Getting Our Licks In!

Tonight was disc 35 shoulders, biceps and triceps. Also the very last disc in my 8 month rotation from Cathe. I'm thrilled with the results. Just amazing to me. I'm a size 6 for Pete Sake! I can remember that size while I was a teenager. WOW! Now I'll do cardio for the rest of the week or so. When we get to Vegas I'll go to the gym. I will most likely do a full body workout before we leave, maybe two of them just to keep the body confused.

Laura, Great job on yesterday's walking Misty and today's subbing yoga. Hope your teacher gets better too. Vertigo is horrible!

Jane so the rotation you did helped you losse weight.. not just gain muscle? Gosh.. I'm trying to figure which rotation I should try. I was thinking of ggoing to intermediate rotation awhile tjen pickiing up on lis rotation but i then keep hearing better and better results from urs. Only tbing is I don't have all of the omes on that rotation .. not all of hardcore or shock cardio and no sts at all. However ii was looking at Amazon they have sts meso 1 for 50 dollars so I was thinking of that one. But I wanted to get crosstrain. Thinking that I am waiting for xtrain and maybe I can use it in place of sts... I'm not sure.
Had a relaxing time at beach. So nice! Miss it already! Lol.

I have not Exercise today yet. I don't know where to start lol. At the beach I walked, the. Beach.. then I went on elliptical a while. Got to clean up house first then workout. Maybe iill close. My eyes 'and point! Oh by the way my bd iis today! Can't believe I'm. 43 already! Goes by fast!
 
Oh boy--I've been MIA for a few days. Not sure what happened to me. Just forgot to check in. Finished up recovery week and started STS mesocycle 2 a day early on Friday. Yesterday we had a pig roast to go to at my aunt and uncle's to celebrate my cousin getting married a little over a year ago. It was nice--poured rain, but it was still nice. I started STS a day early because the plan was to go to the boat today for a couple of days. By starting a day early, I'd be able to get in disc 14 today. Well, we are not going to the boat because Ripken has a fatty tumor on his left shoulder that has popped open and is draining, so my boy has to go to the vet tomorrow. Been washing the wound off and on during the day. He doesn't seem to be in discomfort and his eating is good, so I'm trying not to get all emotional about this.

ReneeP: happy birthday a day late! What a coincidence, your birthday and my sister Renee's birthday are on the same day. 43 sounds like a good age to me. Make the most of it!

Janie: congratulations on finishing the rotation that Cathe set up for you. You have done exceptionally well following it. Did you send her a post to let her know your results?

Laura: wow--time for Nutcracker rehearsals to start already? Doesn't seem like it has been a year since last season's rehearsals.

I did low max today and i did the firm yesterday.. I heard someone talking about it so i thought id try it again. They seemed easy to do, and it wasnt hard on my joints so i may add it to my workout two times a week as a weight training thing. If my joints dotn hurt doing it and im burning some calories.. not much i have to add, i did one hour only burn 340 i think.. better then nothing however.. I did low max today and burned 450. I love that one but i had to loser the step because of my foot.. oh well i have to make adjustments where and when ever so i can keep going. I wish it would get better.. i hardly did nay exericse while i was away this past week but still not healed.. i was hoping a ccouple days would help. Oh the Firm is so hard to get into they seem so maniquin like! lol the way the talk is all the same tone the way they look in the face is all the same its like you have to have no expression and look so serious and no smiling on your face and have a monitone voice to be a firm instructor lol .. Have any of you tried them? I may play my own music for it.

Rolly and I walked and sprinted (7 sessions)on the beach of a total of 2.5 hours. Blew it by eating 3 candy bars when I got home. My will power went buzrerK Grrrrrrrr. Why? I certainly don't know. It will take me a whole week or longer to get back where I want to be now. Jeesh! I will start immediately. I'm doing two zentangles at the same time. I'll show you soon. Hopefully before I get back to the forest.

Michelle, Nice job starting STS meso 2. OOOOOO a pig roast sounds like a lot of fun, love those family celebrations. Oh no, poor Ripken. So glad he's not bothered by it. I know you are. (hugs) I did send Cathe a pair of my paper earrings and also a post. She didn't comply but that's OK, I did what I needed to do to thank her for my continued healthy body. LOL

, Great job on LM and The Firm. I still love the firm, but it's just nothing like Cathe. There are several really good ones out there for me. We all make adjustments from time to time. For me more than I'd like, but hey, it works.

Hi! Busy weekend which meant no exercise or check-in! Jeez i got to figure out my weekend work outs!

Today no one showed for early yoga! grrrrr and it was so hard to get up....i woke up at 4 last night and kinda tossed and turned to 5:30 i had just fallen asleep when the alarm went off!!! Than I had clients in town and taught Pilates and the 1st class of ski conditioning!

