks: 8's 2 sets (same)
Scale/Rows: 8's - 4 sets
Alternate Shoulder Press/Pec Deck: 8's - 4 sets
Snatch/Reverse Lunge: 12# - 4 sets (I just did the snatch move)
Crouching Sit-outs: (I did Hammer Curls w/8's, I can't do this exercise on a good day)
Repeat but backwards and she skips the Shoulder/Pec Deck exercise for some reason)
I did ab work for Crouching Sit-outs instead and I added in the Shoulder/Pec Deck exercise when she did the squat/kickbacks)

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 187 calories, HR was 123/161.

Walked on my treadmill for 25 minutes, burned 95 calories, went 1.37 miles, did 2916 steps and HR was only 84/118.

Roxie - I hear Rare Beauty's new bronzing stick is awesome, too, and is a bit cheaper than Fenty. Not sure I will get any right now, I have enough bronzing sticks and powder.

Jolie - I'm so sorry you are in such pain still but I am glad you are getting a bit better. What is it with us? Why can't we just workout and not worry about pain all the time? Almost makes me want to just stop this nonsense. I'm sick of being in pain. :(

Cam - I agree, if I knew now what I knew then, I would have never been squating 125#+ or curling 50#+. Insane. I have no one but myself to blame for my issues.

Diane - I am glad to hear you are progressing in your recovery. I knew it wouldn't be easy and thank the dear Lord, you are almost over the worst of it. Hope your appointment goes well today.

Belinda - So sorry to hear about you relapsing again, that is just insane!!! Praying you get better soon. You can't seem to catch a break at all!

Roselyn - Hope all is well with you!

Doreen - Hope all is well with you too!

I need to get some stuff done around the house today plus I am dropping my tax stuff off to my accountant. Have a great day everyone!!

Today I am better than yesterday, so that is a plus! I do not need to go to urgent care, I think with all of the things I have found out about my issue on my own, I can now address it properly. I am going to Sprouts today and pick up some DMSO spray or lotion, this will help with pain and inflammation asap. I cannot believe that I forgot about it, darn it. I might have to go back to my Chiro, but I am trying other things first. I slept much better last night, the best in two weeks. However, I have a stabbing pain in my left hip, and it is running down my quad into my knee still. This is a result of L2 and L3 in my spine bulging, but I have had that fixed twice now so it must be the inflammation pushing on the nerve. I will hang upside down today to see if I can get some space between the discs. I hate this crap!!!! If I pick up any DB's in the near future, I will be only doing a few exercises where I can either lay on the floor or stand for Bicep curs. I will use only 5 to 8 pounds when I decide to start again. Things I cannot do due to my issue is, squats with weights, bent over rows, dead lifts, stiff leg deadlifts or anything where I am bent over forwards. This causes the disc to bulge. I did find a few exercises to help put it back so I will do those daily. I can lay on the floor and do chest press, lying triceps ext., close grip chest press, pull overs and so on. My working out will be dismal at best. I will not do anything until this pain and spasm go away however long that takes.

Debbie, great job on the workout today. I have gained so much weight since Thanksgiving, not a lot of walking due to weather and eating too much! I might join Weight Watchers with some friends just to be a part of something since working out might not be in my immediate future. I am so close to stop lifting at all but I would look terrible, flabby and loose skin at my age is going to happen. However, I am so sick of being in pain. When I am feeling better, I will walk, use my elliptical and light weight for few exercises. That is all I can manage; I do not want this to happen ever again!

Diane Sue, have you tried DMSO for the pain? I am getting some today, I will let you know what it does. CBD cream is working really well but it is very expensive. Feel better my friend. At least we can be miserable together :)

Cam, do not feel bad about working out when we feel poorly. I am happy that you are feeling great!

BBL to read the other posts for the day. I hope you all that can workout have great workouts today!

Good Afternoon,

I went to Ulta today and gave them my resume and reminded them I was still interested. I took the dog for a walk 70 today 24 tomo and snow Thursday. I am going up to get my mom Wednesday and bring her done for a couple of days. My unemployment was approved so I can take my time finding a job. I am going to start 80 Day Obsession tomorrow I have a sore shoulder and neck today. I know you think BeachBody is a cult but I also like the 645 workouts.

Debbie-I bought the Rare Beauty stick with a gift card I got for Christmas blush one of the new liquid blushes and I really like them but I should have got a darker stick.

Jolie-my right hit bothers me a lot I can’t even get my sleep number to help.

Diane-now I know better than to try someone else’s.

