Strength in Numbers

JAnie You are working hard, good for you good job walking Rolly and doing Step Heat, I do love the oldest too.

Cheryl So sorry you still not feeling good, I hope you get better soon now that you have your vacation you really need to enjoy it. Its sounds like you had a very nice evening with your friends. Nice job going to BC even when you didn't feel like it.

Pam Well now the wine its going to have to wait for another time.. I found on FB Jaimie Eason 12 weeks trainer, and she give the food, the exercises, and the supplements and I'm going to do it, the only bad thing is that the first month there is no cardio, yes you hear me right no cardio, so I have to be, I'm going to try to be very estricto with he food, today I spent some time doing the groceries and cooking I have food for maybe 4 days then I have to go get some more food I have to eat every 3 hours 5-6 times per day and do weights 4 days per week and 3 days rest, the thing with this is to build muscle, but I think that in phase 2 she its going to kick some butt, I'm doing still Cathe STS that's what I'm going to use I'm just going to split it so I can have it done in 4 days. Good job doing AS one of my favorites ones ever, I hope you had the chance to go ski I know how much you love that... And the dinner with your friend that was really nice of her.

Julie Are you still there???? I hope you can move around:p hahaha!! No kidding you did a lot of work and good for you. I just cannot believe that the next morning you did KP premixes from KPC + double Hiit + BC from Insanity.. wow that was a very serious combination.. Good job!

Today I did Legs disc 17 meso 2 and it was as hard as last week I did up my weight in 2 exercises not that much just by 2 pounds so I'm sure I'm going to feel it, Like I say I'm going to do the diet from
Bodybuilding.com - Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer - Phase 1: Building Muscle Jaimie Eason and not do cardio for a month and see what happen maybe I'm going to go crazy not having my Cathe Cardio fix but everything for the love of my muscle, I really want to get more muscle and get a nice shape. SO today I spent a good time cooking lets see for how long can I keep up with this diet, very expensive... there is the link if anyone its interested. Well have a good day everyone.

Janie Great job on your nice long walk with Rolly. He is one lucky boy!
Thanks for your nice comments. It was a really nice dinner, but of course now I'll be working it off for awhile  Great job on Step Heat too! I always laugh at the hair and outfits when I do those old workouts.

Cheryl Wow, sorry to heare that you are still feeling bad. It is really hanging in there  I hate that feeling like your ears need to pop. Great job on toughing out Bootcamp anyway and yoga too. Hopefully you are feeling better today. You are on your staycation, right?
Have a great Monday everyone.

Eunice I was checking out that Jamie Eason program from the link that you posted on FB. That looks like so much food! Holy cow, I was really surprised. Do you think I could sub a glass of wine for one of the meals :D;)
Wow, no cardio for a whole month would be really really hard! I think you are going to have a hard time resting for 3 days a week too! We did get to go and ski on Saturday, hooray! I skiied well and so did my SS, but DH didn't. He was really frustrated and it is making him not really want to ski  Plus he just joined a country club so he is starting to spend a lot of time playing golf instead. I told him his golf is interfering with my ski time :p

Great job on disc 17. I can't wait to hear how things go for you with Jamie's program. I have never done any supplements other than those nasty protein shakes during the 3 day diet. I did break down and order some chia seeds since everyone on FB has been raving about them. I was telling the kids about it last night and they got all excited because some of their running buddies use chia seeds for hydration so I have a feeling I will need to be getting more

This morning for me was disc 28 chest and back. It went great, the weights felt right on again. I am always so surprised at how fast these workouts go by. Saturday we did get to ski as I said but not yesterday since DH was playing golf. He actually called to see if I wanted to ski after golf, but it was really windy and looking like rain so we didn't. It was good that we didn't go because we got a downpour. We needed it badly so I was glad, I just hope the lake got some of it this time. It is even lower than it was before and now we are having to worry about not hitting stumps. There are 4 of them marked at the end of the lake :confused: Dinner Saturday night was very decadent. Oysters with an herb butter with lots of champagne :D, crab and corn salad, lamb chops, spicy latkes, roasted endive and a really yummy cheesecake for dessert. And lots of wine of course. I was moving a little slow yesterday. Good thing it was my rest day! Have a great Monday/Tuesday everyone!

Pam

This morning I did Gym Style Legs! :eek:Wow!!!! It has been a long time since I have done that workout and all I can say is WOW! I think I underestimated it. I thought having been through STS meant that I could handle anything but I think my foam roller will be coming out tonight!

Pam Great job on AS on Saturday! Plus adding on the cardio only from CB and NE Abs and then skiing on top of that! Wow you must have been full of energy that day. Great job on disc 28. Sounds like you are doing really good during M3 with your weight selections. I found that when I got to M3, my weight selection in the workout manager seemed to be right on. It was during M1 and the 1st week fo M2 that I had to make changes.

