Strength in Numbers

Did lots of stretching today and used the balance board for awhile, then, sat on the stability ball and watched some TV. I need balance!

Pam, Great job on HSC. I like that one as well.:) Good luck on Week 5 with your push ups. Cheering you on! Aw, so glad you are enjoying your jewelry. :D

Judie, I want to write that guy as well that claimed the 6 week challenges. Jeesh.:( Great job on on the pull ups. I would exchange the Australian ones to baby's too. They seem to do a better job. Also great job on those bonus burns. Wow, is all I can say. Great job for this mornings BC.

Cheryl, I'm finely able to get some yoga in. Thanks to you and your inspirations. Great job on your nights sleep and Kick Max Time saver. It's OK to cut it a little short. You have to listen to your body.:)

Take care everyone,

Janie

Julie You are doing great on those pull ups, even if you did forget to do your max hang! You were probably thinking so much about that bonus bun that you had coming next Those bonus burns are surprisingly tough aren't they? Great job! Isn't it funny in Boot Camp, I always feel so accomplished once I've git those terminator climbers behind me thinking the rest is easy, but those ice breakers and power kicks are not so easy either!
I'm really curious if anyone can really do that push up challenge in only 6 weeks! I think that guy was smoking something! Either that or he knew no one would do it if it was advertised to take 6 months!
I know what you mean about Cathe's workouts. It seems like I'm always saying 'Oh I love that one!' :D

Cheryl Hooray, glad you had a good nights sleep and you were able to workout AND post! It's going to be a great week. I know what you mean, those longer workouts can be tough to get in on a weekday. I do wish some of them weren't so long. The pre-mixes certainly help though.
I'm really hoping I don't have to give Shorty any pills. I've never tried the pill pockets before, I usually just stuff them down his throat and hold his mouth closed until he swallows it. They are really good at sticking it over in a cheek for a very long time though! The vet hasn't said anything about anitbiotics but they said that if they have to pull any teeth they will give me some pain medication for him, so I'm hoping they won't have to pull any!
I laughed when I read your description of Tigger going through the cat door without it sounding like it would break. If we had to put our cats food inside a box with a cat door I think they would starve before they could figure out how to use it!

Janie Great job on the stretching an balancing. I know that will be really good for you! Thanks for the encouragement on the pushups! I am afraid I'll be needing it for quite a bit longer  Week 5 round 3 here I come!

This morning for me was power max. An oldie but a goodie. I always have to laugh at the scrunchies in their hair and the thong leotards. I'm sure glad those are out of style!! I felt so guilty taking my cats to the vet this morning. Butters was extra lovey this morning. I suspect it was because I hadn't given them their treats and he was trying to get them. Shorty kept leading me to where their food dishes usually are and standing there looking at me like 'where's the food?' Then I stuffed them into their carriers and took them back to the vet. They looked so scared :( I felt really bad leaving them there. At least after this they won't have to go back for awhile. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Pam

Last night I did my bonus burn: 40 pushups (on my toes ), 40 tricep dips, 30 reverse lunges, and 200 crunches. I varied my leg position on the crunches to try to mix it up and hit different areas. Afterwards I did a Total Body Stretching segment for the first time and didn’t really feel like it did anything so I did a Stretch Max band segment and that did the trick! This morning was Cardio Kicks which is always fun and goes by quick!

Cheryl Great job on Kick Max timesaver! I am so glad to see you slept better and it looks like you got a little break from work! Always a good thing! LOL! You sound like my husband on not getting his hopes up on any of his sports favorites. Even with his beloved Packers winning the Super Bowl this year, the entire time he kept saying he wasn’t expecting them to win at all. ;)

Janie I bet stretching felt really good! I think we all could use some balance! Well maybe I should just speak for myself. :D I have heard sitting on a balance ball instead of a chair for whatever activity is really good. Good for you for doing just that!

Pam Great job on Power Max! Poor kitties! Having to go to the vet once is bad enough but twice in a week or so is just horrible! I feel the exact same way about those terminator climbers. I actually said that to myself yesterday during the warmup for BC: “If you can make it past the terminator climbers, you’re good to go!”

Hope everyone has a wonderful Hump Day!

This morning was Pyramid Upper Body. I forgot how hard that one could be, but I did remember to do the ab work first before I got to the upper body.

Pam How did the vet visit go? I hope everything was fine and no teeth were pulled. Cats and pills just don't mix do they. Tigger loved the pill pockets but not the pills. After he just ate the pill pocket and not the pill I would have to stuff them down his throat anyway. Power Max is a good workout even with it being one of the oldies. I laugh too when I look at the outfits they used to wear.

