Oh and I forgot to mention... The most amazing, purple mountain majesty sunset on the way home from work tonight! Have I mentioned that I love where I live? Aspen leaves are just starting to turn and there is a chill in the morning air....
 
Sorry about being MIA. It's been a rough few days, with all the cukes, sauerkraut, and just in the nix of time before the water pump had problems. OMG I'm so glad to be back at the Beach House. I've kept up with Cathe's workouts, did a couple more garden cardios and and today an hour of speed walking at the beach. So beautiful and pleasant.

Michelle, Great job on disc 12, congratulations. Also on the walk with Ripken. Yes, indulge that beautiful pup.

ReneeP, Great job on KM today. Wow! Love your calorie burn. Good going. My dad is a lot like yours. Same thing is about his hearing and less education than other people. How humiliating the hospitals can be. I say "How dare them". They should insist on dignity.

Laura, Great job on your yoga, yep the weather is changing here as well. Colder evenings. So nice it must be to have your classes pick up again. Great job on step with LIC. It was good a nd weight lifting class.

Laura I think that is one of the gifts from God is a wonderful sunset.. love that you appreciate the beauty in the skys. U r doing great on your workouts. Is there any dvds u recommend on yoga? I do Cathe and I do a couple more but can't remember there name!

Jane that calorie burn was from too workouts .. I had a day off and no kids home so I felt good doing a little more. I know the canning and gardening is hard work. I tjink u rock if ur doing that and Cathe and walking on the beach.

Michelle hope u and ripken are doing well and how is the grandbabies?

I had gym styles shoulders, back biceps on tap today. I will be beaded out to Wv tomorrow but I'm hoping to get a cardio in before I have to sit in car for five hours. Then I'm talking yoga with me. And when I get back on Sunday I think I will do a circuit with lighter to med weights if I get back in time. Monday we will do a cardio and no work so ill clean up. On Tuesday its back to work and when I get home Tuesday me and hubby will be headed to the Beach! Whoo hooo we will b back fri in time for his drill Saturday. Busy week.. have a good night beautiful ladies! !!!
 
Good morning everyone. Yesterday was Athletic Step and today is a rest day although I may do a Cathe stretch (maybe the extended STS stretch) just for fun. This next week is active recovery week. Planning on yoga and light to medium cardio workouts. I forgot how much you look forward to the active recovery week by the time you get to the 4th week of the mesocycle in STS. Looking forward to it.

ReneeP: no grandbabies here. Maybe you are confusing me with Janie. Janie has grandbabies. Enjoy WVa this weekend. Should be a nice weekend although we might be getting some rain from Isaac.

Laura: you do live in a beautiful area. It's good that you take time to stop and smell the roses, so to speak, and appreciate the landscape.

Janie: enjoy the beachhouse!

We will be heading over to the boat in the morning for the weekend. Looking forward to the long weekend.

Hello! Did Step blast and had a blast!!

Janie: are you at the beach house?

Renee: i hope the trip goes well! Take breaks on the drive and stretch out your legs & back! Good job on the work outs. We are here for you if you need us while your with your dad! I like any Rodney Yee and Suzanne Deason for yoga DVD but nothing compares to a live class if your have any in your area!

Michelle: have a relaxing time on the boat! Enjoy! I know the season is winding down! I am thinking i might take two weeks between cycles this time! I might just do circuits this week and then start Meso 3!
 
Did STS disc 33, shoulders, biceps and triceps. My right bicep is sore. I used less weight this time around in hope it goes away. It woke me up last night it was so sore. Hmmmmm. Oh, Rolly and I did get out on the beach and walked a little.

Laura, Great job on ST. I love that one too. Glad you enjoyed it. Makes all the difference when you know the step workout.

ReneeP, When following the Paleo diet, just eat nuts (use as a condiment), the good oil and fresh avocado, lean meat of any kind (if you see fat on it then cut it away), fresh fruit and vegies. Most importantly use portion control. That's it. But I tweak it a little for me. I also include yogurt and fermentation foods, had to cut out nuts and fish (they were making me itch). No beans, grains or dairy is what it says. No sweet potatoes, or yam or even potatoes. That's all I can think of now, but get the book by Loren Cordain and see if you might like it. On Amazon you can sometimes get it for a penny, and S&H I think is $2.99. Check it out.

Yesterday Joey and I went biking around and found a blackberry place to pick until our hearts content. It is on public land and I don't see too much signs of anyone picking them. They were huge berries! We went back home and got containers came back and enjoyed picking and eating blackberries. Oh, the joys of little things. Also walked on the beach with Rolly for an hour.
Today, Rolly and I walked the beach and had one sprint in there. Little by little I'll be able to sprint again.

Enjoying a nice, restful weekend. It's been very humid here so Ripken and I are back to our short walks until the air becomes more enjoyable for him. We ended up not going to the boat basically because we couldn't get our butts motivated. Still having a nice weekend. Been enjoying the active recovery week: did LIC step only premix and ab hits no. 8 on Saturday, IMAX3 only-step intervals premix and ab hits no. 1 on Sunday, and shortly, I will do the Cardio & Weights step only premix and another ab workout. The Circle that I live on had a nice Laobr Day picnic last night that we went to. Probably about half the families who live in the Circle attended. Very nice gathering. Even had a live band made up of some of my neighbors. They were pretty good. Time to go lace up my sneakers to get ready to exercise. BBL.

