Strength in Numbers

This morning I did STS Shoulders, Biceps, and Triceps. I think I am getting burned out on doing heavy weight work right now. I have two weeks left of this rotation and then I think I might take a few weeks just to do whatever and maybe some circuits. I miss some of the circuits like Boot Camp and High Step Challenge.

Janie Great job on your KickMax premix plus your walk with Rolly! You are doing great. You definitely need to have lesser intense days to help your body and mind recover. Keep up the good work!

Pam Great job on HST! That is a good one and I do like the leg presses. I’m sorry about your shoulder. Dips can definitely aggravate them. Sometimes I think my shoulder feels it more than my triceps. I am positive I strained my back during the deadlifts but I don’t remember feeling it while I was doing them only later. Funny how the aches and pains sneak up on us sometimes. I am thinking we will have the new workouts around the 3rd week of September. Getting exciting!

Have a great day!

Starting tomorrow and through the rest of the month we will be having family over. Tonight I fidgeted and put things away, hung up some of my art work, did this and that for getting ready for tomorrows clean day. The only thing was to take a walk on the beach with Rolly. Still very windy. Our son David and his wife Miros and our grandson Adriane and another grandson we will be taking care of named Anthony, will be here for dinner and through the weekend plus first part of next week. Wedns. The Staffords will be here, Our daughter Tina, Son In Law Sid, and another grandson Chase. They will be here at the end of Aug. It's going to be a very busy and fun time. Not sure if there is enough time for exercising in this single wide mobile home/BH. LOL

Pam, Great job on this mornings High Step Training. How I love that workout! But leg presses are good for us. LOL There is no way I ever could do the one arm dip. Modified that one. Oh no! Do have your shoulder looked at if you are hurting.

Julie, Great job on this mornings STS Shoulders, biceps and triceps. You are planning the right way by listening to your body and getting it healed from the heavy lifting. Then like you said a few weeks of something entirely different. That will really mix things up and confuse the body. When you do start lifting heavy again your body will respond by being able to lift heavier. Good for you!

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Great job on STS Shoulders, Biceps, and Triceps. I can understand getting burned out on the heavy lifting, you have been doing it for awhile. A couple weeks of doing whatever you want can be a lot of fun. Cathe's August rotation has a lot of those old circuit workouts in it and I am enjoying it so far. Yep, I was thinking about you while I was doing all of those leg presses yesterday and wishing I liked them as much as you do :D

Janie Oh it sounds like you have a fun few weeks coming up, how wonderful! I'm sure you will be very busy and even if you don't get to do Cathe workouts with all of the people around I bet you will get some nice walks on the beach in. Oh yes, leg presses are good for us, but do we have to do so MANY???;) Most of the time my shoulder feels fine, it's just when I try to do certain things. I have noticed that it seems to be getting steadily worse though.....errrr

This morning was CCC again. I feel like I have done that one a lot lately because it's one that I can do when I travel. I did PCCC and it was hard! It's a nice quick and efficient one though. I'm so glad it's Friday, I'm ready for a weekend and we have NO PLANS. :D Have a great weekend ladies.

Pam

This morning was Gorgeous Glute work and 40/20. Had to take extra break time with 40/20 but I did it. Tonight DH and I are staying the night at my parents so we can get a jump start on the day helping them. Next week they are having a house warming party so we have to make sure the boxes are all unpacked or out of sight.

Janie How fun to have family over! I am sure your grandsons will keep you busy and entertained. Great job on your walk and working on getting the house ready. That is what I am hoping for that a couple of weeks off of lifting heavy will rejuvenate my mind and body to come back stronger. I just have to get through these last two weeks.

Pam Great job on PCCC! I don’t think CCC (or PCCC) ever gets easier does it. I will have to take a look at the August rotation again. I looked at it when it came out and remember thinking it looked good but I don’t remember the details. I hope your weekend continues to remain plan free. Those are the best and needed on occasion.

Have a great day!

