Getting Our Licks In!

Michelle thank you.. now to find my favorite cathe dvd. have so many now it's hard to choose that's what causes me to procrastinate. I I may do cross train express for about a week. that way it's only 30 minutes cardio maybe 20 min weight lifting.
 
Walked with Rolly on the beach for 45 min. It was so beautiful! First time since I got here a few days ago that it was bright and sunny.

Making a huge batch of soap today. This recipe is especially good because I had made samples from it in hopes that it will cure my skin tags. It Does! I'm so excited about it not only because of that but because I have a chance (in hopes) to keep My Joeys skin cancer at bay. Did some research on what is good for cancerous/tumorous (skin tags are tumors) and found a lot of information. Not proven of course, but to me that doesn't matter. If it doesn't help Joey it does help me. And of course it is great soap. A win win situation.

I'm making Joey use it now for about a month. As his appt. is approaching to see the dermatologist, I'm curious to what the doctor will find or NOT. He's been fighting skin cancer for years now. It's the kind that if you have to have cancer this one is more manageable by putting some kind of strong lotion on it or cutting it out entirely. He's been cut on so much and goes in to cut his cancer out at least twice a year. My poor man.:(

Laura, I know what's it's like being busy. Don't worry about being MIA so much. As long as you do what you are doing and check in so we know you are OK. ;) Great job on Pilates on Fri. and Sun. So sorry about the hamstring, not fun. Also great job on Mon. Pilates class and Meso 3 wk 3 shoulders, biceps and triceps. Good going on teaching the successful fusion class. I hope my mojo comes back too. My diet. Well, I haven't gained any more than the 8 pounds since I got home from Vegas. I have to get rid of it for sure. This walk today might help. I'm eating now what I'm suppose to be, so it's a matter of time. Taking along time to get over Vegas. It's my only excuse.

Michelle, Great job on the Wedding Video on Mon. Yep it does kick in once done. Also on Yoga Relax. OMG! When forging for wild mushrooms people really have to know what they are doing. So so sad, and preventable. My heart goes out to the families. YOU KICKING MY BUTT into shape! Thanks for the pep talk. I think you did it. I forgot my Cathe DVD's but found the Wedding Video here. So between the beach walking and the video, I think I'll be fine, for now. At least until I get back to Shelton. Will leave here Sun. or Mon. Thanks for caring, means a lot to me.:rolleyes:

Janie! Im sorry about the skin cancer! Let me know how to make ill tell my sis..she has neurofibromatosis.. Its tumors on skin brown and raised also on spine. kind of like the Elephant Man's .. but not exactly but it looks like it. if they can help her man wouldn't it be nice she's been plaqued with this for a long time.

I did it do Cathe's cross train Express. 10 10 10 and triceps. God I just felt so fat trying to jump and stuff embarrassing.

I'm so happy that you guys are here really it really helps my heart in my soul.
 
Reneep, The kind of skin cancer Joey has is basal cell cancer. This soap (if it works) will only address this type of cancer. In case though, I could send her a bar but please I'm not a doctor and to make sure she gets the OK from her doctor before she uses it. It's made from eggplant, olive oil and apple cider vinegar, and of course lye. Since there is a reaction of lye and oil, it is no longer oil and no longer lye. It's a process called Saponification and without that happening it is not soap. Let me know when she gets the OK from her doctor and I will send her a sample bar. All she has to do is use it in place of her body bar soap. It's OK to use it all over the body in the tub or shower.

Also have her check on line about eggplant and apple cider. She may want to purchase a medicine made from that. But like I said from what I've read, it only works on basal cell.

I must be getting used to the cooler weather because it did not seem as cold this moring when Ripken and I walked. I did step blast premix combos 1,2, and 3 (no blast) this morning. Boy, that is such a fun workout. Some of Cathe's best step choreography IMHO. So, I have a Ripken story--what else is new. I love to give my pup a great big hug and just bury my face in his fur and breathe deep. I just love the smell of my pup. So, last night, Ripken comes upstairs to go nightie and I always get down on the floor with him and give him some love. Well, he walks up to me and buries his head in the crook of my neck, breathes in deep, and then sighs. It struck me that maybe he loves and finds comfort in the smell of me as much as I do him. It had never occurred to me that this might be so. It was so touching.

Janie: did you gain 8 pounds in Vegas or since Vegas? Did events with Dan influence your diet? In the big scheme of things 8 pounds is not that much and I hope that you are able to get back on track with what you were doing before.

ReneeP: you shouldn't be embarassed when you exercise. I know that you are struggling with your weight but you shouldn't be embarassed when you are doing something positive and good for you.

