Strength in Numbers

Today was 4Ds Lower Intensity Step modified. I loved it!
Also walked on the beach with Rolly for an hour.

Pam, So glad you are back to yourself so quickly. Yea! Enjoy the meet and have fun. Sending good running karma to Carl.

Take care,

Janie

I got better sleep Thursday night and was able to do my last Gorgeous Glutes workout and tack on the step tabata and 30/20 hit from TTM. My day was so busy yesterday with meetings, I didn't have a chance to post. I also gave blood yesterday too. Today, I have errands to run and will be stopping over at my mom's for a bit.

Pam Great job on BM! Sorry your heel is back to bothering you. I guess now you know you need a little more healing time. Sending good running karma thoughts your way for Carl. Hope he does great!

Janie Great job on 4DS Bootcamp, 4DS LIS, plus your beach walks with Rolly. You will be back to where you want to be in no time. Just go slow and you will see awesome results.

Have a great weekend ladies!

Today was 4DS Kickbox.

Also went to the beach 3 times with the tricycle and collected sand for our animals enclosure. It was sooooooo needed.

Julie, Wonderful news about getting better sleep. Also for doing your last Gorgeous Glutes workout with a tack on of Step Tabata and 30/20 hiit from TTM. So nice you gave blood. Worth the time to do that. :) Enjoy the rest of your day doing errands and stopping at your mom's. Yep, I agree in order to get back where I was slow and easy is the way.

Take Care,

Janie

JanieGreat job on 4DS LIS and your nice long walk on the beach! you are doing awesome!

Julie I'm glad to hear you had a better sleep on Thursday night. Congratulations on finishing your Gg and great job tacking on step tabata and 30/20 hiit. whew! that is a big workout, especially the day after giving blood!

Janie Great job on 4DS KB! wow, you got a double workout with your trips to the beach for sand too! Great job!

Thanks for all of the good running karma for Carl, it worked! He had an awesome race! It's the biggest meet of the year with schools from all over the state and only the top runners go. He finished in 8th place overall and 2nd for his school, and his school won the meet. He was on cloud 9! I was so happy for him because he works so hard at it. He got a letter from a college saying they would like him to run on their team, so he was pretty excited about that too. It's not a school that he is interested in going to, but it made him feel pretty good that someone was recruiting him. Since we went to the meet I didn't workout yesterday, ago this morning I did spinervals and then core number 1. I had forgotten what an intense workout that spinervals is. If this heel issue keeps up much longer I may need to get a couple more of those to tide me over. Now I
M off to do laundry and errands. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Pam

This morning I started my modified version of Cathe's August rotation and I am doing a 30 day hip thrust challenge. So it was 3 sets of 20 barbell glute bridges followed by the bootcamp premix from Bodymax 2. No lazy day Sunday today. DH and I have a birthday party to travel to.

Janie Great job on 4DS Kickbox plus lugging all that sand from the beach. Was it harder coming back with the sand?

Pam Great job on your spinervals workout. That is great news for Carl and exciting he was getting college recruiting. Maybe that will be the first of more to come.

Have a great day.

Pam I am glad that the colonoscopy went well. Too funny that you were dreaming while it was being done. At least you won't need to do it for another 10 years. Good job on MM.

Julie I have those mornings when I just can't get up. Glad that you went back to sleep instead of trying to push yourself to do a workout.

Janie Good work on 4DS Bootcamp and lower intensity and kickbox and your walks on the beach with Rolly.

Pam Good job on body max. I guess you need to take a bit more time off of cardio to let your heels rest. I am glad that Carl had a great race. What a nice feeling to be recruited even if it isn't from a school he would like to go to. Good work on spinervals and core #1.

Julie Happy to hear that you had a better night's sleep. Good work on GG and the step tabata and 30/20 hiit. I haven't done any of the challenges from the last series yet. Good job on that and the bootcamp premix from BM2. I hope you enjoyed the birthday party.

