Strength in Numbers

Didn't do to much today, hot tubbing and other fun stuff. Almost went to take Rolly for a walk, but by the time I was ready, it was pouring rain. :(

Cheryl, Great job on S&H Shoulders. You are doing such a good job.

Pam, Kitties and their personalities are so adorable.:) Great job on CCC/ So sorry about your FIL. I'm glad you are going to see him. I bet it will mean a lot to him. (((((hugs and prayers your way and your FIL's))))) See you when you get back.

Julie, Great job on your bonus burn, the band seg. and this mornings pull ups. You are improving still. And the bonus burn and Kick Max. I'd be tired as well if I had all those exercises to do all at once. You did it! I'm taking today off, just because I think my body is telling me to.

Janie

This morning I did Body Max 2 and then my bonus burn. I was going to do the bb later but was worried I'd poop out after cleaning the house like a mad woman. I'm glad it is out of the way but man it was tough doing it right after BM2.

Janie Hot tubbing sounds like fun to me and I bet you burned more calories in there than sitting down watching TV! ;) Great job for respecting and listening to your body and resting.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Pam Julie's spreadsheet sounds like a good idea. I hate it when I am not sure what weight I should be using. So sorry to hear about your FIL {{{HUGS}}}. It will cheer him up to have you come and visit him. Post when you get back and let us know how you are doing.

Julie Great job on your bonus burn and and Kick Max. I do find that I am stronger in the afternoon than I am in the mornings. I am thinking on how to change up my routine. I might change to do my weight work in the afternoon instead of trying to do it in the mornings and concentrate on cardio in the morning.

Janie Hot tubbing would be nice. Too bad that it rained so you couldn't take Rolly out. It has been really nice here the past couple of days.

I did S&H Biceps and Triceps this morning. I was going to do CCC yesterday morning but I think I am fighting something off because I was not feeling that great. Hopefully I can get back on track next week.

Cheryl

I'm leaving today for my sisters in Yakima Valley area. Don't think I will have access with the computer or not.

Will be back next Sunday for sure.

Proud of you all with all your exercises and kind hearts.

See you all then,

Janie

Janie Enjoy your visit with your sister and have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY on Friday.

Did yoga today and it felt really good. Hard to believe that the weekend is over already.

Have a great Monday.

Cheryl

Yesterday was lazy day Sunday and it felt really nice! Today it’s back to the grindstone! I did Butts & Guts this morning. I will do pull-ups and my bonus burn this afternoon. I think I should have done some stretching yesterday because my left quad is feeling really tight and it hurt a little doing the one-legged squats. I might have to use the foam roller on it tonight!

Cheryl Great job on S&H Bis and Tris! Hopefully you are not coming down with something. Maybe doing yoga on Sunday will help fend off whatever is starting in on you.

Janie Hope you have a good time with your sisters! Have a wonderful birthday as well!

Happy Monday!

Julie Looks like it is just you and me for a few days until Pam gets back. Lazy days are nice and you need them every once in a while. I haven't done Butts & Guts for a while. Maybe I should look at doing it this week. How is your quad feeling today? I don't know why I am having so much trouble getting up in the morning. It never used to be this way I could always get up early and exercise. I have been struggling with this for quite a while now. It is fustrating because I want to work out in the morning and if I do manage it and do it first thing I don't feel energized at all. All I can think about is going to bed because I am just dragging my butt all day .
So I did the Intensity premix with the Step, Hiit Low and Bootcamp this evening. I could really put more into it so I will see how it goes doing it in the evenings. It will be really hard when it get warm out, I really won't want to do it then. Maybe I could then try mornings again and see how it goes.

Have a great Tuesday.

Cheryl

Cheryl Yep, looks like it is just the two of us for a day or so. Great job on getting the Intensity premix in last night! I did the boot camp add on a few weeks ago and thought it was just great. That was until it got to the pushups at the very end. Crazy! My quad is doing much better today. Still a little sore but I was actually able to do lunges without wincing. Foam rollers are so awesome for helping work out little issues like that. B&G really did my glutes in though! I haven't had DOMS like this in quite some time. Wonder how I can work the foam roller on my behind! :p I am sorry you are struggling with getting up in the morning for workouts. Maybe you will have better luck once the weather is warmer and it is lighter out earlier. The only other thing I can think of that might help is to have one of those programmable coffee makers that brews the coffee just a minute or so before your alarm goes off. The smell of coffee always energizes me even if I don't drink any. This morning I was driving in to work in the pitch dark with 30 degree F temps. I guess it isn't quite Spring yet here!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Julie Those push ups at the end are crazy. I used to have a programmable coffee maker but I got rid of it about a month ago and bought a Kuerig. I love it, you just need to pop in the K cup and there you go. You don't have to worry about measuring anything. I do love the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Maybe I can try getting up early and make some coffee and sit in front on my Daylight and see if that helps with getting me going. Something is going to have to work  because I really don't like doing it in the evenings. Tonight I did Push Pull it was an easy workout. Yuck 30 degrees that is cold, at least we got up to 50 degrees today. It is still dark when I go to work too but at least by the time I get downtown it is daylight. You are right it isn't quite Spring yet, even though it isn't as cold here it is raining a lot and that does get to you after a while.

