Getting Our Licks In!

Hi everyone. Happy Election Day!

So i am super bummed cause I seem to have tweaked, possibly pulled my right hamstring! :-( ugh! I haven't had an injury in so long and I don't like it one bit! And I was ready to get back into my regular exercise routine after 5 days of yoga! Boo!

So I taught my classes today and yesterday but only demonstrating here or there, its a different way of teaching and so its challenging. It's good to get out of your comfort zone every once and awhile but don't want to do it cause I am in pain.

Oh well i guess I will focus on finishing up Meso Cycle 3 Upper body... No cardio or legs for awhile though....need to heal up for ski season!
 
Rest day today. Will hit it hard tomorrow starting with cardio.

Michelle, Great job on the walk to the voting polls. Oooo frost already. Berrrrrrrrr! Glad Ripken is doing much better, antibiotics is such a life savor. How cute that he put his head on Joe's knee. How sweet is that? Great job on disc 36. Wow, How long have we been together. I truly don't know, but a guess would be at least a couple of years maybe? I love the thought of reading to Ripken. I may do it to Rolly.:)

Laura, Oh NO! So so sorry about maybe pulling your hamstring. Do be careful with that, ice, rest, you know the drill of healing. Yuck, I know what you are feeling.:( Great job demonstrating/teaching your class.

ReneeP, Your little Duke sounds like a very sweet pup. I'd love to see a photo of him.

Hi took a rest day taught upper body yesterday in my class.

Did 30 min. on the spin bike with a few breaks. Sure not use to it, but I'll get there.

Jamie good job on bike. I rode on mine last night slow for 16 minutes just to do something while earching tv other then sit. Hoping to be like figiting. Lol
I did cathes old bottoms up dvd for butt and legs. I think its a litgle boring but it uses light weight and I think I need that for lower body. I am weak in that area. I can lift heavey for upper body but I get good doms when I do light with legs. Weird I know but all I can thjnk of is maybe I need to build up smaller muscles then work my way up. Idk really. Im wondering if im ever gonna see good heathy progression in my energy or stregnth. Yesterday I did low impact step.
laura im sorry about ur hamstring! How is it now!?
 
Starting Sun. will do a cardio. Sat. I'm just going to do artwork. LOL Hope I get something done.

ReneeP, Good job on riding your bike while watching TV. That's a good idea. Also great job on Cathes old bottoms up DVD for butts and legs. It seems to me you are getting there with energy and strength. Also good job on LI step. Wow, you did a lot. If that's not energy, then what is? Great job on jogging 3 miles and doing sit ups. Rest up, you deserve it.

Wow, have I really not checked in since election day last week? Guess I got busy. So sister and I are done with STS and now we are enjoying our week of active recovery. Friday I did Basis Step and stability ball abs--nice and easy. Saturday, we got up early and went over to the boat to pack it up for the season. No exercise, other than packing up the boat. Yesterday, I did the cardio and weights step timesaver premix. Ripken and I did a long walk this morning and now he is a tired pup. I'm thinking I might do the Wedding Video step workout later on. Ripken is curled up by my feet getting a nap. I expect after our long walk this morning that he will nap well today.

Janie: Love the picture of Joey. You are so talented. I don't know how you do all the things that you do. Just amazing.

I'll try to get back later after exercising.

Michelle congrats on sts complition!
I wish Cathe would do another basic step dvd...a.d the other one low impact step I thjnk they r perfect for days u feel u are dragging or just want nice easy. Lol
I did low impact step yesterday actualy.
Im hoping to get something in tooday but I have appointment with a sports massage theropy at 5 so I may not b able to do any thing today. Humm. Hope to get my back and foot worked on.

ReneeP, Great job on LIS yesterday. If you can enjoy your massage therapy, then I hope you did.

Michelle, Congrats for getting to your week of active recovery. Great job on Frid; Basic Step and Stability Ball abs. Sat's packing it up for the season. Also for doing C&W and a long walk with Ripken. Thank you for the compliment.:)

Quick question..did u guys receive newsletter yesterday? I read some said they did and it has in it update on workouts but I didnt get one for some reason so I went to the blog and didnt see any new information there so I tried the update on xtrain,blog it was the same thing since the 8 about tabata on it an premixes. Then went to fb, same thing. Am I missing some thing here. Just checking.
 
I'm trying to get my exercise Mojo back, not happening yet. I'm trying.:(:eek:

Wow me to Janie, Stress at home and feel heartbroken I think for me. I just keep trying nothing appeals to me. I feel like I try to put in effert but..not happening. I did cross train upper body back then chest came in at 23 minutes. I think tomorrow gonna finish that and do a cardio we will see.
 
Sorry I have been MIA again... :-( just a lot going on with Nutcracker Rehearsals & my mom out of town.....

I did get two Pilates workouts in on Friday & Sunday (still nursing my hamstring) I took Thursday & Saturday off...

Monday did Pilates class & did Meso Cycle 3 week 3 Shoulders, Biceps, & Triceps

Today taught fusion class, which I have to say is my biggest class now, although I did have 1 older lady leave 1/2 way through, oh well its a tough class and not for everyone, others love it!

I need to go back and read checkins, I wanted to check in first, cause I was afraid I might not get @ to it...

Michelle: packed up the boat again! That does seem like a workout! Good job on finishing STS again! Goodness cant believe I'm still slogging through ...

Renee: i hope the massage helped! I got my hamstring worked on again today, it does seem to help me
 
Laura u r doing good dispite the hamstring! Wonderful.. The massage was nice. I actualy felt pretty good but hurt ti but loved it..hurt so good lol.
 
Quick check-in. Did the Wedding Video cardio workout on Monday--it seems so basic but by the end it really kicks in on you. The videos from Cathe's wedding always make me laugh a little. It makes the video kitcshy in a good way. Yesterday was IMAX3 intervals only premix and this morning was Yoga Relax. So--here's a "it's a small world" story: did you hear about the elder care facility in CA where one of the caretakers picked wild mushrooms and made soup and the mushrooms were poisonous. Two of the six people who at the soup have passed away and the rest are expecte to die as well. Well, one of the elderly women who passed away was an aunt of one of my colleagues/friends here at work. She said the whole thing is so bizarre and unfortunate and the family is being hounded by the press and lawyers. They just feel it is a bad accident, want to grieve their deceased family member, and be left alone.

Janie and Renee: Okay you two, it looks like we might need to do some butt kicking here to get you guys back "in the zone" and exercising. You will FEEL BETTER. I know you both have some very unhappy family things going on but you can't stop taking care of yourself. You deserve to be fit and starting to feel happier: exercise will help. So, pick out your favorite Cathe and get to it!