Julie Good job on the bonus burn. 40 pushups on your toes!!!!!! Way to go. I don't get my hopes up anymore with our teams. But if the Canucks make it to the Stanley Cup finals I may get a little excited :D.

Have a great Thursday.

Cheryl

Did Aerobic Yoga and sitting on the stability ball. Joey continues with TBS.

Pam, Great job on PM, one of my favorites of all time. My heart goes out to animals that have to go to the vet, but as we all know, it's only for their health and protection. Poor little things. Your a good momma.:D

Julie, Great job on BB, my gosh that's intense. Also great to see you doing stretches and also this mornings Cardio Kicks.

Cheryl, Great job with PUB. Glad you did the ab work first too.;)

Have a good evening everyone,

Janie

Julie Great job on that bonus burn. I just realized that I did that rotation a couple of months ago - I remember that bonus burn! Good idea doing the stretching afterwards! I just ordered stretch max because it was such a good deal with the sale. That and the DVD with Step Fit since it is one of the few Cathe step workouts that I don't have. I love cardio kicks too, great job!
I guess we all do some of that self talking with our workouts huh? With CCC it's always, get psat that fourth segment and you are home free  I almost wish it was earlier in the workout!

Cheryl Oh yea, PUB is a toughie, great job! I NEVER remember to do the ab work first, you were smart.
The vet visit went fine, no extractions were needed so no pills, HOORAY! They were sure happy to get home. Poor Butters especially. He slept on my lap the rest of the afternoon and then snuggled up and slept with me last night which he never does! He always sleeps at the foot of the bed. He looks awfully silly with that lion cut though. He's sure not as fat as I thought he was, but he has a very saggy belly! I told him he needs to start doing Cathe's ab work with me. He also looks like he has a HUGE head since they didn't shave it. I'll try to post a picture later. Poor guy. I felt so bad that I gave them treats about 3 times after they got home. That was a mistake because now Shorty thinks every time I walk into the mud room he should get a treat now! He was even out there meowing loudy in the middle of the night

Janie Great job on Aerobic Yoga and your balance work. Glad to hear that Joey is back to TBS too!
Because the cats were so stressed out going to the vet yesterday I decided that next time I'm going to try one of the mobile vets. There are actually several of them in this area now and their prices are no higher than the regular vets since they don't have the overhead of an office. They even can do minor surgeries! I talked to someone at work that uses one and he said they are great. I think it is such a great idea to not have to put them through the stress of the car ride and the strange place in addition to the poking and prodding!

This morning was Muscle Max for me. I really like it because I never have to pause or rewind this one. Cathe tells you what weight they are going to be using and gives just the right amount of time to get my weights changed! It makes me very happy :D Happy Thursday everyone!

Pam

I did my pull-ups last night: 3 band-assisted, 5 baby, 5 band-assisted, 4 baby, and 1 max hang. The baby pull-ups are really tough and I can usually only get one and then I have to take a short break before doing another. I’m still working towards it though. It’s gotta come together some day! I also did my bonus burn last night.

This morning I did Step, Jump, Pump. Then afterwards, I did my bonus burn for today because I have to run errands after work and will get home too late to do it. The pushup challenge must have done something for me because to my surprise I was able to do all 40 pushups on my toes last night and this morning!

Cheryl Oooh! PUB is a goodie! Great job on it! That one always makes my arms feel like jello. I took your advice last time I did PUB and did the ab work first and was actually able to make it through most of the pikes since my arms were fresh! Now I try to remember your good advice every time PUB is on my rotation.

Janie Great job on Aerobic Yoga and your balance work on the ball! The Bonus Burn is intense but I think it is doing something. The first couple of days my quads were screaming at me probably from the reverse lunges!

Pam Great job on MM! My favorite total body although STS Total Body was really good and could surpass MM! Yeah I thought you did the rotation because I believe I added the rotation to my calendar from the one you put together! I was thinking that was the one you did last Fall and saw pretty good results with it. You will really enjoy Stretch Max. All 3 segments are really good and the perfect length. My favorite of the three would probably be the one with the band. It really stretches out tight hamstrings and hips.

Have a wonderful Thursday! One more day to the weekend!

Took this morning off since it is really hard for me to get up at 4 am more than two mornings in a row :(. I took tomorrow off from work so I will be able to sleep in and do Low Impact Circut.

Janie I wanted to let you know that I got the earrings and pendant in the mail today. I really like them and the colors are perfect for me. It was so nice of you to do this for us.
Aerobic yoga sounds interesting. I will have to try it one day.

