Getting Our Licks In!

You drew that? Oh my you are so talented !!! Janie what can you NOT do! Wonderful! One question I thought sauerkraut was white or mot red. Lol

Did disc 26 legs. Whew! I've lost muscle for sure. But, I'll get back there again in a couple more sessions. Still very sore, but was able to get through everything except quad workouts.

ReneeP, I did draw that. You could draw one as well, it's just repetitive doodles. Some turn out better than others is all and you never know what you are going to get. I used purple cabbage, that's why it's such a pretty color. Yuuuymmmm, you should try it, it's fun and very tasty/healthy with all those beneficial pro biotics.

Take care,

Janie

Back from being MIA. These weeks just get away from me. Fortunately, Ripken makes me stick to my exercise routine. Week 2 of STS: disc5 on Monday, 30/30 and core max routine 3 on Tuesday, disc6 on Wednesday, StepMax today. This week has been fun because of the mix of cardio--includes older and newer Cathe workouts.

DH has been dealing with a bout of the gout the past week--in his right big toe and his left heel. Some days it seems better, other days not so much. Today, he says it is not too bad. Ripken is doing pretty good although he had a bout of diahrhea last night. There was some blood mixed in which is worrisome because of the cancer. His system seems to be better this morning, but not normal. No signs of blood, so we'll see how the evening deposit goes. I check in with Joseph every few hours to see how Rippy is doing. So far, he is having a normal day: sleeping and normal amount of water intact, displaying no "ants-in-pants" behavior indicating he has to go outside.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi ya'll,

I have been having a time lately! It has been pretty stressful all around and I am afraid my eating is reflecting my stress! I took Tuesday Morning off because my guest were leaving early in the afternoon. Wendesday was my two classes and today was off again trying to find a new car. It is overwhelming to shop for used cars....there are so many and they are all over heavens half acre! My husband and I are dedicating the day tomorrow for finding me a car...hopefully I will have a new car by the end of the day...or weekend at least!

Wednesday I reunited with my original Pilates instructor which was informative. She has been studying the Franklin Method and applying it to Pilates moves so that was an interesting perspective for me. Tomorrow morning I am going to her Reformer class to get a sense of how she is threading the movement philosophies together in a class setting.

Cardio today. Walked fast with Rolly on the Beach for about an hour. 1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour in the evening.

Michelle, Missed you, and so glad you are back and checking in again. Ripken is truly the DOG, especially if he makes you true to the workouts. Good for him and good for you taking his lead. LOL:) So sorry your DH has gout. I hear it's very bothersome. I feel for him. I'm glad Ripken is having a normal day. I know you must be so so worried about him. I'm sorry you have to go through this. Be strong, if you can. We're here, you know.

ReneeP, how you doing?

Laura, Life some times throws us a curve. And eating is my way of stress relief too. Hope everything turns normal soon for you. Hows the car hunting going, did you find one yet? Sounds like the Franklin Method and applying it to Pilates is very interesting. Keep us posted on that, OK?

Take care everyone,

Janie

Will post my exercises tonight, but in the meantime here is another zentangle and my photo of as today. I've worked so hard getting there, and also realize I have lots to do yet. I'm ready! Can't hide the sagging skin or wrinkles but that's OK, I feel great.

Update: Tonight was disc 27, shoulders, triceps and biceps. Woo! Upped my weights by about 2 pounds.

Another zentangle made by using French Curves. LOL

STS disc 7 today. So glad I'm into the 3rd week of meso 1. I think meso 1 is the hardest; sister agrees. This is a quick checkin. We are packing up and headed over to the boat.

Janie: love the picture. You look fantastic!

ReneeP: just keep exercising. You'll get there.

Try to get back later.:)

I got a new car!!! I love it! Its a 2005 Acura mdx which got excellent consumer report reviews for a smaller suv. So glad to have that done! However it took a lot of time and I didn't get to exercise for two full days. I did do a reformer class on Friday with my original pilates teacher and although it didn't feel like a workout my mid quads were sore the next day. I got in about 1/2 of Rhythmic Step on Sunday before I ran out of time to go to dinner with a friend. Honestly i think it was good for my body to have a break! Today no one should for 6:45 am yoga! First time thats happened! School,s are starting so classes are always smaller the first week or two of school. Tonight iI only had 2 in Pilates & Boot Camp.

Michelle: I agree Meso cycle1 is my least favorite Of STS! All those pushups! I do like the legs though in Meso 1!my least favorite legs is actually Meso cycle 2...its is just kinda grueling with not very much fun factor for me! I have only 2 more disc to go in Meso Cycle 2 before i get to move on to my favorite cycle!! Legs & Back & Bi's!! Have fun on the boat....seems like it will be time to clean it up & put it away soon? After Labor Day?

Renne: I hope those headaches went away. I don't think you mentioned them in your last few post, or your foot either! So hoe no news us good news... What workouts are you doing? I think you mentioned yoga a few times....

Janie: you look so great and glowing! Keep up the great work it is paying off!

