Taking it to the Max-- June 2013 thru...

Katie wow your children are really getting some great opportunities ! I really hope you can come up with the money ! It's like a great thing and shame if u can't but a lot of people wouldn't . That's sad isn't it. I'll be praying it happens for him. It's a big deal isn't it? ! I hate schooling is so much.
When will Alec be back from Boston?

I have been doing the basic step and then walking on ulter ate days and I then did push pull yesterday using lighter weights then I was using lately . I go back to work on Monday or I am trying to I do get tired easy but I will get me a multi vitamin as well. I had to go to ER last week on Sunday night due to migrane about 6 or 7 days in a row not sure how many I lost count with my head buried in my pillow! It is awful living like that. But I had only so many trokendi xr pills left and I had been waiting for my insurance to approve them again. They approved them for 6 months I didn't want to take them in the first place if you all remember and I knew they were anti seizure medications but the neurologist all use it for migraines. Well I guess maybe since I was not taking them as. I was maybe that was y I had the migraines coming so hard? Anyway they gave me two shots and it went away and then my neurologist are not here now have to have a new one.. And the insurance will NOT approve my trokendi xr is the last word.!! So now they had to figure out a new pill. We will see how it works I have been on it since Thursday. I'm not saying if it's working yet cause I want to see how long I can go without them. Very upset cause I had hoped this surgery was going to fix this!! So disappointed. But I will keep trying to find it out. Can not live like that !

They are all high impact but there is a modifier and I do high impact until I max out which is in the first 7-10 min. Except for the abs wo, that only I can only do the modifier. They are fun, but not as fun as Cathe, they might be more intense than Cathe's at least some of them. But it also depends on how much you put into them like Cathe says. I love that they are only 30 min then there's I a 2 min cool down, M-F and M and W I add in the 10 min an attack. They are all different, well, all the Mondays are Cardio Challenge in month 1, then TTh for month 1 first 2 weeks is Tabata Power, the the last 2 weeks are Tabata Strength, Wed are all Sweat Intervals for month 1, Friday is alway Fridy Fight round 1 for month 1. Saturday are always optional Pulse. Ab attack 10 min, is on Mondays Wednesdays and Saturday. And there is a extra disc, Sweat Fest and I can replace Any Sweat workout with Sweat Fest. So it looks like be cardo MWFS are cardio days and TTh are strength, month 2 same basic deal, but they are tougher. Not boring, music is good in some place,. I never did Insanity so I can't compare.

Ok, gotta go no time to proof, I'm falling asleep

Thanks for the information! I wish beach body would show at least a 2 minute clip of there products. It infuriates me they don't! If I buy a video I want to get a FEEL for it. Like I LOVE how CATHE and KCM will give Video clips of there DVDS they give 6 minutes or 4 minutes of explaining what it's about and shows actual footage so you can see some of the moves, the energy in the video and the music they use. It's awesome and you kind of KNOW what you are going to get. With BB you kind of are going off of instructors opinions and what they say and the participants what they say or there opinions of it. Anyways I want to try his t25 I think. Not sure. This is why I am on the fence about both of these! I hear t25 is less impact that sounds good but I want to see clips of each so I can compare before I decide. I feel as if I would be just guessing at this point. So what did I do? Oh my hubby is going to kill me lol. Well I wanted some intermediate workouts till I get stronger again to add in the mix and I got a KCM trim down boxing intervals workout, and found an old vhs one on Amazon of a girl named Stacey benson I used to own and loved ! Good old fashion aerobics with some toning at the end and cool down![emoji14]. Then I added in a firm dvd that I might like, I did the firm before and they were good workouts but hated hated there strange steadied wife's way they talk and the ball room jazz type music well I found one on Amazon I looked it up its 1999 year the music is better! I think I can handle it! The workout works so I'm gonna give It a go. Then I had to get Amy Bento that one I saw was kickbox and it was some really fun music in it I could not resist!! Not intermediate it says inter to adv! I have not done Amy before! I hope I like her! Then a Tracy stealthe? Strike zone that looked really good to! Oh and old ESPN step aerobics VHS, Altogether all I spent for 8 items together 35 dollars! I love Amazon! Hubby gets mad about me doing that but Geez I get deals one there and I NEVER pay full price! Have you all tries Amy Bento before or Tracey!

