Strength in Numbers

It was so beautiful outside today. Decided to work in garden. Weeded the strawberry patches, looked at the raspberry patches, and after pruning them a few weeks ago, I see no growth. Picked up limbs and branches and debris from what I left behind from pruning. The seeds haven't come up yet, but that only takes patience. It's only been a few days, and really won't see any seedling for at least a week or so. Sigh:rolleyes: LOL:D The two neighbor dogs came to visit. It was nice, wished I had time for walking.

Cheryl, Great job on SP&J. I just love that one! Should do that in the near future. I can't see pot smoking in front of children, or children able to purchase it for sure. However, I do see potential for it in medicine. So far I've been using my Neti pot, and I'm good. Hope it stays that way. Joey is very sick, and today he's had bloody noses. Hmmmmmm, with lots of blowing his nose. He says it's the wettest cold he's ever had. OMG! BEARS! I'm so frightened of them! I read a story once that a man got mauled from a bear, they left nothing to the imagination. It still bothers me today.:(

Julie, Great job on yesterdays 4DS LIS cardio and your 1RM tests. The push ups are still amazing to me! Very very good! Great job this morning on 4DS BC cardio only and again the 1RM tests. You are just about to do STS aren't you?:) I hope it will be flood free at your place from here on out. Lots of work you had to put in to make it right again.

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to Julie,
Happy Birthday to You. And many more. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pam, Great job on last nights HSC and this mornings LL and stability ball abs. I also can't do the one leg pikes. I'm very close to doing the pike though.:) While your cats watch the humming birds through the window, do they make little sounds like ours does? It's so cute.

Have a great evening every one,

Janie

Today I did Step Blast  and took a day off from 1RM testing. I have my last day tomorrow and will happily not miss it!:D:eek:

Pam Great job on HSC followed by LL and abs the next morning! I hope you aren’t too sore! The push up challenge was great for helping me increase the amount of push ups I can do but I am was not sad to stop doing it. It will be tough to push through it but I know you can do it!

Cheryl I didn’t catch the score from last night’s game but hopefully you got your win in! DH knows I am still rooting for the Canucks over his Blackhawks. I think he kind of likes being against me on this one! Thanks for the birthday wishes. I decided today that I would do one of my favorite step workouts in my favorite outfits and am now enjoying my favorite breakfast. Then it is back to painting! :p

Janie Sounds like you are having a blast with your garden! I will be starting STS May 2 and cannot wait. Next week I will be done with the testing and just doing cardio and core the whole week. No push ups no pull-ups, nothing but cardio to prepare my body to be shocked by STS! Thanks for the birthday wishes. I am glad I am home today and it would make a great birthday present if we got all the painting done today. ;)

Have a great Friday!

Cheryl Wow, thousands of people at marijuana day?! That is incredible. It's good that the police were there to keep things calm at least. I'm sure it was a very interesting crowd!
I'm not sure I could do more than 1 day of getting up at 3:45 am so I think you are doing great! Sorry about your hockey team, looks like it wasn't a good night for them :(

Janie It sounds like you had a wonderful day working in your garden. I'm planning to get out and do some yard work tomorrow and hopefully get our first ski of the season in. It's really late for us, but with everything we've had going on there has been no opportunity to get to the lake. Tomorrow just may be our day though! It's supposed to be mid 80's so should be perfect for it.
Oh yes, our cats make those little noises when they are watching the birds. It's so funny!

Julie Happy Happy Birthday! I hope that you have a great day. It sounds like you definitely started it the right way! Great job on Step Blast, love love love that one! I always feel better when I'm wearing an outfit that I really like too, isn't that funny?!
I am pretty sore today, especially my abs, glutes and legs. I can still pass the toilet test though :D against me on this one! Thanks for the birthday wishes. I decided today that I would do one of my favorite step workouts in my favorite outfits and am now enjoying my favorite breakfast.

This morning I did Drill Max. I was really not feeling like getting up and working out but I dragged myself up there and by the time I was into the first cardio segment I was feeling good. I was glad about that since that is a long workout! I hope everyone has a "Good" Friday (pun intended :p) and a great weekend.

Pam

Janie It was a nice day to work in the garden. I don't understand people who smoke it, but I agree with you for its potential in medicine. Too bad they couldn't make it into a pill form. (((Hugs))) to Joey. I hope he gets better soon. I try not to worry about the bears, I have seen bears several times and one of our pine trees out back had really high and long claw marks in it one year.

