Strength in Numbers

I dispise the time change. I don't understand it at all. That one hour throws me off for at least a week. To top it off it was so windy and rainy last night it kept me up I am soooo tired right now. It rained so much that our road looked like a river and to top it off it was dark again going to work this morning . I tried to do Cardio and Weights but I was so tired I couldn't get past the warm up so I went back to bed :(

Pam Good for you that you can get your legs off the ground on those hover things. Who cares that it is only for a few seconds you can do it and that is what counts. I figured Butters was cold. It takes them a while to get used to not having all that fur. At least it is getting warm where you are so he may get used to it soon. We can't do anything outside yet. All this rain is really getting depressing, it is not suppose to let up any time soon.

Julie At least you did end up spending any money on the yoga DVD. I haven't heard of Shiva Rea but let me know what you think of it. I haven't tried the bootcamp bonus yet. I keep on forgetting about it. Maybe next time I do it I will remember. I wish they would leave the time alone too, and everyone else I talk to. Saskatchewan is the only province here that does not do the time change, I wish we would follow suit.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Cheryl

I did MM yesterday and the Wedding Video today. I had my daughter and grandson over so wasn't able to get on the computer.

We are having a very large rain storm and already lost a huge post from another thread. I don't want it to happen again, so just know I've read all your posts and cheering everyone on, in sickness and in health...Oh, that sounds familiar, lOL:rolleyes::D:rolleyes: Well you get the jest of it.

Just know I care,

Janie

Last night I did my pull-ups: 6 band-assisted, 4 baby pull-ups (with rests in between each one), 5 band-assisted, 5 baby pull-ups (with rests in between each one), 1 max hang, and for kicks I added on another set of band-assisted to failure which was only 5. Then I got really crazy and tried doing a chin-up since they are supposed to be easier. Yeah right!

Then I did my bonus burn. You are supposed to do all four exercises back-to-back as quick as possible. Normally, that is no problem but last night I was halfway through the second exercise of tricep dips and the doorbell rang. I finished my dips and then went down and the neighbor kids kicked their ball into my backyard so I had to run around the house, get the ball and give it back to them. During that time, both my dogs were in the backyard and they started barking and running around like crazy so I had to wrestle them back into the house so they wouldn’t bother the kids. Then I could finally finish the reverse lunges and crunches. So I guess I got a little cardio in bonus burn!

This morning I did Maximum Intensity Cardio and am happy to report that I survived! :D I will do my bonus burn tonight.

Cheryl Yes that time change screws everyone up for days/weeks! I hate that I am driving into work in the dark again. It was just getting light out on my drive last Friday and then boom Monday comes and I am in the dark again. I believe Arizona is our only state (maybe Hawaii and Alaska) that don’t do the time change and I agree we should all follow them, they are the smart ones! So sorry you are still feeling the effects and can’t get good sleep. Hopefully things will turn around soon when the weather starts warming up and it stops raining so much.

Janie Great job on MM (such a goodie ) and the Wedding Video! Hopefully you enjoyed having your daughter and grandson come visit you and got to spend quality time together. From the looks of it, you probably didn’t go outside with them. Hopefully the rain will let up soon as I imagine Rolly isn’t liking it either!

Pam I have to leave work so I’ll catch up with you tomorrow.

Have a very wonderful Tuesday!

Didn't do anything this morning. I am still having a problem with the time change. I am so tired it is hard just getting out of bed right now. I have been making myself walk from the train station to my office building but that is hard. My legs feel like they are made out of lead and it is taking me longer to walk there than normal :(.

Janie Good job on MM and the Wedding Video. Oh I hate that when you lose a thread. It has happened to me a couple of times. The rain is horrible, I am so tired of it. I think that is making the time change harder because it is so dreary out.

Julie Good job on your challenges and bonus burn, including your not scheduled cardio burn. MIC is a good cardio workout, another one I should look at pulling out again. I wish we never had to do the time change and I hate having to go to work in the dark again. I agree that all the places that don't do it are the smart ones. The rain isn't going to stop any time soon. According to the weather report we may get a break on Sunday, but that is subject to change.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

Last night I did my bonus burn and no doorbell ring in the middle! This morning I ran 3 miles and then did Muscle Endurance. My legs are fried from all the leg presses and those crazy no weight glute raises! Ouch!! Tonight will be another round of pull-ups and my bonus burn.