Hi,

Today we visit DD in DC, we went for a nice long walk at Theodore Roosevelt Island in DC. Sadie walked almost the entire time. I haven't seen so many people before covid. It was nice to see everyone enjoyed the nice weather. It was 66 F. We just came home, too late to get my weight workout in. I will catch up tomorrow.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the Endodontics. Hopefully I get some good news.

Debbie - thank you! I sure don't seem to catch a break these day's. I need to start logging all my food too. Good luck. Great job on your workout.

Cam - thank you. Great job yesterday.

Jolie - glad you feeling better. The ear infection isn't that bad. My RP on the other hand is out of hand.

Diane - glad you doing better each day. Hope you feeing 100% soon. Keep up the good work.

Roselyn and Roxie - hope you both had a great Sunday.

Good night.

Today I did Michelle Briehler 40 min Total Body Compound Strength & Cardio w/5 min. Core. I really liked the exercises. Sometimes I don't like compound weight work, but the exercises were good in this one. I am really enjoying her workouts and I like her music better than most.

Diane, you are doing great. Every week you will see little improvements. Glad you like your new PT. The good ones will push you. I also didn't do well with muscle relaxers. I got so light headed and felt high all day. I don't do good with any meds. I have a bad reaction to cold medicines too.

Jolie & Debbie, glad you are doing better.

We are supposed to get an ice storm tonight into Wednesday. I am worried we will lose power again. Too many times in the past 2 years with power outages. We are having a generator installed soon, but I am afraid not soon enough. It will power the whole house. Very costly but it will be worth it.

Goodnight!

Good morning,

Today I started week 8 of 12. Upper Body Supersets: Bi's, Tri's & Shoulders // Day 36 HR12WEEK 2.0. Had a great workout.

I need to get ready for my appointment. I will be back later.

This morning I did part of RAW Hi:Low Cardio which Kelly does the first half on the floor and then the 2nd half with the same moves but on the step. I did what I could, my knee is not 100% like I thought it was. Impact hurt and she does a lot of side to side moves which bothered the inside of my left knee which is where the pain initially started a few weeks back. I wore my knee brace but it didn't help much. I stopped after the first segment went to the step and then I got on my treadmill and walked about 3/4 mile. I iced my knee afterwards and so far it's ok. I don't get what is going on, I might need to go get it x-rayed if it doesn't clear up.

Workout was 45 minutes, burned 389 calories (I highly doubt that!), did 5032 steps and HR was 151/183. I honestly don't think my HR got up to 151 even. Not sure what this Garmin was reading. I was very careful and did mostly low impact and I could feel my HR wasn't that high. Sigh...

So I've been using MyFitnessPal again and yikes!! My meals before lunch are at 850 calories. That is with my protein shake and overnight oats. No wonder I'm gaining weight!

No time for personals, I hope you all have a rockin' day!

No workouts over the weekend - we were at my daughter's volleyball tournament and our hotel didn't have a workout room.

This morning I did a 20 minute bike ride through Moab on Ifit and then did a 15 min Arms workout by Lindsay Bomgren. Loved how she did the 15 minutes! Lots of time under tension for such a short workout!

Checking in with DC Fitt 40 min Low Impact Cardio Hiit. One of my faves of hers. The ice storm wasn't as bad as predicted. All schools were closed but the streets were driveable and no power outages. Now a snowstorm is coming Thursday. Oh joy!

Have a goodnight everyone!

Today I did CDorner Cardio to the Beat Low Impact without doing arm moves. This worked to get a few steps and calories. 42 minutes, heart rate 115/128, 181 calories, 4,075 steps. I kept it all low impact. I also did some V sits to work the abs a bit without supporting with my arms. PT went well yesterday. I managed to ice a lot and soaked in a mineral bath, rolled the knots that were trying to take over (PT said that was a good thing to do as my traps and neck keep getting inflamed) He says everything has to relearn after lack of use and wearing the immobilizer so long. I think the therapist did not push quite as hard this time after telling him about the spasms and pain. Not that it did not still hurt though. He asked if I was okay. I can reach a bit further and we are working to get my arm up a bit further in back. I canceled going tomorrow as it is supposed to be sleeting and snowing right at peak chances when I was supposed to go. Hopefully I can go Friday morning.

Debbie, I hope that you can figure out what is causing the knee pain. I have been using my fitness pal again. I dropped off for awhile after surgery. I sometimes wish I wasn't monitoring again. Since surgery my diet has not been real clean. I am just getting into cooking again. Lots of fast food or dishes left here. The family came over Sunday and we ordered brisket. We were left with so many chips, brownies, and German Chocolate cake. I stuffed the brownies in the freezer after eating a few. I lost weight at first, so was not worried. Still not worried as I had dropped to 106. I want to get rid of the round belly and bloating. Cant figure that out. Swelling left everywhere, but there. I was hoping when I did not have that immobilizer wrapped around me night and day it would help. I bought some super digestive enzymes and probiotics from Life Extension to try. Trying to not need Advil. I think it is not helping either. I will get back on track. Some days I think I ate well, and then when I look later and have it all in, my macros are disappointing. I have not had an appetite for meats and am sick of protein powder.
Which Garmin watch did you get? I think mine was right today. I knew I was not going to get my heart rate up a lot the way I did the workout.