Julie Step Blast is a lot of fun. So nice for you to have the 1RM testing over with too. The Canucks didn't show up for the game yesterday either. They way they are going Jason may have the last laugh. The score was 5-0 for the Hawks. We turned it off after is was 3-0 it was just too painful to watch. I hope you had a great birthday and didn't have to paint the whole day.

Pam British Columbia is known as the pot capital of North America. Now isn't that something to be proud of . I couldn't believe how many people there were there at the marijuana day. Our hockey team seems to be thinking more about golfing that playing hockey . I am not amused... I hope you get some watersking in this weekend. Wow 80 degrees, I was happy it was around 60 here today. I did Drill Max today too, what a great workout.

Since I was lucky enough to have today off I did Drill Max since I missed it last week and it is too long to do on a morning that I have to get to work. It was one that I hadn't done for a long time and it felt really good to do it again. After that I did some housework and then got out and cleaned up the patios and power washed them. I am going to sleep well tonight.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Cheryl

Today's agenda was High Reps. Oh boy! Whew! Lots of modification.

Julie, Great job on SB. Wow, you've come a long way. Very impressive. I'm looking forward in hearing about your experience with STS starting on May 2. WooHoo! How did the painting go today? Did you get all the painting done?

Pam, Were you able to make it to the lake? Great job on on DM and convincing to drag yourself in doing it.

Cheryl, Joey is not getting better, the cold has to run its course, now it's moving down into his chest. Soon he will be coughing all night long for several days, if that is what he has. I'm still trying to protect myself with the neti pot, and washing up everything he touches and washing my hands a lot. So far so good. I'm sure hoping I miss this one. I suppose because of the bears, you wouldn't want to walk in the woods. I sure wouldn't! Bears SCARE ME! I'm afraid for you.:( Great job on DM. Have a good sleep tonight.:)

Janie

This morning I was so exhausted from three days of painting but I forced myself to get up and do 4DS Kickbox Cardio Only and my last 5 1RM tests!!! I can’t believe we got 12 coats of paint on in 3 rooms and a hallway over the course of 3 days but we are finally done with painting walls and ceilings!! I still have the doors and trim to paint and stain but that will be much easier.

Pam Thanks for the birthday wishes! I did have a good day since we finished painting! Great job on Drill Max! That is a long workout but it is so much fun too!

Cheryl Great job on Drill Max too! Funny how you and Pam did the same work out! Sounds like you also had quite the work out with Clean Max too! I do hope you sleep well tonight. I know I have been the last couple nights after all the painting all day long.

Janie Great job on High Reps! That one is good but I got severe DOMS from it the first and last time and I did it! We did get all the painting done and I am so relieved. Poor Joey! Colds are no fun and they seem to last forever and just keep hanging on. I do hope he gets better.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My sneezing was dust today. I'm still feeling fine and still using the neti pot. So far so good. Joey is still miserable. I'd give him another week before it's over. Poor guy. Rolly and I walked in the wood for 25 min. The weather is absolutely out of this world. It's a quarter to 4 and 68 degrees. I'm predicting this will be a 70 degree day. Using fusing web to fuse materiel together and making beads out them. Very unusual and unique.

Julie, I'm so proud of you for getting up after so much work you have done, to do your workout. Great job on 4DS Kickbox Cardio Only, and your 5 !RM tests. You rock!

I have DOMs from it as well. Wow, talk about a potty test! My whole body is sore.

Joey will be fine, it just has to run it's coarse. One more week I think.

Janie

Janie Great job on High Reps, that is a really good workout. Sorry that Joey isn't getting any better. I guess it will just have to run its course. The bears don't scare me, we go out to the woods you just have to be aware of your surroundings.

Julie You sure did get a lot done on your three days off. I bet the rooms and hallway look awesome now and makes it worth all of that work. Good for you to still get up and do 4DS Kickbox and the last of your 1RM tests. It was suppose to be Cardio and Weights for me but since I had just done that one and missed Drill Max last week I decided to do that one. It had been a long time since I had done it. Sometimes Pam and myself do the same workout on the same day. It is like we are reading each others minds.

Today was Rythmic Step an oldie but a goodie. Then it was grocery shopping and cleaning out the BBQ. It was a really nice day here around 70 degrees. This is the first time I could be outside in just jeans and a T shirt. My back is really sore after yesterdays cleaning so yoga tomorrow will be something that I need.

Have a great Sunday.