It has been busy the last several days. I didn't get a change to start the livefit trainer until Friday. Something came up on Thursday so I didn't get it done. I did manage to do chest and triceps Friday, back and biceps on Saturday and today it was STS disc 3 Legs. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Cheryl

Rest day today and I took full advantage.

Pam, You must congratulate Carl for us. I'm so impressed with him. Bet you were in cloud 9 along with him. Wow working hard like he did pays off. Good for him having a school interested in him to run. Great job on today's spinervals and core #1. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Julie, Great job on 3 sets of 20 barbell glute bridges and the bootcamp prem. from BM2. Enjoy the birthday party. Oh yes it was harder coming back home. I had a hill to go up and got a good start and made it up. Terrific workout.

Cheryl, Life has away of sometimes interrupting what we want to do. Great job on Friday's back and biceps, and
Saturday's and today's STS disc 3 legs.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Great job on BM bootcamp premix and your barbell glute bridges! I hope you had fun at the birthday party!

Cheryl Great job on chest and triceps, back and biceps and STS disc 3! Is there some eating plan associated with the Jamie Eason program too?
I seem to remember that from when Eunice was doing it.

Janie Good for you for taking full advantage of your rest day! I will pass along your congratulations to Carl, thanks!

This morning was TBTUP split for me. That one gets me every time! Happy Monday!

Pam

This morning I did day 2 of the 30 day Hip Thrust Challenge which was 3 sets of max reps single leg hip thrust with a 2 second iso-hold at top. I then added on Step, Jump, Pump Step & Weights Circuit. I came in to work today and checked out my calendar and it is crazy full. I actually started the day getting 4 hours of meetings cancelled (whoo hoo) but then 6 more hours added (what?).

Cheryl Great job on chest and triceps Friday, back and biceps Saturday, and legs on Sunday! The challenge I am doing isn’t Cathe’s challenges. It is from Bret Contreras.

Janie Glad you enjoyed your rest day! Sounds like you needed it after the heavy hill climbs on your bike.

Pam Great job on TBTUP! That one is good but man those pushups slay me. The birthday party was ok and I did not have any cake so I was proud of myself.

Have a great day!

Janie Rest days are good, enjoy.

Pam Yes there is a eating plan too. I haven't followed up with it a closely as I should but I am trying to eat healthy and no processed foods. Good job on TBTUB

Julie Good job on day 2 of the 30 day hip thrust challenge and SJP & weights circuit. Good that you got 4 hours of meetings cancelled but how did you end up with 6 more hours.

Today i did shoulders and then med ball abs. Short post today as I have a cat who is insisting on using my keyboard as a pillow. It is a little hard to type.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

It was an iffy day for walking for Rolly and me, and threatened rain. I had to see the ocean anyway. We spent about a lazy half hr. out there. Did Pure Strength Strong Legs and Abs. Wasn't pretty even modifying, but it got done.

Pam, Great job on TBTUP split. It's a doozy for sure. Good for you.

Julie, Great day for this morning's day 2 of the 30 day Hip Thrust Challenge and the addition of Step, Jump & Pump Step & Weights Circuit. So sorry you had to work an extra 6 hrs. Bummer.

Cheryl, Great job on shoulders and then med ball abs. Love the stability ball for those. Aw our fur babies do make life funny. Enjoy.

Take care,

Janie

Julie Great job on day 2 of the hip thrust challenge and SJP Step and weights circuit! The hip thrusts sound really challenging! Oh man, how frustrating to get 4 hours of meetings cancelled only to have 6 hours added ERRRRR. Hope it wasn't too terrible! The pushups in TBTUP don't get me as badly as the planks with the kickbacks. I am whining by the time I am done with those. Great willpower not having any cake at the birthday party!!!!