Janie Great job on your walk with Rolly for 40 min! Oh yes. I am still having leg DOMS mostly. I get chest DOMS and bicep/tricep DOMS occasionally but almost always get DOMS in my hammies. Great job on Step Heat too! That is an oldie but a goodie! :D

Cheryl Bummer you were still stuffy over the weekend. :( But good for you getting in Bootcamp and Yoga. Maybe getting out and about will help clear out your head so you start feeling better.

Eunice Great job on disc 17! That one is burned into my memory as being the biggest quad DOMS ever experienced! I am still quite sore in my hamstrings from STS Total Body and now having done GS Legs, I think my hamstrings have tightened into one big giant knotted ball! I doubled up so heavy on Saturday because I knew I would be lying around pretty much the rest of the day. I checked out the food for Day 1 of Jamie Eason’s eating plan. I do not think I would enjoy eating like that. I tried a high protein, low carb diet about a year ago. I didn’t notice any changes in my body but I noticed I was becoming the grouchiest person in the world. I would get upset over the littlest things and I am normally a calm and collected individual. I really think eating so little carbs put me in a bad mood 24/7. I knew it was bad when my DH told me I was not the woman he had married and I needed to figure out what was wrong or we may not make it past 10 years of marriage! I’m not saying that happens with everyone but that was my experience. I’m sure you will be fine but if you do notice changes in your mood it could be due to lack of grains in your diet. I also can’t imagine not doing cardio for 4 weeks! And resting 3 days! I think I would die! I do hope you get the results you are looking for with this program.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the welcome back. I'll pop in when I can.

School has begun and I'm busy again. I was called to sub on the second day of school for a teacher who has breast cancer. The school was undergoing a $13 million renovation all of last year and over the summer and it looks amazing. Every classroom looks brand new with new floors, new windows, paint, ceilings, cabinetry, dry erase boards, etc.. I thought my first day back was going to be my last, though. I wrote about 10 math problems on the brand new dry erase board...with permanent marker!!!:eek: My first thought was, "Oh, crap! I broke the new school!" My second thought was, "Well, it was nice working here." Then one of the kids kindly showed me the wonderful cleaning power of spit. Problem solved.

Today's workout was Meso 1; Disc 7: Chest, Shoulders, Biceps.
Today's challenge: Clean eating and proper hydration.

Keep up the good work! Helen

Pam I know that's what I thought too that it was a lot of food, yesterday was my first day of it and believe it or not I was still hungry I was counting the hours to get my food:D I was thinking the same about the cardio and talking with DH he told me that that's right because I have being working out hard and getting to much cardio example during the weight lifting day I will get another cardio in that would sabotage my hard work, I have seen it first hand DH before he got injured he would workout only 4 days per week and no cardio only heavy weight lifting and he was so riped not that much Body fat I know in guys its diff.. I'm not saying that I won't ever do cardio again but I think I can give it a try for at least 2 weeks if it doesn't feel good then I would add my cardio.;) Hahaha I guess you can if you want sub one meal for a glass of wine. Good for you for getting your ski and doing it so right so bad for your DH I hope he doesn't quit! oh oh!! looks like your DH its looking into some trouble he needs to make sure hes golf doesn't interfere with your ski... I will let you know how things go for me, and chia its good I ordered 5 pounds DH make some kind of drink that is supposed to be recovery drink lemon juice, water, sugar I don't remember what else but its good.
Good job doing disc 28 chest/back/ I just love when all of my weights are right on, doesn't? I hope your lake gets lot os water you don't want to hit something that would not be good. OMG your dinner sounds really fancy and a lot of food :p

Julie Good job doing legs GS I love all of the gym style workouts they are good, certainly diff from STS that's why you are feeling them and why we should have all of Cathe's dvd's they all are not the same. Oh yes my legs got sore all over again this time I can feel it way up on my hipflexors and butt really sore but loving it. You are a little "crazy" with love! doubling up your weight just because you knew that you would be doing nothing the rest of the day:eek: that's when you needed to move the most so you wouldn't get those giant knots on your legs hahaha!!! Take care:p
You have carbs on this diet, you can choose from a list of foods that she provides, even home made protein bars that is something I do have all of the time and sweet potatoes I always have that too, brown rice another one, and the list is on and on you should click on the starch name and it will take you to a page where she listed all of the options...The thing for me its eating every 3 hours but other then that I think it should be fine.. and remember this is phase 1 lets see how phase 2 goes... Me too I hope I see changes on my body.

