We're In This Together **Sept**

Hello Friends.

Happy Wednesday!

Rebekah-Congrats on doing CrossFit! One tough workout.

Colleen-When I was married, when my ex's friends went through something, so did we. Hope his friends make some changes to see each other more. A former classmate got married and his wife went on the road with him. Yes, in MI, we use Vernors. Some people use Coke too. Although, non-grass fed venison is healthier, IMO, than grass-fed.

Sarah-Happy you and your DH made up. Love IKEA. My furniture is all picked out when I get another job. My kitchen will go IKEA, this one or the next.

Marie-Has Breckin arrived? No stories from me on labor. Hope you enjoy it. Kids grow too fast.

Natty-Your rotation looks great and difficult.

Update: In class, a former customer from my old job is upset with me cause I told the instructor that I noticed some are struggling. The instructor agreed with me. But, the customer sped off. Really? No big deal. Just my observation. Some aren't doing homework which is a big part of it. The guy who I used to have a crush on is being pursued by another woman. So, I asked him and he told me he isn't dating her.
Today, I woke up and I decided its time to get working out again. It will be early though.
Life is never boring.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies!!!

My right arm is so sore OMG! I can't even put my hair into a ponytail  I tried to roll over once last night and couldn't! lol Then I knew I was in trouble. Oh but it hurts so good :p
I think today I will do my usual core routine.

Jen- So true, life is never boring! I hope class gets better! I wish you a wonderful workout as well! Get those endorphins flowing! :) I love the feeling after a great workout!

Natty- WTG on BM2 and ButtBible! Your rotation sounds awesome!! I know you're going to kill it! Addie had a great time at preschool, she didn't even notice me leave, she did have a fit when I picked her up though, she wanted to stay in the playroom :p The teachers said it will take her several visits to get used to the routine, and I may have a hard time dropping her off tomorrow, hopefully not, we'll see!

Sarah- WTG on HC and HiiT 40/20!!! I'm the same way, like it's over, really? Relieved and surprised lol Great job on CycleMax also!!! You must be a spin pro by now :) Glad to hear you and hubs made up ;) I hope you enjoy redoing the room! Sounds like fun! I think I will just be doing Crossfit Tuesdays and Thursdays, I thought I was going to do Saturday also, but then I realized it's just "Open Gym" on Sat, no classes, and you have to be given the "okay" to workout by yourself without a trainer, so that's a bummer, but I understand the importance, I don't want to hurt myself, and I still have A LOT to learn, I just feel like it will take forever for me to make progress if I'm only there two days a week

Colleen- WTG on Afterburn!!!! I need to brush the dust off of that, other than corework I have been missing Cathe! I'm sorry about Marks friends :( I hope you two will hear some good news from them soon! I hope those happy exercise endorphins lift your spirits! I wish you guys could do Crossfit with me! I bet you would be awesome especially after all that HC!!! It does seem like the workouts tend to be on the shorter side, that is the only thing I don't like about it, that you are kind of rushing to finish with the fastest time. I guess I will get used to it! I am sure the seasoned professionals were giggling at my time

Question for you guys. Do you use protein powder? And if so, what kind? They recommend drinking one within 20 minutes of your workout. I have never used one though. All the powders I looked at yesterday at Target had sucralose  and I'm trying to avoid artificial sweeteners, hmm.... I will be doing some research today! If you guys have any info, tips, I would greatly appreciate it!

Have a great day!!!!!
-Rebekah

Morning ladies! I have today off...whole house to myself until the kids are done with school! :D  Did I mention in the past how much I look forward to these bimonthly weekdays that I get off?? ;) Even if it means I have to work on Saturday, it's totally worth it for this blissful alone time!

I want to do one of the Plyo legs workouts today and hopefully get a little HC in, too. We'll see how much energy I have!

