What resources did you use to figure out proper nutrition?

I would highly recommend Patrick Holford's "Low GL Diet Made Easy". The aim is to eat a healhty diet that balances blood sugar for maximum energy.

My personal debt of gratitude to Cathe

Great post Annette. My family members also have health problems related to inactivity (and poor diet). One is convinced that her type 2 diabetes is genetic and refuses to change her ways. They look at me as if I'm abnormal for enjoying exercise when actually it is modern life that is all...

    Opinions please :)

Thanks for the responses. I was thinking Muscle Max, but I don't do it often because I'm not keen on the band. I like the idea of pyramiding pushpull premixes as well. Thanks again.

    Opinions please :)

Which Cathe total body weights workout (can include premixes) would provide the best strength gains? Pyramid total body bonus premix? Muscle Max? Push Pull? MIS? Any others that I have forgotten?

    Rear v. Front Lunges?

I'm okay with lunges as long as I don't do them back off the step - this hurts my knees.

    Cathe: 4-a-week rotations?

Hi Cathe, Would you consider occasionally putting together rotations for people who only want to work out 4 times per week but still use your advanced workouts? I'm very much looking forward to receiving the new series as I know this will fit the bill, but would also like rotations with...

Total Body Sculpting - anyone do this?

Is anybody using the Total Body Sculpting workout that is on the Low Impact Step DVD? It never seems to get discussed, yet is one of my favourite Cathe strength workouts that I keep coming back to. It touches every major muscle in 30 minutes and uses the stability ball. Often on work days I just...

    Questions about Slow and Heavy

Clare, just a quick note to say I've really enjoyed reading your posts above. I'm an ectomorph too and its been useful to read your thoughts and experience on weight training with Cathe workouts. So thanks! :-)

    Body For Life Challenge

Another option for variety and shorter workouts is to split a total body workout into lower and upper. You could do this with Maximum Intensity Strength or Muscle Max for example. These are really thorough weights workouts so I think splitting them is still effective.

    Body For Life Challenge

"Since the body BFL is suggesting 45 min. of strength training 3x's per week, twice being upper body and one being lower body, I am assuming you only do half of the upper body one day and the other half the other day?? If I remember correctly, the Prymid Upper body was over and hour long. How...

Ab segment on Upper Body Pyramid - are you kidding me??

I am also a fan of doing the core work before upper body. :)

Best way to lean out butt and thighs?

This isn't exercise related, but I leaned up over several months when I cut out added sugar (for other reasons so this was a pleasant side effect!) I'm the same height as you and was about the same weight. I never thought my lower body would be this lean as that is where I tend to store fat.

    August 07' Lower Body Solution

Cathe, I don't have the recent series, so need to substitute: Butts and Gutts: which is closer? Leaner Legs? Legs and Glutes? IMAX-3: I'll pick IMAX 1 or 2 Drill Max premix #5: I don't know about this one. How about Bootcamp? Thanks!:-)

Cathe - Rotation suggestion for July

Hi Cathe, with the filming of the new workouts, it would be great to see a July rotation featuring a cardio/4-day weights split using current DVDs/premixes. I know we could make our own, but we love your rotations...! :-) :-)

When do you steal time to work out?

How about doing 30-minute workouts before work, then on days off do 1.5-hour workouts?

Best "weight training" DVD for beginners

RE: Best Total Body Sculpt is a very good 30-minute beginner's weight workout. I believe it has Low Impact Step on the same DVD. You need a stability ball.

    Consistency vs. variety

I remember when Cathe only had a few weight tapes and people were doing 8-12 weeks of Maximum Intensity Strength, then 8-12 weeks with the Pure Strength series, then 3 weeks with the Slow Heavy series (search the really old posts to see). I think the general recommendation (in the...

    April Rotation

I would like to see some rotations for people who don't want to work out as many as 6 times per week. I know I could just add extra rest days, but its not the same as the rotations are designed to be does as is.

    Substitute for Low Impact Circuit?

High step challenge is a good idea, thanks Jennifer. Hadn't thought of that one.