OK I think I have things going smoothly now. I think I have been so tired because of the longer hours I have been working. So last week I decided to go off my flex hours and not get that extra day off every two weeks and just work normal hours. I adjusted them last week and I am already feeling like I have more energy. When I thought back on it I really did start feeling drained when I started working that extra hour. I want to get back to working out in the mornings again since too many things seem to come up in the afternoon. I will have more time in the evenings so I should be able to start posting regularly again. All of you have been doing really well and I hope to be as consistent as all of you again. I did manage to get a couple of workouts in last week. Thursday I did the total body premix of Total Body Trisets, Tuesday I did the cardio only premix in Hardstrikes and this morning I did Slide and Glide. It is also cooling down here too so that is really helping with the energy.

Today we went to Westport and walked about the shops. We went to a lot of floats searching for fresh caught tuna. We found none. Ended up with ling cod. Decided to walk the boardwalks and talk to the locals catching crab and to watch the boats come in and out of the marina. Took a couple of hours or so, and it was delightful. Got home and took out the giant bubble solution I prepared the night before, and caught some amazing photos of everyone having fun with these awesome bubbles. Then we settled down to our home cooked fresh ling cod. So yummy. The Stafford's (our other daughter, grandson and son in law decided to come over in September the end of the first week. I have time to catch up and clean house for them too. LOL And start all over again. However we are going to have Anthony (another grandson) come visit on his own. His mother will drop him off on Sun. and he will stay with us until Wednesday.

Pam, Great job on CCC. It's a good one and so much better then not doing a workout at all. It kicks my butt every time I do it. LOL PCCC, good job on that one. Enjoy your weekend.

Julie, Great job on the mornings Gorgeous Glute and 40/20. Yeah, I hear ya having to take a break. You did it! I bet you are glad the moving part is almost over. The house warming party sounds like a lot of fun. I think you are right about taking a couple of weeks off. I know you will be able to lift heavier. Isn't it exciting!?! The Two weeks remaining will fly by.

Cheryl, So glad you figured out what you needed for things to go smoothly for you. I like your plan to workout in the mornings. Since there are so many distractions during the day. And it benefits us because we get to here more of you. Great job on Thursdays Total Body prem of Total Body Trisets and Tuesdays cardio only premix in HS. And this mornings Slide and Glide.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Janie You had a nice day today. The bubbles look like a lot of fun. You will be having a busy few weeks with visitors.

This morning I did a premix from KPC and segment 3 of stretch max. After that it was a bit of a lazy day.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Cheryl

Mirros, Adriane and David and Joe and I had a last fling with the beach (well, we thought). Brought out the bikes, some of us walked and had a great time at the beach. Even took the giant bubble solution and made huge huge bubbles that kept going up so far and because of the fog that lingered, it disappeared. So cool! After we got back home we had more visitors. Anthony (grandson), His Mom(our daughter) and Dad(son in law). More bubbles for Anthony this time. He seemed to love them. Then Adriane, David and Miros went back home. We went to the beach yet again and played around with the bikes. Then of course his parents left him(Anthony) with us. So all in all I had 1 hr. at least of cardio today. Whew! LOL OK, won't be this detailed in my next post. LOL Burned up calories today.

Cheryl, Great job on this mornings prem from KPC and segment 3 of SM.

Take care,

Janie

Julie Great job on GG and 40/20 on Friday, wow, that is quite the combo! how fun that your parents are having a housewarming party! I keep hoping that CCC will get easier, but you're right, it never does! The weekend did stay plan free for the most part, except that I forgot it was the parents run for the XC team on Saturday morning, but that wasn't too much.

Cheryl oh I'm so glad to hear that you figud out what was going on and that things are going more smoothly for you now. I know that was really frustrating for you and it makes a lot of sense that the longer hours at work were wearing you out. I'm sure it was nice having every other Friday off, but it's not worth it if you're just constantly exhausted as a result! it looks like you sre off to a great start already. Great job on TBT, HS, and S and G! It's great that the weather is starting to cooperate too.

