Strength in Numbers

Janie You are getting quite the walking group happening. Eventually the male dog will come with you too but I think it will take him a while.

Julie I have done that premix before in KPC. I like it when I am short on time. Got our stove and it is so much nicer than our old one. It was so funny when the guys were taking our old one out I told them that I had no idea how old it was. One of the guys said well it is probably older than you . I just smiled at him and said I doubt it. I took that as a compliment because I don't think he thought the stove was over 50 years old. Don't worry about the rain we will be taking it back again. It is suppose to rain here every day next week.

This morning I did the CCC Express Circut. We had a window of between 8 - noon for the stove to be delivered and I didn't get up in time to do the whole thing. So I was ready for them by 8 but they didn't show up until almost 11:30. Tomorrow is yoga and then I have to get the grocery shopping done.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Cheryl

Yesterday I took care of one of my grandsons all day. I ate what I wanted and didn't write it down.:( Didn't prepare for that day. Today I'm back on track, but still no exercise during the weekend. We like it like that. So rainy here in the PNW.

Julie, Fantastic job on those Cardios Premixes. And on the the 6 1RM tests and the pushups on toes. I should do more Clean Max too. I will tomorrow. LOL:D;)

Cheryl, I'm frightened of the male dog, but I was frightened of the other two way back when too. Just haven't been able to turn him around yet. Great job on CCC Express Circuit.

Take care,

Janie

Janie I think we all have days were we eat what we want, but you got back on track and that is what is important. Hope you had fun with your grandson. I know what you mean about it being so rainy. I am really tired of it right now. I would be frightened of the male dog too because you don't know what they are thinking. Maybe the other two dogs will turn him around and he will be coming for walks with you too.

This morning was yoga. The instructor was really good, I actually worked up a sweat with the poses she had us doing. Some of them were challenging but that was good. I couldn't hold it for that long or really get into the pose but it will come.

Cheryl

Good afternoon ladies, I am back from the third trip to Pennsylvania in 2 weeks. 60 hours of driving time whew! We ended up driving up early Thursday morning to get there in time for the first visitation on Thursday evening. We were there that night from 4-8, then 2 visitations on Friday and the funeral on Saturday. It was exhausting. I have never seen so many people and so many flowers though. For most of the Friday afternoon visitation there was a line down the hall and out the door of the funeral home! It was pretty amazing. My FIL was in the army so there was also a 21 gun salute at the graveside which was pretty impressive. It was a very emotional and exhausting few days. DH had to go to Vegas for the week so I dropped him at the Pittsburgh airport and then drove the last 7 hours of the trip home by myself. Now I feel like I could sleep for days and am really looking forward to getting back into my routine.
This morning I started Cathe's April rotation with LIC. That was a good way to get back into the swing of things. On Friday morning I went to a kickbox and then scultping class with my SIL. It was fun to do a class with other people again. Other than the step class I did with her last week it had been years since I had done any kind of group class.
It looks like you have all been doing great on your workouts. Janie, I'm so impressed by your walks with the dogs, you have really come a long way there! Cheryl, I would definitely take the comment about the stove as a compliment, you obviously don't look your age! Julie, it sounds like you are making great progress with both your 1 RM tests and your pull ups! Great job. I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Pam

This morning I did the Timesaver Cardio Blast from Drill Max, 5 1RM Tests, and pull-ups: 9, 6, 5, and 19 second negative.

Cheryl Great job on CCC Express Circuit! That one is still a toughie even with only 1 round of each cardio. That was so sweet and cute for that guy to compliment you like that! Little comments like that go a long way. Bummer about the rain coming back. We are in the clear until later this week. Great job on yoga too! Are you excited about Cathe’s upcoming yoga DVD? I have a feeling it will be a good one. :D

Janie No worries on eating what you wanted and not writing it down. One day every now and then will not derail you and it is good for the soul. As long as you get right back to watching/tracking (like you did), you are doing great! ;) Some dogs can be very scary even though most of the time their bark is bigger than their bite; but, it is good to always be cautious and let the dog come to you.

