Getting Our Licks In!

Boy-everyone is so busy. I miss a few days and the posts really got rolling. Sticking to the June rotation: Tuesday was cardiosupersets, Wednesday was Pyramid Lower Body, and today was Afterburn. Just two more days and then a rest day--oh boy!

Laura: happy birthday a day late. Dang I hate when I'm late on the birthday wishes. You sure are a busy bee. So is your hairstyle still long are is it shorter? Just wondering. My hair has steadily gotten shorter in length over the years. It's just easier to deal with. How's your sweet pup these days?

Janie: Leg presses are tough. I had those yesterday as well in pyramid lower body. At some point with leg presses, I usually go into an "out of body" mindset--they are challenging for sure. I have HIIT 30/30 tomorrow. I did 40/20 earlier in the week, so 30/30 is sounding like a dream.

ReneeP: I love chocolate truffles too. Yummy. All good things in moderation. I take a one-a-day with calcium and then sometimes I take another calcium supplement with vit D but not everyday. I'm not always sure what to make of these studies. If you lined up all the studies on the benefits/side-effects of calcium, you'd probably find some contradictions in the findings. There has to be a happy medium--can't someone just tell us what it is so we don't have to guess? Geez.

So 42 days until sister and I set out for the 2012 Glassboro Roadtrip. It will be here before I know it.

Great jjob Jane on the Kickboxing I am supposed to do it today but I went to chiropractic office today had adjustments and foot worked on. Came home have head ache. Ii know i Can't jump again so I'm not! I will do it tomorrow and on Sunday when I'm suposee to do yoga I will do what ever I missed then yoga. Tonight DH and I are gonna go to bed early and.cuddle and watch some tv! Sounds good to me! All his idea lol he is trying to make me feel better about Not being able to exercise yet again.

Tonight was 4DS LIS with shoulders, calves and abs. Also walked in the woods today with Rolly for about 30 min. He sure loves walks.

ReneeP, I'm so sorry for your pain. (((((hugs and prayers to you.))))) How did the chiropractor work do for your foot?

Michelle, I think an out of body mindset is what I do too. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to do those leg presses. LOL:D I'm also getting use to 30/30, but still challenging enough to continue it for awhile, then onto another harder HiiT. Great job on doing the June rotation. Those are all really tough workouts. Good for you! Counting down before the Glassboro Roadtrip sounds like fun.

HIIT 30/30 today and no STS upper body premix because my left elbow seems to have a tad bit of tendinitis going, so I'm giving the arms a break for a few days. Feel like I could use a nap, but I know if I take a nap, I'll never get to sleep tonight. So, hanging in--hope I make it through the Nationals-Yankees game tonight. GO NATTIES!

Janie: a walk with the pup sounds like a good idea. I'm at home so I'm thinking maybe after I get done with my check-in, I will take my sweet pup for a walk too. Maybe he will get to visit with some of his dog buddies, particularly his girlfriends, who he just loves.

ReneeP: cuddling in bed with your DH sounds like a great plan. Remember on those days when your foot is bothering you, you can still do yoga or a good stretch. Those are beneficial--even though you might not feel like you are working as hard. Well, except for yoga--which I find challenging.

Hey ladies
I did an oldie but goodie, I did step today and legs, like i was supose to do yesterday, but I have been trying to get my foot better and my lower back. I am not doing to great on that. Well I did good on the dvd i did, It is strange it was chers old step with toning on the legs and abs. I used to do this workout when i was 24 and i have to say i felt it was slow motion! My lungs are in better shape now then they were . Like i used to do the step part and abs then abs and legs on the next day, but i did the whole thing today and it felt like a nice walk. I felt rejuevenated instead of worn out. I love Cathe videos but maybe i need to do my older videos on some days to get my body to cooperate with me. I feel like my lungs are better but my body is falling apart or fighting me on getting . stronger. But maybe i just need to step back a little, do a Kathy smith or cher or keli roberts two times a week and a Cathe video two and three times. Ill see how that goes for a while..

Oh Cheropractor went well but after the poping and all i felt better, the next day however My back was a beast! I could not sit up straight! I had to walk around for a while thank Goodness it got better, then i had appointment with him today as well im hoping this is gonna help! He said my right foot was shorter the left and i was out of whack all the way up and down my spine, I feel like it too! lol I hope it gets better i go again on Monday.



Great Job Micheele on the HiTT! I hope one day to do that one.

Janie you know i love the LIS I think it is so cool to do the choregraphy on that one!! Love the music to.

Tonight was 4DS Bootcamb with biceps and triceps. I've never done the cardio in this one before and I must say I like it.:D Very different.

Michelle, Great job on HiiT 30/30. Very wise resting that elbow. I can see Ripken with lots of girl friends. What a hunk.:D Enjoy your game tonight and sleep well.

ReneeP, Great job on the oldie step today. Which one was it? I remember Cher's workout. I think I gave it to my daughter. I would imagine it is slow motion compared to what you are doing now. I bet it felt really good to do something a little slower and still have a nice workout. Sounds like that's a good idea to use your old tapes like you said to recoup. Cathe does have beginner DVD's too. Check them out. Very well done. Wishing you all the luck on your chiropractor. I hear they are very helpful.