Janie Janie, sorry you weren't able to find fresh tuna but the long cod sounds delicious too. Fresh tuna was what we had Saturday night for dinner. W have a fantastic fish market here that has super fresh fish. It sounds like a lot of fun walking around the shoos and the boardwalk. I'm really think Inge about making one of those giant bubble makers for the beach this weekend. It looks soooo cool! I just love your pictures! How nice that you get time to clean between guests :D;) yep, PCCC kicks my butt every time!

Cheryl Great job on you KPC and stretch max!

Janie what a great beach day you had, what fun! The bubbles in the fog sound so cool! And it sounds like you got a great workout in the process too. What a bargain! Great job and I love hearing all the details!

So as I was telling Julie, Saturday morning was the parents run for the cross country team. Most of the parents waked, but we ran (or really jogged) 3 miles. My legs are still feeling it today! Then we did a lot of work around the house and went for a ski in the afternoon. Sunday was my rest day and I spent it doing laundry, grocery shopping, and making some ice cream for our trip to the beach next weekend. This morning the original Boot Camp was on the calendar. But I did body max 2 instead since I missed that one on Saturday because of the run. I had some extra time because I was up early and didn't have to leave home til later this morning because I am waiting while my DH has his colonoscopy this morning. My time is coming in a couple of weeks  I was completely spent by the end! Happy Monday,

Pam

Yesterday was a lazy day Sunday after I did GG work plus M3 Chest and Back. After that 90 minute workout, I was ready for lazing around. This morning was Imax 3. I made it through with only taking an extra 10 second pause to rest extra! Whoo hoo!

Cheryl That sounds like a good plan to work on getting your energy together. Great job on the workouts you got in last week, TBT, HS Cardio, and Slide and Glide. Great job on KPC plus SM3! Sundays are a great day to be lazy.

Janie Sounds like you are having a great time and getting in exercise with walking the shops and fish markets. Those pictures are amazing. Great job on getting in more cardio on the beach. See you are getting in a good amount of exercise with your family around. Can’t wait to hear more of your family adventures.

Pam Great job on your 3 mile jog on Saturday! Your Sunday doesn’t sound like much of a rest day but at least you got a lot done. Great job on BM2! That is such a long one so good thing you had the extra time. Although you should have thrown some terminator climbers in just for fun!

Have a great day!

Janie What a fun day you had. Cardio doesn't seem like work when you are having fun.

Pam It was nice having every other Friday off but you are right it isn't worth it if I am exhausted all the time. I have enough vacation time that I can take the occasional Friday off like I am doing this Friday to get a four day weekend. Good for you in jogging 3 miles. That is tough if you normally don't run. Are you sure Sunday was your rest day :D? It sounds like you were busy. Good job on BM2 too. A colonoscopy isn't fun. I hope everything went well.

Julie Good job on your GG work and M3 Chest and Back. Good work on Imax 3 and taking only a 10 second pause to rest.

So I didn't get up to workout this morning but I got it done right after work. I did MMA Fusion and I could tell I have been slacking off with the workouts. Funny how I am home an hour earlier got my workout in had dinner and cleaned up the kitchen showered and I still have a lot of time before I need to go to bed. It was also a lot darker this morning going to work. I can tell that Fall is on its way.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on GG and M3 Chest and Back on Sunday AND Imax 3 with hardly any extra rest on Monday!! I think you earned your lazing around for the rest of Sunday! You are soooo smart, I can NOT believe I didn't think of throwing in some terminator climbers just for fun on Monday :p:rolleyes::D Somehow I forgot to add them in this morning too.....

Cheryl That is great that you will still be able to take some Fridays off when you need them. I am taking this Friday and making my weekend a 4 day weekend too. Mainly so I can get stuff ready to take to the beach with us for the weekend. Yes, everything went fine with the colonoscopy - no polyps or issues so he doesn't have to do it again for 10 years. Mine is next Wednesday and I am not looking forward to that prep. It will be hard to go a day with no food! great job on MMA Fusion! That is so awesome that you got all of that in after work and still had time to spare before bedtime. I hate that it is getting darker in the mornings .... Summer has flown by.