Cheryl

Cheryl I had no idea that British Columbia was the pot capital of North America, no wonder you get all of the crazies moving there!

Julie Step Blast is a lot of fun. So nice for you to have the 1RM testing over with too. The Canucks didn't show up for the game yesterday either. We did get to the lake and skiied yesterday :), it was a gorgeous day! I thought I was going to be really sore today too, but I'm not too bad. hooray! It sounds like you had a great day on Friday!

Janie Great job on High Reps. I haven't done that one in quite awhile. agenda was High Reps.
Sorry to hear that Joey is feeling so lousy. I hope that you are able to keep fending the cold off, it sounds like quite the nasty one! I'm glad to hear that you are getting some beautiful weather and that you and Rolly are taking full advantage of it! Your new beads sound very interesting, I'll be looking forward to the pictures!

Pam, Were you able to make it to the lake? Great job on on DM and convincing to drag yourself in doing it.

Julie Great job on 4DS kickboxing cardio and finishing your 1RM test! Congratulations on finishing your painting too! I bet that feels great! How does it look? Wonderful I'm sure!

Cheryl[/]B Great job on RS, that is one of my all time favorites, it's just so much fun! I'm glad to hear that you got a nice day too, i hope you got to enjoy it other than cleaning out the BBQ!

Happy Easter everyone! Yesterday was quite the productive day for me! I did cardio kicks and the abs from muscle endurance for my workout, then I went out and planted all of my flowers and weeded, then I did most of the cooking for today's Easter brunch and then we went to the lake and skied before coming home and cooking dinner. We also got a new addition to our family yesterday. One of our neighbors is moving to California and they had adopted an outdoor cat that had been wild. That can't take her with them and they were desperate to find someone to take care of her. She is still strictly an outdoor cat but is quite domesticated now. So we said we would take her. We thought she would immediately run back to their house but she has stayed around here so far and den let me pet her a little last night. I told my DH that he can't call me a crazy cat lady though because he was the one who said that we would take her! Today I am having my family over for Easter brunch. Strawberries are in season and they are just gorgeous so we will be having strawberry shortcake for dessert! We have a little farm up the road and I got a bucket of the most beautiful sweet strawberries. Now I'm making muskeg hungry! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Pam

Pam Wow you did have a productive day. Congratulations on your new addition. You will be like us now three cats and we are not crazy cat people either :D. Enjoy your Easter brunch.

I did yoga today. This afternoon we are going to my cousins for Easter dinner. It is over an hour drive to get there so I am not looking forward to it too much. It is suppose to be pouring rain again here so the drive home tonight won't be too much fun either.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Cheryl

Cheryl Ugh an hour drive each way for dinner, hope it wasn't too bad. Good for you for getting your yoga in first. We had brunch and then I took a nap which I NEVER do! It was kind've nice.
Spooky (the new cat) is starting to get used to us. She let Ashley pet her last night and let me pet her this morning. We still have to sit down and let her come to us, but it seems like pretty good progress in a short amount of time. The funny thing is that the old owners are still in the neighborhood and just one street over, but she hasn't gone back there at all. She is pretty much hanging around our house or in the woods and seems to always come when I call her. I feel bad seeing her lay down to sleep outside though :( The old owner said that they brought her in the house a few times but she was always nervous and wanted to go right back out. I'm wondering about a cat door or something so that she can get into the basement and out of the elements if she needs to. I guess we'll see.

This morning I was supposed to do HST but my arms and shoulders are still so sore from skiing on Saturday that I decided to stick with cardio and legs, so I did the step and intervals of Body max which was just perfect. I was planning to do a push up test today but decided to wait on that also. I can't believe how sore I am! Have a great Monday everyone!

Pam

This morning is my last week before starting STS. I am so very excited  and since I am done with the 1RM tests, this whole week is devoted to just doing cardio & core. So this morning, I did HiiT 40/20 and Ab Circuits Yoga Inspired. I tried using yoga blocks for the levitation holds and while I could lift my legs up a little higher, I can’t say they were completely off the ground. Oh well, I’ll just keep practicing!

Janie Wow! You are having lovely weather! I am not at all jealous … well, maybe I am . We are rainy and only in the upper 50s with winds for the last week or so and for most of this week. Hopefully May will be better.

Cheryl Great job on Rhythmic Step and yoga! I heard the score from last night’s game. One more game to go and hopefully the Canucks show up this time! Sometimes I swear the teams intentionally draw out the playoffs to help the owners make more money off ticket sales. Maybe it just seems that way but I swear more and more playoffs are going the full 5 or 7 games.