Pam I am glad that the vet visit went well and you don't have to give Shorty any pills. Poor Butters, I love the lion cut on cats. We have that done to Tigger every year but we will need to wait until May or June when it gets warmer. Last year we did it in April and the poor guy froze to death. We had to wrap him up in a blanket. Funny after you take off all that hair they are not as big as you thought. I can just picture the saggy belly on him.
Post a picture if you can. A mobile vet is a good idea, that would help with the stress.

Julie Keep at it those pull ups will come eventually. You are getting stronger if you can do 40 push ups. Good for you. My arms felt like jello too after PUB. I still feel it today.

Happy Friday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie You are doing so well on those pull ups! I still can't bring myself to start another challenge while I'm still struggling with these push ups, but one of these days..... Great job on SJP and the Bonus burn too. AND doing all of the pushups on your toes! Awesome!
I agree with you on MM and STS Total body as favorites of total body workouts. I do love the tri set format so might have to lean toward the STS but they are both great. I'm looking forward to trying a stretch max this weekend so maybe I will start with the band segment. Lord knows my hamstrings could use it!

Cheryl I hope you are enjoying your day off! I'm off most of next week and am really looking forward to it! I hope you did get to sleep in at least a little.
I remember when poor Tigger was so cold last year after his hair cut. This is Butters first experience and I'm not sure what he thinks. The strange thing is that ever since he came back from the vet he has wanted to be on my lap constantly. He normally will lay on my lap for a little while but then go sleep somewhere else. Now he is just planting himself on my lap and when I need to get up he doesn't want to move  It's very strange.

Last night I came home and found my new Cathe DVDs in my mailbox :D I was supposed to do 40/20 this morning but I decided to do it last night instead and then did Step Fit this morning. It was fun, I think I will like it once I am a little more confident with it. I also did my push ups this morning but once again couldn't mange that last set. I did 28/35/25/22/21 (last set was supposed to be 35! ARGH) I'm not sure this is ever going to happen!

I hope everyone has a great Friday!
Pam

This morning I did Imax 3. I really like this one but have to say I enjoy doing Imax 2 much more! I will do my pull-ups and bonus burn tonight when I get home.

Cheryl Good for you for listening to your body and not getting up. I imagine with the little to no sleep you got earlier this week that you really needed the rest. I bet it will be great to sleep in today and then do LIC. That is such a good one! Ah yes! PUB almost always has me feeling it for a day or two afterwards! I just tell myself it must have worked!

Pam Great job on doing 40/20 at night and then Step Fit in the morning! Wow! Plus pushups! I know it is frustrating to not get that last set in. But at least you are still going and that just means getting stronger. I have another week of pull-ups before I test myself again. If I can’t do a full one I may have to look for another plan soon.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I see that everyone is doing well on their exercises and taking care of yourselves.

Cheryl, so glad you got your jewelry and like it. I didn't know how long it would take to reach Canada.

Joey will be going to Vegas tomorrow for a couple of weeks. He has sold some of his radios that he has restored to better than life originals. I'll be starting a new routine on Monday. Don't know what yet though. It will be different while Joey is gone. I already miss him.:(

Lately I've been doing Aerobic Yoga and stretches for flexibility and balance also ab work. Have to stick with that. I'm also thinking later today to get the balance board out and work with that as well, but so far the yoga I'm doing is wonderful.

Still very cold, rainy and dual here in the Pac. NW. Can't wait for better weather.

I'll be leaving for a few days in the beginning of next month to visit my family in Eastern Wash. I like to celebrate my April Fools birthday there. They usually have a party or something special for me.

When I get home from that, will make a yearly appointment for a pap smear. Reminder: You ladies don't forget that all important visit with your doctor. It's important and saves lives.

Take care and have a wonderful day.

Janie

Well woke up at 4 am this morning . On the bright side I did stay in bed until almost 6, the cats were bugging me because they wanted food so I couldn't stay in bed any longer. I did Low Impact Circut this morning.
I heard about the earthquake in Japan and the west coast of Vancouver Island was on Tsunami alert. We got a few waves but nothing serious. The coast of Northern California and Oregon got hit worse. They also said that we should be on earthquake alert for the next 72 hours because the earthquake in Japan could trigger something here. I had better check our emergency kit to make sure nothing has expired.

Pam I enjoyed my day off but it was sure wet. Went to Costco and went grocery shopping this morning and then went to get my hair cut and highlighted. There were a few more greys showing than want I wanted. I wonder if Butters is cold and that is why he wants to be on your lap all the time. Even though you didn't get 35 push ups in your last set you are still doing really good.