This morning for me was supposed to be Step Jam, but I don't like that one, so I did another oldie that I do like - Step Works. My Achilles are really tight and tender right now, so I'm thinking I may need to take a week off of cardio and let them recover. We'll see if I can last a week with nothing but weight work. Have a great day ladies!

Pam

This morning I did Gorgeous Glute work plus additional back work. My squats were back up to par this morning and I was one happy camper.

Cheryl Great job on MMA Fusion after work! Did you enjoy those turtle spins? That is great that you had extra time even after getting all your stuff done. I’ve noticed it being darker earlier in the morning and evening too. I like Fall but the dark makes me a little sad.

Pam Great job on Step Works! I don’t think I like Step Jam either. Can’t remember since it has been a long time since I did that one. Uh oh! I hope you heal up fast. I know that will be torture for you to not have cardio for a week but you are smart in taking a break so you can get better.

Have a great day!

My attention was everywhere except at the computer. Rainy, very windy and horrible weather outside. We played games with our 11 year old grandson until we were blue in the face. LOL If it was his idea he'd be watching cartoons all day. Today so far, is misty and I need to go to the store for food. This kids eats! He'll be coming with me. Maybe we can find other entertainment somewhere. With all the bodies in the house, there was no room for exercising yesterday. The day before yesterday Joey and I had fun on the beach. Didn't get a photo of Anthony yet, but I will.

Pam, We have wonderful fresh fish shops too. (Say that 10 times fast) LOL. But the shops sell out most the there products in the morning. We were there in the afternoon. Not much to pick from at that time of day. LOL I'll give you instructions for making the bubble kit. Get two long plant stakes/sticks, a cotton mop head only and take it apart and look at the photo on how to put it together. (Don't use any nylon) Or if you are like me, crochet the cotton string and then put it together as described above. The last bubble photo shows what it looks like, just copy what you see. Use 1 1/4 cup of non ultra Joy and 1/4 cup of Dawn Ultra dish soap, 4 oz. of personal lubricant. Yep, you read it right. Any brand will do.LOL:eek: and stir it with a whisk until well blended, then add and stir at the same time 1 gal. of warm water. I have a well, and most people use distilled water. Let it sit for a day before you use it.

When you get the hang of it, (won't take long) and if it doesn't really keep the bubble active in the air, then add just a little more Dawn Ultra like 1/4 cup each time. Give it a chance first though. I want to see photos after this weekend. Wow! Congrats on the jogging for 3 miles. You have so much energy, by cleaning and skiing after that. I'm so impressed. Love the sound of your rest day too. I can't wait to hear about this weekends fun. Great job this morning on Body Max 2. Colonoscopy is not fun, but proud of you guys doing it. So important to do.

Cheryl, Great job on getting in MMA Fusion. Wow you did all that when you got home? Very impressive Oh yes, Fall is coming, the nights are getting colder. I wake up shivering sometimes. Brrrrrrrrr.

Pam, Great job on Step Works. Good plan to rest your Achilles. Very smart to prevent injury.

Julie, Great job on GG and additional back work. Yea for your squats! Those are hard for me.

Take care ladies,

Janie

After this mornings hour walking and beach combing, this afternoon, the weather turned nice and sunny and around 80 degrees. Joey, Anthony and I went bike riding right after we ate lunch to burn calories. We biked to a nearby beach about a half hour then walked the beach at Wash Away Beach (homes and trees are being washed away from the erosion) for another 30 min. and then another 30 min. going back home. Total Burned about 500 calories or a little more for the day. Now that's more like it!