Pam Great job on Cardio Kicks and ME abs! Being able to enjoy time at the lake sounds wonderful. Seems like you are having great weather too. I am definitely moving . Are your other cats indoor only cats? I wonder if they watch you with the new cat from the windows and get jealous? I know my dogs are both big jelly beans and don’t like us giving attention to other animals! Strawberry shortcake sounds perfect for Easter! Yum!!!! Great job on Body Max step & intervals! You were smart to not work your arms when they were already sore. My sister bought a heated cat house for her outdoor cat. It was a little over $100 but she feels better knowing he has a warm place to snuggle up at night.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Pam It was a lot of driving yesterday. We drove almost 200 kilometers there and back, that is somewhere around 120-130 miles. I sure don't want to do that too often. Dinner was good though and we saw my uncle's niece and husband who were visiting from England. We hadn't seen them for 9 years. It looks like Spooky knows where her new home is already. I would have a hard time having her sleep outside too. I like Julie's idea of a heated cat house. You could try the cat door too but you have to remember your indoor cats may want to use it too, unless your cats don't have access to the basement. Good idea to give your arms and shoulders a break. Good job on the step and intervals of Body Max.

Julie Enjoy your week of cardio and core work. You will like STS, it is a great program. Well the Canucks lost again last night so the series is tied 3 games a piece. Though it was an exciting game that went into overtime. Tomorrow will be the game that decides it. I agree with you that it seems that a lot of series go 5 - 7 games so the bars and restaurants can make a lot of money. For us if the Canucks lose tomorrow the bars a restaurants around here will lose millions since their season will now be over.

This morning it was 4DS Kickbox, I was tired after yesterdays driving but I am glad that I made an effort to do it. It was suppose to be Thursday's workout but since I was home I decided to do it today since it is a longer workout.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on Hiit 40/20 and yoga abs. My day today was very simliar, I did 40/20 and no equipment abs. It sounds like you have a fun week of workouts ahead of you!
Yes, we are having fantastic weather now, but it was definitely later in coming this year than most years.
Our other 2 cats are both indoor cats. So far I don't think they are aware of the new addition outside, although I'm surprised because this morning I went out on the side porch and called her and she came up meowing really loudly. They were right on the other side of the door but didn't seem to notice  They definitely get jealous of each other and spend a lot of time vying with each other for our attention, so I suspect that they may get jealous once they are aware of her. I love the idea of the heated outdoor house, just need to get DH on board with the idea. He says that it would be too confining for her and also that she would be trapped if a fox or coyote or something stuck their head in there.

Cheryl Well it's good that you had a nice dinner and got to see the visitors from England with all of that driving. Spooky does seem to already know that she has a new home, I'm surprised. This morning when I went out on the porch she came up right away. I already started looking at some of the outdoor cat houses, but need to talk DH into it. Or it might just show up one day :p Our other cats don't have access to the basement, so it would be just her spot. I haven't mentioned that idea to DH yet. I'm sure he will roll his eyes! Great job on 4DS KB!

Janie Don't work to hard! Looking forward to hearing what you've been up to!

As I said, this morning for me was 40/20 and no equipment abs. I had forgotten what a hard ab workout that was! With 40/20 I got my wind after the first 4 segments. Usually I start out strong and peter out, but it was the opposite today, I had more energy at the end. I got poison ivy when I was working in the yard this weekend  it's just a few spots on my legs and one arm right now, hopefully that is all it will end up being. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Pam

This morning I did the Timesaver Cardio Premix from Body Max 2! It was so much fun and such a calorie burner for a short workout.

Cheryl Great job on 4DS Kickbox! The cardio in that one is so good. Here’s to hoping the Canucks win so that the bars and restaurants can make more money! I doubt Jason or I will be watching the whole game so I'll have to check the score tomorrow morning.

Janie No worries on not posting personals. We know you are out there working hard and will catch up when you have time!

Pam Great job on 40/20 and NE abs! I am with you on usually starting out strong and petering out towards the end. With the HiiTs, I notice that after the stretch I almost get a second wind and feel like I could go another round. Of course, I am not that brave! Good luck with the outdoor cat house. My sister’s cat seems to love it and so far she hasn’t any problems with raccoons which used to terrorize poor Captain Jack before. Hope your poison ivy clears up soon.

Have a good Tuesday!