Cheryl I think following any really structured eating plan would be tough for me. I'm usually somewhat careful about what I eat, but have to have the occasional indulgences. That was the main thing I remembered when Eunice was doing that program, that I didn't think I could do the eating plan! Great job on shoulders and med ball abs. Don't you just love it when the cats need to help you on the computer?:cool:

Janie Good for you getting down to see the ocean despite the rain threat. Great job on PS legs and abs, it's not always pretty, that's why we do it at home where no one can see us :D;)

This morning for me was Gym Style legs and all I can say is ouch! It's hard just sitting in my chair because my quads are talking to me already. I'm a little worried about what that means about tomorrow...... I broke another band while I was doing it so I think I need to break down and buy a new set. All of mine except the really really hard ones are just too short to use now. Luckily it was almost at the end of the workout. I ended up doing the outer thigh lifts on the floor without a band. I was wondering why the ones in the air seemed like they were getting easier....:p Have a great day ladies!

Pam

This morning was Day 3 of the HT challenge which was a pyramid set of heavy hip thrusts: 10, 6, 4, and 20. Then I added on the Overall Legs premix from Butts & Guts. My favorite way to do B&G!

Cheryl Great job on shoulders and med ball abs! That is actually my favorite abs circuit. Too cute! Those fur babies sure do like to let us know when they want our full attention.

Janie Great job on PS Legs and Abs! Not being pretty is ok. As you said, you got it done. Mmmmm …. Lazy time at the beach sounds nice to me. Glad you didn’t get rained on.

Pam Great job on GSL! I love that workout except that last set of slow lunges. I do those without weight and still cry and don’t go as deep as Cathe. Wow! Do you think the bands are breaking because you are super strong or because you are taller and they have to stretch farther? Oh, I had forgotten about the plank kickbacks. Those are toughies.

Have a great day!

Road the tricycle today and got more sand about 3 times. It took a good 45-50 min. to do going up hill on the way home. Then Rolly and I walked on the beach and goofed off for 45 min.

I got some kind of a bug bite on my right ankle yesterday and felt it all during the night. Tonight it's starting to swell, so but cortisone cream on it and some ice in hopes it helps.

Pam, Great job on GSL and yes I know it must have hurt. Good job! Does that mean DOM's tomorrow? Yea, the bands only last so long.

Julie, Good job on this morning's Day 3 of the HT challenge. The Hip Thrusts. Whew! Sounds intense. Good for you. Also for the add on of Overall Legs premix from B&G. I can see why it would be your favorite way to do the B&G.

Take care,

Janie

Julie Great job on the HT challenge and B&G overall legs pre-mix. I haven't tried that pre-mix, I will have to check it out. I don't think I'm getting any stronger, I just think that the bands start stretching with use and after awhile they just break. It is possible that being taller makes that happen faster, I hadn't really thought about that. OMG yes, that last set of sow lunges in GSL is a killer!

Janie Great job on your sand max workout! It sounds like you got some bonus beach time with Rolly too, good for you! Oh that bug bite sounds nasty! I do hope that the cortisone and the ice took care of it! It's amazing what havoc those tiny little creatures can wreak on us, isn't it?! I do have some DOMS today, but nothing like I was expecting, mostly in my calves. That Cathe sure knows how to kill the calves!

With this issue with my achilles my rotation has been totally blown. Oh well, I'm making do so far, and I have another 2 weeks of travel coming up. So this morning I continued with the Gym Styles and did chest and triceps. Push up heaven (or maybe some other place.....), then core number 2. I woke up during the night to go to the bathroom and I thought I might start crying because my calves hurt so much when I took a step  Luckily they tend to loosen up pretty quickly with movement, but I'm going to be dealing with that every time I stand up today. I was watching some of the 9/11 memorial services this morning, so sad. I can't believe it has been 12 years already. Have a great day ladies,

Pam

Today was day 4 of the Hip Thrust challenge with 2 sets of max reps of a hip thrust march. I had never done this before and could really feel it in my glutes. I also did KPC but had to skip the abs because I was running out of time.