Hellene I would be so scare too if I get to mess the school board after a huge amount of money they just have spent on it.. Glad that the students helped, now you just have to remember that spit works:p
Good job doing disc 7 chest/shoul/bice you can do it if you are focus you can do it..

Today I have to run to Eppin so I will get my workout latter this afternoon I have to leave early so I can get back on time for the girls when they come back home from school... So have a good day and TTYL!:p:D

Did High Step Training today. It rained so hard I couldn't take Rolly out for a walk.

Eunice, Great job on disc 17. Upping your weight 2 #s is fantastic! Let me know the results after you do the diet from Jamie Eason. I don't blame you for wanting muscles defined, I want that too.

Pam, Great job on disc 28 chest and back. Glad you were able to get to ski Sat. Hmmm the decadent dinner sounds wonderful.

Julie, Great job on GSL. I know, it's rough! Cathe knows what she is doing to continue DOM's in our bodies.

Helen, That's great about all the renovations in the school. Sorry to hear about the teacher having breast cancer. Funny about the board. Hmmmm, I'll remember spit and what it is used for. LOL:D Great job on Disc 7, Chest, Shoulders, and Biceps.

Eunice, How was Eppin?

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Janie

Janie Good job on Step Heat and High Step Training. It rained like crazy here today too. I don't think I have seen that much rain before in August. The nice thing is that it will get hot again soon.

Eunice Good job on disc 17. I will take a look at Jamie Eason's program. I am not you for a lot of supplements and I don't know if I could go a whole month with no cardio. Let us know how it is going for you.

Pam Yep I am on my staycation. Today it poured like you wouldn't believe but it is suppose to improve. Good job on disc 28. It feels so good when you get the weights just right. Wow your dinner on Saturday sounded so good.

Julie Gym Style Legs is a good one. I find it is the ball work that gets to me.

Helen Nice to be in a new classroom. Too funny about about your bout with permanent marker. Don't worry about it, there are a lot of us who have done that . Good job on Disc 7.

Today I was feeling better and did STS Disc 26 Plyo Legs. It felt so good. After that it was to Costco and grocery shopping and some housework. It rained so hard here today that you really didn't want to go outside, but it was sure muggy. Oh well tomorrow is suppose to be better.

Have a great Tuesday.

Cheryl

Julie Hmmmmm...GS legs sounds like a good one. I think I have only done it once, sounds like one that I am going to need to check out again once I finish STS. I hope your legs are doing ok today!
It sounds like our STS experiences have been similar. I am a little surprised that the weights would be right on for M3 after having to make changes in m1 and m2, but now that I'm doing it I remember that's how it was the first time for me too.
Wow, your low carb diet sounds scary. I have never tried to do low carbs, I love my carbs too much!

Helen OMG, quite the first day back to school, huh? THat is so funny that one of the kids knew how to clean it with spit! :D Who knew?!
Are you doing an STS rotation, or just working in some of the STS discs? I hope you did well with your clean eating and hydration yesterday!

Eunice My friend went to a personal trainer and they did a similar thing with him...hardly any cardio. I know at the gyms it's always the people who spend most of their time in the weight room that look the best. I just really love my cardio though! I am anxious to see how this program goes for you. So even though it sounds like a lot of food you are still hungry huh? Hopefully you will get past the hunger quickly. My chia seeds haven't come yet. I only ordered 1 pound to try them out, but then I saw them at Whole Foods for the same price so I will just get them there in the future. Your DHs drink sounds good, sound like lemonade.
Did you see Tricia Rush's post on FB about her green smoothie and how bad it was? I was laughing and thinking about you and your smoothie.
I don't know if the lake got any of the rain yet or not, but I guess I will find out this weekend. Now Hurricane Irene is supposed to hit our coast this weekend..... that wouldn't be good, but it would probably fill the lake. The last time we had a bad drought like this we got a tropical storm and then the water was about 2 feet high for awhile

Janie Great job on HST. That is a goodie, I bet you were wringing out the headband after that one! How is your toe doing? Good as new? I hope so!

Cheryl I hope that you are enjoying your time off. Hopefully you are able to sleep in a little and get your workouts in and also get some relaxation!
Wow, you must have been feeling a lot better to do plyo legs! Great job!

This morning for me was Hiit 30/30+Heavy bag bonus+ abs from LIC. I really didn't want to get up and workout because I had Girls Night out last night so it was a late night with lots of wine, but I figured that was all the more reason I needed to get up and do it! I hope everyone has a great Tuesday/Wednesday!

