Taking it to the Max-- June 2013 thru...

Hi girls. Out with the kids at chamber group, which normally meets saturdays, but alec and imala had auditions at the U of MN yesterday. Woke up around 4:00 and couldn't get back to sleep. Blech. Did plyo hiit 1 this morning, but didn't have time for the abs-- will add those on tomorriw, instead. I am adding the first 30 days from the totally ripped w/hiit rotation onto the 60 i just did, to make it a 90 day program. I feel like it has been working, so i want to keep at this series longer.

Laylep-- sorry the party had to be cancelled! Glad he is fever free, though, and you are doing so well with food! I did not measure myself, but really wish i would have! I know i have way more definition in my body, though, so can tell it is working. If i could track my eating better, i might be where i want tobe.

Renee-- how is everything? Hope you are continuing to heal well!

Today we have to go to one of my least favorite places-- the mall of america. All the kids are performing there this evening. I hope we don't pick up any bugs in all the masses of people!

Did u all go to Oasis today? I hope little k was up to it. Hope you are feeling better to. I'd love to go on the no sugar thing but not sure what to eat.

Katie that's great the rotation is working. Can you see a difference in your arms or waist?

I am still having problems with my belly. Not the hysterectomy , that of course is sore and takes time. But my belly before this my doctor thinks I hav IBS. No test of course and he gave me elivar but that's just a antidepressant as far as I have read. If I eat my belly feels bloated and cramps I have to go to bathroom its been like this since I tried Bulletproof coffee. I just want to be normal again. Seems I'm hurting in my head or belly all the time. Tired of it. Doctors seem to just throw pills at the symptoms! I am not the kind of pt that won't do what needs to be done so if it's something I'm doing or not that causes it I wish I knew. I'd fix it. I want to try a detox for a few days but not sure what or how.
 
Katie, I would go ahead and weigh and measure. You still have another month. I will be weighing and measuring tomorrow.

RWH low impact HiiT 2 plus abs 1 complete! I'm starting max 30 tomorrow! And excited!

Little K's fever came back last night, but was better this morning and today so we went to Oasis and I got a second and third wo with climbing thru the tubes (hours) and playing basketball on a trampoline (5 min).

I broke my no sugar challenge. We went to Ruby's Diner for lunch and I got a good entree: Chinese chicken salad with ginger sesame dressing (fat free) yummy! But some how we had a side of sweet potato fries that I shouldn't have eaten. And then I ordered at kid size double dark chocolate chip milk shake. Not dark at all, it was good but not as amazing as it sounded and I drank the rest of CDawg's caramel shake, that was really good! And then tonight I had a piece of whole wheat banana bread that I made but didn't eat last night and a piece of whole wheat chocolate chip banana bars. That was yummy. But the good news is I didn't binge and eat at ton! I really wanted more of the bars, but they were gone! Hopefully I won't hate the scale in the morning, I was 170.3 this morning...I witch I could say that I've gotten in 80 ounces of water daily, but I haven't, 80 ounces of liquid, most days. I did get at least 64 in daily...

hi girls! today for me was LIHI back, shoulders and bis. was still able to use the 20s for bis even after the few weeks with just circuit work. wondering if I will be sore tomorrow though! yesterday was a long one-- didn't get home from the mall until after 8pm. the kids were supposed to perform at 5:45 but it got pushed back until around 6:30, which was kind of a bummer. the kids all played well, though, so it was a good night for them.

ladylep-- maybe I will measure! can you believe that I don't even have a scale, so not sure about my weight at all. sorry the fever came back :-(. at least it sounds like it went away again quickly. way to go on the self control! I haven't been eating much junk lately, other than these probiotic ginger snaps that I found at whole foods and/or vegan hot chocolate made with flax milk and dark chocolate. luckily for me, I can't do ice cream really at all-- vegan or otherwise-- it all gives me an upset stomach.

renee-- your stomach sounds like mine! I am fine through the first half of the day, but then once the evening comes around, I always end up getting all bloated. it actually ends up contributing to my sleeplessness/insomnia. I have wondered about IBS, too, but I think I found something that has been helping. just this past week I started taking rainbow light's advanced enzyme system (rapid release formula). I take one supplement before every meal. it really seems to have helped some! I wonder if it would work on you? I bought mine at whole foods, but they also sell them on amazon and for a more decent price (I will get mine online in the future). anyway, it may be worth a try.

need to get through more schoolwork with Nygel still this afternoon, so better get moving---

oh, and renee, I definitely can tell that my arms are thinner/more defined. not sure about my stomach, though! I don't know what it will take to get rid of that-- though I have so much stretched out skin from the kids, that all the exercise in the world may never get rid of it :-(.
 
