Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2022!!

Hello Everyone,

A lot has happened since last I posted we are settling in to the new house DH got me a puppy for my birthday in September and that has been a big change, we thought he had prostrate cancer his numbers were high but have returned to the normal range he has to retest next month to see where they are at. I lost my job a couple of weeks ago it just wasn’t a good fit. I have been exercising off and on trying to lease train our dog because she is overweight but that’s not going great and the weather isn cooperating. I applied to Ulta last Wednesday checked in with them Monday hoping for a phone call other than that working on unemployment. I know you have all been busy I read all the check ins.
 
Ohh Roxie - What kind of puppy did you get?

This morning I did a pre-mix of Kelly's new DVD - the Dumbell intervals of Cardiofit. It was a good premix - alternative upper body and lower body weights from both workouts.

Roxie - glad you are back. I missed you. Sorry about your work. Fingers crossed you find something that is a good fit soon. Congrats on the new puppy. I adopted a yorkie in September. She is the sweetest little thing. What's your fur baby's name? Mine is Sadie :)

The breeder called her Kix we named her Sophie and she is a spoiled brat and runs the house. It’s been 6 years since we have had a dog so it’s an adjustment can’t wait to see how she does on the boat. She is 7 months old.
 
Tonight I did Michelle Briehler 30 min. Full Body Trisets. 5 blocks of 3 exercises, 30 secs./ 5 sec rest in between. Each block repeated 2x. Every muscle worked and I was breathing hard. I loved it. The time flew.

Belinda, I almost did the same Heather workout today. I think I may do that one tomorrow, it looks good. I can't do 45 lbs but hopefully 30 lbs. You are strong! 3 sets though, probably a set of 12's. Some days I am stronger than others.

Jolie, you have had a few injuries lately. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Debbie, good KCM workouts. Sounds like your job keeps you very busy.

Doreen and Roselyn, good workouts!

I am finally gaining more strength in my left tricep. I did 2 sets of tricep extensions about 14 reps with 2, 8lb dumbbells. A month ago, I couldn't do that. I am so happy. I was giving up on building strength in that tricep for a while, but I guess its happening.

This morning I did a Caroline Girvan workout. I did one that she did before Christmas which was short and sweet. And hard. It's called 20 Minute HARD Upper Body Workout w/Dumbbells. This is how it went.

40 on/20 off - 3 sets
Chest Press: 20's

40 on alternating side for 3 full sets - No rest
One Arm Row: 25#

40/40/40 on then 20 seconds after triset - 3 full sets
Rear Delt Flyes: 10's
Diagonal Raises: 10's
Overhead Press: 10's
This was tough without rests

40 on/20 off - 3 sets
Dips
However, I did Dips for 1 set, Overhead Extension w/ 15# for one set and Kickbacks w/ 5's for last set

40/20/40
Hammer Curls: 15's
Hold
Hammer Curls: 15's
Killer, only 1 set through

40/20/40
Dumbbell Curls: 10's
Hold: 10's
Dumbbell Curls: 10's
This was tough, too, even with 10's

Finisher - 20/20/20/20 - no rest
Alternate Lateral Raise: 8's
Partials: 8's
Repeat

Fun and tough workout. I also walked on my treadmill at a REALLY slow speed due to my knee for about .6 miles. Total workout was 49 minutes, burned 362 calories and HR was 139/175.

Roselyn - Good job with Caroline's workout yesterday. I do like her, I just don't like to continually do her workouts. I wish some of these instructors would go back to old school workouts - sets and reps. LOL!!

Jolie - Wow on the sciatica, that is not good. I hope you are doing better today. That is the worst pain, I swear!!

Belinda - Great workout yesterday!! Kicking butt!!

Roxie - Good to hear your update. I would be afraid of getting a job at Ulta - I'd spend every cent of my paycheck there. I would owe them money by the time payday came. LOL!!! Good luck, though, I hope you get it!!!

Doreen - Great job with your workout, that one sounds good by Kelly. All of her workouts are good in my book.

Cam - Yes, my job does keep me busy. I love it because I get the summers off and all the days the schools get off mostly. It's a great job, though. I do all kinds of educational programs for all the kids in our county - so not just one school district, all of them.

I did a 20 minute recovery ride on IFIT with Ashliegh McIvor on the Atlantic road in Norway this morning - that would be such a cool place to see. Then I took the dog for a quick 15 minute walk. I guess this is my easy day!

Today is a rest day on my rotations. I did managed to go for a walk today.

Roxie - aww....sounds like Sophie is running the house. Yes, it's an n adjustment having having a puppy around. I am sure Sophie will do great on the boat.I can't imagine a life without Sadie. We adopted her from the shelter. She turned 3 in Nov.

Debbie - great workout as always.

Cam - did you end up doing the workout I did yesterday? Aww..thank you! Not too long ago I couldn't lift anything heavier than 5#. I am still not where I was with my upper body. I also have day's where I can lift heavier, sometimes I have to back off.

Belinda, today I did Heather's Leg Day Shred. I liked it. I used a 20 lb kettlebell and a set of 12's and 15's. I made the good mornings Cathe style. I don't want to put a dumbbell on the back of my neck. I did a little extra low impact cardio and my legs are quite fatigued.

Debbie, that looks like a good Caroline workout. Hope your knee is doing better.