Rebekah- I do use whey protein powder and make myself a little shake in the morning after I workout. I found it really helped build and retain muscle as I tend to not be a big protein eater if left to my own devices. I trend almost vegetarian if I don't pay attention. I don't have anything against meat or eggs...I love it actually...but I only ever really eat meat at dinner most days. Also, it's not that there is anything wrong with vegetarian eating, it's just that it's tough to get the necessary protein for muscle building if you aren't totally put all kinds of thought into it. Getting complete protein at every meal without meat requires a lot of planning and thought!
Anyhoo, I tried lots of whey powders and the one I liked the most was actually from my local food co-op (their brand). No artificial sweetners (just stevia) and it was yummy! I also liked this one: Natural Factors Whey Factors Natural Double Chocolate Flavor 2 lbs Pwdr - Swanson Health Products
Unfortunately, now that I have this crappy lactose intolerance thing happening...I'm finding that my shakes are not sitting well with me. :( I searched for a lactose free powder without artificial sweetner and found this:
Biochem 100% Whey Protein Powder - Chocolate Fudge 1.9 lb Pwdr - Swanson Health Products I have it on order so I'll have to report back as to the taste! Hopefully it's good! Not being able to eat my greek yogurt, cheese or cottage cheese is really cutting into my protein choices!

Okay, I need to get productive here...:p TTYL!

Rebekah
I've tried so many protein powder's and found them all to be of similar taste. I know some people are picky with them, but honestly I really can't tell the difference . Here is one Mark tried but hated and so now I'm using it:

Find this 2lb Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein Powder in the Strawberry flavor you love at Walmart.com. Save money. Live better

This is the USA website. I am looking at the ingredients on my tub at home, and I don't see any artificial sweeteners.

I've also used 100% Pure Protein but that has Sucralose. I never noticed until after I drank it, my stomach felt funny. I would love to use a 100% all natural product w/Stevia, but up here in good ol' Canada, health stuff $$ are THROUGH THE ROOF!!! So frustrating!! We don't even have a Trader Joe's type store .

Hey just a quick check in...

I'll be back later to read posts :)

It's my due date! Nothing happening yet though. I feel like he won't be coming until the 17th...not sure why I have that date in my head.

Just been relaxing today! I feel sort of guilty for not going for my daily walks these past 2 days. I'm going to start those up again tomorrow.

Rebekah- Before I got pregnant I always drank Arbonne chocolate protein powder. I'm super picky with flavors and found this one to be my favorite. Like Colleen, I'm not a huge meat eater so I had to supplement with something. Btw I love the way your name is spelled.

Colleen- How nice to have alone time. Hope you enjoyed it! I always need that as well even if it's just on my drive to work. So peaceful!

Jen- Way to decide to start working out again. It is hard to fit it in sometimes but so well worth it. Hope it all goes as planned.

Natasha- LOVE the rotation....looks great and hard :) Thanks for mentioning the unpredictability of labor...so true! I made a birth plan for both a vaginal and Cesarian birth....nothing too detailed, just my general needs and wants. I'm going in with an open mind. My sister was super dead set on not have a CS and then she ended up having one and it went all wrong for her. I don't want that happening for me. A healthy baby is the ultimate goal and as long as that happens I'll be satisfied.

Sarah- Thanks for sharing your story. I love hearing how special and different they all are :) WTG on HC AND HIIT 40/20. You're an animal :)

Happy Thursday!!

Marie-Walking is a good thing. 17th gives you time to prep.

Rebekah-Its bad when you can't put her hair into a ponytail. Did you get enough info on protein drinks?

Natty-What are you doing today?

Colleen-Hello.

Good News. Yes, I have good news. The instructor told me last night the company wants me to be a tax preparer. Granted, I've been shining in class plus I know the franchise owner from Detroit. He used to be my neighbor. Tests are open-book so I'm going to spend Friday morning noting where information is. For me, I will keep blogging to gain experience plus I gained some CEO groups that follow me on Twitter.
Working out. Haven't started yet. Those pics on FB with the new series are exciting.
Start with LIS, of course. TB for sure.

Hi everyone!