Yesterday did TBS with my Joey. He felt well enough to participate in the exercise . I'm so glad. Today I plan on planting seeds from lettuce, Kohlrabi and arugula. In between the rains, possible snow?. That can't be right!

Besides designing new jewelry and baking 100% Whole Wheat bread, I've also been using my Kindle and reading "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". I got into a part where I simply couldn't stop reading. Was oblivious about the time and realized it was way passed my bed time.

It's a mystry novel and couldn't get into it during the first half of the book, but since I paid for it I might as well continue on. It is now very interesting and dark in places (sadistic, rape, murder...) and mysterious, romantic, cheering on the good guys, all at the same time. I've never read a mystery book before and this one has two other books to complete the series.

I get so wrapped up into things, this time a lot of things at once. I need to slow down! There really is not enough time in our 24 hours to do everything that I want done. But I LOVE TRYING!

Pam, So glad to see you enjoying skiing. I'm assuming big time DOM's for you. I think the idea of a cat door is wonderful. But, and this is workable, get something to catch the live mice that they bring in. We often see Higgen (our female cat) bring in mice (every now and then) just from her enclosure. It's a little unsettling, but we capture them at night and do what we have to, to be mice free in our home. Great job on Step and Interval of BM. We don't have poison ivy where I live, but we do have nettles. Sounds like it does the same job by brushing by them on unprotected skin. Yikes! Very itchy.

Julie, Great job on Hiit 40/20 and ab yoga inspired. I bet you are so welcoming in STS next week. Yeah! Our weather turned for the worst. Rain, Rain and more Rain. But, that's the PNW for ya. That's why it is so green here. I love the rain actually, but when I want to walk or plant, it sometimes gets in the way. You know what I mean?

Cheryl, Great job on 4DS Kickbox. Very well done on an unscheduled workout. Proud of ya.

Have a wonderful day everyone, just got this in my mail. Very cute! http://www.wimp.com/catdolphins/

Pam Good job on 42/20 and no equipment abs. Yuck poison ivy, that isn't much fun. Nice that Spooky already knows who her new family is. You could do the cat door in the basement since the other two don't go down there.

Julie I like the Timesaver Cardio Premix from BM2. It does burn a lot of calories in a short period of time. I am hoping that the Canucks win tonight but I am not holding my breath.

Janie I tried getting into the book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but gave up after about 100 pages. I found it to be soooo boring. I do see a lot of people reading the series though. I loved the video that you posted. The cat and the dolphin sure did get along.

I took a vacation day from work today so I could get 5 days off in a row. So this morning a did Cardio Fusion, it was supposed to be Friday's workout but I don't have that much time on a work day. I guess I have to get back to work tomorrow :(. Oh well need to pay those bills.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie What is the Timesaver cardio premix in BM2? I may have to try that one sometimes. It's so funny, I hardly ever think about doing the premixes and I need to start.
I have done a second round of Hiits a couple of times, but only if I have planned it in advance. I think it would be hard for me to just decide to do another round once I'm finished. Something about having my head around it before I start helps! I think I probably will end up getting one of the outdoor cat houses but will wait a little while. Right now I have one of those soft sided cat carrier things on the porch with a blanket in it and I'm going to see if she has any interest in sleeping in there. I like the idea of having something that is protected from the weather though.

Janie Great job on TBS! Glad to hear that Joey is feeling well enough to workout. It sounds like you haven't gotten his cold either, so keeping my fingers crossed for you! Possible snow?! SERIOUSLY?! I hope they are wrong about that! You sure have been busy! I am currently reading the third book in the series (I think this one is called the Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest?) I really loved the first two and am enjoying this one quite a bit also. I didn't have that problem getting into the first one but my girlfriend did. When she loaned me the book she warned me about that and said to hang in thee so maybe it was because I was prepared for it.
Believe it or not my arms are STILL sore from skiing! I can't believe it is lasting this long. I guess they will recover in time to go out and do it again this weekend!
Thanks for the warning about the mice, I definitely do NOT want them in the house!

Cheryl I'm thinking I will probably go with the outdoor cat house but we'll see. Mary (the womand that was feeding her before) said that she came into their house a couple of times but she was always very nervous and wanted to run right back out. How nice having 5 days in a row off! It sounds like you got some good workouts in too! I have cardio fusion on the schedule for Friday too. I haven't done it in awhile and it is a doozy! Great job!

This morning for me was Step, Jump and Pump. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Pam