Laura congratulations on the suv! Wow that is exciting ...don't you just love that new car smell? Lol.. so happy for u. You gomna take pic?
Yes yoga a lot. I have been doing cf and pp I however did circuit blast on Sunday just got it in mail. I thought id like it but I don't understand, athletic step and circuit blast would b fun but yes it makes myy foot hurt! Burn feeling I also bought step moves haven't got It yet.. I hope that one doesn't hurt. I just take it day by day.
Today I did 4DS lis it was easier on foot.. but easy all around..but a good workout for after a long day at work and I'm sore all over. Not in muscle but joints. Tomorrow I'm gonna do a light to med weight workout I think
My dad went back to ER they willl amputate his foot. I told u all a few months ago that he may have to get leg amputated but they kept trying to save it. Was doing good the foot was black but they kept scraping it. Now the toes has gain green. I hate it for daddy, he is strong man, but very independent. Not sure how he will handle this.

Tonight was disc 28, back and chest. I upped the weight this time. Love doing that! Had company all weekend so couldn't post, they kept me very busy and happy.
I just lost my post, it's to late to do it again. Sorry about that.

Janie

Had a nice, restful and relaxing two days on the boat. Came back home yesterday, with enough time to get STS disc 8 done. Yeah! This morning I did To the Max premix, step, tabata, HIIT, and core. Took out the compound leg exercises since tomorrow is STS disc 9, legs. I'll be on business travel to Sneads Ferry, NC Wed through Friday of this week. Will try to check in. I'm planning to do Slide and Glide cardio and core premix while on the road.

ReneeP: so sorry to hear about you dad's latest complications with his foot. Hopefully, he will rise to the challenge and be able to get a prosthetic foot. I see so many military service members with prosthetics and they are doing amazing things. I hope your dad can get through the mental part (in addition to the physical) and learn to continue an active life. Prayers and hugs to you and your family.

Laura: I guess you did need a new vehicle after your automobile accident earlier in the year. I bet you are happy to have that task accomplished. I keep forgetting that you, Janie, and I are working our way through STS.

Okay--got to run to talk to one of my project sponsors.
Try to get back later.
Michelle

Thank you Michelle ..he is a strong man but not sure if he can be strong after since he is 79 now! Its amazing how fast time goes by. I can still remember him with dark hair and muscles in arms. Man time makes a change in people, in everything. Mommy used to say that to me to get me to except things before she past. Shed just say in a sweet voice" rene time makes a change in everyone and everything. " they were supposed to do surgery wed but they are doing it today! Just got a call at work 230 they are putting him in at 300! I just pray for minimal pain.
Well I didn't get my step moves in the mail yesterday like I thought I would so I ended up doing low intensity step from 4ds. I like that one it was easy and fun love the music. It had me swat some. But I don't need high intensity all the time. I have to get used to telling myself that and learn to stop eating so much. :) I wish I can find exercise dvds that have music like Cathes that are more dancy like low impact step low impact circuit.that are other instructors but can't find any to compare with fun like Cathe :(

Rolly and I went walking in the forest today for a half hour and did core work. It was very pleasant. Made 17 pounds of Saurkraut, and 11 pounds of Kimchi. Used more ingredients this time to try and make it even better. Followed an authentic recipe for Kimchi and man oh man it turned out so good. For the Sauerkraut, added dill weed, beets, apples, a little bit of oriental radish, caraway seed and a little bit of carrots. Hopefully it will be good as well. My own concoction.

Michelle Glad to see you had a couple of relaxing days, especially on the boat. So nice, I know.;) Great job on disc 8 and today's TTM prem: Step Tabata, Hiit and core. Good idea taking out the leg routine. Try to enjoy yourself on traveling to Sneads Ferry, NC.

ReneeP, I know what you mean about father's changing. Mine is so very different as well. I also still remember him very young and strong. How is your Dad doing? BTW, great job on LIStep from 4DS. I found my problem was eating too much as well. Portion control is the way to go.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Lol really.. hello back.. your walk r geat beach now forest! Can I come walk with you?
Dad is doing better so he said. I sent flowers and talked to him a while. He is joking a lot. That is what we do if we r sad nervous or anything we make jokes and laugh at everything. That is how we survive I think.
I did step moves, and it was fun, I put no risers on since it is first time doing it. It was fun" but I will need to do it a ccouple times to get it. Love it!

Renee: I am so sorry to hear about your father's ordeal. Glad he is sounding good. I am sure glad that your having fun on the step...Step Moves, LIS from4DS, Rhythmic Step are all my fav's too....wish there were more steady state ones to choose from.. I haven't done Body Max 2 in a long time but I remember really liking the step in that one too..

Michelle: you might have some input on good step routines, I know you have a lot of the older Cathe dvd's..glad the boat trip was nice..yup I have to do my last Meso Cycle 2 Legs and then I am done and ready for Meso Cycle 3, doing the 6 1/2 month rotation with accident, subbing tons this summer, the summer cold has really taken it's tole on my workouts.... but that's life!