Nice day. Joe's son and wife came to visit. We watched Fha Nationals lose again to the Yankees. But they played better today then lest night.oh well.

Did sts lower body premix. Short and sweet workout. Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day but I might start week three of the June rotation. See how I feel tomorrow. Hope everyone has a happy father's day.

Michelle I think u will like the jine rotation I was loving it! Lol.

Janie nice job on bootcamp. It was really funn to do. When I did it my dog loved it to she ran woth me doing the shuttle runs suffles and so forth. She kept barking n running with me lol.

Well today's oldie was Kathy smith. The step .. it had upper body toning. What I did was make risers go up more and to give me a better heart rate. But no tourqe to my feet or back. It was so slow I could zone out again. Lol. May try it with my own music. I burned 475 so that wasn't bad. Amd I felt good after again. Not warn out.
It is strange how at 24 I thought it was challenge to do whole thing. Its like my lungs n heart are better at 42 then back when I ws younger! Just my poor bones arnt holding up. That sucks cause at 24 I could do 15 pullips. Crazy. Oh well I guess my bones will get better I hope so anyway.

Yesterday was a rest day and today I did 30/30. I do like that one a lot. These next couple of days will take off and get ready to move in the Beach House. Will still have to put flooring in the kitchen and entryway that then we're done. Oh, all except curtains. I want to wait on those last minute, no hurry. No one can see in where it's private anyway. Yea!!!!!! Was wondering why my feet and hands were itching like mad. I'm pretty certain, it's nuts and seeds. The Paleo is good because on it I don't have a lot of different foods and when I introduce a new food I'll know right away if it's something I ate or if I'm sick. I didn't have any nuts or seeds today, and the itchiness is almost gone. I'll be able to tell more tomorrow.

Michelle, Sounds like a very enjoyable day, family togetherness.:) Hope you enjoyed the game as well. Great job on STS Lower Body prem.

ReneeP, LOL:D I can see your little dog doing all those funny things. How sweet. Great job on Kathy Smith. Sounds like the easier steps are doing you good. When you do Cathe workouts and go back to someone else for awhile, it really is different. You Have Improved. And how can you not. But using these other instructors are smart on your part, seems they are working for you. Keep up the good work.

Well yesterday I did LIS 4DS. I love that one. I tried to pick back up on june rotation when I can. Today will be rest day. It calls for a HIIT tomorrow with a pub.I don't have either so I may do a low impact for40 minutes with add on of MM upper. Would that work?. If rotation has anything steady state ill walk or do a Kathy Smith. Or keli Roberts.
I ordered a highstep and it said a cathe dvd comes with. Does anyone know which one usually comes in that one? I have HSChallange. So I'm hoping it is the other one.
 
Rest day today. Still itching and trying to figure it out. Not so bad though, so I think most of it was nuts and seeds. Still have other things to try. Will keep you posted.

ReneeP, We bought the Beach House last year Late Fall I think it was and we are now almost done renovating. It sure does take a long time. Whew! I don't ever want to do that again. Great job on yesterday's LIS 4DS. Hope you enjoyed today's rest day. I find it a welcome. I'm not sure what you would sub HiiT, but what you picked out sounds good to me.:D Yes steady state would work with Roberts or Smith. Don't know what DVD comes with the high step. Let us know when you get it.

Got my high step and the dvd. It is the begging intermediate dvd. I already had HS Challenge now I. Have HSCircuit. I love thee Challenge onne. I previewed the new one it looks very easy i may try it today. I might add more weight. I think this one I can make it easy or harder with heavier or light weight and cardio I guess use arms moree. Or run up instead of walk up. Or I. Can enjoy an easy. Cathe workout! Yaaay. Lol
My back and fooot is still not good. Better then last week but not 100%.
Janie that is terrible about itching. Thatt would drive me battty! Ii hope u can find out. What's going on. I hope u enjjoy your rest today.

Got to the beach house and doing really well. Had lunch and Rolly and I decided to walk on the beach. It's such a beautiful day. Walked about 45 min.

, Not only are you an interesting person but you hold this group together. Do you know that? I think you are special. Yea! Glad you got your hight step and the dvd. I love the Challenge VDV's too. That's what's so awesome about Cathe's workouts. They are so good that you can work hard or you can work at a lower pace. All of them are that way. I can't wait to see the clips!:eek:

wow ! Janie that is so nice of you to say, and no i didnt think that. But ill take that lol. I think this group of women Cathe attracts on this site is a life saver. Like i said to you a minute ago. I dont know if Cathe knows what it is she had done. Not only does she help motivate but each of us i guess motivate in are own way as well. And i think You all are some amazing women. We dont give u, we have a heart of a warrior lol.. Thanks for the kind words Janie that really makes me feel so good! (tee hee warm and fuzzy!) awh lol

Oh almost forgot to say workout was the HScircuit it was easy, but i did have a slight sweat once i get to jumping i think i can make it harder if i need to. Right now i need to get my body to get stronger first.

