Getting Our Licks In!

Renee: my dh is the same way! He just gets into bed and starts snoring!!! Ugh!! Well guess there is nothing like an urgent all of nature to put a pep in your step! Lol glad that ur running again! I need to start back up too! I am feeling that jiggle to and not happy about it!!!

Lol. Well I just hope to lose the jiggle and weight before my knees blow out lol.
 
Today will be a lot of art work. Later tonight I'll be using the spin bike and watching TV. LOL

ReneeP, LOL:eek: so funny about your husband's sleeping habits. Great job on jogging slower and doing the full 3 miles at a job. Good for you! Sometimes when I'm out on the trails there is a trail with my name on it. (bathroom time) LOL:eek:. Bet you don't have that much coverage though when you jog/walk for miles at a time.

Laura, I'm eating toooooo much chocolate to right now. After Christmas is my time to really work hard on it and especially in Jan. will work hard exercising and eating. It's not that far away. Great job on teaching your two hour class. Wow! Also for Sat. STS Squat Rack Legs and cardio coach on the elliptical. Was wondering how O'Mally died as well. Can't get any answers anywhere. Soon you will be able to snow ski, the weather can't be warm for to much longer. Enjoy it when you can, I know you will. I don't know how I got that much support from people, I am so grateful. With Cathe's website it made it all possible. How cool is that? Such a funny thing with my elbow. Some days it's good other days it's bad. Guess that's how it heals. Hope I'm ready by Jan. to continue on with my fitness.

Hi everyone!
My goodness I have a stiff neck on one side down almost to the traps I guess, but not there all the way. Feels weird to turn,my head it started yestedday just as the day went on then was gone it was fine this morning and its starting again . Feels like a tight muscle. I went for a walk today. I need to lift today.hard to like it! Im a cardio lover lover. It is hard to just do weights Ior an hour. I feel im wasting my time. Id like to do a 40 minutes of steady or med intensity followed by 20 or 25 minutes for about three muscle groups every day or cardio everyday,with upper body then lower body every other day. I hate spending 30 or 40 minuyes on just one or two muscles. Thats unnecessary for what I need to do for now. I need to lose weight, and tone up and get some muscle or maintain what muscles ive gained. I see some of what ive developed but im to fat to really see them. I dont want to b a body builder right now id settle for normalness. Or just healthy slim does that make since?
Ok so I walked a leasure pace today no running ..wanted to give it a brake. I may do and old Kathy smith workout today. She has one called lift weights to lose weight ..that one is upper body in 20 minute and lower body 20 minutes. I may try it. I hope I eat good today. I got up and ate cornchips at 1 am! Sabatoged my healthy eating and all that jogging. See Laura im confessing now! Y do I do that to myself.
Laura im,hoping we can just get right back up and try again.

It has been a few days since I posted. With the addition of holiday activities on top of work, taking care of my DH and Ripken, and the normal daily routine, this has been a busy week. Bear with me as I recap the last few days of exercise: Thursday was Yoga Max express #1, Friday was High Reps upperbody premix, Saturday was Low Impact Circuit all step premix, and today was Timesaver #1. Everyone here is doing well--staying healthy and busy. Ripken is doing okay. Every time I go shopping, he gets a new squeaky toy. The latest one is a holiday squirrel with a big red and green swishy tail. My pup may be old but he is still too cute with his squeaky toys.

ReneeP: I saw that you asked Cathe a question and she answered you. I like the looks of the rotation that she provided. Are you going to try it? Let me know and I will do it with you. Power in numbers--even when we workout across the miles.

Laura: you are so busy, I don't know when you find time to have some Christmas cheer. You would think all the extra activity would help burn some extra calories.

Janie: don't fall too far off the wagon. Just walk away from the chocolate. Yeah, I know, easier said then done. Check your private messages for another note from me.

Okay gang. I think we are all struggling a bit this month. I know that I'm not bouncing back from STS, I feel like I'm still in active recovery. So I'm just throttling back this month and doing shorter workouts, listening to my body, but not letting things fall apart. Let's join hands, give ourselves a group (((((HUG))))) and just keep doing something at least 5-6 days a week, then we can hit the new year hard.