hi girls! so cold here today, and on my one morning to sleep in, I was up at 6 to get alec and rik to the airport. they are on their way to L.A. as I type! I am jealous, as today the high is minus 7: I would love to see some palm trees and have warm temps right about now! anyway, his last big audition is tomorrow from 8 am to 8 pm at Colburn Conservatory, then he heads back on Tuesday. he had a competition yesterday and made it into the finals! he said after stressing out over these auditions that the competition seemed like a walk in the park :p. anyway, I will be glad when all of this is over!

today for me was RWH plyo 1 plus abs 1. this workout still kills me! I did some gentle yoga afterward to stretch everything out. my sleep has still been awful, so I think my energy levels are low. hoping I sleep well tonight, especially with rik the snorer gone! ;-)

renee-- how fun to get new workouts! I used to do all those firm workouts back in the 90s! I still have the tortoise and the hare with tracie long. the outfits and some of the instructors' breathy voices used to get on my nerves (susan harris!) but they were always good workouts. I haven't tried the other ones you mentioned. I am so sorry about the migraines!! you just can't catch a break with them! have you ever tried acupuncture? my brother, who suffered a stroke at 49 and then was left with horrible migraines and no peripheral vision, has used acupuncture with great success. I can't remember if you had already tried it or not? thanks for the well wishes on the program for imala-- we are going to try our best to make it happen. all of these auditions for alec have been very expensive, though! he has traveled from the east coast to the west coast in just a few days. I would never have the energy to do all he is doing, but I guess I have a few years on him, too ;-)

ladylep-- congrats on all your progress with the workouts! they sure do sound intense! wish I could try them, but really budgeting right now with all the things going on with the kids. hoping everybody is healthy over at your house now!

time to go clean the house--

katie

Hi all, I've kept up on my wo's. I think it helps that they are all 32 min, including the warm up except M and W, those I add in abs so they are 42 min. And they go by so fast! I haven't really seen much weight change or change in the feeling of my clothes. My nutrition has been ok. I'm really trying the moderation of chocolate more frequently. I haven't completely over done it.

Well, sickness is back over here. little K still has strep even though he finished, but spit out a bunch, his penicillin last weekend. He just started amoxicillin yesterday. I have him chew it with a chocolate chip and that has worked for 2 of the chewables. But the other 3 boys have colds and sore troughs. :(. And Hubby just left for his annual golf trip to FL today. He will be back Wednesday.

I still need to buckle down on the food! But I'm starting to feel like I will NEVER get it down. :(

Hi girls! Still keeping up with workouts here, too. Headed into my 12th week of the totally rwh (repeating first 4weeks after finishing the 8). Still getting nice DOMS and also adding in more yoga. Has been so crazy with everything for the kids, that i am a bit frazzled. Alec made schubert club finals last week, so more competitions ahead. His audition at NEC went really well, but he made two mistakes at Colburn, so now we wait until march to hear. He was offered one 20,000 scholarship, plus a 16,000 music scholarship for the university of minnesota, but i know he wants to go someplace new.

Ladylep-- great job on your workouts! I am so sorry to hear that you are still dealing with sickness!! What a winter!! Sending healing thoughts.

Renee-- i hope you are doing well!

Talk soon,

Katie

hi girls! me again! today was a double hiit-- RWH plyo 2 plus low impact 1. didn't know if I could pull it off, but I did. also did some gentle yoga and then took bugsy for a walk. it is supposedly warmer here today, but the wind makes it as cold as ever, if you ask me. then on Tuesday we are supposed to get a snow storm. blech. I am ready for spring already.

