Getting Our Licks In!

The storm was pretty bad and during it, the heater stopped working. The man that was suppose to fix the pipe, didn't. Very hectic few days, but I decided to get back to Joey in Shelton and prepare for Thanksgiving. Hopefully all this will get resolved after the holiday. Still working on my Dad's hands. It's taking so long. Maybe after Thanksgiving sometime it will be done.

Michelle, Great job on RS on Sat. and PH on Sun. Yea! You got DOM's, good for you. Glad you are catching up with work so you can enjoy the rest of the week. Have Fun!

Quick check in..... Only yoga today it was a scedualed rest day. Im hoping to fo fit n firm tomorrow not sure yet. Its supose to b old Cathe total body weight training but I havnt even viewed it yet so not sure what its like. Night.

ReneeP, Found out the pipe might be broken but could use the bathroom anyway, and no smelly stuff. Yea. Great job on yoga. Enjoy the Firm. They are good.

Take care,

Janie

Oh lets see I did a mile jog in thd cold last night to get oxygen to flow my head was hurting so bad! A mile was al I could do. I feel like my head is not getting oxygen or blod and pressure in ingredible. If I do yoga sometimes it helps exersice helps but some days pressure is so much none of it works if I try to exercise it makes the pressure more like eyes has pressure behind them and feels like someone squeezing me and blood going to the h.
Janie glad u got all that sewage stuff is fixed.
Happy thanksgiving guys!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Tomorrow I'm planning on doing a cardio and working on a rotation.

ReneeP, Great job on your mile jog in the cold. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! So sorry you had a headache. You should see a doctor about this, don't fool around with it. They most likely will give you an MRI. Didn't get any of the pipe fixed.:( Oh well, maybe after Thanksgiving.

Take care,

Janie

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Yesterday, on Thanksgiving, I did Drill Max cardio scramble premix. Made Thanksgiving dinner--so much work for one meal but is sure tastes good. Joe's son and wife came over for dinner. We had a nice day visiting and enjoyed watching the Redskins play the Cowboys last night. Poor Ripken was so tired. So much excitement over the past few days for my pup. The weather has been like springtime. We got most of the outdoor Christmas decorations up on Wednesday and finished them up today. Took a break from exercising today--back to it tomorrow.

Janie: sorry to hear that you had issues at your beach house. I hope you all can get things fixed up soon. But in the meantime, I hope you were able to enjoy a nice holiday with Joey. Did you have any other family come over?

ReneeP: I'm with Janie--you really need to find out what is troubling you with these headaches. They sound horrible. I hope your Thanksgiving also was a happy one.

Janie hope u get your beach house fixed! Wow that is not good. Hope u enjoyed thanksgiving.
Michelle, im so glad u enjoyed ur thanksgiving! Isnt it nice to spend time with family! I love that.
I got to see my step son and his wife and kids! I was glad thry made my home feel... Alive. Yhere kids were well behaved and so nice. The last time we saw them was 5 yrs, ago! The kids agreed to try and jog lol so I took the two oldest with me and we only went a mile. N they asked me to slow down. Had to walk most time because they never did it before. But I had fun! Now thats what I call family time.

Today was 30/20 from TTM premix. It was a great workout. So good to sweat again.

Michelle, Great job on the Thanksgiving workout of DM cardio scramble prem. Yep, that one meal also is a meal for an entire day! LOL I was scrumptious over here as well. It's so nice to be with family over the holiday. Joey and I went to one of our daughters who was hosting this year. Most of the family attended. They are such loving and kind people. Our poor Ripken, with so much excitement. It soon will be back to normal for him. Your rest day was very busy with all the Christmas decorations done for outside. I bet it's beautiful. Joey is at the Beach house now to finish up on the stuff that needs to be done. Heater, pipe and other things.

ReneeP
, Joey is now over at the Beach house doing what needs to be done.
How lovely to see some of your family during this time and making your home feel alive. :D Wow, young ones not being able to keep up. You have really grown in strength and stamina. Good for you. Nothing like family time.

Hi everyone! Yikes it looks like a whole week has slipped by without me checking in! Its that busy time of year ... I hadn't even been keeping up with putting my workouts in time manager and you would think I would be able to remember them but just sat down to enter them and was drawing complete blanks. And this week no personal workouts for me other than subbing two extra classes. I need to try and figure out something today. I am staying down at my mom's since Nutcracker are all weekend. Last night my mom and I went together and then i took my mom and girls out for dinner afterwards. It was a great production and the girls were perfect little cookies! I love the Nutcracker, my mom took me almost every holiday season growing up so it always makes me feel in the Holiday spirit? I have no idea when i will get a chance to decorate for Christmas, next week i have another 5 day yoga training into another Nutcracker weekend! My mom is also going out of town so I will be doubly busy since she can't help out.

Today I did a slow steady ride on the spinning bike. However, after 45 min. I was more sweaty than I thought I would be. Yea!
Here's the art piece I did of my Dad's Hands, hence the name.
This is called "Dad's Hands"
If you look closely you will see all the names of his children under his hands. I'm so proud of him. He has lived a struggled life in his younger years and managed to provide and care for all of us. What a joy to have him as a father.