Michelle that woul d b wonderful I have my planned rest days on either mon or thursday. But I need to print it out. My computer is at best buy yet again .. Third time since june. !!!! Then I need ink but when I get a chance to print then yes id love to try it.
Or if u decide to do it and print it out maybe u can let me know what wo is up for that day? I wouldnt want u to b put out but I have no way to print it. And Id love to try it. Maybe it will help with weight loss.
 
Whoop Whoop just did last Chest & Back disc from STS!! I hope to finish it off by the end of the week! So I can have an active recovery week over vacation! I might do two weeks of recovery.....


Thanks Michelle for keeping us on track! & Renee thanks for the confession it makes me feel better!!! I am in the same boat' i am happy with my muscle mass but need to lean out! A lot! Im thinking of doing that rotation of Cross Fire & Turbo people are saying they increased their endurance cardiovascularly and leaned out with that rotation. Which rotation are you referring to Michelle?
 
Cathe answered a question I asked I explined I used to jog and got pf and I need to lose weight ..i wanted to know how to do steady state cardio and fit in high intensity and intrevals and weights in a way to help lose weight yet be good on my feet and knees. She gave me a rotation that seems relativly easy to follow. My problem is I dont have a computer to print or even save it. I rwally need to disipline myself to follow a rotation and eat right. I just get bored easy lol. I still would like to addd a jog in there once a week I only jog for 30or maybe 35 min so I should b able to add weights that day. Not sure. Maybe we all can do it.
Another thing that messes me up is my rest day is diff. Sounds dumb lol or an excuse? I have got to be like the real old nike commercial.. Just do it! Btw I am always excited when she answers! I run n tell the DH n DS whoever will listen lol.

Did spinning today about 45 min while watching TV. Sweated up a storm and used a tid pit more power.

Here is what I did today in the way of art. It's my grandson with Down Syndrome, it's called" Adrian". Decided to use zentangles around his cute little face. Most likely will mess around with it until I think it's better. More shading on the left side for starters. We picked names for Christmas this year and I picked my daughter in law. Hope she likes it. Can't put it on FB because she is on it all the time and will see it, so I'll share it here. Would have any way. LOL

It goes a long way in continuing with being healthy and fit.

ReneeP, You are lucky to get a rotation from Cathe. Write down the rotation, it's your only choice. It will be done in no time, then you'll have a copy to look at any time you want.

Yesterday in,addition to walking 3 miles I also did rock bottom dvd by Cathe it is an old vhs I got on amazon for i think 4 or 6 dollars.cant remember. But anyway it is more like an add on I thjnk its 30 min. U do lunges on step and off using 3 pounds only worming shoulders as u lunge pulsing the should three pulses..then u move to the floor with a.kle weights. I cant do all reps on the floor yet but im,so weak in legs that im ot moving to a harder workout til I can do every rep. See I really think thats where I went wrong I was buying up all Cathes dvd so excited about them I pushed to do them and did them even though they were way more advanced then I truly was. Maybe. Im not sure yet but im sticking with mm premix supersets and pushpull.. Add on on body fusion and fit n firm for weights til I nail every rep. Tjen ill do gym styles, Lbb. I can do the advanced upper bodys but not lower. So what do u guys think? Do u think maybe I went to fast in my attemps? I mean I hear if u go to heavy before ur ready it can cause injury. Any how im gonna write Cathe rotation out n sub the weight work with ones that I know I can do.

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! Little Rippy and I had a nice walk this morning. We did our new version of a long walk for him--about 3/4 of a mile. I haven't tried our 2 mile walk in quite a while--I think he would seriously poop out on me. He hung right with me through my exercise this morning and then got his licks in. I did another Timesaver workout this morning--TS#3. Just the ticket for the way I am feeling these times. I haven't pulled out Cathe's Timesaver dvd in a few years. Right now I feel like it is the Lifesaver dvd--LOL!

ReneeP: no rush on doing the rotation together. You let me know when you are ready to start. I saved the rotation to my computer, so I could let you know the workout each day until you get your computer back.

Janie: what a lovely picture of your grandson. Your talent continues to amaze me. BTW, I am wearing a piece of your jewelry today.

Laura: congratulations on finishing (or almost finishing STS). It sounds like you have a few more days. Sister and I finished STS about a month ago and I still feel like I need active recovery time.

So, are we all looking forward to a Cathe Christmas with the new XTRAIN workouts? If the box comes before Christmas, I am wrapping it and putting it under the tree.