I hope you girls are having a nice sunday and that everyone is well!

katie

We have the ice right now. jTrain had a tough time carrying up the trash to the curb tonight. Handle for the can was ice, he didn't wear gloves. :(

Sickness is the same: 1 on second round of meds for strep, another to be tested for it again tomorrow, depending on the ice, the other 2 have colds. So hopefully they will be well enough to do school. Hubby is in FL on his annual golf trip; he left Friday and will be back 2 am on my bday Thursday. Today the sun peaked out for them, they golfed in the rain yesterday. Double round tomorrow to finish up yesterday's. He better have good weather and have a good time, for him to go while we have sick boys and ice!

Tomorrow marks week 3 for Max30. I'm committed to follow the food plan Monday and Tuesday. I have every meal and snack planned. I'm going to try 2 days at a time with the food thing. I really stink at this part! I miss Cathe's weights and the fun factor. Shaun T motivates but he is super intense and have to have to have to, go go go.I'm going to be really mad if I don't loose the 10-13 I am hoping to loose in these 2 months! Then I may try 21 day fix extreme, super intense eating plan, workouts still 30 min but uses 2 sets of dumbbells. Or maybe I will try one of the ripped with hit rotation or create my own that is 6 days, all 32 min or less with 2 days at 42 min.

Hello all I have been doing workouts still. I did pick up the intensity a little to mega step blast . It is an old one of Carhes. Then yesterday I did muscle max upper body premix was great to lift again!! I used lighter weights . Doctor hasn't released me to lift really heavy yet. Today I worked till 730 pm then went to store by Time I got home was 830! So made a fast salad and no workout! To tired! We were so busy and on my feet all day. I think tomorrow will be a lower body premix and then a cardio step again unless it is nice outside I may go try to jog. I love to jog I wish I could get my body to be a true runner but it just isn't lol
This week I had one headache so far since I think Saturday that is good for me. That's three days ! Hope tomorrow brings another pain free day so I can keep up with my workouts.

hi girls! still plugging along here. no sleep at all last night, but still got through RWH plyo 1 and low impact hiit 2. added in some gentle yoga. yesterday was legs and I added in abs 2. tomorrow I have chest, back and shoulders and then 2 days off. looking forward to that!

way to go on the workouts, renee, and so happy to hear the headaches are subsiding! I can't imagine nice enough weather to go jogging! it is miserable here!

I hope you all are doing better, ladylep! so much sickness! the ice sounds awful. hopefully it has melted by now. I don't know that I could workout with that guy!

better go get dinner on--

katie

me again! so, I finished 90 days of totally rwh rotation! not sure what I will do next, but thinking next week may be a lot of yoga to stretch everything out after all of this HiiT and heavy lifting. anyway, it feels good to have made it through, and I am really grateful for two rest days, tomorrow and Saturday (though I may still do an hour of bryan kest yoga tomorrow).

I hope you girls are doing well! I saw that the east coast is getting hit with more winter weather! we are super cold here today still, but it's supposed to be 50 here by Monday. I can't wait! (but will also believe it when I see it!)

peace,

katie

It was so nice yesterday.. I worked in the yard but no jogging. I did do a video an oldie! It was on you tube! Remember the video by ReeBox with Gin miller on it? Very easy to do now!! I remember at 24 I did it a lot and I thought it was a advanced workout then lol . It got to easy after a while but now that I am doing recovery still I decided to try it and it was a little boring at first but I grabbed a three pound set if weights and it helped make me sweat some! It made it feel more metabolic! So it was good! The music I forgot was a trible beat and I love that! Moves were simple that when I did hamstring curls I made sure to really squeeze the hammies and each move I squeeze each muscle. It really did make it a good workout. I think it's awesome that is think workouts I did at 23 or so is really easier at 45 !! I love that. Now what I like is longer workouts with this kind of intensity that won't kill me everyday.. Gives me energy. So I am going to try do one with a rotation that incorporates this type into my week with my weights full body twice and HIIT twice that way it won't be to scary lol an have best Of everything
Anyone having trouble with talk a tap today?

renee-- I do remember that video! I never did it, but my sister always did! how cool is that that it is easy for you now, and was tough then! I kind of wonder the same thing about the workouts I used to do when I was in my 20s. I did all of Karen voights dvds. remember those? I remember doing her "energy sprint" and thinking that was super tough, and also her great weighted workout. it would be interesting to try them again, at 44, and see what they feel like! I wonder if they are still around somewhere?