Janie: you mighty have Not eaten enough calories to fuel your body for those sprints and it caused you to have a little back lash...dont beat yourself up...we all slip ul! Just move forward!

Renee: hope you had a nice Bday! Ive never done The Firm I can hardly find time to do all the Cathe DVD s that i have that I figure I don't need any more dvds...Cathe puts out new DVDs every year it seems like so i just get her new ones....I am sorry the rest didn't help your body recoup...

Michelle: hows it going in your neck of the woods? Any word on your sweet pup? Did he get to the vet? I am glad it didn't seem to be bothering him
 
Yesterday was HIIT 30/30. Today was an early day at Quantico so no exercise. Back to STS tomorrow. So we took Ripken to the vet yesterday afternoon. He has an infected sebacious cyst on his left shoulder. The vet's assistant shaved the area and cleaned it up and our vet (who is really wonderful) prescribed an antibiotic medicine that I give Rippy in the morning and the evening. So surgery, no bandage, just the medicine and occasionally cleaning the area with a soft warm/soapy cloth. I was more distressed by the fact that Ripken has put on a little weight over the summer. That's the result of not walking as much due to the heat. But the extreme heat seems to have passed and we are starting to lengthen our walks which makes Ripken very happy. Also the vet said that the tumor isn't really any bigger which is good news too. So, all is well on the home front.

Laura: hate when I wake up and can't get back to sleep until right before the alarm goes off. Hopefully, you will have a good night's sleep tonight. And sometimes it seems to me that your weekends ARE the workout. I know all that activity is not the same as exercising, but geesch! You don't seem to stand still.

Janie: 3 little candy bars or 3 big candy bars? I have to ask. Either way--who cares? It's not like you are eating 3 candy bars everyday. And you are not going to magically gain back all the weight you've lost just from eating 3 candy bars in one day. As long as you don't go completely off the wagon--not that would be another story...

ReneeP: I always do LowMax with one riser. I've never even tried it with 2 although sometimes I think about it and then I opt for one riser. Important part is that you are exercising, whether with no rise, one riser, or two. I think it is more important to be consistent and make sure you challenge yourself during exercise without risking injury than not.

Today Rolly and I walked the beach for an hour and half. It was such a beautiful day. I normally don't have peanut butter but today I had about a tablespoon full. Not bad. The scales haven't budged though. I gained 1.5 pounds. But still can't make it to 125. Oh well. Guess this is me from now on, 126-128 I'll take it!:D Will hit the gym in Vegas next week.

Laura, Sorry there was a no show. Must be very disappointing especially when you have to get up so darned early. But your Pilates and ski conditioning classes went through. I'm glad.

Michelle, Great job on yesterday's HiiT 30/30. I'm glad Ripken's cyst is not getting worse. Poor puppy.:( You are doing such a great job with him.

Michelle it sounds like u r still doing great on ur workouts! That is great news about ripken I mean maybe that is prayer being answered" if tumor isn't bigger! Wow.
Janie you are doing great! You r so close to your goal! It is wonderful and I'm sure your body thanks you everyday how you have made it stronger and sleek ... u look great.

We'll no workout yesterday my sister that I actually get along with from Florida came in we stayed up til 2AM. UGG headache today. I don't work on wed thank God. I go tomorrow. I did do the firm again on Monday. I tjink it will be a good one to do on weight days til my legs get stronger I think. I just simply hate hoover squats that is after a lot of reg squats. I feel unsuccessful all the time but with firm I can do all lunges squats hoover squats.. I feel successful.. but it is easier but the one on Monday was a little more challenging. So that is what ill do for a while Cathe cardio and firm for weight days. I just have to not look at there face and try not to pay attention to there voice..AND I have to keep saying ..ok may be boring but just give it a few weeks. Lol ... not sure what ill do today. Step. Moves or ttm or seriously leaning to css.

Back to report my work out was a jog walk kind of thing and yoga for a healthy back. Also to say I measured and I have lost some inches not much but I'm proud its something I been at it for a year and I know that's aloong tine but hey I think if I go slow at it it will stay off this time. So I'm happy
 
I don't think I got around to checking in yesterday! I did Pilates, then STS Meso Cycle 3 Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. My weight gloves from Cathe broke awhile a go and so i couldn't hit my target weights right on, and its amazing the difference 2-5 lbs makes on a lift.i could not quite make the jump up to the next weight increment so I kinda felt like I wasn't working hard enough on some of the exercises. I had errands and then I began to tackle the kitchen it took me two hours just to clean the appliances and the counters!last night i taught a new class which is a barre yoga pilates fusion class...my favorite things!