Well not sure what ill do today yet. We r having a cookout sat. To celebrate birthdays of my two boys. On was born june 2 other june26. They are older so to get them to visit we are doing this lol. One of them invited a lot of people! Camt believe that. I said invite some close friends ....not his old high school friends lol. Now I need ideas on how to cook burgers for a lot of people and how to keep mess to a minimum. And how to not spend a fortune. Wow. Any ideas? Help.. also what all will I need
Never did this with so many people'. We will have horseshoe and corn whole...what other outdoors games are there to keep people from getting bored?
 
Gosh--I've missed a few days. I've been working longer days so far this week and although I'm managing to keep up with my exercise, I have fallen off the check-in track.:eek: This is Gym Style week on the June rotation and all I can say is that I am happy those drop set push-ups are now behind me. The weather has gotten very hot and humid here in the mid-Atlantic and I sure do feel it when I exercise. I'll be happy when it cools off a little and so will my poor little Rippy. Short walks for the pup until the weather becomes a bit more bearable for him.

ReneeP: where did you get the high step? They were not on the market last year and there were some women at the roadtrip last year who were wondering where they could buy one. Fitness First had carried them for a while and then they stopped; I found mine on ebay a few years ago. Just curious where you found yours. For your Saturday cookout: how about badmitton and croquet? Of course, those are only good ideas if you have the equipment or someone who is attending can bring the equipment with them to set up. Four square is very popular on my street. Everyone plays--all ages, little kids to adults. There is a spot on the road (we don't get alot of cars) where the neighbors keep the 4-square boxes painted the asphalt. All you need is a dodgeball. Again, this is a good idea only if you have an asphalt area that you can use.

Janie: I see that you are in the Cathe newsletter again this week. I'll have to check out your recipe. Won't it be great when you have your first weekend at the beach house without any renovation projects? BTW, I'm wearing some Janie jewelry today. I get alot of compliments on your pieces.

Hi Michelle.. I don't have gym syle arms so I don't know what that is. But doesn't sound fun! It is hot here as well but not like there I'm sure.

Janie I hope ur day is good. Yeah imsure you would b happy to be there at beach house without having to fix it up!
Wow I did Afterburn today I knew it was hard id done it before a few times. Lol I tried the express premix 1-10 it takes u once through. I burn 300 calories for 33 mi utes not bad. However I forgot all the planks and mountain climbers in it. I usually love those moves. But not good on a bad back! Then I did upper body trisets. Manmore push ups. My poor back! Damn its either foot or back. Sorry the bad word but man I think when can I do a work out and put my all in it without hurting.

Did 4DFS HIS, back and chest. It was a good workout but still the cardio was too difficult for me. However, I managed to keep moving when I could with Cathe and also used my climber for when I messed up too much. In the weight workout, I kept up with Cathe and used a heavier bar bell for the latissimus dorsi (laying on back on bench and kept the elbows straight while making the weight go past your head and towards the floor and back up again). Cathe used 15's, I used 20#'s, everything else what right with Cathe. Yea! Both Joey, Rolly and I walked the beach about an hour and a half. It was so lovely and no wind to speak of. Joey and I will be celebrating our 21st Anniversary this Friday. I can't believe we've been together for that long. I love him with all my heart! :D

ReneeP, Aw, your a kind person. Great job on HScircuit, I remember that one and love it. Yep, you can make it as hard as you like, when your body is ready. I know you are.

ReneeP, I love the clips too. I can't wait for them. Sounds like your plan for birthday boys will be fun this weekend. Chilli goes well for a large group and it goes a long way. Croquet is fun.

Michelle, Great job on those GS workouts, and those drop set push-ups. LOL, I know. Poor Ripken, on those humid days. Awe, I love it when you wear my jewelry. Makes me feel soooo gooood. And glad you gets compliments.

ReneeP. Great job on AB today. That is hard work! Good job as well for burning 300 calories.

Well I have DOMS from afterburn and in arms from trisets upper body. I hardly get sore. But what's making it worse is my back. Chiropractic today!
 
For the first time ever since I started my diet I truly got off track yesterday.:eek: I ate everything in site.:eek: I don't know why. I'm going to blame our 21st wedding anniversary today (it wasn't me, it was the chocolate that made me do it), yeah right:eek:. Yesterday I bought cheesecake and chocolate for our desert to help celebrate today's dinner (fish and seafood). Decided yesterday to just take one bite out of the chocolate sauce and after that I was eating everything in site.

This morning I woke up and was determined not to eat that sauce today, but will eat some cheesecake after dinner tonight (and that's all). I will not eat more than one piece, I will not eat and eat and eat. That should do it! LOL.:D

I'm so surprised that my GERD didn't act up on me. I'm also very grateful it didn't, otherwise I could have been in awful shape.

Will be doing a 4DS workout and will post that later tonight.

ReneeP, Being in on one of Cathe's DVD's seems to me unreachable. Wow what an experience that would be.:) Good job getting DOM's. I'm glad you are seeing a Chiropractor.