Julie I am with you in that I also enjoy Imax 2 more than Imax 3. Wish I could have slept in this morning, it is so fustrating to wake up at 4 am without the alarm and once the cats know I am awake I can pretty much forget about falling back asleep.

Janie Packages do take a while to get to me. When we have won things on Ebay it can take up to a month to reach us. Vegas is going to be a busy place. I know of a few people here that will be going down there in the next couple of weeks. It is still cold for us here too. It rained so hard today that I got drenched just going from the car to the store. I can hardly wait for some nicer weather.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on Imax 3. I agree with you that it isn't as much fun as Imax 2. I would hardly ever choose to do it because I would do one of the hardcore extreme mixes instead. I can't remember which one of those I used to do all the time, but it has 6 of the Imax 3 intervals in it.

Janie OH, no fun for Joey to be gone for 2 weeks. Doug was gone for his golf weekend, left the next night for Boston, was home for 4 days after Boston and then was in Florida from Sunday til Friday! We were glad to het him home yesterday, but of course now I'm leaving on Tuesdya to go to Hilton Head until Friday. :( He's probably going to have to go to Michigan though so I would've just been home alone again if I weren't going to Hilton Head.
I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your yoga and balance work. Great job!
I did all of my yearly appts at the beginning of January so I'm set for a year, except for the dentist, that one is coming up in a couple of weeks.

Cheryl Oh man, that is no fun waking up at 4 on your day off! Very frustrating! I woke up around 4:30 this morning and stayed in bed til 6:30. Great job on LIC. It sounds like you had a nice day off, despite the weather
Wow, I just can't get over this earthquake in Japan. It is so horrible. They keep showing this one mini van floating through the water on the news and the back windshield wiper is on which just makes me feel sick that there must be someone in that car! I hope all of you in the northwest stay safe! Maybe Butters is cold, I'm really not sure. It's like his whole personality has changed. Maybe it feels good not lugging all that hair around. He's been running around like a mad man too!

This morning was Body Max2. Always a good one. I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Pam

Did my pull-ups last night: 6 band-assisted, 5 baby, 5 band-assisted, 4 baby, and 1 max hang. Still have to rest in between each 1-2 baby pull-ups. I also did my bonus burn and a Stretch Max segment.

This morning I did a 3 mile run and Muscle Max. I have to do some major cleaning now and then will do my bonus burn later today. We have to change the clocks this weekend. That means losing an hour of sleep and going back to driving into work in the dark. At least that last part shouldn't last too long!

Janie Great job on sticking with your rest week and just concentrating on stretching, balance and ab work, and some lighter cardio. I bet you really feel good now. Joey will be gone for a couple of weeks?!? :( Well, just know we will be here if you need anything. You don’t have to worry about me not getting my paps done. I have to see the doctor at least once a year for that in order to get my birth control prescription!

Cheryl That stinks when you have plans to sleep in and then can’t but staying in bed for awhile longer was hopefully relaxing. My dogs are the same way. If they know I am awake, they will not leave me alone until I actually get out of bed. Great job on LIC! Love that one! Hope you guys don’t get hit with an earthquake! ONE MORE WEEK TO SPRING!!!

Pam Great job on BM2! Love, love, love that one! I think it is the music. Whenever I do that one, I am singing Jesse’s Girl for the next day or 2! :p I think the HCE workouts are more fun than Imax 3 for some reason. There is one that alternates between Imax 3 and Low Max and another that includes the Kick Max blasts. I think the one that includes the Kick Max blasts is probably the best.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I was suppose to do Step Blast this morning but I decided to do Intensity and segment 1 of core max. I still can't do those blasted hover thingies though :(.

Pam The earthquake is horrible. It makes you think about what you would do especially when you live in an earthquake zone. The earthquake was bad enough it was the tsunami that really did the damage.
If Butters had a lot of mats he probably feels really good since they can hurt. It is so funny when they start running around and you don't know why. It is like they just went back to being a young cat again and have a lot of energy to burn off. Good job on BM2.

Julie You are doing well with your pull ups, don't worry that you need to rest between sets. You seem to be like me and are mad that we have to do this spring forward thing. I really hate losing that 1 hour of sleep and having to go to work in the dark again. I actually find the time change really depressing :(. I hate not being able to sleep in. Even sleeping in until 6 am would be good. No earthquakes here, hopefully nothing for a long time. Yeah one more week until Spring, I can hardly wait. It rained so hard here today that you didn't want to leave the house.

Have a great Sunday.

Cheryl

Did Athletic Step today. Sure miss my Joey already.