This morning yoga and thankfully people were there!!! B:) then I came home ate a big chili and fried egg breakfast and then I totally crashed out until 1pm!, Got up and had another big bowl of chili! I am still tired but began to tackle the girls closet...and even though I completely clean it out twice a year it is such a mess! I am about half way through and using this check in as a distraction! I have to go teach Total Tone now.

My ipad is about to die so I am going To post this and might be back later'for,personals!!
 
Rolly and I went to do our Sprints and I pulled that same quad muscle, even when I thought I stretched it enough . I kept stretching it all day in hopes it will not be so tight tomorrow. I guess I need to spend more time on strengthening this muscle before sprinting. So that's what I'll be working on, once the soreness is gone. Shoot, live and learn.

ReneeP, Great job on jogging/walking and yoga. Congratulations on losing inches. I think that is more important than losing weight. You should be very proud of yourself. I am.

Laura, Great job on yesterday's Pilates, STS Meso 3 shoulders, biceps and triceps. Yep 2/3 pounds makes a world of difference especially when gaining muscle. Hope you can get another pair of those gloves. Oh boy, housework is work isn't it? Glad you got it done though. Great job on teaching barre yoga pilates fusion. Wow, that's a mouth full. Wish I could be there as always. Also great job for today's yoga and more cleaning. Must be Fall cleaning. Have a good time teaching TT.

I subbed yoga today... I got a lot of nice feedback after the class which is always nice... :) I got another facial this afternoon.. My fourth of a series of six ...once a month...so no exercise for 48 hours... I am doing a Pilates reformer class in the am with my Master Teacher! Hope thats ok...

Janie I am sorry to hear about your quad... :-(. Thats not fun! I hate injuries!!! Rest up and take care
 
Today my Joey called at the beach house (he was in Shelton) and told me I had a doctors appt. today at 1:15. Got packed up straightened up the house and left my beloved beach house until late Nov. or early Dec. I'm going to miss it so much! Just now am able to sit down and relax a little bit before watching tv. My quad feels better, I think the stretching (every time I thought about it) did the trick or I just nudged it a little to much. I still think I'll need to strengthen that muscle before doing sprints. Will be leaving for Vegas very very early on Sat. and will be there on Monday. I'll post again then or on Tues. Hoping I can use the gym, but in case not I'll bring Cathe and HR for sure and others that don't involve to heavy of weights. My son only has weight up to 30-35 pounds. Oh Oh, I went second handing and found a pair of jeans somewhat like Cathe's. Her latest photo and for sure on her FB. They are red and black and other dull colors mixed in with it. She was wearing a black top. WooHoo. Can't believe I found something that Cathe would wear. Great incentive. When I wear them I will think how hard I worked to get this far. I tried them on (size 7) and they fit perfectly, and maybe just a little tiny bit lose.

ReneeP, You are doing so well on your workouts. Keep up the good work.

Laura, Great job on great job subbing yoga today. I love good feedback too. It feels so good.

Will be packing all day tomorrow and getting things ready to leave on Sat. I should still be able to check in tomorrow.

Gawd I over ate today. And I meant to exercise to fix it but got home late and put out some things at home with family... and I didn't sit down til 10 well I didn't stop dealing with life til 10.. I sat to much today. I guess its a double workout tomorrow
 
Janie I hate u had to leave beach House but glad to hear u r doing better I'm the quads! And yes I remember the pants you're talking about! Im sure you look so cute! Ne. Safe!

Laura I'm glad u had good feedback on your class! That is always nice to hear! People now days seems they don't give props like they should. I mean when u work hard and do a good jobb I think someoneshould tell you. I'm soo glad they did!

Been a busy week. Yesterday was the cardio timesaver premix from Body Max2 and today I started the second week of STS meso2. Oh--but the good news: Ripken and I did his long walk this morning. We didn't go fast but he did the full 2 miles without a break which I think was pretty good for my sweet ol' pup. He really wants to walk more that the weather is not so hot and humid and I am more than happy to oblige him. The exercise is good for both of us.

Janie: sorry to hear that you've got a hurting quad. Wow, you are going to be gone from the beach house for a long time. How long are you staying in Las Vegas visiting your son. It is looking like I will be headed out west to Barstow, CA the second week of October. We fly into Vegas and then drive from there to Barstow.

Laura: somebody must have made a big pot of homemade chili. Gosh, I love homemade chili. That's a bummer that your Cathe weight gloves gave up the ghost. Do you think you'll invest in another pair? Have you ever considered getting a set of paceweights?

ReneeP: congratulations on losing a little on the inches. That has got to be a great motivator, yes?