Jolie, hope you are doing better.

Time to take the dog out and its raining. Ughhh!

Today I did KCM's Boxfit and had an ok workout. My knee was fine when I got started, but then I did a partial squat and it got all painful again. It almost feels like there's a bone fragment under my knee cap. It hurts to go down the stairs the most, walking and normal sitting/standing doesn't hurt. So weird and annoying. I remember I had this a long time ago and it did go away. I hope it goes away soon. I want to do cardio and can't do anything except boxing because it's mostly standing in place. I can't win, it's one thing or another with my body anymore. I was going to walk on my treadmill but decided against it.

Anyways, workout was 35 minutes, burned 280 calories, did 4750 steps and HR was 143/171.

Jolie - How are you doing today? Getting old sucks!!!!

Gotta go, have a lot to do with S&E scheduling today. I'll catch up with you all tomorrow. I have read all your posts.

I am 50% better but not all the way by any means. I went to a new Chiro, who helped me a lot, but I have a shooting pain down my left leg and cannot bend down at all. My regular Chiro just got back into town, so I am going today to see him. He will help me; he knows what to do to fix this since it happens every year lately. When my lower back starts to bother me when I sit down, I now know that it is time to get my lazy butt an adjustment before something severe happens like this. It is all about prevention and I had warning signs and choose to think it would go away on its own. Nope! This too shall pass. I suppose I will be walking only for the next week and then back to the weights. If it's not one thing, it's another!

I forgot to mention, it is going to be 85 degrees here today! It is only February and this weather is like summertime. My parents have in the 90's today in the Palm Springs area. So weird, half of America is freezing, and the other half is so warm.
 
Good Afternoon,

I got new glasses yesterday and not happy with them the left lense is the one they went up in power on and everything looks blurry like when it gets dirty keep taking them off to look at them. Sitting in the dogs chair because DH is asleep on the couch and she isn’t happy with me. I did KCM’s new CardioFit the Kickbox Dumbbell workout and really liked it. After we pick my glasses up we went to target and I bought 4 new swimsuits if that doesn’t motivate me I don’t know what will. I still haven’t heard anything from Ulta.

Debbie-it’s going to be even more dangerous working or going in there because Fenty and Charlo Tilbury is going to now be sold there. Sephora is losing there top companies to Ulta.

Jolie- I am Jealous it’s only 50 here today was in the 60’s at the beginning of the week

I did a premix from KCM Power Splits this morning - Upper body first and then lower body. It works - very straightforward exercises for 30 mintues.

I got to see my Chiro today and he worked on me for some time and fixed the problem! I had 3 bulging discs in the middle of my back and that was hitting on a few nerves. I have had this issue since I delivered my first son 21 years ago and have been dealing with it ever since. I blew out these discs in delivery and then in the end had a C Section. Also, the epidural damaged my disc and nerves so this will always be an issue here and there. I feel 75% better than I did this morning!!!! He told me to walk for the next week but not too hard of walks and this will get blood circulating and help with the damage, it helps with rejuvenation. I am so relieved to be out of pain. He told me the minute I start having any back pain to address the issue immediately. I always put it off but no more.

Today I did Tracy Steen 50 min. Upperbody Supersets and No Repeat Cardio. I did this one a couple months ago and remember why I saved it. Its a goodie. I also took my Lab for a walk since my daughter was tied up with work today. I haven't taken her for a long walk in a long time. More like she walked me. But I got a couple hills in.

This morning I did the workout Doreen did yesterday - KCM Power Splits and did the Upper Body workout. Loved it. I can't wait to be able to work my lower body again, the leg workout looks awesome.

This workout had a boxing finisher as well. Sort of worried about doing all that boxing I've been doing, I'm making sure I stretch a lot afterwards. I really hope I can start doing normal cardio again soon.

One exercise for each body part - 50 on/10 off for 3 sets

Incline Chest Press: 20's
Incline Triceps Extension: 12's
Incline Alternate One Arm Rows: 15's/20's/20's
(this was weird doing it while sitting on the incline, didn't feel like I was working my back at all)
Standing Shoulder Press: 15's/15's/12's
Alternate Hammer Curls: 15's/20's/20's

Then did the Boxing Finisher using 2# hand weights. That was fun!

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 277 calories, HR was 133/169.

Jolie - Glad to hear you are feeling better!! Thank God for your chiro. Wish I had trust in them, I just don't. Yes, my PT really did help me with my issues. I will go back to her in a heartbeat. I can't believe the heat wave you are having there. 85 is insane this time of year!

Roxie - Sometimes it can take up to a week to adjust to new glasses, don't condemn then yet. I didn't know Ulta was getting Charlotte Tilbury stuff? OMG, that is dangerous for me. Although the only thing I've used from her line so far is the Hollywood Contour Wand. Love that thing. Her makeup is too expensive for me but occasionally I like to treat myself. I hope you hear from them. Maybe give them a call and see if they are still interviewing?

Doreen - I did the same workout you did yesterday. I really liked it.

Good Afternoon,

I took my glasses back and they rechecked my eyes and she adjusted the strength again so now I have to wait for them again. No workout yet I stopped at oldest DD’s house to redo my resume going to take it to Ulta and see if it helps.

Debbie-the only thing I have tried is her lipstick and liner. Did you know L.A. Girl has a color adjuster for foundation?