Oh wow that is awesome Katie! I wish u had before and after photos! I can't wait to get healthy again! I just wish I can figure what causes my stomach and head aches cause I get so excited with the exercise programs we have ready at are finger tips!! I just know if I can find the correct foods for me I can feel better I think. Lol. I went for a mile around a track today with my dog. Everyday this week I did a mile but at different places. One area is around our home it is a little piece to the pond behind our home and then on the road in front our home I took my big dog bruno and of course my lab followed he is the king of the road he will not go on a leash at all lol! Never would, but thank goodness my bit bull bruno does really good on the gentle leader! So anyway next week I hope to go for two mile walks. And I have Cathes basic step and body fusion it has upper body and lower body on it and I am hoping that since it is lower in weight I will use it to get back into the lifting again. I will be able to lift soon. Not heavy but doctor said as long as I don't feel pulling in the pelvis I should be okay to lift. Just start really light and work my way up so I think I'll use fusion for three weeks or so.
 
Ok, so I started max 30 on Monday!! Cardio Challenge- maxed out at 12m 41 sec, I alternated between the modifier and jumping. Yesterday was Tabata Power and I maxed out at 10.10 during tricep push ups!! My triceps are so sore today!! And this morning I had a friend come over at 5:30am to do Sweat Intervals with me and I maxed out at 8.27 and we decided to do abs too I maxed out at 3.31. Today I didn't do the modifier (low impact) until after 10 min. I even did the push ups on my toes!!

I think I have something wrong with my right shoulder as in the warm up it was bothering me. :(

Little K has strep, he had fever every evening since last Thursday, with the exception of his birthday when I thought he was better and didn't take it. And it's possible that JTrain might have it now too. This winter has really stunk!!

Tomorrow is Tabata Power again, I'm not sure I can do it! Those tricep push ups!!

Katie- that's so cool you can see more definition in your arms!! That's what really keeps me going, now if I could get that definition everywhere!!

Renee- you will get healthy again!! Have you checked out the food lists from 21 day fix? Autumn, the creator, says to eat from the top third of the each food group list for best results. (I say after I had a spoonful butter and peanut butter and 3 dark chocolate Hershey's kisses!!

Thank you Lady Lep! I never saw this before! I thought about getting the 21 day fix but want to know what kind of music she uses and I was want t25 so trying to figure out watch one I really would do more of and music would be deciding factor but the problem there is they never have a freaking clip that has the music! It really is frustrating how BB doesn't really give you an actual clip of the workout. I do want to buy Autumns containers.. I know u did it once.. Was you hungry doing it? Did it seem like u were satisfied with how much u were eating? I am going to look at this list I love a list it makes it simple!
I hope u didn't hurt your shoulder!!
So what do u think of the Max 30 workouts? Music? And is it same thing over and over like insanity was? Or is it more verity?

Oh just a side note have you all ever watched show called raising hope? I just discovered it on Netflix! What a freaking funny show lol
 
I will find the link that tells you how many of each container later. I like the workouts, but Shaun talks a lot! It will take some getting used to. Plus he doesn't do the whole workout with you and if you aren't following the modifier the whole time, you may not know what your doing part f the time, I don't Ike that. The music is fine, I can't really remember it. I wish they gave a clip too. There is a 21 day fix extreme that is all the rage now, it just came out, you can buy the containers separately now for around $20. I've thought about getting them but know the veg/green and fruit/purple are 1 cup, red/protein 3/4 c, yellow/starches 1/2 c, blue/healthy fats like cheese and hummus 1/4 and orange/seeds and dressings is 2 tablespoons. So going thru the max 30 food plan, I'm over 150 pounds so I get 4 green, 3 purple, 4 red, 3 yellow, 1 blue, 1 orange and 4 teaspoons of olive oil or nut butter. Knowing that info, I don't see a need to get the containers. And some websites say 1.25 c for green and purple, red and yellow same, blue 1/3 c and orange 1/4 c. But that's not that big of a deal. I go with the smaller sizes. I wasn't hungry when I did it before. I also jump started with the 5 day inferno plan, that was 1100-1200 cal per day, but I don't remember being hungry.

I've never heard of the show. I'm into once upon a time, blacklist, agents of the shield and haven. :)

Got in Tabata Power from Max 30 today. My arms are screaming at me!! Tomorrow is Friday Fight Round 1, I'm a little scared for that!