Pam

I didn’t have time for the foam roller last night like I had hoped but my legs are not really doing that bad today. This morning I started the 4DS series with Lower Intensity Step. It has been almost a year since I have done the whole series. I normally just do the cardio portions. I actually did very well on the step portion which has been hard for me in the past. Tomorrow I am doing Higher Intensity Step and that step portion is definitely more challenging to me than LIS. We’ll see how it goes.

Helen Great job on disc 7! So it looks like you have started another round of STS? I just finished a round a few weeks ago and will start one up again in another few weeks. That is funny (and scary) about the dry erase board. Good thing you had those kids looking out for you. ;)

Eunice I hope you got all your errands and workout in yesterday. I totally agree about needing all Cathe’s workouts. Just because she has several that focus on legs doesn’t mean you get the same effect from each one. They each have their own spin, fun factor, and ouch (DOMS) factor! I love them all. I’ll have to relook at the plan again that you are doing. I didn’t remember seeing many grains or fruits but I admit I looked at it pretty quickly here at work. I agree with Pam that most people who do very little to no cardio but still lift heavy seem to look the best. It is just so darn hard to think of giving up cardio. :(

Janie Great job on HST! That one is so good! I always feel well worked after that one (and dripping with sweat). Oh yea! Cathe is a DOMS specialist!

Cheryl Great job on disc 26 Plyo Legs! Sounds like you had a busy day on your first staycation day. Whenever I have a staycation, I try to get as much done as early as possible so I can have some lazy days in near the end. Yea, that ball work at the end of GS Legs is really what gets you. I think it is those roll ins that do it for me the worse. Then again those last set of slow & low lunges are killer.

Pam Great job for getting up and working out even when you didn’t want to—especially to do 30/30 + HBB + LIC abs! WOW! You really did want to work off that wine from the previous night. You should definitely do GS legs after finishing STS! It is a doozy and as Cheryl reminded me it is the ball work at the end that is what gets you good. Of course the last set of slow & low lunges is super hard too. Cathe uses 5 pounds on those and I remember thinking I could go with 10 because that is what I used in other lunges. Don't make that same mistake!

Have a great day!

Janie Good job doing HST and so sad for Rolly he couldn't get his walk:( I know that is very sad for Sam but what we can do, nothing!! Thanks for supporting me on my experiment I hope it works for good!

Cheryl You should take a good look at the program when you click on the "starch" it'll take you to a page when she gives a list of what can be use I was so happy when I saw oatmeal its a good carb because I love my oatmeal in the mornings, so far so good, even doing weights every day its a challenge because I don't get the rest in between with the cardio. SO I think its fine. I'm glad that you are doing a lot better, Good job doing disc 26 Plyo legs deff a good-pick-me-up to take you through the rest of the day. I hope you get a better weather for your vacations.

Pam I will let you know how this program work for me, my only concern is that the program suggest a kind of meso 1 type of exercises and I'm doing meso 2 I was looking at Jaimie's FB page and she was explaining to some people that phase 2- and phase 3 are totally diff so I wonder if I have to lower my weight to 60% just do the same concept from meso 2:confused: DH say that I'm fine because I will get the 3 day rest and recover because we don't get muscle while working out is while resting hmmmm? I have just to go in depending how I feel I guess.. I know I saw Tricia's green drink she is just a funny, silly lady I love mine green drinks they don't taste that gross the thing is not to mix odd flavors she is just funny! I heard about the Hurricane I guess for some parts are a good thing to happen. Good job doing Hiit 30/30 + Heavy bag and abs I like your punishment for staying up late last night having lots of wine :p

Julie I'm glad that you are not feeling that terrible after your marathon of work outs, Good job doing LIS from 4DS Not one of my favorite steps I just don't not know why I can get it as I want. I guess is just practice what I need. You should give another look and see that is not that bad, I'm not giving up my cardio Cathe's fix for ever is just for a short period of time then thing are going to take a diff turn and I'm going to be more that ready for that. For now I'm just going to use my time wisely I was reading on a magazine that keeping a clean, neat house its another way to burn calories and stay in shape;) I know that its going to be impossible, one day I clean the next day it looks like I haven't clean in a very long time, which I hate by the way!!

Well yesterday I went to Epping you guys are not going to believe "why" I went to this place..... I took my DD that didn't have to go to school to get a ear piercing the infamous Tragus, I know I'm terrible:confused::eek: she pay for it so that's one good thing.. then she helped me when I was working out she was helping to give me my barbell that was good too. So today I have back/biceps then just the every day chores nothing exited ohhhh I went to the store early this morning and I got one more bone for Sam he was starting to get bore and breaking the tree brunches then I knew its time for a new bone. Have a good day.