Jane yes rolly is very cute. How big is he? Thanks for the paleo advice I'm going to buy that book. I mean y not. At least check it out nothing to lose and most likely health to gain. Love u and DH go biking so nice!

Well I'm home now. I tried to do a christy Taylor workout yesterday but my ankle felt like the tendons were getting hooked? If snapped so confused. It same foot with pf on it. So confused I am falling apart dang it! .. I only went jogging on sat and that was only for 24 minutes itwas raining at my sisters apt. But I ran anyway. I did until it started lighting lol. I had taken my lic box set in case I could exercise. But one her living room is tiny. Two this is one of the sisters that claim I had gotten to skinny... that was years ago. She has always been little. She make comments about how I eat then saying gawd I can't eat fat free I eat what I want. It's only about how much u eat. And you exercise way to much. U look anorexic.. I did get little. But I sware they were all negitive like non of them wanted me to lose. Well so ki don't do it in front of her much now. But I've gained 40 pounds since then and she don't say to much about being to skinny but she saw my bra an made a comment about " what a big bra" wow. Thanks is what I said.
When I gain I do get big boobs and I hate it. Oh well then she did try to say how she eats and said she eats in middle of night to. Grrr she is only 100 pounds if that! I had always been proud of my sisters when I was little but as I grew up away from them and finally came around them I realize they arnt the same as I was. They are kind of mean to each other..lol. I think they don't mean to b at times but they are so jealous of each other. I am not really I just hate it that I feel like they do not want to see me healthy. Or I was even told by one of them when I lost weight " why r guys hitting on u now and not me" and she said I get sick of people telling me you look like a Barbie doll." I hate we can't be close.
My dad however also told me that my muscles was getting big! I know it wasn't a compliment he means fat I think. But my sister says he tells everyone there getting fat. Even her. I sont know very confused so I try to listen to my inner voice and stop listening to others. That's how I started eating wrong again. I wanted my sisters to stop acting like I mad them mad when I wouldn't eat there food or I moved around a lot. I fidgetted a lot then to lol.
Welll my Dh thinks I am shaping up I think cause yesterday he said so every body tell u u looking good? I told him no they didn't say nothing. I was to embarrassed to tell the truth. He said well I don't know y tjey didn't you are looking hard everywhere and very shaply. Said I do look like I'm getting muscles. I just don't know if that's good or code for big! Arrr. Ill have to post a pic and grt ir opinions. Hey I do have one in my pics on here I was in front of a mirror. But I don't see how 149 pounds and 5 1 and a half is good. I think I look like the guy on king of queens ! Enough of that. I'm just frustrated sorry for venting lol.
My poor dad went home yesterday after I left. I don't think they should have let him go. When I left yesterday he gave me a look like he was starring at me as if it may b the last time. It sure broke my heart. I love that man. Even though I didn't get to b raised with him I still love him I got to b with him til ij was 7 but I still knew him on and off all my life. I always felted sorry for daddy. It broke my heart cause he was always so alone.

Happy Labor Day! Saturday was my big day at the Star House so no exercise. That evening I went to a friends house for a girls happy hour and dinner. I drank some white wine, first alcohol at all in 11 days! And I felt so terrible on Sunday, my head was splitting! Spent most the day laying around being totally miserable!:confused::(:eek: I hate wasting a day like that! I went to bed super early and got up early this morning and took Misty for a short walk because she is in heat and can't be left unattended outside! She is a lucky pup and can hang out on our property with no fence but not while she is in heat! Our un-neutraed male neighbor dog has come to visit several times already! Then I did the step portion of BM2 the bonus cardio, which basically the 3 step combos put together no break down and the the Power Circuits, ab & stretch so basically everything but the upper body work!

I got to go hit the shower and get ready to go to Gold Hill, where DH and I got married, for live Zydeco music and yummy Cajun cookout! I am the DD but pretty sure I am going to eat whatever I want!

Janie: cool pic! I love that one! Folly sure is cute!

Michelle: that looks like some fun cardio that you've put together for your rest week. I hate humid weather it makes me grouchy! Good thing I live in a semi-arid climate!

Renee: well that is uncool of your sisters! It sucks that they can't be supportive of you in your health. That is unfortunately pretty common I am afraid. You just have to ignore them and pursue your course. It is good your DH is encouraging at least I have read here on this forums of women's who's own husbands are not supportive which would be really hard. Hang in there!
 
Having a nice relaxing labor day. I did the step premix from Cardio and Weights and then ab hits 4 and 5. Watched the Nationals baseball game and walked Rippy (short walks) a couple of time. I think it rained a bit here while I was exercising. We sure could use a few days of good steady rain. Been going all around us this weekend.