Cheryl I’m so sorry you are having problems working out but getting those walks in from the train station to your office building still count. I hope things start turning around soon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

The sun is trying to come out today. If it stays like this, then Rolly and I will take a long walk. If not then I'll do a cardio later today. In the meantime, I used our Smith Machine and did a full body workout this morning. Using 3 sets of everything with as heavy as weight that I could muster up. It was great! I haven't gotten dressed for two days. I decided to put some clothes on, a little make up and some jewelry on. It's a good day.:D

Julie, You did so well with your challenges. Keep trying for that pull up, you will get there. I am so proud of you. Great job on your bonus burn and the cardio burn. LOL:D These things happen at the most inconvenient times. don't they? Great job on this mornings MIC.

Cheryl, So sorry you are having problems with the time change. Try to keep going, at least you got some walking in. That should help a lot. It shouldn't take to much longer and you will get used to it. Hang in there. I think we need sunshine!

Julie, Great job on uninterrupted bonus burn and running 3 miles.:D Whew! Also a great job on ME.

Have a really nice day everyone,

Janie

Feeling a bit more awake this morning but by this afternoon I was really tired. I will take one more day off and then try to workout on Friday. I took it off so it should be fine. On the bright side I didn't have to pull my umbrella out today so that was good. It really rained last night and we had some thunder, it is suppose to do the same thing tonight.

Julie Good job on your bonus burns. Don't those glute raises get you. It is suprising what using no weight will do.

Janie Hopefully you got your walk in with Rolly. It didn't rain here during the day which was nice for a change. It seems the older I get the harder the time change is. I think you are right we really do need some sunshine.

Happy Thursday.

Cheryl

I did a little bit on the mini trampoline tonight. About 20 min. It was fun.:D

Cheryl, We had rain when I was ready to go out walking, so Rolly and I stayed in. I did play a long time chasing and retrieving the BALL. He loves that game. I'm glad your day started out better. Get some rest (hopefully the storm won't be loud for ya) and have a wonderful day tomorrow.:)

Good night everyone, and have a pleasant evening,

Janie

Did my pull-ups last night: 6 band-assisted, 5 baby with short rests in between, 6 band-assisted, 5 baby with short rests in between, and 1 max hang. Something might be happening because the first couple of baby pull-ups I was able to lower myself farther down and I seemed to not struggle as much pulling myself up!!! I also did my bonus burn and then because it was a heat wave (67 F), DH and I took the dogs on a very short walk. I think they were in heaven!

This morning I almost thought I wouldn’t be able to workout. I had 4DS Power Cardio Premix on schedule and at first I couldn’t get the DVD to play in the DVD player or my laptop. I was starting to run out of time and getting very frustrated. Then I cleaned the DVD player with one of those cleaning discs and finally my workout played! Whew!! I had to do my bonus burn this morning because I have a dentist appointment after work.

Janie Great job on your heavy duty weight workout! Sounds like you worked yourself good and hard! Sorry you couldn’t get your walk in but sounds like you had fun with Rolly anyway. Oh! To be able to not get dressed for a day a two sounds so good to me right now. I am in dire need of time off from work but probably won’t be able to until May or June! :(

Cheryl Glad you are starting to feel a little better. Hopefully having today off will help even more. Plus seeing the sun is always a good thing. I swear no weight exercises are almost harder than weighted exercises. Like in Butts & Guts when you do the lunge squat combo, all I can think of is “Is this the last se yet?” Boy do those burn! :p

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Hi ladies, Happy St Patrick's Day! Just a quick check in from beautiful Hilton Head Island. We are having a great little ladies get away. Tuesday morning I did SJP before we left, then yesterday morning went to the gym and did 45 minutes on the elliptical and then a 13.4 mile bike ride. This place is just so great for bike riding because they have bike paths everywhere. Today we are going on another big bike ride. The afternoons are reserved for lounging by the pool! I hope you are having a great week!