Pam Sleep in!!!!! Not with 3 cats around me :D. This morning I had Taylis sitting on my chest trying to pull off the sheets and Tigger (who is 21 pounds) walking back and forth over top of me about 6:00 this morning. Ahh my little alarm clocks . My legs were really feeling it this morning after yesterday's workout but in a good way. Wow you were able to get up and workout after going out and drinking wine . I would have been a zombie all day and I wouldn't have had the energy to workout at all. I saw you posted on FB that you felt the eathquake today too. Scary I didn't think the East Coast really had earthquakes. They have been telling us that we will get the big one soon. With all of these earthquakes that have been happening lately I know our time is running out.

Julie Way to go on the step portion of LIS. I agree that the step portion of HIS is more challenging but once you get it you won't loose it. It was a busy day yesterday but I like the fact that I have time to get things done instead of trying to fit it into a weekend. Yep those roll ins get me too. I have a hard time trying to keep my butt off the floor.

Eunice I will take a look at the program. I like to have oatmeal in the mornings too along with some egg whites. That keeps me full for a while. Doing weights everyday would be a challenge. I take it Tragus does other types of piercings too? I wouldn't say you are terrible in taking her there. Sam sure does like his bones.

Today I did Cardio Kicks. I am trying to follow the last two weeks of Cathe's August rotation. It was a nicer day out today so we got to sit ouside and have dinner. I picked up steaks at Costco yesterday and we had those. Ummm they were really good.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

Did Athletic Step today and walked Rolly 30 min. It was a good day.

Cheryl, Great job on Disc 26 Plyo Legs. I here ya about the rain.

Pam, Yep I certainly did wring out the headband.LOL:D I love working up a sweat. Great job on Hiit 30/30+ heavy bag bonus and abs from LIC. Love your self motivation. Good for you. My toe is all healed, it's like it's never been broken.

Julie, Great job on LIS. That one creeps up on you, don't you think?

Eunice, Sam is such a character. He really need to be kept occupied, wow. I bet your DD will enjoy the many earrings now that her ears are pierced. Was it the one only or both. I saw piercing in the ear like that. Thought it was pretty. Then helping you workout was really nice of her.

Cheryl, Great job on those CK. Oooo love eating outside when it's nice. Yep, I agree, it's time for a big earthquake here. Scary.

Have a good one everyone,

Janie

Julie Glad that your legs survived ok without a foam roller session. Great job on LIS. Those 2 4DS step workouts do seem to be different than Cathe's normal style with step.
It sounded like I did more yesterday than I really did. Even with those 3 things my total workout was under and hour. Thanks for the warning on the low and slow lunges, I will keep that in mind. I know those are killers.

Eunice I bet you are fine doing the meso 2 type exercises instead of meso 1. Unless you want to add about 300 pushups every week :D you could always do that ;) So are you doing your rest days all in a row or are you alternating days? Your DH is right, we actually build the muscles on our rest days. Seems weird, huh?
I see that Tricia found a green smoothie that she liked, none of them sound good to me! Everyone here is getting all worked up about the hurricane. People are stocking up on water in case we are out of power for awhile. About 15 years ago the eye of hurricane Fran went right over Raleigh and my power was out for 5 days. Luckily I was a member of the Y at the time and they had power so I would take my showers there. It doesn't look like this one will come this far inland, but I'm worried for my friends beach house.
I had to look up what Tragus piercing was, I had never heard of that before. It looks like it would hurt! Did it?

Cheryl Whatever happened with Tiggers diet? Your post about him being 21 pounds reminded me of that. I remember one morning I was dreaming that I was being crushed and couldn't breath and I woke up to Butters sleeping on my chest  They are quite the little pests aren't they?! I haven't figured out how to get them to respect days off. They totally leave DH alone though...they just lay beside him patiently waiting for him to wake up. Of course he doesn't give them treats when he gets up.
Glad to hear that you got some nice DOMS.
Yes, we felt the earthquake yesterday but had no idea what it was. I was in a meeting and we were wondering what in the world could cause the whole building to shake. None of us ever thought about an earthquake. I guess all of the people on the west coast were making fun of us on twitter and facebook  They were saying on the news this morning that some of the animals at the Washington DC zoo were doing what they called panic calls about 15 minutes before anyone felt the earthquake there...

Great job on cardio kicks, I really like that one. Yuummmmm,,,,steaks outside for dinner. Just need a glass of red wine with that! :D

Janie Great job on AS and your 30 minute walk. AS is another one of my favs! Sounds like yet another headband wringer! I'm so glad that your toe is all healed. I know how hard it was for you to stay off of it, but you did such a great job of doing that while still getting some good workouts done. You should be very proud of yourself!

This morning was disc 29 plyo legs, I just love love love the plyo leg workouts. They are killer, but each drill is just long enough without being too long. Well, maybe except those 180 degree turns, I could stand fewer of those :p I hope everyone has a great Wednesday/Thursday!