Have a great Wednesday

Cheryl

Hi ladies,

I'm back for a little while anyway. I haven't done a workout since we left on Friday so it felt good to get up and do one today. You guys are all doing great with your exercises! Janie, I hope you have a happy happy birthday!
I have put my birthday on hold, so I guess I will be 49 longer, right? ;)
My FIL is not doing well at all. We were really not prepared for how bad he was, especially since DH had just seen him 3 weeks ago. He has had to have fluid drained from his stomach 3 times now, 2-3 liters worth of fluid each time. He is hardly eating at all and went back to the hospital by ambulance on Monday morning. Now he has an infection and also a blood clot in his leg. We came home last night with a plan to get the kids and take them up to see him this weekend while he is still fairly alert. He was supposed to start chemo tomorrow but because of the infection they have to wait. The chemo will hopefully slow the growth of the tumors which should slow down the fluid production
On a much lighter note, I did the Hardcore Extreme Interval circuit this morning. It felt good to do a tough Cathe workout! It was so cold in Pennsylvania, 16 degrees the first night!!! It was nice to come back to flowers, blooming trees and spring here! Have a good Wednesday ladies!

Pam

I almost overslept this morning. DH has been getting up about an hour or two before every day for the past 3 months. Last night he told me he was going to get up at the same time as me (as if I would remember that after sleeping!). So the alarm goes off, and I think “yea another hour to sleep”. DH gets up and proceeds to be loud about getting ready and leaving lights on. After 15 minutes of my cursing him under my breath for being inconsiderate, he finally says, “are you getting up?” I said “no, I still have an hour to sleep.” Then I looked at the clock and realized I had forgotten he was waking up with me this morning . Thank goodness for DH this morning or I would have missed out on Low Max!

Cheryl Great job on Push Pull! I have never done that workout as designed but I did an upper body premix a few months ago that repeated each exercise 3 times. That was tough! I hope trying the coffee and daylight work for you. The weather here is starting to warm up. Even though we got snow flurries yesterday morning (they didn’t stick luckily), it is supposed to reach 50 today!!!

Pam Great job on HCE Interval Circuit! That one is fun and tough! I am so sorry that your FIL isn’t doing well. :( It is terrible how cancer can completely change someone for the worse in so little time. It must be an aggressive form if they are having to drain his stomach so much and so often. Hopefully he can start to get better for the weekend when you bring your kids up to see him. It is so tough to see someone you love in that state but it makes you appreciate every moment you have with them even more. {{{{HUGS}}}} to you and your family.

Have a good Wednesday!

Pam Sorry that your FIL is doing so bad. It is scary on how fast someone can age when they get sick. Hopefully they don't have to wait too long to start the chemo and your kids can get in to see him soon.
Good job on Hardcore Extreme, when you are stressed sometimes a tough workout is just the thing that you need.

Julie Too funny about your husband leaving the lights on. At least you still were able to get your workout it. The coffee and the daylight did work for me this morning. I will need to keep it up for a while to know this will work for every morning. So after having my coffee and sitting in front of the daylight for about 10 minutes I went to my workout room and did MMA Fusion. Yuck snow flurries, at least it got up to 50 degrees for you today. It was about that for us today too but instead of snow flurries it rained like mad.

Have a great Thursday everyone.

Cheryl

Last night I did some pull-ups: 9, 7, 5, and a 16 second negative. I increased my reps but nothing on my negative yet. I also did my bonus burn last night and a Stretch Max segment. This morning I did Imax 2 and my bonus burn. I am scheduled to donate blood after work tonight so I had to get that bonus burn out of the way.

Cheryl Great job on MMA Fusion! That is a pretty fun workout. I am glad the coffee and daylight helped. Hopefully it will continue to do the trick for you. I am sick of the cold and lousy weather much like you are. Raining all the time would be just as back as it being cold all the time. Tomorrow is the first day of April and it better start acting like Spring!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Julie Good job on the pull ups. Good thing you got your bonus burn out of the way this morning since you really won't have the energy after you donate blood. The coffee and daylight seem to be working. I will try again for tomorrow morning. Usually I can only do two days in a row early so I hope I can get up to three :D.

