Getting Our Licks In!

Brrrr--it is cold here. I want our springlike weather back. Guess I'll have to wait until spring-LOL! Ripken was moving slow this morning but we got a good walk in. I'm thinking he doesn't like Monday mornings much either. Did CardioSuperSets this morning. I think I like the last superset the best--probably because it is the last one.

Laura: getting your cardio in and not drinking alcohol until the week of Christmas will certainly help. I'm going to have to start incorporating push-aways into my exercise at the dinner table. You know: just push away from the table.

ReneeP: I was thinking: wow, I can't believe Renee has a son who is 29 and then I remembered he is your step son--so that makes more sense.;) I've been eyeing CrossFire the past few days but I've been going for the older Cathe workouts (although I did do Cardiosupersets today and that is only a year old). Maybe Cross Fire later in the week.

Today I did a little yoga. It's been to long and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Laura, Great job on Plyo Tabatta prem from CF and Low impact Tabatta prem. Wow, good job! Also the usual class. Wish I could be a fly to see all your beautiful Christmas decorations. Maybe some pics? Seems like there is endless things to do.

ReneeP, Great job on HC yesterday and crossfire. And HC Getting Stronger for 20 min. Soon I'll be doing them with you. I Should order Vol. 1 tonight.:) Great job on this mornings body fusions upper body add on with yoga relax. I

Michelle, I want Spring back too. It's cold here too, just clear and crispy. Great job walking with Ripken. Also Cardio Super Sets.

Janie real quick.. I got vol 1 and getting stronger one. Im thinking im so weak I should have gotten the getting started, first. I just didnt want to get one to easy that id only use a feq times. But like I,said I probly should have started with it. Zowsa! Im not sure if it was crossfire or HC but my legs are sore in inner thighs. Plus my ribs hurt it is hard to breatje in. so it may n crossfire since I havnt done it before. But then again I never got sore before doing cf. So it may be HC. Im still sore in my back and inner thighs. One part of HC u stand up in wide pliae and squat then pulse then jump. I think that is y inner thighs hurt. Lol feels good. Except im getting a cold as well lol.
 
Why is it that Ripken likes to sit in the rain? I'm just asking. It was lightly raining this morning and Ripken is not bothered by the rain (unless its accompanied by hurricane/TS winds!). Toward the end of our walk this morning, he just plops his butt down and sits with a big goofy smile on his face, rain on his head. What a goof. Of course, when we got home, I had to towel him dry which he loves. I wasn't feeling particularly inspired this morning with regards to exercising but I did Body Fusion and was happy that I did. Might just be a cardio circuits week after all.

Janie: yoga is good for the body, mind, and soul. A good choice for this time of year. You haven't mentioned Rolly lately--how is he doing?

ReneeP: what is HC? I'm blanking on that one.

Michelle.. Its Horizontal Conditioning. There is alot of talk about it. So of course I just HAD to bye and try. Lol. It is lots of plank work for abs. But we did sit ups to and squats. I think she adds that in to give arms a brake.
I heard labs love water! So that maybe y.. Bit could be he knows if he gets wet then he gets to dry off.. More attention! Lol
Funny my Duke wont take bath but he to sits in the rain. I thought the lab likes the rain and the chow in him hates the bath? Lol I know what u mean about thunder storms. Duke actualy crys to come in house if he hears shots, fire crackers, or thunder. Lol

Hi y'all! I finally on Week for of Meso Cycle 3!!!! Whoop!! I might just do 1 week of it but I've stuck with it this far I might as well finish strong!! I also did Cardio Coach on Elliptical and broke a nice sweat ( In line with my goal of a little cardio every day. To lean out). I still have 1 more class tonight to teach... My Fusion class... I had a new older gentlemen in my beginner Pilates class today who seemed to really love it he was very complimentary which is always nice!!

Michelle: I hope that my plan works!! I like your 'push away' principal! Lol! It's so true if food is in front of me I will tend to nibble at it until its taken away!!! I bet renee is right Ripkin likes sitting in the rain just to get extra troweled off!!

Renee that's so weird I just read on the open forums about HC than came here and saw that's what you were doing! Do you like it? Ill have to go google it now!


Tonight we are going to cut our tree down and get it put up with lights on it so it will be ready to decorate this Sunday after the Girls last performance!
 
Okay I did low impact step. Im still sore in ribs. Ugh.
Laura yes I have been reading about HC to. Thats why I decided to try. Alot of people are getting nice results. It has different ones the first is called getting started I did not get that one. I was afraid it would be easy that I could not grow with it or get bored so I got the next one up called getting stronger. I also boughtt vol 1 for when I get better. Well I should have gotten the first one lol. Getting stronger well It was hard! Im so weak in tummy I guess. I am sore today and yesterday in my chest for some reason. It is strange cause it feels like how it felt when I first started jogging. My lungs hurt and ribs and side. Now I feel that same way and it was just plank work and crunches. Plyo squats. Im gonna try to do it again tomorrow!

Rest day today. My elbow is feeling so much better now. I can't wait to start exercising it in Jan. I feel so confident that it's healing, I canceled my visit to the doctors. BTW, I'm losing those extra pounds I've gained. Yea!