Pam

Good morning. It's nice to see everyone survived the earthquake. :) We had one a few months ago in Missouri and it is a strange sensation. We knew right away what it was when it happened.

Yes, I started another round of STS. I'm in the second week of Meso 1 right now. While I was MIA from here, I did another round of P90X, but my diet was really bad and I phoned in a few workouts...they just didn't engage me like Cathe does.

I am determined to make this round of STS stick!! I'm off to a good start...4 of the 24 lbs. I want to lose are gone since last week. Proper nutrition and proper hydration really are the key.

I still don't know what a lot of the Cathe workout abbreviations are...it's like another language. One of these days...:p

Have a good Wednesday! :D Helen

This morning I did 4DS Higher Intensity Step. I didn’t do too bad on the step portion. I definitely did much better than the last time and didn’t spend very much time at all staring at the screen with my jaw hanging open! :p

Eunice Good job on your weight workouts! Ouch on the Tragus earrings! Wonder if that hurts worse than getting your tongue pierced? Sam is such a spoiled boy getting a new bone but if it keeps him out of trouble that is a good thing. I looked at the plan a little more. I see the starches now but man that is a lot of protein! I like protein but since I only eat fish and eggs, it really makes for a boring meal plan. I’m going to keep this plan bookmarked and depending on how you like it may try it next year after my next STS rotation. I couldn’t find any info on Phase 2 or 3. Do you have links for those phases? Also, are you drinking a protein shake after weight lifting in addition to the meal plan or doing your workout so you eat one of the meals directly afterward? That didn’t seem clear to me which way to go.

Cheryl Great job on Cardio Kicks! I really like that one. I’m glad I’m not the only one that has a hard time keeping my butt off the floor during those roll-ins. I haven’t eaten red meat in almost 3 years but I made steaks for my parents and DH Saturday night. I actually kind of missed eating steak after seeing how yummy they looked and I do love the smell of steak. If I just didn’t think cows were cute, I may be able to eat steak again.

Janie Great job on AS! One of my first step videos after Basic Step and Low Impact Step! Love it, especially the sneaky little blast at the end. Oh yea, you think LIS won’t be that bad but I think it was just as intense as HIS just not as high as impact or complex choreography. Yea!!! Your toe is healed! You did a fantastic job of not aggravating your toe while it was healing. So admirable!

Pam Great job on Plyo legs disc 29! I totally agree about the 180 turns! I definitely count those down and wish there were a lot less or that we only did one side. But “what you do to one side, you do to the other!” :D I’m glad you didn’t have any damage from the earthquake. As soon as I heard about it, I thought of you and hoped you were ok. I don’t think people in the west coast should be making fun of you for not knowing what an earthquake feels like. I’d like to see them deal with a hurricane or tornado for the first time and see how they like us laughing at them for not knowing what to do or what it feels like. That is very interesting about the animals. I have always heard animals are very instinctual about nature. Like when the Tsunami hit India several years ago, I heard most of the animals were scurrying to higher ground before anyone knew it was coming. Wonder when humans lost that ability to tune into their instincts like that?

Have a great day!

Janie Good job on Athletic Step and walking Rolly. Hearing about all the earthquakes and the one that hit the east coast yesterday has me a little concerned about when we will get ours. I think we have enough in our emergency kit to get us by but you never know until you need it.

Pam Tigger is still on his diet. Believe it or not he is down 1 to 1 1/2 pounds. Now I don't know if that because of all the hair he had shaved off or if it is actual poundage. That is so funny about Butters sleeping on your chest and you not being able to breath. I have no idea on how to get them to respect days off either. They are like little alarm clocks though . The DOMS felt really good. It has been a while since I have had them. I wasn't making fun of you guys on the east coast, it is a scarey thing to go through. I have been through a couple of smaller ones. Animals are able to feel things before we can. If I am home and the cats start acting weird I will know the big one is coming. Red wine would have been great with the steaks but all we had was beer. That went well with it too. Good job on disc 29. I don't like those 180 turns either.

Helen I tried to do P90X but I could never get past the first week. Tony Horton is sooooo annoying and like you the didn't engage me like Cathe's workouts do. Congrats of the 4 pound weight lose. You are right that proper nutrition and hydration are key. It took me a while to get all the abbreviations down. Don't worry you will get it.

Julie The more you do the step work the easier it will get. Once you get it you can leave the workout for a long time and when you do it again the step routine just falls into place. It is like you just did it the week before. Sometimes I think about taking red meat out of my diet too. I try to not think about what it was before I eat it but now sometimes it bothers me.