Pam Great job on LIC! That is a good one to get back into the swing of things. I imagine you are physically and emotionally exhausted after the drive and visitation and funeral. The 21-gun salute must have been pretty awe inspiring to experience even if it was for a loved one’s funeral. I am glad to see you are back!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Pam Glad to see you back. It sounds like the 21 gun salute would have been amazing. By the sounds of it your FIL was a very well like man with all the people wanting to come to the visitation. It made me feel really good when the guy made the comment about the stove being older than me. I must have had a very young looking day :D.

Julie You are doing really good with your short cardios and your 1RM tests. You will be ready to go in May. That express circut was still a toughie. The guys comment made an old lady feel good :). I am excited about Cathe's new workouts. I am looking forward to the yoga DVD, I know it will be a good one.

I don't know what it is about Sunday night Monday mornings but I could not sleep last night. I was going to workout tonight but we had an errand to run that I thought wasn't going to take much time (yeah right). Well it took over an hour longer than I thought  and by the time we ate, made lunch for tomorrow and cleaned up I was too pooped.

Try try again tomorrow.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Cheryl

Didn't exercise today. Very much didn't want to. Not because of Joey though. Also I'm so not good with a diet program. I weighed myself this morning and gained 2 pounds, although I wasn't suppose to do that until Thursday. Oh well, bummer and very discouraged.

Joey will be leaving for HI tomorrow for a week. I had my time with a cruise and Disney Land, now it's Joey's turn. Our daughter will pay for everything. Her hubby is still mentally sick and needs a vacation. Asked me if I wanted to go, but told her to take her father instead. He's 73 this year and never know when the next quality time will come her way. I'm so very happy for my Joey.

Cheryl, Great job on the yoga. You are doing very well. Just do the best you can, that's all anyone can do. Including myself.

Pam, Welcome Home! I can only imagine your exhaustion. It sounds like a fantastic funeral for a deserving, impressive and well loved person.:) Makes me wished I'd known him. Good for you to start up a rotation right away. It helps when being so sad that you keep your mind and body busy. Great job on on the Kickbox and sculpting classes. Yes, I am making progress with the dogs, but slowly.:)

Julie, Great job on the Cadio Blast Time saver, the 5 1RM, and the pull- ups. You are great!

Have a terrific evening everyone,

Janie

Julie 19 seconds on your negative! Wow, you are getting there! Keep it up! Great job on the Drill max timesaver and 1 RM tests too! Oh I was SO tired all day yesterday, I felt like I could sleep for about 3 days. I was trying to catch up on my Grey's Anatomy last night but I gave up and went to bed because I just kept falling asleep and then rewinding the same part

Cheryl Yes, my FIL was very well known and loved. He was one of those people that everyone likes so it was nice to see such on outpouring of support.
I think Monday mornings are the hardest too. It's that whole getting back into having to set the alarm clock and getting your head back into working after a couple of days off for me. I always had that same problem when I tired to do my workouts at night, something else often came up and then I didn't get it in. So annoying!

Janie Good for you for taking a day off because you felt like it! Don't fret about those 2 pounds, didn't you just say you had lost 1 last week? So it's really just 1 pound right? I know my weight fluctuates so much from day to day. I have a 4-5 pound window that I try to always stay in. It does feel discouraging when it is at the high end of that range, but unless I do something crazy, it always seems to go down again. Hang in there! Wow, a week in Hawaii sounds wonderful, and it is great for Joey to spend that time with his daughter.

This morning was Hiit DWP for me. The first round seemed like a breeze, but by the end of the second round I was ready for it to be over  I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Pam

This morning I did CTX 10*10*10 Cardio only, 6 1RM tests, and 105 pushups in sets of 45, 30, and 30. I think I might try to do a Stretch Max tonight.

Cheryl I wonder if your not being able to sleep well on Sunday nights is because you are stressed about having the weekend gone and going back to work. I know that stresses me out! :p

Janie Seems like you needed a break so great job on listening to what you need and not working out. Don’t worry about the weight gain. It is probably just water retention. Going to HI sounds wonderful. Joey has a wonderful daughter to pay for his trip. :D

Pam Great job on DWP! I know what you mean on that one. I always tell myself that if I can make it to the middle of round 2 I am home free. Hopefully you will be able to get caught up on your much needed rest in the next day or so.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Janie We all have days like that when we just don't want to exercise me included. Don't worry about it and the two pound weight gain. You will get back into it again. I am assuming that HI stands for Hawaii? Luycky Joey to have his trip paid for. It will be nice for him to go somewhere nice and get out of the rain.