So happy! I just scored a cute little pair of black straight leg denim jeans for $22! And they fit SO well :).

Ok, so I've officially rated 4DS UB premix my fav heavy lifting program. It's a bit long, but man nothing has ever worked me harder! Not even STS believe it or not. I'm getting significantly stronger and have more muscle definition since starting my rotation last month. Previously, I struggled with low-end push-ups and yesterday I was able to complete most of them. My bi's, which are the weaklings of my muscle groups, managed to curl 18lbs dumbbell's! Not many of course, but I still did a few . I strive to curl 20lbs+ like Cathe one day. I'm also excited to match Cathe in 1 arm rows, 30lbs! I'm so happy you guys like lifting heavy too so I don't feel like I'm doing a "man's workout" as some may think .

Funny you guys mentioning that my rotation looks hard . I didn't think it looked that way initially. We shall see if I can swing 3X lower body days. Really, Ripped & Chiseled leg segment is not that long and pales in comparison to Cathe's.

I'm excited about Xtrain! Those pics on FB are teasing me! I'm uber excited for Cardio Leg Blast since I looovvveee Plyo Legs. That Bear Crawl one is on Supreme 90-Day and Shed & Shred.

Jen
Great news! Knowing someone really does give you an advantage sometimes. I hope it all goes well for you!

Marie
I love how you are open/preparing for both V and C-Sec birth. I was a little hard bent on wanting a V birth, but after 2 days of torture I was like "just cut me open and give me my child!!!!!!". The recovery is not that bad BTW.
Don't feel guilty about relaxing! Do as much of it as you can!

Rebekah
I'm glad Addie had a good time at preschool. She reminds me of Bella so much. Too bad they can't hang out and do kiddie stuff together :(.
Did you get a protein?
YAY FOR DOMS!!! I'm a nut job, I know .

BBL! Have a good one!

Today I did CSS with the bonus step premix. I just love that workout! I can never bring myself to do it without the bonus step though...it just feels too short otherwise! I do modify quite a few of the moves though. Many times I'll add a little impact, so it's not technically a low impact workout for me. My knees actually feel better when I add little hops to the prisoner squats. Instead of puddle jumpers, I'll do regular skaters and touch down the ends of my step. When I do the burpee into pushup on the bonus step part, I do it without the discs and add a hop up when I come up from it. I also take the vertical/standing disc moves to the rebounder due to my knees. I've definitely made this workout my own! lol

Natty- it's so funny, Cathe doesn't bother me at all in this workout, but I was waiting to hear the part on the puddle jumpers that you mentioned the last time you did it. I had never noticed that she said that to Jai before and I just had to laugh, too. :D I always giggle at some of the looks Jai gives her in this one. The part where they do the jump rope in between the sets of kickboxing side kicks, Jai is totally doing it high impact and when Cathe says "now remember, only up on your toes! Keep it low impact!" Jai just gives her this sideways glance like "ruh roh! Whoops!" lol
BTW, GREAT job on curling the 18 lb dumbells! My biceps are the weak link, too! I'm looking forward to XTrain and getting some bicep work in again...I feel like they don't get worked enough with HC.
Also, don't you just love it when you find a great pair of jeans??? Being short, that is sooooo difficult!

Marie- how are you feeling today? Have you had any false labor type contractions yet? I had those for literally weeks before I went into labor with both kids! I'm so glad your getting your relaxing and resting time with the medical leave! You are going to be sooo glad when Breckin comes! :D

Rebekah- when do you get to do Crossfit again? How are you feeling, still sore? I just got that lactose free whey protein powder I mentioned yesterday so I'll let you know how the taste is after I try it out tomorrow!

Jen- That's so great about the tax prep position! Would it be a long term position? It definitely is who you know, isn't it? I really hate that, but it's an unfortunate truth. I can't wait to hear about your ventures back into Cathe workouts! :)

Bye for now!