Eunice Now I know what Tragus means. I thought it was the name of the place you got it done not where on the ear it was done . I learnt something new.

Well today I was not feeling that great. I am still stuffed up and my ears are still plugged. It is going on a week and a half now that I have had this stupid cold. However I still did do Muscle Max. I wasn't feeling really strong so I had to reduce the weights a bit in some of the excerises. I thought that was better than not doing it at all.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

Today was ME and walked Rolly for 30 min. Whew, I can feel the DOM's settling in right away.

Pam, Sounds like you made it through the earthquake. Yea! It's unsettling isn't it? I've been in a number of them, all scary. I can't figure out why in the world you guys had an earthquake though. Is there a fault line there? Strange things happening on earth and very interesting about the animals just before it happened. Wish we had those instincts. Great job on disc 29 plyo legs.

Helen, There are all kinds of earthquakes going on. In Missouri? I thought earthquakes were a West kinda thing. So strange. Love your motivation about this round of STS and making it stick. It's contagious. Congratulations on the 4 pound loss. Yea! Great start.

Julie, I wouldn't know what to do in case of a tornado or hurricane here (PNW). We are not set up for those kinds of storms at all. I feel embarrassed that some people on the West coast could think that you guys having an earthquake was funny. That just blows me away. Great job on DS HIS. Be safe.

Cheryl, I'm on edge too about the earthquakes. Joey and I do have a stash of food and water to hold out for awhile. Hope we don't ever have to use it. But, I know the day is coming. Great job on MM even when you are still feeling sick. Modify is my middle name.LOL:D Give it at least two weeks, and if you are still feeling any more of those symptoms, go see a doctor. OK?

Cheryl I would not be able to sleep in either if I have a 21 pound walking all over me, hahaha!! That is so funny though.. I know the tragus piercing its not a fun one, but I even hold the camera and her hand while recording the whole thing. Good job doing CK hmmm your dinner sounds real good I'll drink beer any time better that wine:p

Janie Good job doing AS and walking Rolly for 30 min. DD got only one ear pierced, I think she was so nervous about it that she didn't even feel the pain. I was more worried than she was, because when she got one of her last shots she fainted.

Pam Well I had to take the day off today because my upper body its pretty sore and I want to do the reps to the max and with soreness its more likely I will drop the weight. But next week I'm going to alternate upper/lower/upper and then take the 3 day rest. Is not that awful:p
OMG I'm so glad you have that big pantry full of food so you don't run out of anything just in case... I know we have to work on that on getting our survival kit. Is not nice of people making fun of you guys, I know how does it feel I have being through so many not fun. I cannot picture you with out electricity for 5 days and going to the Y to get your showers... The piercing is not a cute one is on the cartilage I don't think it'll heal anytime soon and she has to be real careful and clean twice per day. Good job doing plyo legs I think secretly you do love the 180 degree jumps:p you are almost done with STS...yaahooo!!

Hellen Keep up with the good job, I did P90X as my first workout at home ever and if you follow the recipes the workouts you will get awesome results, I did lost a lot of weight doing it and set me ready for Cathe she is the permanent personal trainer I can ever have.

Julie Good job doing HIS from 4DS, I don't know about the tongue pierced I know my DD was so high in adrenalin that she say it didn't hurt during but after she was sore... Did you see that I did copy/paste some of the comments of Jaimie? I was drinking the protein shakes after my weight training but then like 30min latter I would had the meal and I was reading that Jaimie recommends to get the protein from whole foods that would be just as an emergency if you don't get back home on time for your next meal, so after I read that I'm going to minimize me protein shakes to maybe before bed with my schedule my last meal is pretty late I don't want to have a whole meal just 2 hours going to bed but the protein shake its fine.

Cheryl I don't think you can train animals to respect days off, if only I can train my 6 year old DD that would be good, she come in the morning wrapped on her blanket asking me to get up because she is hungry grrrrr  Its so funny that you think that Tony Horton is so annoying I actually think hes funny:eek: I even was thinking about getting the new P90X2 but for that price hmmmmm no thanks.
Hahaha so you saw where the earring is now? Good job doing MM even when you didn't feel up too, I know I'm the same way I can be sick once I even had fever and I did still get my workout until I read that when you are sick and workout its real bad.. then I kind of slowed down a little bit:p

Janie Good job doing ME and walking with Rolly, you are doing real good not missing a day.. good for you!

Since I'm pretty sore and I don't want to mess with my shoulder having to train with sore muscles I wanted to rest and tomorrow do shoulders and core, I took Sam for a long walk and then gave him a good bath then do more cleaning gash you guys would think that my house is the cleanest in the world but is not with 4 girls and hair all over the place and Sam's hair.