Michelle, Great job with walking this morning with Ripken. And ST prem combos 1,2 & 3, no blast. Oh awe, that is sooooooo cool what Ripken did.:) I truly believe that animals have deep feelings and emotions, pain and the pleasure of loving a human. I gained weight after Vegas, yes the stress with Dan didn't help any. I think I'm getting there, now for my arm. I will be getting an appt. to see a sports med doctor soon.

Good morning. Beautiful fall day here in the mid-Atlantic. This is my work at home day. Traffic will be awful later today and then next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, it will also be a nightmare. But I am at Quantico on Tuesday and then off the rest of the week, so I am happy about that. Technically yesterday was my rest day, but I exercised. Might take a day off today. Trying to figure out what to do now that sister and I are done with STS. I'll have to look at some of Cathe's rotations and see if anything catches my attention. My sweet pup is laying right behind my chair. I love being home with him. My sweet husband has got an awful cold. I'm hoping he will stay in bed most of the day and sleep. We were supposed to go to a formal party tomorrow night but that is looking quite doubtful. I'll have to contact the gala coordinator and let her know that we most likely will not be attending now. :( Oh well, much more important to get my husband feeling better. Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

FYI: Just found out a bit of info on abs. Doing ab work in the beginning of your weight work exercises, is not a good idea because you might strain something or injure yourself. Reason being is while you do the other exercises (which uses core all the time) once you continue into the program your abs are fatigued and now in danger of not being able to complete the exercises because of the already fatigued core. You should always end with a good ab work. Found this info while searching the internet. Cathe sure does know her business. Had to do my part and make myself useful.

Michelle, Sounds like you will have a convenient/lovely week of work. Oh yes, what to do after STS. That's always a good question. Let us know what you and sis has come up with. Yep, hubby is more important even missing out on a formal party.

I am letting the girls play hookie today, its a 1/2 day & a Friday so they won't miss to much! Next week is going to be super crazy with Thanksgiving & The Nutcracker and they need a day to relax a little. Yesterday was my rest day still no cardio for me but I a. Panning on some Pilates and or barre today!
 
Janie: Michelle is right 8 Lbs isn't to bad, however holiday season is upon us! We all better be careful!!! Its so easy for those pounds to sneak up on us!!! And i gain weight so easily and cant ever seem to loose it!! Maybe we need a holiday weight maintenance challenge?? Keep us accountable?
 
Michelle: did you order the new series? That will give you something to do, in the meantime how about revisiting some of Cathes older series like Gymstyles. Sorry your DH s sick and you have to miss your party! I love parties! I am sure Ripkin loves your smell! And dogs smell in3-D compared to us'm so cute
 
Renee: i have the Cross Train workouts but i haven't done a lot of it! I actually don't think i ever did 10-10-10. Ive done the step and KB and Upper body premix, and floor(not a fan of just floor cardio). I do like the ab work on this series!
 
Janie im sorry about the gain.. Geez I know how u feel. But if we let that go and get back on track or else like they said hollidays are coming. Eeeek... I think u will fight to keep it off though. Remember stay focused... U got to help me to. Lol joking. I am talking to myself when im preachi.g to u ..u do know that? Trying to help us both. Lol remember we do care for u!

Michelle awh.. Smell is a powerful thing. Since I quit smoking my since of smell is strong. Humm that can b good or it can b a bad thing lol. Right now it isnt to great for duke because I cant hug him at the moment. The poor thing smells like, cheese..dirty butt if I must say. Lol he will not let us give him a bath he is 100 pounds I cant do it alone DH tried but he cant hold him me n DS 2 tried during summer we did better. But DS held him whjle I washed he screemed DH felt sorry for him told us ok now thats enough ur hurting him. Well right after he rolls in something and it smells like that stinky cheese. Eeeuuww ..so I cant smell him,and enjoy it lmbo. Now my little dog mabel..the ugly one. ..i smell her all time. Her paws I loved her puppy breathe when I first brought her home but hum not so much now. Lol
Laura u r right about hollidays. And that is a good idea about accountability. I think that is awesome u kept girls home. I did that for the boys a couple times when they were younger as a treat I come by school pick them up and take them to the movies! Good memories.
Ok to report my wo..today I did step blast 41 min premix then I poped in rock bottoms by cathe as add on. That one isnt hard but what im used,to. And I do get sore from it. More then the hard ones like gym sytles. I think it because of form purhaps.? Since im not well balanced. I think im gonna stick with lite weights for lower body til I get stronger. I may have jumped into, Cathe so excited and push push push I may have done to much to,fast. I mean really I just started with her right when low impact series came out. I just love her style and music like to the max. Well im deciding to take a step back, maybe do older videos or low impact, and lighten my weights on lower body and see how that goes. Also I am going to continue heavey for arms and one arm rows for back but I do have degeneration in lower back so no more bent over rows or dead lifts. Or squats they hurt the back . So got to find alternatives to those. Maybe intead of dead lifts I will use, ankle weights and lift leg for hamsring curls. Not do bent over but use one handed bent over for support. Squats im not sure what to do as substitute for them yet. Im thinking maybe just do them with lite to no weight since I am still alittle heavy that may be enough weight for now. Im not meaning to ramble really!
Hey guys did u see the thread the lady is gonna send me mega step blast? It is an oldie of Cathes plus I ordered fit n firm by Cathe from amazon for 6 dollars¡ I heard that is total body with light or med weights may b perfect for.me. Im also trying to write my food down.