Rebekah - I am not a protein powder person, they taste very artificial to me. I've tried beachbody chocolate and Jillian Michaels vanilla both sit on my shelf unused. I eat alot of eggs, and I just made some turkey muffin meatloafs that are freezable.

Colleen- My biceps are what is lacking too. However I do like my arms. I did the same thing with Pyramids and picked up 15 and they felt soooo heavy, I knew there was 0 chance of me trying to curl them.

Nat- I haven't done the 4DS upper-body, but after next week (my last SH I think I will do those) Thanks. Curling 18lbs, I'm speechless.

Yesterday was SH chest and back. Today was SH legs and shoulders, I squated 50lbs on my barbell plus a 10lb belt. We will see if my back is going to be screaming later

Jen - You will start working out again when you are ready, no worries. I just went through my slump too ;) WTG on the tax preparer school.

Marie - I am trying to send labor pains your way ;) I think if you aren't in the mood for walking maybe try some streching :)

Sarah

Tax preparation is for the season. Need to officially apply and interview.
Heard tax preparers do well though because of intense amount of training.
Hope to workout tomorrow morning.

Hello my Buff Beauties!!!!!

Today was a doozie :-0 I am still incredibly sore, but luckily todays WOD was mostly running :)

Here was the "Rx"
Complete the following for time…

800m Run/ 30 KB Swings (24/16)
3 Minute Rest
800m Run/ 30 Wall Ball (20/16)
3 Minute Rest
800m Run/ 100 Double Unders
3 Minute Rest
800m Run/ 20 Burpee Over Ab Mat

I only had to make one modification this time! Wahoo! I did 160 regular jump ropes instead of the double unders, I am definitely going to have to buy a jump rope and practice those at home. You were right Colleen, I LOVED the Kettlebell swings :) I sure was making some ugly faces though haha! The Wall Balls were really hard, you toss a 16lb ball up the wall and do a deep squat when you catch it, then push it back up again  I had to take a breather a few times, but I finished in 40 minutes and 15 seconds, that was a long one! Addie had a great second day of preschool as well, I came to pick her up early so I could spy on her, and she was having so much fun :) Her behavior seems to be getting better already.

Sarah- I am thinking I might just stick with natural sources of protein as well. I was somewhat confused that my gym recommends a shake, when yesterday I read an article that said protein shakes are definitely not Paleo, and my gym recommends strict Paleo  ??? Oh well, I just brought some nuts to munch on after the workout today. WTG on SH Chest and Back!! I hope your back will be okay! Awesome weight on the barbell! Keep up the good work :)

Colleen- Awesome job on CSS!!! That was funny about Cathe and Jai with the jump rope :p And yes... sore would be an understatement lol I could hardly get my sports bra off my chest and arms are in such bad shape! Even pumping soap to wash my hands makes me wince :p I am sooooooo glad we did not have to lift heavy weight today, I probably would have cried.

Natty-Big High Five for the 18lb curls, that is fantastic!!! Congrats :D That would be awesome if Addie and Bella could play together! It's crazy that you are all so far away :( I'm tellin' ya, you all need to come down here and do CrossFit with me, and we'll show them how Cathletes roll ;)
No I didn't get protein after reading that it's not Paleo, (which I have done successfully two days now lol:p) lol but today literally every one there was chugging a drink after their workout. I'm so confused!

Jen-So happy to hear some good news!!!! :D:D:D I am so glad an opportunity has presented itself, that is awesome! Keep up the good work at school! You're doing great!

Marie- The fact that we haven't heard from you yet today makes me SUPER excited!!!!!!! I hope everything is going well!!! Hope to hear some good news soon :D:D:D Thanks about my name! My mom used the biblical spelling.

I hope you all have a wonderful afternoon and evening!
-Rebekah

I'm here! Sorry had a busy day. I was thinking about you guys and hoping you wouldn't think I was in labor. I'll make sure to keep you posted when I am. I went to a diaper study this morning with a girlfriend. It was a group of 8 women in their 3rd tri. A moderator led the discussion and another women recorded all our responses. Then there was a group of researchers and scientists in a back room listening to us. We discussed different options and features of future diapers. Some were pretty bizarre. It was real interesting though. Even better is that we got paid 150 dollars for 2 hours of our time :)

Tony and I hung out after that and ran some errands. It was nice to have the day with him.