Helen The earthquake was definitely weird, but it was so mild here that we really didn't think too much of it. Sometimes when someone is wheeling a cart down the hall the floor kind've shakes and that's what we assumed it was!
Great job on your STS and your 4 pound weight loss. You are right on that proper nutrition is the key. You can wokr out like crazy but if your diet is bad it won't help.
I'm not sure if there are official abbreviations for the Cathe workouts, I just use the first letter of the words in the title.

Julie Great job on HIS and making it through the stop portion without your jaw hitting the floor :D You know, I may hate those 180 degree turns even more than the jeannie hops....hmmmm...have to think about that one! So nice of you to think of us with the earthquake. Crazy stuff. I had forgotten about the animals heading for higher ground before the Tsunami. It really is amazing, I guess we need to pay more attention to what animals are doing huh?

Cheryl How does Tigger like his diet? It's good that he has lost some weight, it must be so hard to make a cat diet, especially when you have more than 1 cat. The earthquake wasn't too scary here, but I'm sure it was for the folks who were closer. I heard that there were a lot of people in the DC and NYC areas that immediately assumed a terror attack. How scary!
I'm sorry to hear that that stinky cold is still hanging in there. I hope you are over it soon. I think that Janie is right that you may need to see a Dr if it doesn't go away on it's own soon. Great job on getting through MM anyway though!

Janie Great job on ME and your walk with Rolly. ME is a tough tough one, I bet you have some great DOMS today!
It was pretty strange about the earthquake and it was amazing how far it was felt up and down the coast! Apparently there is a fault line that they didn't know about. I'm a bit more worried about this hurricane that is bearing down on us now though. Those poor people in the Outer Banks, that is such a fragile area.

Eunice I think you were smart to take the day off while you are sore so that you can give it your all when you do your workouts.
You're right, we will have no concerns about running out of food. I guess we are supposed to be stocking up on water, but I really don't think based on current projections that we will have many issues from the storm - just a lot of rain which we really need. :D I think you are wrong about me secretly loving those 180 degree jumps. I am constantly thinking (ok, 1/5 done, 1/3 done, 2/5 done) until I get to 15. And then of course you know you still have to do the other side. I know, almost done with STS. After meso 2 lasting forever M3 is just flying by! Only 2 more weeks! I need to start thinking about my next rotation.
Oh yes, cleaning is just a never ending job isn't it?! It feels so good for that 5 minutes that it's clean though!

This morning for me was MMA Kickbox. I was thinking about subbing something else but decided to do it since I've only done it a couple of times. It was good, just short. I might add something on when I get home tonight depending on how I feel. Have a great Thrusday/Friday everyone.

Pam

This morning I continued my 4DS extravaganza with Bootcamp. I am so feeling my biceps right now (my triceps a little too). I have a feeling they will be screaming at me tomorrow because I am supposed to go home and weed my overgrown flower bed tonight. Yuck!

Helen So you are enjoying STS more than P90X? I have thought of getting P90X to get DH into working out but I wasn’t sure if he would like it and I wasn’t sure how good it is? I sometimes question Tony Horton’s knowledge. I know he is supposed to be a “Top Trainer” but from what I can tell he doesn’t have any certifications in Exercise.

Cheryl Well I know it was probably tough but good job for doing Muscle Max even though you were still feeling icky. Weight workouts seem to be the better choice when I’m not feeling well. I feel like I can take my time on those if I need to rather than cardio which keeps me moving the whole time.

Janie Great job on ME and your walk! If I remember right, ME is the one with 3 sets of leg presses! Those are certainly glute killers! The Midwest does have a fault line running through New Madrid, MO. Being in Central Illinois, we have been told that if an earthquake hits that fault line not only would we feel it but there could be damage to buildings since our buildings are meant to withstand tornadoes not earthquakes. Most people around here don’t think about carrying earthquake insurance but it is actually a possibility that we would need it. Of course, Helen is closer to that fault line than I am.

Eunice I’m proud of you for taking a rest day for your shoulder. If I remember correctly, Jamie’s plan that you are following showed working out 4 days in a row but I thought I read somewhere on her plan (or maybe it was in the video) that you could switch up the days to what works for you. I saw your post on my FB but I couldn’t really look at them much this morning because I had to leave for work. I’ll try to give them a better look this weekend.

Pam Great job on MMA Kickbox! That is probably my least favorite of the MMA and Cathe Kickboxing and agree it is short and I just don’t feel like it is that intense. I know I definitely hate the 180 degree turns worse than the Jeannie Hops but then again I kind of like those hops. I have a feeling you won’t have to think too hard about your next rotation after STS. Shouldn’t that be right about when the new series comes out?

Have a wonderful day!