Janie Great job on your sand trip plus walking and goofing off with Rolly! I bet he really loves the beach. I hope your bug bite heals up quick. Those are so annoying when they are itchy like that.

Pam Great job on GSCT plus core 2! I wouldn’t call that pushup heaven but maybe another word starting with “he.” GSL always kills my calves and I have DOMS for days. I can’t believe it has been 12 years either. Definitely a sad day.

Have a good day!

[QB]Julie[/B] Great job on day 4 of the hip thrust challenge. I have no idea what a hip thrust march is, sounds interesting though! Great job on KPC also! Yes, I was thinking that other he word for the pushups too, I was just trying to be nice :p My calves are still screaming at me today, maybe even worse than yesterday.

In my continued quest to be kind to my ankles I did Cyclemax this morning. I know I said that I liked working up to the hovers, but man, I was really dead bu the time we got to them. I think she needs a premix where they are more in the middle......:D Wow, can't believe it is Thursday already. I hope everyone has a good one!

Pam

This morning I did another day from the hip thrust challenge. It was glute bridges with a 45 lb. barbell for max reps. I got 40. Then I did High Step Training. I really enjoyed that one because a lot of the moves seem to be compound or work upper and lower together.

Pam Great job on CM! Actually Ride has the hovers in the middle and I don’t mind them there. Maybe it is them being at the end of Cycle Max that kills me and why I always do the scrambled premix there. The hip thrust march was interesting and actually had a little cardio affect to it.

Have a great day!

Yesterday's workout was Pure Strength Series Biceps and Abs and just now finished today's workout on the mountain climber for 30 min. Haven't used this contraption for a very long time. Feels good too.

Pam, The cortisone did not work neither did the ice, and I also tried Mercurochrome and ice again and that didn't work either. The redness is getting larger and I'm getting scard a lttle. I went on line and found an herbal doctor to use 2 prts soda to 1 part salt (I and her used Himalayan salt). The instant I put it on it stopped itching. Let's hope using this for a few days will get rid of it. I'm fairly certain it will. Wow what a relief! I love the herbs to heal our bodies instead of taking meds. I know meds have thier place but in this case I'm thrilled. I hate using penicillin because it gives me a yeast infection almost immediately. Let's see what happens.

Take care of your achilles/calves and I'm so sorry you have to go through this. You even did Gym Styles and did chest and triceps. Push ups and core number 2. Push Up Heaven? I think not! LOL You amaze me, good for you for not letting things get you down.

Me too, watching memorials of 9-11. It was so sad and still is.

Julie, Great job on day 4 of the Hip Thrust challenge with 2 sets of max reps of a hip thrust march. Wow! Also for doing KPC minus the abs.

Pam, Great job on Cyclemax this morning. Good Going!

Julie, Great job for yet another day of the hip thrust challenge. And also High Step Training. Those challenges sound intense. Makes me want to too.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Great job on the glute bridges with a 45 pound barbell. Wow! And High Step training too, you are awesome. I really love HST too! Well maybe I need to get Ride, I think I would like the hovers in the middle. It seems like they are too soon on the scrambed pre-mix but too late in the regular version.

Janie Great job on PS biceps and abs and 30 minutes of mountain climbers. I have never heard of a mountain climber machine, sounds interesting. I'm not sure I could do mountain climbers to 30 minutes though..... Oh man, I sure hope your soda and salt remedy did the trick for your bit, it sounds very scary to me! That is very promising that the itching stopped so fast!
Can't let a little pain get me down - if I did I'd be down most of the time ;):p Believe it or not my calves are STILL store, but at least I can touch them today without crying :D That is progress!

This morning I finished up the Gym Styles with Back, shoulders and biceps and did the abs from LIC. Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do tomorrow....... I'm thinking I may take a cue from Janie and do the Pures Strength series next week. Happy Friday the 13th ladies! I started mine with a black cat sitting staring at me, but of course that is how every day starts for me :D

Pam