Janie Monday mornings I think are the toughest. Even though I think the evenings would work something always comes up and now that we are getting better weather I know when I get home from work it will take me forever to get in the door because all the neighbours will be out. So somehow I need to make mornings work for me. I like HiiT DWP but I know what you mean about that second round.

Julie I don't feel stressed about going to work but maybe I am and just don't realize it. I think I need a vacation as well but that is still several months away.

I was going to do HiiT 30/30 tonight even though I had a dr.'s appointment as it is only 25 minutes long. Well during the day a got the flashing lights in my eyes and that did me in for the rest of the day. I have been getting this for a while now and the dr said that it is a migraine even though I don't really get a headache afterwards I just feel fuzzy in the head and tired. Another reason to make an effort to do my workouts in the mornings too.

Oh well, have a great Wednesday.

Cheryl

I just realized that I had not posted yet today, I thought I already had!

Julie Great job on 10*10*10 Cardio only, 6 1RM tests, and 105 pushups!!!! It sounds like you could USE Stretch Max tonight! You also reminded me that I need to get back to those push ups. Ugh, not looking forward to that at all!
I felt pretty good all day yesterday but today I am really tired again  My DH is in Vegas all week and I don't usually sleep very well when he is out of town so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Plus the cats are all over me since we've been gone so much the past couple of weeks

Cheryl I know what you mean about things coming up after work. For me it was either that or I would just be so tired after work that I couldn't talk myself into doing anything. In the moring if I get up and just do it sometimes I don't realize how tired I am until after my workout is done! It can make the work day tough to get through though! Those flashing lights in your eyes don't sound good! It's weird that it would be a migraine with no pain?! I've never heard of that. I guess it's good that you don't have the pain, but feeling fuzzy and tired is no fun either. :( Sorry to hear that is happening to you!

This morning for me was Circuit Blast. It's pretty good! I think I had only done it once before. It's a good workout but not the killer that some of the others are. It made me wonder why I haven't done it more. I guess just because it hasn't been in the rotations I've been selecting. I hope everyone is having/has a great Wednesday. Mine is half over, so halfway through the week!

Pam

Last night I got my Stretch Max in and it felt really good. This morning I ran 3 miles and then did 7 1RM tests.

Cheryl The flashing lights in your eyes sounds scary. I hope everything is ok. I have what they call “floaters” in my eyes. I don’t notice them all the time but sometimes it just looks like little bubbles floating around. Kind of enchanting! I hear you on the vacation thing. I don’t have any planned so I can’t even look forward to time off. :(

Pam Great job on Circuit Blast! I have only done the cardio only premix and thought the cardio was fun but the premix was too short. I have never done the full thing but often wondered if it what was really effective with being so short. That is so cute that the cats missed you. I remember when my DH switched to 3rd shift, I had the hardest time sleeping. After a few weeks I got used to it. Then when he switched back to 1st shift, I had problems sleeping again because now I wasn’t used to him being in the bed with me. :p

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Pam I have to really get myself back into the morning workouts but it has been hard. Today the hockey playoffs have started and if I want to watch our Canucks that means I won't be going to bed until at least 10:00 some nights so I know I won't be able to get up early to workout. My doctor said that the flashing lights with no headache after was very common. I seem to be getting them more frequently with this new job I have .
Good job on Circut Blast. I find it to be a nice steady workout.

Julie Good job on your 3 mile run and getting Stretch Max in last night. I find the flashing lights to be more annoying that scary. I have those floaters too, they can be kinda enchanting .