Laura, Time gets away from me as well. Life sometimes does that to you.LOL:D Very proud of you to continue on your journey of health and fitness and also for teaching it. Good for you. Aw the wonders of The Nutcracker, so Christmassy and brings on such memories during the holidays when you were young. It's always nice to see and hear about that production. Maybe you can just put out a few decorations (including a tree) this year instead of a lot, and have the girls help you. It could be fun then afterwards admire what all have done to celebrate Christmas.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Janie first great job on the spin!
But I had to say I absolutly am amazed at your "dads hands" pic! That is so so touching! Really and truley I can feel his presence or essence in the photo. And the childrens name under the hands ..oh my.. Gee im tearing up looking at it. Gosh I must have hormones out of wak .. I cry at the drop of a hat. Or I laugh the next. Its like I never know how I feel from one moment to the next! Lol

ReneeP, That is exactly how I want this drawing to feel like. I'm also teary eyed about it because well, all nine of us are in it with him, by name. No hormones out of whack, it just hits home. I can see (like myself) you are a very sensitive woman. Have a good evening.

Hi yall. I started to panic today about getting ready for Christmas, so rearranged things with my mom so I could get home after I dropped the girls off at their first performance this morning. It was nice to have a quiet afternoon to put away all the Thanksgiving stuff and clear and clean the surfaces for Xmas decorations. I also cooked a healthy Paleo soup for dinner and I am making a chicken stock from the left over bones. I am about to get out all the Christmas boxes with my hubby here in a sec so we will be already to decorate together after the girls finish their show tomorrow. I also finally got a workout in as well, and it took me some motivation to do it I.
assure you. I did Kick Max which is my first Cardio in awhile and my first Cathe cardio in a long while. It totally kicked my butt, those drills are killer! I also did ab ripper x from P90X!

Janie i love your picture of your father's hands! So good, and hands are so tricky! Good job on your spin! Do you like your bike?

Hi to Renee and Michelle! I need to let you guys i am going to need some support over the holidays! If I keep eating like I have been and missing workouts it's going to be ugly!

Laura me to! I got the exercise no problem ..its that darned eating that gets me. And..its already getting ugly..butt gettn so big I knock it into the walls im misjudging how big it is lol.
We can help each other.
Great job on kickmax! That good!
I did cardio and weights today.

Well, the Thanksgiving holiday week is coming to an end. It was nice to have time off and now I am ready to go back to work and get lots done. This morning Ripken and I got up at 7 am, took our walk, and then I went to Mass. I try to go to Mass this time of year, in particular. It helps me to slow down and focus on what Christmas is about. Then after coming home and making breakfast, I worked on putting our artificial tree together--not decorated--just together. Then I did Supersets. It has been a long time since I did Supersets--pulling out the older Cathe workouts and getting reacquainted with them. Supersets was super fun. Tomorrow, I'm going to do a more new Cathe: cardio supersets.

Laura: The Nutcracker is one of my all time favorite ballets. It is so great that you continue this tradition with your daughters. Thank goodness you have Bo to help you out with the decorating. Try to make time for those workouts. We all tend to overdue in the eating department; exercise helps us to keep those extra calories in check.

Janie: I love the picture of your father's hands. Are you going to frame it and give it to your dad? I bet he would really be touched to have it.

ReneeP: I hope you can be an inspiration to your step-grandchildren to exercise. Good healthy habits is one of the greatest gifts you can give. I hope you encourage them to continue to run--or do something to be active and increase their cardio endurance. And good for you--having to slow down so the kids could keep up. You are so hard on yourself about your endurance and strength gains, but obviously you are doing something right.

Wishing everyone a wonderful, exercise-filled week.

HC yesterday and crossfire. I only did getting stronger HC 20 min. Man really hard on arms.
Well this morning at work I did body fusions upper body add on with yoga relax. Supose to be a rest day. But I wanted to stretch and add some light toning just to move.
My step son and family leave today. I am at work and had to say bye this morning. I hate saying by. He is such a sweet kid. Well not kid any more 29 lol. But he has always been a pleasure for me. Love his wife now to. When they first got together wasnt sure. But she sure has become a wonderful wife and a great mom. Ill miss them.

I am trying to make sure that at least I fit in a little cardio as much as possible through the Holidays so I just did the Plyo Tabatta premix from Crossfire & it didn't quite seem Like enough so I did the Low impact Tabatta premix, which went by very fast too. I didn't even really break a sweat but at least my heart rate did go up. I have my usual Pilates & Ski Conditioning tonight. I subbed yoga this morning but I did not really do it with the class and I've been Christmas decorating this afternoon We won't get the tree until later but I should have everything else done by the end of tomorrow. Then its just making Christmas cookies, getting presents, making wreaths and the tree!

Michelle well getting the tree up is the hard part, decorating it is the fun part! Glad you got to go to Mass and feel the spirit of Christmas. I like Supersets too...

Renee: oh dear! We will have to watch our diets! I am giving up alcohol and most carbs until the 21st which always helps me lose the puff!!! I am starting NOW!!! Then i will relax a little for Christmas week and then reign it back in after that!