Now all 4 boys have strep. Great winter. Not.

sorry I have been off of here again for a few days-- this week leading up to alec's auditions is proving to be hectic and stressful. I am also watching the weather in boston, as the fear is he will get out there and get snowed in and then not make the audition in L.A., which is the most important. anyway, just pushing through these days and hoping for the best! today for me was RWH low impact 2 plus abs 1 and jivamukti yoga. yoga is feeling really good these days when I get it in-- I need to get back to my regular practice, I know. sleep was rough again as rik woke me when he came to bed and then he kept tossing and turning :-(. hoping tonight is better. oh, and yesterday was a rest day, Tuesday was LIHI legs. was super sore in my hamstrings and my upper body was also sore from Monday's weights. good to know these dvds are still working!

renee-- I am so glad you are healing and able to go on walks! your doggies must be happy, too! your workout plans sound smart! I have not been eating well the past couple of days again, and now with valentines day coming up, it will be another excuse to eat vegan truffles and chocolate! how is your dad doing these days? I have not watched that show, but am hooked on a british mystery show on Netflix called "midsomer murders".

ladylep-- those workouts sound intense! way to go! so sorry the kids all have strep! you guys have had so much sickness this winter-- you deserve health and wellness for the whole family for the rest of the year, I think! how is your step dad doing, by the way? we loved once upon a time over here, too, but now have to wait for the next season to come on Netflix.

off to cello choir with Nygel after an early dinner. I hate to even go out-- it is super cold here again, was 9 below this morning and I am sure tonight will be equally cold.

I watch the blacklist! And supernatural is what I am into as well. Gosh I used to hardly ever watch tv but now I love anything off the top supernatural or mystery.

Yes my dogs seems really happy to go walking and I love taking them. Especially the bit cause he chews up everything and I know it is cause he has energy that I just couldn't take him out before cause he was pulling me to much. Got the gentle leader and it really works! Hardly pulls at all it goes around his nose lightly and around the head and it is really thin! But he won't pull it at all if he does I just say shh and he stops. [emoji12]. Dog whisperer I feel like ha ha ..
Today I didn't workout but cleaned house some and my head hurt like crazy again. Enough so much it made me cry! Hot hot shower my replax pill and it still was killing me so had hubby to tie a tube sock tight around my head and that in combination with all the above I guess helped. I wish God would let me enjoy my life headache free for awhile. All I hear doctor say is some people are prone to migranes! So what I am doomed to take strong pills forever?
Not fair at all.
How is the weather there Katie? Is it still snowing? It has been nice here! 60's most of the time but we are supposed to get a cold spell the next few days..
 
I did basic step and the lower body toning today!! Yep Ee I felt good to. It was not boring and it was not hard at all. I didn't sweat much maybe like glistening and my HR got up to a steady state maybe a low fat burning zone. I think that is better then sitting! Right? So tomorrow I plan on doing it again but with the upper body toning. I can't believe I can take a half a year to lose 8 pounds and take three weeks to gain it all back!! Crap!! Gosh I feel so fat!! And my left foot can tell to!
 
hi girls! hope you are having a good weekend! happy belated valentine's to you both! I was super sore yesterday and also still some today from chest, shoulders and tris on Friday-- I figured I would be after not lifting heavy for those last two weeks of the rotation. anyway, today was plyo hiit 2 plus abs 1, which felt super brutal in my legs. those jumps on and off the step just fry me. I then did bryan kest's power yoga for weight loss and it felt really good. I keep saying it, but I really need to up my yoga practice. by the way, I went and looked and you can get most of his dvds on amazon live-- I know the three main power yogas are there as is the weight loss-- for like 1.99 each, just in case you guys are interested!

this week is audition week and a big competition on Saturday, too. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the snow lets up in boston so alec can make it to his NEC audition on Friday!

renee-- way to go on the workout! hope you are still taking it easy, though! that weight will come off, I know! plus, I see pics of you on facebook and you are in no way fat! I think we all have such distorted views of ourselves. I am always feeling fat too, but then will look back at pictures of myself from say, 10 years ago, when I still thought of myself as overweight and wonder what the heck I was thinking! I think as women we are never quite satisfied with where we are in our bodies, whereas men will walk around with their stomachs hanging out and not give a crap-- do you know what I mean? anyway, you are beautiful, so rest and heal and don't worry about it. oh, and the show I mentioned, midsomer murders, is a BBC mystery series that has apparently been very popular in England-- we are on season 3 on Netflix and I believe there are over 10 more, plus it is still on the air with new shoes in England this year! let me know if you watch it-- it is kind of quirky, but I like a good mystery:).

ladylep-- I hope the boys are all doing better and that you and your dh have stayed healthy!

hate to have to run errands today, but have no choice-- it is about -5 degrees out there with 20 below windchill. not much snow on the ground, but we sure have the cold!