Id like to start maybe anytime like tues, I try to have monday or thurs as rest day. So anytime we could start tomorrow tues and that would be her monday. Am I making since? See I know sounds utterly silly but if her rest day is sun it throws me off. So we just change the day .. Like tues is her mon. See, I give myself a headache now you guys can see why I get them. I make simple things complicated!
I was thinking of getting the timesavers... Are they stilll good for weightloss or is is more maintaining? You are doing well on ur wos btw did u guys see update? Brakedown of another wo is up. Then they said they may have clips next week of a few dvds.
Oh I keep forgetting to mention I did HC two times a week as add on. But I cant do all reps yet so I never mention it cause I feel like im getting nowhere for now. I do the 20 min ones.
Today I did KPC 32 minutes premix of cardio conditioning. I was at work alone again so once I got my work caught up I have to b there to answer phones. So insread of just sitting on my big butt, I brought DH computer and picked a dvd to do a light wo. It was supose to be a rest day. I still consider it a rest day cause it was only 32 minutes and was not hard. Just something to do.

In the process of doing artwork and didn't get to the posts yesterday. It got way to late.

Also did some yoga yesterday afternoon.

The person I'm drawing has been bullied all her life, through grade school and also in high school.
When I saw my second cousin's photo, I looked at that and thought how sad she is. I asked my sister, (she is now with my sister) her story. The story touched my heart. She has been bullied and her mama is a little too busy to notice. Because I also was bullied during grade school and high school I know what she is going through. Words expressed like those kids did to me, literally broke me.
I hid in the bathroom stall, behind buildings, anywhere to get away from the kids verbal abuse. All the while crying my eyes out. Then I was caught hiding in those places and forced to go outside at recess only to face my torturer's. So Cruel.
I'm hoping when I get done with her drawing, she knows she is loved, beautiful and not alone. One day she may take this experience and help out others later down the road. She is so withdrawn from people, but with the right environment (at my sisters) she seems to be doing much better. It all takes time. I only want for her to know when she looks at her drawing, she is not alone. She might have been bullied and broken, but not defeated.
This one is a very personable art piece.

ReneeP, Great job on walking for 3 miles and also for doing Rock Bottom. You are so lucky to get that DVD. I don't have that one. I've been searching for one for years! Lucky, lucky lucky you! Yep, I'm going to do the same thing with my workouts as well. Won't do anything until my muscles are ready for it. Being safe is so important to me now.

Michelle, Great job on walking with Ripken this morning. Also on TS#3. I love that one. Aw, I'm so glad to be thought of by wearing something I made. It's really cool. I can't wait for XTrain!

ReneeP, Changing any rotation that you can fit into your days would be great. I do that all the time. Any of Cathy's DVD's are good. I think that the newer ones will be used the most though. Everything you could possibly want are in them. Hey you should mention the HC's you do. They are hard and it doesn't matter it you did a few reps or much more, you did it. Great job on KPC prem of cardio condition conditioning. Also for doing a light workout on your rest day. You should really take those rest days and enjoy them.

Timesaver #4 today--which is a combination of KPC cardio and SJP shoulders. I've got one more timesave to go: #5 which is legs and glutes. I skipped over #2 because it includes SJP Hi/LO and and I hate HI/LO.

ReneeP: we can start whatever day you like. I just take Cathe's rotations and put in the days that correspond with start of my workout week. Doesn't matter when your week starts--I think it is more important to keep to Cathe's sequencing. Believe it or not--I have found over the years that there seems to be a reason for the way she sequences the workouts.

I'm thinking of starting a Cathe workout group at work one or two days a week in the new year to see if I can motivate some of my coworkers to kick it up a notch and get into better shape. My boss has already said that she is in and I bet I could get one or two more to give it a go. I just need to talk to somebody about the best days to use our multipurpose room so we can have Cathe running on the big screen. Then I need to pick out some workouts that won't discourage folks right off the bat which means Crossfire with Tabata is most likely out of contention for a while.

Hope everyone is doing well. Ripken says: "keep exercising so your pups can get their licks in too!"