Jolie, I have not heard of DMSO before so I had to look it up. So do you just use it on the skin? It is tough dealing with discs and space. I asked my arthritis doctor if I couldn't make some space by hanging upside down or something and all I got out of him was that that is what the epidural in my neck would do. Take down inflammation and make some space. I told him I would wait. Part of the pain is brought on by the traps getting tight. I prefer to try as many things as possible to make it feel better first.

Belinda, you sound like you have lots of appointments like I do. This next month is going to be running to quite a few unless I move something. Still not sure about the mammogram and bone scan the 7th. I think I might be able to do it as long as my shoulder does not have to be twisted around much.
Nice work today.

Roxie, I hope you get the job at Ulta. I keep looking at eye shadows lately. I have bought several Jane Iredale shadows. My problem is the only ones that seem to go on and not be so translucent that you have to keep putting more on is Tarte. I wish Tarte had more colors. Most of their palettes seem to use the same pigments in them. I always end up throwing about half of the colors that are left in the trash. Looking at pictures is not always good either on colors. I will pick something and when I get it, the color does not look like what I expected. Minerals seem more sheer pigments.

Cam, I tried taking a muscle relaxer when I went to PT, thinking it might help and I got really dizzy, broke out in a sweat and thought I might faint. I didn't but was happy to lie down and let the PT work on my shoulder. I just mainly used the muscle relaxer when I went to bed. Normally if I need something I can get away with maybe one Advil. I am getting better and seeing changes. It doesn't hurt to reach forward to get things off the counter. At first I had to keep the hand soap sitting at the edge of the left-hand side of the counter and lay a towel withing my reach which was not much. I can pick more things up now and pretty soon I might be able to wear a dress that zips up. Every time I have went to church, I have worn the same black pull-on skirt. We had no water Saturday night. I made cake and brownies and went to run water into the sink and the water was off. My husband called and they said the whole area had no water and they were fixing it. It took a while. A few days before that the power was out. We sat in front of the fireplace and played cards. That was strange as there was not bad weather. My husband was talking about getting a backup generator. We do have a generator that you put gas in, but it has only been used once and that was when my husband was out of country. Our last home was near a hospital, and it seemed we had very few power outages there. None that lasted long anyway.

Roselyn, nice work on the cardio day and shoulders, bis, and tris. Thanks for the prayers.

Doreen, nice work getting in the bike ride and arms today.

I didn a Lindsay Bomgren Legs & Back workout today. It was pretty good but the power moves in the circuts had jumping and so I modified some of them.

Cold here - probably the coldest we've been in a couple years - 5 this morning. I didn't take the dog out.

Hi,

My appointment went well yesterday. I got a second opinion from a different Endodontist my new Orthodontist recommended. Glad I went with her. I wasn't too happy to get more radiations from all the images I had done for the last 3 weeks. Turns out I don't need another root canal :) She did see a black spot between the root canal. Since I am in no pain, she doesn't want to do surgery. She does want get another panoramic picture in a year. Now I can go forward with my new Orthodontist Invisalign treatment. My old Orthodontist dumped me a few weeks ago, she never took out the attachments in my mouth . invisalign attachments. I can't get too much into a lot of details on the OF. I found a real good highly rated Orthodontist with the highest Invisalign rating with is Diamond.

This morning we had to take Sadie back to the vet. He took a lot of x rays. There is something wrong with her tracheo. He doesn't want her on meds at the moment unless it gets worse. Luckily I took a video of her breathing this morning. Glad I did. She needs also a follow appointment in June for more X-rays. At first he was like her heart was enlarged. Glad it wasn't her heart.

I will get my workout in shortly. I did take Sadie for a nice long walk today. BBL

I have been extremely busy so I don't have much time but wanted to say I did RAW Ascending Pyraminds Upper Body and have to say, this is one awesome workout. Love it and I hardly do it. It's old school lifting, no timing and all that crap. Just straight lifting. I wish I had time to write out the workout, I will try to get to it later but I will be busy this evening as well.

Workout was 52 minutes, burned 419 calories and HR was 143/166. Great workout!!

I will read all your posts this evening when I can finally sit and catch my breath. Hope you are all doing well!
