Getting Our Licks In!

Happy December! Although it felt more like April here in Boulder today, not that I am not enjoying the nice mild weather but its been going on so long now that I am almost feeling anxious about it, because I know it's not 'normal' or 'right' or 'balanced'. Eventually there will be consequences that might not be nice to endure weather it's tons of snow later with freezing temps or severe draught is yet to be discovered...


Finished my level 1 yoga training today, not sure if ill do level 2 or not she of course really wants me to but I think I might get more out of the immersions she does....
 
Janey glad the yoga didn't bother ur wrists ! Don't let go of your dream!!! Keep on keppin on'. !! It's so important to have that positive motivation to keep us going when things seem doubtful and we've lost our way!
 
Renee at least you moved! That's what matters! Sometimes my body isn't up for the exercise I planned for the day and its important to listen to That but as long as u do something then ur staying in the habit of exercising! I live PUB
 
Okay I did IMAX 2 ... I wanted something that was gonna make up for feeling sick but didnt want to get a setback. Soooo I did IMAX 2 on the topper is all. That way I could keep intensity where I want it. Plus trying to help my knees. I did whole thing and I burned 478 calories. So I think it was win win.

Janie I understand about feeling like giving up on a dream but u really were close... I mean I think it may still be within reach! I think I need to give up on losing my fat belly.. But im gonna keep trying and pushing I may not get it flat but, I sure hope I can get as close as I can and who knows it may happen. Lets just keep trying , okay?
 
Laura I know what u mean about the weather! It was 70 here. Sc
I hppe u get to level 2 & like it .. I know some types of yoga just dont match a person. I have noticed that. I think there may be a yoga for everyone and a yoga that may not work for everyone! Did that make since? Lol I know what I mean but I dont think I articulated it well! Lol

Today is a rest day. After I go to the post office I'll be doing some artwork.

Laura, I don't blame you for worrying about the nice weather you are having. Hoping there are no consequences to endure. All I can say is enjoy and what will be will be. Just be safe.
Great job on yoga training. About Level 2, do what you want to do. Listen to your body.
Since I've been injured I've been doing a lot of soul searching and rethinking what I want for my body. Nearing 62 and prone for injuries at that age I've come to the realization that just wanting to be the best is good for me. Body building results not only depends on genes but also a lot of sacrifices. Don't think the gene is in my family anyway. It's kind of a relief to just relax and enjoy and not rush into getting this perfect body. I don't consider it a failure, just a learning experience. Tried that, not for me, so lets move on. You guys and my family give me the positive motivation to keep going with exercise and to have a happy healthy life. Thank you so much Laura for that.

Thank you so much Renee for assuring me that I'm close to the body building body. In truth though, I just want to do the best I can and live a healthy happy life without injuries. I don't consider it a failure, like I said to Laura, just a learning experience. I am so motivated for Jan. 1 to arrive to get going again on my exercises. I can't wait!:D
You can lose that belly fat...it will happen...you can do it. Just do the best you can, that's all anyone can do. I will never stop trying to be happy and healthy.

Sorry for being MIA so long. Wow--I think PUB last Wednesday was my last check in. Took a break on Thursday, Slide and Glide on Friday, LIS cardio only premix and Christmas shopping on Saturday, LIS total body trisets upper yesterday, and LIS Low Impact Challenge today. Whew-glad I could just remember that.

Janie: body building is just two words--and quite frankly, you have been body building. Okay, maybe you are not going to be in the Mrs. Universe competition (if they still do that) but you go look in the mirror at the wonderful, healthy body that you have built. You just didn't get to be an awesome 62 year old woman who can lift some major weight and has the cardio endurance of a 20-something--you worked hard to build to where you are. So, I say--pish-posh--to not getting to your goals. I think you have done FANTASTIC.

Laura: we are having spring-like weather too, but that is the mid-Atlantic. The cold days will come. I just hope they are not too severe.

ReneeP: you did IMAX2 and you weren't feeling good? Wow--that was brave. Did you kick the illness out of your body? And don't give up on a flat belly. Just remember, flat compared to what you used to be. And think in terms of year comparisons because change doesn't happen overnight.

Yes I did IMAX 2 But I lowered it to the topper is all. It made it alot easier to do. I felt good after, I cleared out my nose! I was scared I was gonna get a headache. But im happy I didnt. Rest day today.
You did great on ur workouts! I have never done slide n glad, I have it but I cant get into the disk.. So afraid im gona slide to much and hurt my knees or split to far! I do it for afterburn but cant see using disk the whole time ..im just to clumsy! Lol
Janie hope u are doing well this evening and MICHELLE IS SO RIGHT look at what u can do! You have heart and u are so much more fit then most 20 yr olds. You should be so proud! I wanted to stand and clap when I read what she wrote!
Laura i hope u are well. Try not to be to busy! Lol
 
Hi had lots of fun tonight teaching my classes Pilates & Ski. Just one of those fun nights when the classes fly by.... I kept the girls home to have a recovery day after their final weekend of performances and we got the house all decorated for Christmas and tree done! I also did a smaller 'peppermint' tree which is so cute i love it! It has red and white lights red balls with white snowflakes on them a twirled a red an silver bead garland together and wrapped it around the tree and it has candy canes all over it and its topped off with a red and white angel! It came out great! We are so cash poor this year that presents are going to be slim so we are focusing on christmas spirit and time together as a family!
 
Michelle: good to hear from you. Sounds like some good workouts! I still need to explore mor of the Low Impact Series. I have done almost all of it at least once but i want to revisit it again. Wonderful words from you to Janie!