ReneeP: your sisters sound very discouraging. That is too bad. Nobody needs negativity in their life. It's just not healthy, pure and simple. My sister Renee and I are very close. She struggles with her weight. Right now she is in lose mode, although the weight is coming off very slowly. She gets discouraged but I just remind her how good she feels when she eats right (and she really has to follow a low carb diet) and exercises everyday. I also remind her that she didn't gain the weight overnight and it isn't going to disappar overnight either. I've always believed that when it comes to losing weight that slow and steady wins in the end. So, you just hang in there. Let us be your supportive sisters. Don't give up.;)

Laura: sounds like you are having a nice weekend. And don't feel bad about being lazy for a day--we all deserve a day like that every once in a while. Good for the soul. You haven't mentioned Misty in a while; good to hear a Misty story. Do you think that you are going to breed her at some point?

One more ball game today (does it get any better?): tonight it's Virginia Tech football. Go HOKIES!

Laura That is so nice to have time with your girls for happy hour and dinner. As long as you enjoyed yourself! Hey i always get a hangover if i drink anything.. but that is y i dont do it often! Adn i also hate wasting a day, when i was younger id go dancing and try to do it becasue everyone else could hang and go to work i NEVER could lol i was always miserable the next day! So i ended up drinking diet cokes and dancing anyway i love to dance and every one else was so drunk they didnt know i was not drinking well also because i am a goof anyway so i act the same if i a m drinking or not lol. Oh i hate when other dogs are not neutered and try to get your dogs! that is a headache too! I love Body Max 2 i just love the music in that one! I will have to do that one in its entirity this weekend becasue it has been so long if i do the cardio and that is it i will not get the moves down i dont think. Oh have fun with hubby!!
Thank you for your encuraging words!! I am so happy to be apart of this forum becasue you guys actualy get it.. I mean I was wondering if maybe i am just too sensitive but i guess you guys see what im saying? Yes i am very grateful to have my DH This is my second time around and i know i have a good good man. He treats me well adn i am ever grateful for him that is for sure.. I will not give up on my goals.

I know i am not giving up and i am happy to have you all as my supportive sisters! You all seem so nice and i have to say you all sound sane!! I told you all i was not raised with them and i used to be so sad as a little girl about it but i tell you God knows what he is doing. I love them and all but i do have to say if i was rasied around them i would have the same attitude and out look on life as they do i think and i have to say with all respect i do not want there out look. At times they can be a downer about everything! And rely on other people for there livly hoood and i am not like that i have always been independant and i hope i can keep it that way. And i try to be supportive adn caring.. it is important. Like i told them before really our looks fade no matter what you do but it is whats i the heart.

Today i did Mike Donavaniks workout that one is good!! He made me sweat!! I liked it!
 
Rode the adult tricycle today around the neighborhood and near the beach.

Been trying new fermented drinks like Kombucha (SCOBY) and got a really sour stomach. I threw it out! So no workout tonight. Instead, to take my mind away from that sour feeling I'm trying my hand out with Repujado (Metal Embossing).

My daughter in-law gave up this craft 7 years ago and gave it to me just the other week. What do you think of my first try? I'm trying zentangle on it. Just a thought, did notice that small places are very hard to do. Need to check more on the internet on how to do this.

Laura, When I used to drink, before, in the middle and after the fun, I drank lots of water. Not so bad (if at all) of a headache that way.

Did disc 34, chest and back. I only have two more discs to go and will be done with the 9 month rotation Cathe laid out for me. YaHoo! I'm ready for something different. Will take a week of active recovery and just start to follow Cathe's Sept. rotation. We'll be in Vegas soon and will use my son's gym to lift weights or do some cardio. Whatever is there I'll make it work. Of course I will bring Cathe with me, they might have a DVD set up and can use her workouts in the gym. We can only hope.:) Oh, we went once more, blackberry picking. We use the berries to put on our homemade oat bread, smoothies, salad dressings...it's so good with great memories of us having stained fingers and mouths from enjoying the berries. LOL! I'm working on another zentangle. It's kinda weird. You'll see soon.

Tonight was disc 35, plyo legs, sprinted in 3 sessions, walked beach with Rolly. We were at the beach for an hour and 20 min. Also here is the new Zentangle I was talking about. I was wrong; I have been doing Cathe's rotation she gave me for 8 months, not 9. A miner mistake.

Yesterday I did yoga & total tone...I also took misty for a hike around my place for @ an hour slightly longer... @ 3&1/2 miles

Tuesday was Pilates & started Meso 3 chest & back

Not sure what's on the radar today... Continuing cleaning the house room by room. Girls had an overnight trip with school last night but get back today. They both got into the Nutcracker this year!!! Phew!!! What a relief & their both cookies so their schedule will be the same!! Double phew!!!

Hey yall! Its Friday! :)

Yesterday I ended up just walking Misty one the Reservoir trail in Nederland, it was super hot and so dry with an even more drying wind! Today it is over cast, very cool and we ave had a little rain. Today I subbed yoga again. The teacher is having terrible vertigo, poor thing, i hope she gets better soon, that would be pretty mserable!

Tomorrow i have to et the girls to ballet by 9am and then they have their first rehearsal for The Nutcracker at 2 & then i am going out for sushi for a friends b-day. So i dont know if i will have time to workout. :-(