Tonight I did HiiT 30/30. It felt good to get back to it. We are watching our Vancouver Canucks play the Chicago Blackhawks and in the first period we are leading 2 - 0. I really hope we beat them this year, the Blackhawks have ended our Stanley Cup run for the last two years........so this is OUR YEAR :D. Canuck fever has hit the streets here, they were giving out towels with the Canucks logo (I got mine) and a lot of people were wearing their Canuck jerseys.

Have a great Thursday everyone.

Cheryl

Been keeping myself very busy without my Joey here. Making Christmas jewelry, shopping for healthy foods, and playing games on my computer. Today I did MM. I love that one.

Pam, It seems I'm always at least 5 to 10 pounds where I don't want to be. Oh well, I guess I need to except that. I know I'm healthy, so I should be grateful for that. I'm having the same problem. Thought I posted yesterday, but I didn't. I'm glad I'm not alone. Great job on CB.

Julie, Great job on CTX 10-10-10. I love that one! Also the 1RM's and OMG! The 105 pushups on toes. That is awesome! Also for todays, stretch and the 3 mile run, (wow) and the 1RM tests.

Cheryl, Oh my. Flashing lights? That's got to be scary for you. You poor thing, hang in there sweetie. Great job on today's HiiT 30/30. I bet it did feel good to get back in the swing of things.

See ya all tomorrow,

Janie

Julie Good for you for doing your stretch max and great job on the 3 mile run and 1 RM tests. Those 1 RM tests seem to go on forever, don't they?!
I'm wondering what the cardio only pre-mix for Circuit Blast is because it seemed like the whole thing was cardio?! I guess there were some strength moves mixed in, but the cardio kept going through the whole thing. Hmmmm..
It's cute but also a little bit annoying that the cats missed us so much. DH will be home tomorrow night though so it will be his turn then! ;) Shorty really prefers him, but I'll do when he isn't around!

Cheryl I know what you mean, it is so hard balancing life, work and workouts isn't it?! It will be so much easier when we retire! At least that's what I think now, I'm sure that once I'm retired there will be other things getting in the way! I have not been keeping up with hockey at all, but it must be getting close to play off time?
Is your new job more stressful than your old one? Maybe that is why you are getting the headaches more frequently? I guess I would prefer the flashing lights to the headaches. I started getting migraines a couple of years ago. Part of the whole perimenapausal (sp?) thing. Joy.
Great job on 30/30. I love tha tone!

Janie Good for you keeping yourself busy. I enjoy some time on my own to do some of those things that I like to do. As long as it isn't TOO often. Great job on MM, that is an awesome one!
I know what you mean about those 5-10 pounds. We should all be grateful for being healthy, and I definitely am, but there is always that 'ideal' weight that we want to be isn't there?

This morning I did KPC. Still not a big kickboxing fan, but I don't mind it every so often. I like the ab work in this one too. It has the blasted pikes, but a reasonable number that I can do all of. I always feel discouraged when there are tons of pikes and I can't make it through them. Have a great Thursday everyone!

Pam

This morning I did CTX All Step Cardio Only and 6 1RM Tests.

Cheryl Great job on HiiT 30/30! Give it time and before you know it you will be back in the swing of things! Jason was watching the Red Wing/Coyote game last night but of course since we go to bed around 7:30, he couldn’t watch the whole thing! I’ll be routing for your Canucks for you since Jason doesn’t really have a favorite hockey team.

Janie Great job on MM! That is such a good total body workout. I have to say I am not too impressed with the CTX cardio. I love Leaner Legs and the Upper Body Split segments but the cardio segments are a little too dancy or need more room than I have for me to really get into them. Maybe it just takes time.

Pam Great job on KPC! I agree on this one having the perfect number of pikes. I feel great getting through them but then struggle on Pyramid Upper Body because there are a lot more in that one. Shorty sounds like Oscar. Oscar is a daddy’s boy but will settle for me when he is not there.

Have a wonderful Thursday!

As creative as I can be, the Christmas jewelry is so unique. I seem to want most of them for myself. Ideas keep coming and then of course I have to make them ASAP. The more I do these the more eccentric I become. LOL:eek:.

Today was rain, rain, rain. How can one garden with weather like this? The treadmill was an alternative for walking outside. Was on it for 30 min.

Pam, Great job on on KPC.