Hi ladies today was crosstrain express kickbox and biceps. Nice little sweet. Not to hard but perfect on my foot no pain at all on that one . But I didnt sweet enough in my opinion. Its good for light days.
Well hope all is fine.
 
I'm still at the ocean and was wanting to go home before the storm arrives today somewhere around 2pm. Still working on the last things to be done with the Dish. While the Dish technician was burying the cable from the dish to the house, he accidentally damaged the sewer pipe that goes into the septic tank. Yep, lots of fun. Manager will be here about 2pm to access the damage. So I'm here for the duration of the storm. I talked to Joey and he says it won't be as bad as I thought. Winds and rain will pick up about 2pm gusting about 30-40 mp. They will fix it and will know more around 2 on how bad the damage is. Oh well, I'll get back on Dads hands art piece. Also there is plenty to watch on TV and use the computer. It's so different not being around people, kinda lonely. Hopefully by Thur. (Thanksgiving day) I'll be with family.

I'll get to do the Wedding Video, the only one here since I forgot to bring any Cathe's DVD's. Wasn't going to stay this long. O well.:(

janie oh my! That isnt goid at all! I hope it isnt coming out of ground (smell) or whatever else! Sorry u r lonley! Im kinda used to not having alot of people around. But I know it can b difficult at times.
Today I did cardio supersets express only 30 minutes then I did body fusions add on the lower body with tubing and light weights. Not to bad I felt it burn in rigjt place, butt and legs not back! So im thinking im a beginner still for lower body. Lol I must have been overrzealous thinking im intermediate and kept pusging through when I should have began with beginner for lower body. Instead I get injured and no progress . Now im stepping back and doing all light weight for lower body. I axtually had more energy after workout yesterday n today. Thats a better sign. Not alot of energy but im not needing a nap! Lol
 
I apologize for being MIA for a few days. Friday was my rest day, Saturday was Rhythmic Step, Sunday was Powerhour. Today, I have majorly feeling the afterglow from Powerhour. I told sister it was more like PowerHour and 15 minutes. Those weight endurance workouts sure get me good. Might do that one again this week. This morning was an early morning for me. Into work early for a meeting at the Pentagon this morning. Then I will hunker down in my office this afternoon and try to catch up on my work. This is the only day this week that I am coming into the office. Tomorrow I will spend half a day at Quantico and the rest of the day on leave, then "off" the rest of the week.

Janie: hope the storm was not too bad. The nice thing about the wedding video is that you have cardio and weight work. You can get both types of workouts in.

Laura: Hope the day off with the twins was relaxing, although I am not sure you can ever really relax when you have twins. Yes, I ordered Cathe's new workout series. You guys should know by now I cannot pass up a presale deal on new workouts. Looking forward to that but I think I can stay busy until the new workouts arrive. Plus XTrain is a 3 month workout program, just finishing STS, I need a break from something that is such a long commitment. It's more the mental than physical aspect that looms large for me at this moment.

Renee: Oh dear, a stinky dog is not the most pleasant experience. It is unfortunate that he does not like getting a bath. Ripken loves getting a bath--to him, it is all about the attention. Plus I think that he likes the nice, warm soapy water experience, then the blow drying, and the clipping and the combing. From his perspective, getting groomed is all about him. Mind you--I do not bathe Ripken. We take him to the groomer.

Quick check in..... Only yoga today it was a scedualed rest day. Im hoping to fo fit n firm tomorrow not sure yet. Its supose to b old Cathe total body weight training but I havnt even viewed it yet so not sure what its like. Night.