Pam

Feeling back to normal today. I am really missing the workouts, but I will do one tomorrow morning.

Janie Too bad you didn't get your walk in but at least you got to play with Rolly. Hopefully you can get out soon to go walking.

Julie Sounds like you are getting stronger with your pull ups. A heat wave haha after all the cold weather 67 F would feel like a heat wave. I hate it when you can't get your disk to play. At least you found out what was wrong in time. I hope having tomorrow off will get me back to normal, and yes the sun does help. When it is cloudy and rainy for weeks on end it does get to you.

Pam Glad you are having fun with your friends. Enjoy your time away and lounging by the pool.

Happy Friday.

Cheryl

Did Rhythmic Step today. I modified. Had to.

Julie, You are doing very well on those Challenge Pull Ups. Yeah, it sounds like you may be able to do one soon. Great job on those bonus burns too. Whew! And your walk with the doggies. Envious of that nice weather. For today great job on 4DS and bonus burn yet again. How are ya feeling? Whew!

Pam, Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too. :D Great job on Tues. with SJP and yesterdays the eliptical and the...What? 13.4 mile bike ride? You are full of energy! Good for you. Enjoy your pool lounging. Sounds like heaven.:D

Cheryl, So glad you are finely feeling better. Back to the old grind tomorrow, good for you.

Have a really great evening everyone,

Janie

This morning I did High Step Challenge. It went by so fast and to my surprise I was able to increase my weight on the overhand barbell rows. Maybe all those pull-ups are doing something! I will be doing my pull-up challenge tonight and my bonus burn when I get home.

Pam I am glad you are having a good time on your vacation! And being able to get enjoyable activities like bike riding is in a great thing to do on vacation. Try not to think of us braving the colder, rainier elements while you are lounging by the pool!

Cheryl Glad to see you are feeling normal again. Sometimes it just takes awhile to get back into the groove of things. The heat wave didn’t last long. It is back to upper 50s and partly cloudy for the next several days. Thunderstorms are also on tap for the next several nights. My poor baby Maggie is going to hate it. She is afraid of thunder and hides under our computer desk at the slightest hint of a thunderstorm. :(

Janie Ooo! Rhythmic Step is so much fun! I have that on my rotation to do tomorrow and I am so looking forward to it. Don’t be too jealous of the weather. We are back into the 50s, cloudy, and possible thunderstorms the next few days/nights. It is crazy but I thought this rotation would be a killer rotation. It is hard but I am hanging in there. I think the January rotation from this year was harder  and maybe since I just did that it is helping me get through this one.

Have a most wonderful Friday!!

This morning was Cardio and Weights. It felt good to get moving again. Then I got all the housework done and also did some running around.

Janie Good job on Rhythmic Step, don't worry that you had to modify.
Yep I am back to the grind. I really did miss my workouts.

Julie Maybe all those pull ups did help you increase your weight on your overhand barbell rows. Good for you. It now takes me a while to get back to normal. It never used to, but it seems the older I get the harder some things get . I hope that the thunder isn't too bad for Maggie. We are lucky with our cats, thunder and lighting doesn't bother them at all.

Pam Hope you are still having fun lying by the pool.

Happy Saturday.

Cheryl

Did a full body workout with weight today. Yes!

Julie, Great job on HSC and for adding extra weight with the workout. You are getting stronger as we speak. I think also, you had such a hard rotation the last time around, this rotation you are stronger, so it might be just that. I'm am so very proud of you.

Cheryl, Great job on C&W. I love that one. I must do that the next time. Also on CleanMax. I need to do that as well. Oh, also the running around. That sounds like fun.:)

Have a great evening everyone,

Janie

Did pull-ups last night: 7 band-assisted, 7 baby, 6 band-assisted, 6 baby, and 1 max hang. Then I did my bonus burn. This morning I ran 3 miles and then did Rhytmic Step. It has been so long since I last did RS, I can't say I did very well this time around. But I figured since I got most of my cardio in with the run it was fine to just have fun with RS!

Thursday and Friday I did major workout clothes shopping. I can't say I needed new workout clothes or that we necessarily had the money to spend on it but I felt I have been working so hard I deserved a little treat!