Julie, I love dancing a lot, so the dancy cardio segments is my cup of tea. It's not for everyone to be sure. Terrific job on the CTX All Step Cardio and the 1RM tests.

Have a good one everyone,

Janie

Jaine Wow you are thinking ahead and making Christmas jewelry. I guess with all the rain we are having there isn't much else to do is there. It was so cold here today that at the higher elevations there was snow . It's the middle of April and we are still getting snow!!!!!

Pam It is hard doing that work life balance and fitting in the workouts. I can hardly wait until I retire. I still may do something but I am sure not going to do the daily commute. Something close to home would be great. I don't think my new job is more stressful. Could be old age .

Julie Thanks for routing for my Canucks. I am hoping that they go all the way and win the cup this time. They did beat the Blackhawks 2-0 so we are off to a good start.

Well I was tired today along with a lot of other people who watched the hockey game last night :). I thought I could do a workout tonight but I was way too tired and all this rain is not helping. I did do the 1st segment of stretch max though. I am going to try to do one tomorrow morning because the Canucks play again tomorrow night and I will want to watch the game not workout.

TGIF

Cheryl

Julie Great jo bon CTX All Step cardio and your 1 RM tests. I really like All Step, but it is just too short! I usually repeat the end of it a couple of times to get a little more cardio when I do it. I think I would do it more oftern if it weren't for that.
Well after saying Shorty would be all over Doug last night we went to bed and he was nowhere to be seen. When he still wasn't around this morning we knew something was up. At night he sometimes gets wild and goes charging up the stairs. Well, he did that last night while we were eating dinner. I guess when the kids went to bed he was in the bonus room and they closed the door so Shorty spent the night in there. I opened the door this morning to go in and do my workout and he came charging out.

Janie OK, we need to see pictures of that Christmas jewelsry! I understand what you man about wanting to keep most of them for yourself too! By the way, I am wearing the set that you made me today, so I will be thinking about you all day!
Sorry you are having such lousy weather :( Hopefully you'll get to do your gardening soon. I was hoping to get some yard work done tomorrow but it is supposed to be really nasty here all day. Hopefully they are wrong about that though! Good for you for getting in your treadmill time though!

Cheryl Snow?! in the middle of April?! That is just wrong!
I'm with you on the retirement thing. I'm not ready to retire completely, but I would like to do something part time and more fun. Maybe some volunteer work....
Too bad you weren't able to get your workout in last night but great job for stretching anyway! I hope you were able to get your workout in this morning!
Good luck to the Canucks tonight!

This morning was CCC for me. Always a toughie and I'm always so happy to get past those drop roll, spring ups! Happy Friday! We're going to see Neal Young tonight, looking forward to that!

Pam

This morning I did CTX Step & Intervals Cardio Only, 5 1RM Tests, and band-assisted pull-ups: 11, 7, 6, and a 21 second negative. My negative is improving which is a good thing!!

Janie Great job on the 30 min. treadmill work out! I enjoyed today’s CTX cardio better. Of course it is more athletic which I am much more comfortable with. Guess that’s the good thing about Cathe; she has a little bit of everything for everyone’s taste and to try to get others to try something new. I have been wearing your jewelry every day to work since you were generous enough to give it to me. It always reminds me of you. Hopefully you can get to gardening soon.

Cheryl Great job on getting a SM segment in! I kind of view those as little yoga segments and they can be nice little standalone workouts. Hopefully you got your workout in this morning and it helped energize you enough to watch the Canucks beat the Blackhawks again! I told Jason I was rooting for the Canucks and he told me he would be ok with that but he kind of wanted the Blackhawks to win. He said he normally doesn’t have a favorite but if a team close to home is in it, he roots for them. If the Canucks beat the Blackhawks he said he will root for them.

Pam Great job on CCC! Love/hate those drop roll spring up thingies. I would love them more if I could actually do them. That’s too cute about Shorty being in timeout all night. I bet he was glad to be let out of jail this morning. I assume he was good and didn’t do any damage. I know our dogs would have tried to dig their way out. Have a good time tonight at the concert!

Have a most wonderful Friday!