Baby update....Hopefully this not not tmi. I'm a nurse so I'm all about tmi but I don't know where to draw the line with some people. Anyways I'm pretty sure I lost part of my mucus plug last night. There was a little brown thing floating In the toilet after I peed. I have had nothing else since but I figure it's some progress nonetheless.

Jen- Congrats on the tax prep job! Very exciting!

Natasha- I'll have to try that upper body premix from 4DS. I remember how much I loved the Double Cardio premix when you recommended that to me. WTG on the 18's...you are one strong chica!

Colleen- I always laugh at that part with Jai! Classic!!! No contractions for me yet. I keep thinking I feel more pressure down there but I'm not even sure about that.

Sarah- Good call on the stretching. I'll do that after I finish posting. I didn't go on my walk today :( Ran some errands but thats about it. Nice job in the workout!

Rebekah- I love hearing about your Crossfit workouts :) Thanks for posting! Glad Addie had a good day too :)

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday's w/o was Step Moves + Step Kickbox from Circuit Max. Total time 55min.

Rebekah
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: = your Crossfit day
You are a beast! Seriously! I would have passed out .
I'm so happy Addie had a great 2nd day at preschool :). She must be SO tired at the end of the day!
Oh ya, Protein Shakes are not Paleo. I forgot the Crossfitters were following that. Ya, that makes no sense, you're right. I forgot to tell you, I've made my own protein bars and quinoa bars and protein pancakes. You can find all the recipes on Pinterest.

Marie
There is not such thing as TMI with me :D. I think that mucus plug is a very good sign!!!! From what I've read anyway. Finger's crossed for you!! I forgot to ask you, has Breckin ever hit a nerve "down there" and it felt as though a pin was stabbing you? I had that with Bella from 7 months+. It was the oddest thing . Sometimes I would cringe in pain it was that excruciating.

Colleen
I love that bonus step premix! I should add it to my workouts more often. Short, sweet, and to the point. I like how you made little modifications to the workout making it your own. Very cool .

Sarah
I'm really jealous of your S&H workouts. I love the concept of doing legs + shoulder's. 60lbs squats is awesome! Apparently I've read somewhere that when using a squat rack, we are capable of squatting 80%-100% of our body weight .

Jen
Thank you for the compliment on the OD thread. You are too kind .
So, you are starting with LIS then?

Have a good one fit gals!

Hello Friends.

TGIF!!!!

Marie-Not TMI. We're (I'm) getting excited for you. Progress is happening.

Rebekah- What's your workout for today?

Sarah-Turkey muffin meatballs? Eggs are great for protein. Love peanut butter too.

Colleen-Great job with CSS and bonus. Never have done the bonus. Improvization works best, I do that with Simply Step with Gin Miller.

Natty-Your workouts and your contributions are great. Remember, I still believe you could make it as a workout guru and advertise on HSN.

Update. I think I have an admirer from a group I won't attend until training is done. He just got a job, which is great. He asked me if I wanted to hang out and do "pickwick?" Have no clue what that is. Am I attracted?? Don't know. Must remember first but I know he's not into fitness.
Burnt out today from school, I did my problem from my homework already but not the rest of it. Driving down, I ran into 2 sets of EMS/Fire, one car accident and traffic last night. The sub-instructor has a HUGE ego. She works at a few jobs so its obvious she doesn't do anything to take care of herself, I don't want to be that.
Not sure what workout I will do but I will do one. Thinking 30/30 now.
Tuesday is open book test for 10 questions, T or F and mulitple guess.

Found out guy is married. Stupid. He stated, does married mean I'm happy, so I replied you cannot depend on someone else for your own happiness.