Michelle, Ripken likes sitting in the rain, because he knows he will get dried off afterwards. LOL Smart puppy. Great job on BF even though you didn't really feel like it. Good for you. O My, my Rolly is being spoiled. Even though we can't go and walk outside because of all the knee high puddles, He is getting treats as he goes outside from the doggie door. Bless his little heart, he figured out that every time he goes out there, (no matter what) he gets a treat. Is that spoiling him? Yep it is. LOL

ReneeP, Hmmm, you are making me consider getting those starter HC workouts. Even when and if I can't workout full blast, I can refer to them. Might be a good purchase. Good job on your DOM's. Means you are working hard. So sorry to hear about you catching a cold. Darn!

Laura, Great job doing Meso Cycle 3, for me one of the toughest workouts in cardio. Also great job on CC on the elliptical. Enjoy the tree festivities tonight and through the weekend. Give your girls a high five for me on ther last performance. How sweet!

The sun is back-YEAH! After walking Ripken this morning, I did the pyramd down premix from Pyramid Upper Body. I can almost do all the reps on those inverted pyramid planks on the ball at the end. Just short 4 reps on the first cycle through.

Good to have everyone checking in. I'll try to get back later today for personals.

I did mega step blast yesterday I think I need to do a weight workout tonight. Need total body so may be supersets or push pull. I wish Cathe would do another dvd weight that is total body and 45 min I love that.
 
Yoga was good yesterday. My elbow hurts some days and other days it's OK. Doesn't have anything to do with exercise if I'm very careful. Weirdest thing. I need patients.

Michelle, Great job on walking Ripken and pyramid down prem fro PUB. Sounds like you are stronger on that one. Good for you!

ReneeP, Great job on yesterday's mega step blast. You are doing such a good job.

Hi Fellow Cathaletes!! I am back in another yoga training which started yesterday and goes through Sunday so STS is on another hold, no wonder it has taken me 10 months to get through that's how busy I am!!! Lol! And this Sat I am still trying to figure out how to be in 4 different places at the same time!

The training might not have been the best choice for me, the woman is very very skilled and well renowned in our area AND she is a mother of one of the girls classmates which is how I ended up there, but honestly it's a little over my head and assumes a deep and broad base knowledge of two particular forms of yoga I am not familiar so I feel like I am being asked to write poetry when I am not grounded in the language, plus 70% of the curriculum I never teach at the Rec Center where I work which is pretty beginner ... So jot sure what to do? Any ideas?
 
Michelle thanks for the info on HC it does sound like it really nailed your core, the ribs are most likely the obliques which are major muscles for stabling the core especially with unstable environments, of course they are also major mobilizer of the trunk/spine for side bending twisting and rotating but I find mine get the most DOMS after deep stability work
 
Janey I am glad your tennis elbow is getting better! I am surprised yoga didnt bother it unless it wasn't alot of weight bearing on your wrists! Good job on weight loss! Lord help me I feel like I am blowing up like a balloon!!
 
Michelle oh my the weather has been strangely mild gear so mild in fact that people were outside in the sun t lunch with their sleeveless exercise tanks on! There is no snow and it is to warm to make snow so although the ski resorts are open they are having trouble keeping their few runs covered! I love PUB!! My absolute favorite upper body Cathe workout but I've never been a fa of PLB!

Laura...yes u are one busy lady. I dont see how u get any exercise in all the other stuff u do. Im so sure u will catch on with the new yoga. And if not just relax and enjoy and thank your body for what it gave u for that day.. Lol sound familar yet? Cathe says something like that. Lol.
Ok I did pub down premix today. Only wanted to go so long .. I felt my biceps good! Im hoping to have delicious DOMS! Love that dvd to.
Im gonna try lower body blast tomorrow. I need cardio but need lower body to. I am not usong a barbell this time. Last time I tried this wo I had to stop and pick a different one.
 
Wow wanted to get some cardio in and legs loke lower body blast, but my end of my week is tomorrow and wanted to fit it all in. I guess no lower body blast. I feel so sick. I did PUB yesterday but not only am I sore from that. For some reason my knees are feeling funny. And I have a cold. Not sure if im sore from wo or cold.. My neck hurts all musles ache. I hope I feel better soon. I need to burn calories. Crap! Lol maybe I will wait alittle bit and hopfully I will feel better this evening.

ReneeP, So sorry about you not being able to do your exercises from being sick. Hope you get better soon. But you managed to do Tamal Dodge Hatha yoga. Good for you. How are you feeling now?

Laura, When I did the yoga, I made sure I didn't use my right arm. There was enough stretching that I was able to do to make me feel better about exercise. I can't wait until it's healed! So happy to hear that you are training another yoga. Sounds like you are so so busy. Hope you work it all out.

Just read your second post about the yoga. Wow I wouldn't know what to do, but crossing fingers for you to figure it out. Let us know what you do. ((hugs)).

I have Horizontal Conditioning "Get Rolling" and Vol.4 and just ordered Vol. 1. That will be enough for me. Today was yoga again and 30 min. on the spin bike. Sure needed both of them. My arm is still very sore, but like I said everyday I feel it getting better and better. So pleased. I think though that my dream of having a body builders body is gone.:( What was I thinking? Now my dream is just to be strong and healthy and be grateful for what I have. Haven't given up on being the best I can be, thanks to all your encouragements.