glad you are having nice weather! it is much better here today. highs in the upper 30s actually felt balmy after what we have been through. it's supposed to keep getting warmer and be in the 50s by next week. I can't wait-- except for the fact that it means muddy dogs, which is no fun and one of the reasons why spring is actually my least favorite season :p.

hello ladylep! hope your family is healthy!

oh, and today I did bryan kest power yoga 2, tone. it was a nice, somewhat sweaty practice.

happy Friday!

katie

Yesterday was KCM trim something lol it was good! I sweated good to. It was low impact because boxing and intervals of lifting weights. Only 30 minutes went by fast. No jumping but a few jacks! I never had one to get me to sweat if it was only boxing. That is strange. I am glad because I needed low impact but sweaty but not to hard as of yet. I go to Dr. next week to be released completely.

I am glad you are feeling better, Renee, and you are such a prolific poster. Today, I did some kickboxing and my lower boday. I had not exercised for five days as I went to visit a friend. I think a lot of you have DH's, and I am a single woman. I had a date with my friend Anthony last night, and I am 5'1" and he is 6'4". I hope to get to know you wonderful people.

So how was your date? I hope it went well! I bet that is to cute seeing such a contrast in height! Me and my hubby are like that but not that much!! Wow I am 5 feet 1 as well and my hubby is 5 feet 11 ! Wow 6 feet 4 !? Hot dang! Lol
I am glad u found the thread again. We don't allpost everyday but we try. I think the app I use to post is not working so it takes me more time to get to the computer or search on my phone and sign in. Ugh. Any way I did lower body today and took the dog for a walk and cleaned house yesterday was a rest day.

I hate to say it in public, but Anthony is extremely good-looking, and I know him for over three years. Our dates are fun, but we are not serious, as I am probably still pining for the one I lost. I did about 40 minutes of hi lo today, and I did my upper body with High Reps which really killed my bi's and tri's.

hi girls! nice day here today! it feels like spring is finally here! this morning I did crossfire plus core, and dare I say that it felt pretty tame? all that rwh must have really increased my cardio endurance. I even used heavier weights than cathe, and when she uses no weights in the low lunges, I still used 5 lbs. anyway, that was a nice surprise :). thinking I will do a low impact hiit tomorrow and then do both of the circuit workouts this week plus some yoga. trying to mix in some other workouts with the rwh, though!

hello Caitlin and welcome back! sounds like a fun date! my partner, rik, is also very tall-- 6' 4"-- but I am about 5'5", so not as big of difference! nice job on the workout!

renee-- I am so happy that you are healing well and getting back to normal-- that must feel great! hoping the headaches are staying away, too!

hello ladylep!

off to watch some midsomer murders before I pass out. this losing one hour thing actually feels like much more!

peace,

katie

Sorry I've been MIA, sickness and Hubby being away and now back but sick, had a bday last week, frustrated about not much change after 30 days of Max 30: up 2.7 pounds and only down a half an inch! Lost 1 in my waist and gained a half in my calf. So frustrating!! About ready to sell my Mac 30 and go back to fun Cathe and WW.

Katie, nice job on finishing the rotation!

Renee, yes tapatalk hasn't been working for me either, frustrating.

Caitlin, welcome back!

Also, my eating has been eh, clean except for desserts, which haven't been huge but frequent. And just this afternoon my right thigh has been very painful down my leg when I sit or walk. Not sure what that will me for tomorrow max 30 workout. Just getting over my cycle, so that doesn't help my mood....Hubby was gone for 6 days playing golf with work clients and a prospect, got sick from the plane ride home and now hurt his back. So not much of a break here. We got about 8 inches last Thursday, frigid temps on Friday up to 45 yesterday and today, going up to 50 this week, it will feel like a heat wave. But I still hope to get 1-2 more ski days in!

Gotta get some sleep, I think that has to do with my mood too. Tomorrow I will measure and track everything I eat, aim for 1/2 my body weight in ounces=86oz and do max 30 if I can. One day at a time...