This morning was Butts and Gutts the Standing Glutes and Ab timesaver. I enjoyed it since it had been a long time since I had done this workout. It seems that with doing the coffee thing first thing in the morning I can only do workouts that are about 50 minutes in length. If this works out I can look at adjusting my wake up time by 5 minutes at a time till I am able to work out for an hour.

Yippee tomorrow is Friday!!!!!

Cheryl

This morning I did my bonus burn because quite frankly it is getting old! I only have one more day of doing the bonus burn and then I am done! I also did KPC which was so much fun and to my extreme surprise, I was able to do all the pikes during the ab work!!! I will be doing some pull-ups tonight when I get home.

Cheryl Great job on B&G premix! Hopefully the coffee and daylight did the trick again this morning. I was thinking this morning that another thing I find helpful for waking me up is brushing my teeth right away. Something about the peppermint taste and smell of the toothpaste help to instill that “well, you’re up might as well get your day on” feeling.

Happy Friday!

Julie KPC is a fun workout. Good for you in doing all the pikes on the ball. You feel so strong when you can do them and your arms don't give out. Nice that you are almost done your bonus burn, I would get bored if I was doing the same thing day after day too. But I hope you do see some improvement after doing it for all this time. It was tough getting up this morning but I did it and then I did Step Moves. I am really tired right now though, but 7:30 is too early for bed, especially on a Friday night . Brushing my teeth would probably work too but I hate to drink coffee right afterwards since it makes the coffee taste funny.

Have a great Saturday.

Cheryl

I didn't get my pull-ups in last night because I had to run errands unexpectantly but I did do them first thing this morning. I increased my reps by 1 on the first set and increased my negative time by 5 seconds! After I did my pull-ups, I did my very last bonus burn!!!!!!:D:eek: Then I did Cardio & Weights! So much fun!

Cheryl Three days in row gettng up early to workout is great! Great job on Step Moves. I haven't done that one yet but do have it. I agree that brushing your teeth and then drinking coffee is not a good idea! The bonus burn was nice and I really think it helped with triceps dips and reverse lunges. I felt like I really improved my form but I cannot say I will miss doing the bb every day.

Better get going on cleaning house now!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Tried to do Circut Blast yesterday morning but I was so tired that I decided to take the day off. I am really tired today too and I don't know if it is because I was getting up early last week or something else. It is really fustrating since I have no energy to do anything. I did manage to go to yoga this morning but I had no strength and my balance was really off .

Julie Yippee your bonus burn is done!!!!! Cardio and Weights is a fun workout. Maybe next week I will try taking Wednesday off to see if it makes a difference in how tired I am. I think the three days in a row did me in :(.

Pam Janie I hope both of you enjoyed your birthdays this weekend.

Cheryl

Hi All,

Sure did miss everyone and so glad to be back home! There is no place like home for sure.

Enjoyed my beautiful family and got lots of gifts. Kindle, hair pieces, one of my sisters gave me all kinds of info on Weight Watchers Plus, and gave me a tracker, pocket guide and a calculator. I guess I'll be watching what I eat tomorrow and the coming days. Looking forward to it. Also got a $100.00 gift certificate at Amazon.com from my son. I'll be getting all kinds of books for the Kindle. A scheduled dinner at the top of the Space Needle, a day at the spa for anything I might want (message, pedicure,...) Talk about a spoiled 60 year old. I'm so very grateful.

I've read everyone's posts and now in sync.

Have a plan for exercising with Joey tomorrow using heavy weight. I've missed my Joey and our workouts together so much.

Janie

Good morning ladies.
Janie It sounds like you had a really nice birthday! How wonderful! I've been thinking about getting a kindle too, can't wait to hear how you like it. It seems like everyone I know who has one loves it.

We ended up being home less than 24 hours last week. Wednesday night we got a call from one of DHs brothers saying that they didn't expect his dad to last more than 2 days, so we loaded everyone in the car and headed out that night, drove all night and got to PA at about 4:30 in the morning. His dad decided on Thursday that he didn't want to do chemo and wanted to go home, so we brought him home that night. Once he got home he seemed to pep up quite a bit. He still knows everyone but now spends most of his time asleep and can no longer get out of bed. :( We decided to come home yesterday since the kids needed to get back to school. Everyone got the chance to say goodbye and my DH feels a lot better because he saw that his dad is totally at peace with what is happening.

On a lighter note, I went to a very fun step class with my SIL on Saturday. It felt great to get out and get some exercise in. This morning I did the step and intervals from Body Max. I need to get a new rotation on the calendar! I think I may do Cathe's April rotation as it looked pretty good. What is everyone else doing rotation wise?

Pam