Cheryl, Great job on LIC yesterday and today's Intensity with segment 1 of core max. It's wet here too, so much rain. Can't wait for better weather.

Pam, I didn't see the car with the wipers on. How awful! I can hardly bare seeing all the destruction these poor people have to go through. The reactor is what I'm so afraid for them. My heart goes out to them.:( Great job on Body Max2.

Julie, Your pull ups and bonus burns are fantastic! You are doing such a great job. Will have to figure out today, an exercise routine for me to do this week. Something other than TBS for sure. LOL:D Great job also on the 3 mile run and MM and clean max. LOL:)

Have a good day,

Janie

This morning was yoga. Not many people in the class, I think the time change messed some people up.

Janie Good job on Athletic Step, I like that workout. I can't believe how much it is raining here, it is starting to get depressing.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on those pull ups, you are going to get there for sure! Good for you for finishing up with a stretch max too! Als 3 mile run and MM yesterday! Awesome. I hope you got your cleaning done.
I just hate the time change, I wish we wouldn't do it anymore.
That's funny that you said you are always singing Jesse's Girl after doing BM2, I am always singing along when that song is on. Makes the work a little easier. I completely agree tha tthe HCE workouts are more fun than Imax3, even though they are no easier (maybe even harder!)

Chery; Wow, great job doing Intensity and Core max! You must have been feeling great! I think I am getting closer on the hover things. I am getting my legs off the ground now, even though it's only for a second or two. That is progress from where I was!
I told my DH what you said about Butters being cold and he said he thinks that it what it is. He said he wrapped him up in some blankets when he was laying on the bed and he loved it! Yesterday when I was folding laundry he got up and snuggled up against one of the warm shirts I had folded too. Poor little guy lost his fur coat!

Janie Awwww so sorry you are missing your Joey :( Great job on Athletic Step though. That is such a fun workout.
Oh boy, I am so worried about those nuclear reactors in Japan too. Wow, those poor people.

This morning for me was Core Max segment 1 and then I did the band portion of stretch max. It was really nice. I did get my legs off the ground momemtarily for all of the levatation holds! Woo hoo! It was only a second or two, but in the past I have not been able to get them off the ground at all. We had a gorgeous gorgeous weekend, it was almost 80 degrees today. We were at a get together and were sitting outside and had to move to the shade because we were getting too hot! I was so happy! I hope you guys all get the beautiful weather soon! Somehow though the weekend is gone already. Hope it was a good one for everyone.

Pam

Good morning ladies. This morning for me was Imax 2 :D Then I did week 5 day 2 of the push up challenge for the third time. I'm not doing any better! It was 18/18/20/20/14/14/16/20 (supposed to be 40) with 45 second rests. I waited 45 seconds and did another set and could only get 15 on that one! I think I'm getting worse  Have a great Monday everyone!

Pam

Yesterday I did a new yoga DVD. It was actually an Amazon Video on Demand by Hemalayaa (sp?). I didn’t like it. I think I am going to try Shiva Rea next time. She is supposedly very good.

This morning was supposed to be a 20 min. steady state run followed by 30 min. interval run but that seemed boring to me so I decided to do Intensity instead. And just for kicks, I did the add-on bootcamp bonus at the end. It was fun. I really like the functional turning lunge thingies. I will do my pull-ups and bonus burn later.

Cheryl Great job on Intensity and Core Max Seg 1! Don’t beat yourself up over the levitation holds. They are super hard and I have never been able to do one. Yes I hate the time change. Both in the spring and fall. I know we gain an hour of sleep in the fall which is the only nice part but honestly I just wish they would leave the time alone. Great job on Yoga on Sunday!

Janie Great job on Athletic Step! I really enjoy that one and the little blast at the end that she sneaks in there is fun. So sorry you miss Joey. :( It must be hard being apart. Hope you got your routine all set to keep you busy and hopefully your mind off of missing Joey (if only for a short time).

Pam Great job on Core Max seg 1 and Stretch Max band seg on Sunday! I hope you enjoyed the Stretch Max segment; it is my favorite! Great job on those levitation holds! Last time I did Core Max 1, I couldn’t do any but that was several months ago. I haven’t tried it again in awhile and am a little afraid to. Your weather sounds so delightful. We are getting there slowly. It will be in the 50s all week and possibly hit 60 by the end of the week! Bring on the Spring! Great job on Imax 2 (go genie hops). Great job on sticking with the pushup challenge. I wonder if you need to take a week off and then start week 5 again. Maybe a rest will help.

Have a wonderful Monday!