Janie: yes yes yes to what Michelle said! You have come so far and accomplished so much!!! Don't loose sight of that

Renee: glad your feeling better! I haven't done any step in awhile cause of my hamstring! You have inspired me to revisit some step although maybe a less high impact one....
 
Hmm, I thought I posted yesterday, but I don't see it. Yesterday was a rest day, haven't figured out what to do today.

Michelle, Great job on PUB last Wed., rest on Thur. Friday's S&G, LIS cardio only premix and getting some Christmas shopping in on Sat., also for doing LIS Total body trisets and todays LIS Low Impact Challenge today. Whew is right! You indeed did your exercises for the week. Good job.
You are right! I have been building my body and it's the best (except for this set back) I can be. That's what important now. Thank you for the wonderful reminder. So glad you are here in my life.

ReneeP, Yep, Michelle is such a supporter. It's always nice to hear from her and her encouragements. I love hearing them from you as well. They mean a lot to me. I will be doing IMAX 2 in Jan. with the topper on. Hey you did it! You should be proud of yourself. Renee, for you I stood up and clapped. You are doing such a good job.

Laura, Great job on teaching your Pilates and ski classes. I can envision you and the girls decorating for Christmas. How fun. OOO I bet the peppermint tree looks awesome. Cash poor, I can relate. Focusing on Christmas spirit (Jesus) and time together as a family is what it's all about. Enjoy. Thank you for your encouragement, I won't lose site of what Michelle said. It's important I know.

Yesterday I did 4 ds bootcamp. And the first 15 or 20 min of bi and tris.
Today I did a walk jog with son only 20 min but thats all he wanted to do so I did a premix of cardi n weights and stoped at 35 min because I could not push like I wanted my knees was feeling bad. I got frustrated and stop to stretch. I hope they start feeling better.
 
Did the Wedding Video today cardio only.

ReneeP, Great job on bootcamp and 20 min. of bi and tris. Also for today's 20 min. job with your son and 35 min. prem. of cardo & weights. Glad you listened to your body. You did good stretching too. Good job girl.

Yesterday was a rest day. I kinda needed it ... Wasnt feeling energitic lol . Today I walk fast for 5 min then jogged for two miles then walked for cool down 7 min. All together almost 3 miles. I think to b exact it is 2.8, but my two miles was an 11 min pace.not to bad. Not,where I was before, but at least I did it, and my foot isnt to bad. That may mean,if I dont push it I may can get a jog in three times a week and lose weight. Im good with that pace for awhile till my foot heals completely. I dont know if u guys noticed but I jog only once a week but this week I,did two times. I think ill stick to this again next week and see how my foot does. Hoping ill jog some jiggle off. I been eating a ton of spinach to. Trying to eat extremely well. This is freaking hard! I had corn chips today tjough. I was thinking or justifying that if I count them,out then one serving is all. I did it one serving ...that is good but im feeling bad cause I cant lose eating even one serving! But I didnt think that until I ate it. Im rolling my eyes at myself. Humm. Lol.
Jane I have my spin bile in,bedroom were o watch tv I think that is a good idea to get in maybe 30 min light spin while I watch tv. DH will b snoring loud any way . Lol
 
Today enjoying a rest day. Will do some art and send out cards. Arm was soooooooo sore yesterday, yet today it's OK so far. Hmmm. Just when I think it's healing. Guess that's how it heals. Have to be patient.

ReneeP, Great job on warming up a fast walk for then jogging for two miles and walking for cooling down. Very proud of you for jogging twice this week. You go girl! You are soooo funny! When you use the spin bike in the bedroom, your hubby dosen't wake up? :D

Janie a tornado can come threw and I promise he wouldnt wake up. It takes DH 3 sec to fall asleep I could dance on the bed ..lol plus he snores so loud geez I cant hear anything when he snores so I can only imagine how loud it is up in his head.. He cant hear anything else but himself I think. Lol
I did a jog slower then yesterday but I went the whole 3 miles without walking. I planned on walking back but when I went 1 and a half mile I had to go to the bathroom! TMI but I could NOT just walk back, yet it was hard to jog ..you can Imagine why.
Sorry.. Janie hope u r enjoying ur rest day!

Wed: class (full body weights)
Thursday: rest day
Friday: I did a yoga class with the women I am doing my training with in Boulder, it supposed to be a 90 min class but it went for a full two hours!
Sat: STS Squat Rack Legs. And 35 min Cardio Coach on elliptical...speaking of did anyone find out how O'Mally died?

Ok confession time I haven't been doing so great with my plan of a little cardio everyday and/or watching my alcohol & food intake! Its little things to that I don't normally do like egg nog in my coffee or at night. Even with out the added alcohol eggnog is just off the charts for calorie density, chocolate everyday!!! Eeekkkk! :-} :-0

And I haven't been skiing which is my BIG calorie burner in the winter because we haven't had any snow and its even been to warm to make snow! But we did just get around 5-6 inches!! Its so nice and looks like Christmas now!


Jeanie: i read your thread in open discussion about your body building dream. Isn't it wonderful to have all that support? Its so great that Cathe made this website for us? You have clearly touched a lot of people here on the Cathe Nation. I hope your elbow is better soon.
 
Renee: my dh is the same way! He just gets into bed and starts snoring!!! Ugh!! Well guess there is nothing like an urgent all of nature to put a pep in your step! Lol glad that ur running again! I need to start back up too! I am feeling that jiggle to and not happy about it!!!