Oh my michelle that is so true! Lol when I exercise I go to stretch and my mable jumps off couch and watches wagging tail til I lay back for whatever reason and she jumps on my belly and gets her licks lol thats funny.
Man I have tjought many times It would be fun if I could get a big place to do Cathes wo with some people from church then I tnink about we need steppers and weights and if there just starting theyd want me to have the stuff. And what wo would u start with id sat basic step and fusion and low impact step and total body toning. But those dont have the rockin music. So ud have to keep reminding them she has more! Of u could try low impact circuit.
Today was a rest day not because I wanted to but the sday I walked I got a blister and it busted today so its fresh and hudge. I wore the wrong shoes! Ugh.
Hope during the night It will dry up.
My son is taking his vacation a few days so he is going to see his dad. It may be good for him. Im hoping he will b safe. He has to go thru three states basicaly, not sure his truck will make it. He thinks it will but i dont know. I would have tnought so before but thats before he hit a tree with it a wbile back.

Hello ladies
I am did Kathy Smiths power step 398 calories on HRM then I did arms and legs total body lift by Kathy Smith. It was extremely light weights but seemed like she went one to the next so it was a burn to it. I was surprised. I really thought at first yah right come on Kathy ... But then I got some burn. The way she talks u are working deeper muscles. Well see. I did not have hrm on for that because I forgot to put it on and didnt want to stop in the middle. So after that and before power step is when I grabed it. So I havnt done her power step in a long time. It was very basic so no torque in the knees, that was nice. I got a pretty decent sweat going. But not as much as I do with Cathe.
My son left this morning. Ill miss his dog. He has a bit bull blue nose. Such a nice sweet dog he was staying with us for a while but since ryan is gonna move in town he wont be able to keep him. Soo he decided to let his real dad keep the dog. I hope he lets him run lose some. Like take him running. I wanted to when he was here. I HATE keeping a dog tied up and no exercise. Id jog him when he was a pup cause my duke is to old to jog. But anyway DS bit just got too big for me to take him out. DS worked til after dark so its best he goes to WV so maybe he can run more. He was not aggressive at all. He was so sweer. He was here alottle over a year. Im gonna miss him for sure. Geez im gonna miss DS too. But thats life.

Janie that picture is so beautiful! She is beautiful... The only reason anyone would bullie her is they had to have been jealous or they just want to control something because sometbing in them or in there life is out of control. Noway would anyone with eyes could bullie her because of looks!
I to was picked on in elementary school til I got in middle. I got meaner lol. Had to.
Im sorry u werd bullied it really does affect every facit of life. It did mine. Affect all relationships in life...how u relate to people. I used to b afraid to talk. Everytime I open my mouth someone would laugh or pick so it tought me to be quite. People never understood why I was so "backward" well u learn to b.
I ended up being quite but boy if I saw someone being picked on id be there taking up for them. I had few words but id say leave her alone now.. Or u deal with me or whats ur problem and get right in btween it. Cause I learned fast sometimes u have to do a little fighting to show u wont b pushed around. So I never started it but I never backed down once i saw someone was getting hurt. Well okay enough of that lol.
 
Good morning. Quick post today. I wrote a long post yesterday and then lost it. Yesterday was Yoga Max and today was Timesaver #5. Tomorrow I am definitely going to be taking a break day.

Nice on sticking to the timesaver. And the yoga yesterday. I havnt done yoga for too long imo. Need to do it this week. Well today I dis Cathes old vhs fit n firm.. It was light weights again. Highest was 10 pounds lol she has a beach seen lol. It was still effective really. It was push up I actualy did all they did, I felt accomplished lol. So I think I mentioned this one last week to so today I did all reps. Not to bad! Okay im trying to do myfitnesspals again. Tracking calories. Yuk lol.
 
It was short lives. Still here in the woods. Joey decided to come back home. The beach isn't dry enough to take walks and he wants to come home. I'll post later on the workout I will be doing today. Right now it's time to clean.

Reneep, Thank you for the awesome compliment on my drawing and the understanding of what it's like to go through being bullied. I'm going to do Adrian over, I don't like how I have his eyes. Not right and I'm going to add wrinkle and other things to my Dad's Hands. Also clean today. Have a lot to do. Great job on today's Cathe's Fit and Firm. Good job on tracking your calories.

Michelle, Sorry about losing your post. That is very frustrating. Great job on Yoga Max and timesaver #5. Enjoy your rest day.