No dice, Hubby got strep last night, with a fever and threw up 4 times over night. So far I'm holding steady. Rest day today, stretch day "pulse" yesterday. I'm very tired, but will start back up tomorrow with max 30. I'm thinking about doing the 5 day inferno plan again, but maybe vary the protein to what I have. I need to jump start myself and go back to rigid portion control. I found M&Ms today that Hubby had bought!! :(

Hubby is finally started to feel a little improvement in his throat. The others seem fine, and I'm just chugging along! I got in cardio challenge late this afternoon. I maxed out at 7:44 and I maxed out at 40 sec on the ab attack. My back just couldn't take it! I really like the music on this one! I did well on eating today! Only 2 Minot slip ups! Here's what I ate:

Breakfast: none, waiting for my protein shake to have after my workout, which never happened in the morning.
Snack: 1/2 grapefruit and 8 whole cashews
Lunch: 3oz shrimp in whole wheat tortilla, 2 cups romaine with orange peppers and 1 (1oz) chicken meatball with 1t balsamic, the goal was 4 oz protein, but I ran it of shrimp!
Snack: post workout shake: 1c water, 2 scoops protein powder, 1 banana, 2t peanut butter (slip: scraped the almost empty peanut butter jar!)
Dinner- 21 day fix stuffed chicken breast: 1 butterflied breast stuffed with steamed broccoli and almost 1/4c cheddar cheese baked and topped with sprinkled mozzarella, 1/2 sweet potato, peeled, sliced and baked in olive oil and salt
Snack: 1/2 grapefruit and 2 small homemade power bars made from seeds, nuts and dried fruit
Water intake: 48 oz and I have another 16 to down before I go to bed, I know I need to work n this, I should be getting 85-100 oz daily.

No skiing as planned for tomorrow. I wonder how much now we are going to get. I've gotten ranges from 3-6 to 8-15 to nothing.

hi girls! so busy have not had time to post! today was RWH lo impact 1 plus abs 2. yesterday was a rest day on the rotation, but I did bryan kest power yoga 1. Tuesday was legs, Monday was chest tris and shoulders. tomorrow is back, bis and shoulders. I didn't sleep hardly a wink last night as alec is off in boston today for his first audition tomorrow. he will be home tomorrow night, then a competition on Saturday plus their chamber group rehearsal, then he and rik leave for L. A. on sunday. so much going on! also, imala heard back and was accepted into the summer program at Curtis in Philly, but even with a scholarship the tuition will still be $5, 105. not sure if we will be able to swing that or not! busy working on that now.

so sorry that your husband got it too, ladylep! I hope you are still healthy!! sounds like you are being super good on your eating! wish I could say the same here-- still have valentine's day vegan chocolates about!

renee-- hope you are feeling better and better each day! what are you up to?

have to run with Nygel to cello choir. I am *so* tired, it hurts to keep my eyes open :-(. hoping I crash hard tonight!

Hi all! Sorry I have been MIA this week. Getting over strap took longer than we had hoped. Thankfully I only had a mild sore throat not strep.

But I have done all the workouts and Max 30 that were scheduled for this week and increased my time from last week for each workout 10 seconds to almost a minute! But today I actually got through the entire ab workout! The whole 10 minutes! My time on Wednesday for her it was three minutes and 40 seconds! There was one exercise that once I was able to push through it, I knew I could push a lot farther and I wish I could remember which one it was probably something to do with planks, Oh that's right, the walking planks touch your shoulder move. I push through that one and I got through the whole thing. The pulse work out which is Shawn T'a stretch workout on Saturdays is 20 minutes and I got through about 17 minutes of it and then I maxed out. Tomorrow is a rest day and then it starts all over again on Monday. I did step on the scale in the middle the week and it looks like I may have lost almost 3 pounds. Not from the beginning of doing Max 30 but from the beginning of this week because I actually gained in the first week. I believe it was due to my eating I wasn't committing to the food plan. This week I did much better except for yesterday I was good until dinner and we went out to Panera bread. I got a half Caesar salad and a half steak sandwich penny and a chocolate chip cookie. Had I stop there it wouldn't have been too bad! But I ended up having a few chocolate covered pretzels and A few chocolate truffles and two chocolate squares. Oh boy! Honestly, that's not a bad binge for me. Sometimes I would've had a big bowl of ice cream and a large amount of homemade chocolate sauce on top. But I didn't do that! Baby steps! Today I'm back on it hopefully the food will go well for me today I have packed my morning snack lunch and afternoon snack since I'm gonna be out most of the day. I'm saving my 3 half cup carbs for dinner and maybe some chocolate for dessert. I need to slowly learn moderation when it comes to chocolate.

Not sure what it any we will get for snow. They are calling for 2-4 in Philly and surrounding, and 4-6 for north and west and we are west. That last one only got about 3 inches.

Lady Lep are the workouts on max 30 very high impact? Are they fun? Are they all the same? Boring? Or is the music good? Is it anything like insanity was?