Cheryl Great job on C&W! I love that one because it has so much variety, fun songs, and you really feel like you've worked your whole body hard. Great job on all your housework and running around! I bet it feels nice to get some things checked off the to-do list!

Janie Great job on your full body weight work! Yea I think that last rotation really upped my strength and my cardio endurance. I'll have to make a note that the January '11 rotation is a major keeper!

Have a wonderful weekend (last weekend of the winter-oh darn! :p)!

Hi ladies,

I'm back from my little get away, what a fun week!

Julie Sometimes those splurges on ourselves are important. I think the new workout clothes help us to stay motivated with our workouts too. You are doing so great with those pull ups, I bet that is why you were able to increase your weights. Great job!

Cheryl Glad to hear you are feeling better and getting back into the groove. It's awful when you aren't feeling well.

Janie Great job with those full body workouts and RS! Do you have another week before Joey comes home?

Yesterday morning my girlfriend and I got up and went to the gym at the condos. I did 30/30 intervals on the treadmill with 30 seconds of running followed by 30 seconds of jogging for a total of 3 miles. My hamstrings are really feeling it today! This morning was Drill Max and it felt great. I'm going to try to get out on my bike some this weekend too. We got some very bad news this week, my FIL was diagnosed with cancer. :( They don't know the source yet, but they drained almost 8 cups of fluid out of his stomach on Thursday! They will be doing a biopsy on Monday to try to determine the source of the cancer and then I guess decide on a treatment plan. Please keep him in your prayers!

Pam

This morning I did Lower Body Blast and it hurt soooo good :D. Got the grocery shopping and laundry done today. This afternoon we watched our Vancouver Whitecaps who have now just joined the North American Soccer League beat Toronto 4-2. Yeah I hope they have a good year.

Janie Good job on your total body workout. C&W is a fun workout and it felt good to get all the housework done.

Julie Wow you ran 3 miles and then did RS, way to go. You need to treat yourself sometimes and yes you have been working hard so don 't feel guilty about it. Even though you didn't need anything it was fun wasn't it ;).
It did feel good to get some things done off the to do list. I wish I had every Friday off.

Pam Glad you enjoyed your week away. So sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope the cancer is treatable and everything will be OK. 8 cups of fluid is a lot. Keep us posted on how he is doing.

Have a good Sunday everyone. Oh and Julie guess what.......it will be the first day of Spring......Yeah..........

Cheryl

Didn't do anything today, but tomorrow will be a different story.:D

Julie, Terrific job on those pull ups RS and Bonus Burn. Running on top of all that makes me want to rethink what I'm doing at home. Hmmmmmm. Your workout clothes shopping; indeed you deserve it. :D

Pam, So glad you are home and safe. Bet you had a wonderful time, sounded like it anyway.:D Good for you! Yep, another week and Joey will be home. Then I leave for a couple of days for my birthday party my sisters are giving me. :D Great job on intervals on the treadmill and today's DM. Oh no! I'm so sorry your Father-In-Law has cancer. (((((Hugs and prayers))))).

Cheryl, Great job on LBB, and shopping and laundry done. Well done.

Janie

Cheryl Great job on LBB! I hope you don't have bad DOMS today! Congratulations on your soccer team winning too! My DH's basketball team lost last night in a heartbreaker at the last second in the NCAA tournament. He was NOT happy!
Is today really the first day of Spring??! Hooray! Happy Spring!

Janie You need those didn't do anything days! Good for you! I know you must be looking forward to Joey coming home AND to that birthday party! I'm 2 days after you, and this is a BIG one for me this year! Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers for my FIL. Hopefully we will know more soon.

Today I did Core Max 2 which I think is the hardest with all of those planks, ugh. Then I did a stretch max segment which was very nice. I also did my push up test, 44. Only 1 more than the last time :( I think I am going to take the advice of taking a week off from the challenge and then starting up again. Today I am taking my DSD prom dress shopping. It should be quite the time as she is a very particular shopper. Then I'm taking my mom and sister to meet some kitties for adoption consideration. That will be a lot of fun! I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Pam