Janie

Pam I am glad everything went well with DH colonoscopy. Nice that he doesn't need to do it again for another 10 years. Yuck a day with no food, I would have a hard time with that as well. Good job on Step Works that is a fun workout. It probably would be a good idea to take some time off from cardio to let you achilles recover. Oh come on.....weight work isn't so bad :D.

Julie Good work on your GG and back work. Glad to hear that your squats are back up to par. I enjoyed those turtle spins and thought of you when I was doing them. I love Fall and I don't mind that it is darker earlier it makes it easier to fall asleep.

Janie You are having terrible weather. We were suppose to have the same weather as you but so far it is holding off. I love your trikes they look like a lot of fun.

Well tonight it took a while to get in the door so I just did segment 2 of stretch max. Tomorrow I will take as my day off and see if I can get my workout in Thursday morning. So today the 2nd largest Victoria's Secret opened in Vancouver. So I thought I would go there on my lunch break to check it out. Yeah right......the line up was so long that it would take at least an hour to get in the door. Since I work close by I can just wander past tomorrow and see what it is like. I used to do a lot of catalog shopping through Victoria's Secret but I haven't for a while now.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on GG and back work! I'm glad to hear that you are back to normal on your squats again. I know that has to make you feel much better! The good news about taking a break from cardio is that we are going to the beach for the weekend and then I have my colonoscopy on Wednesday, so I won't really have that many days that I could do Cathe. I do need to go for some walks on the beach though!

Janie Oh yuck, that sounds like a dreadful weather day. It sounds like you made the most of it with your grandson though. Funny, I think they would all be happy watching cartoons. I used to force our kids to go outside to play when they were younger and it was like a was torturing them. Imagine not being able to watch TV or play video games! I love your pictures on the bikes, that looks like a lot of fun. You have me thinking I should take my bike to the beach this weekend...I wonder if that would bother my ankles?:rolleyes: Probably...... HA! You would have crocheted your string for your bubble maker, I don't think I'll be doing that! I am not sure yet if I'll have time to make one before we go, but I am going to try. They look like so much fun. That is quite the interesting solution for the bubbles! :p:eek:
So glad to hear that the weather cleared up for you and you were able to get outside and enjoy the beach some more. Wow, you got quite the workout in, I'm impressed!

Cheryl Yes, I am really dreading the day with no food on Tuesday. You can have softdrinks so I'm thinking maybe if I have a pepsi the sugar will help me not feel so hungry. You can also have jello, popsicles, broth. None of those things sound very exciting. They day before DH had his, he kept asking me what we were having for dinner the next night. :) You are right, weight work isn't so bad, I guess......;) Great job on stretch max. I should be doing that more (do I sound like a broken record.....?) Oh wow, there is no way I would wait over an hour just to get in a store, that is crazy. I'm sure that excitement will die down soon and then you can go in and check it out at a more leisurely pace.

This morning I ended up doing no workout. My alarm went off and I got out of bed and was across the room and decided that I would rather stay in bed, so I went back to bed for another hour! I was super tired Monday and Tuesday and feel good now so I think I needed it. I was telling my DH about my achilles hurting last night and he felt it and said that it feels like it is swollen. I told him I was going to take a break from cardio and that today was a weight day anyway. He got concerned because he thought I was saying that I was only going to rest it for one day. Hmm...I think he might know me too well. :D Happy Hump Day!

Pam

This morning was a blast from the past with Cardio Kicks. I haven’t done that one in forever. I love the guys in that one. The big guy always makes me smile and I love when Cathe makes them come to the front of the class during the punching sequences at the end.

Janie So glad you are having fun with your family. I love the pictures. Wow that is quite a workout with all that biking and walking. It is good for your grandson too. Sometimes I think kids these days don’t want to be active because they think being outside is boring. Although maybe that is just my nieces and nephews.

Cheryl Great job on SM2! I really need to take a cue from you and start doing more stretching. I was in the habit of doing it once a week for a while and then that went out the door. That is true that it getting darker out earlier makes it easier to fall asleep. I used to get a lot from VS too. I haven’t really gotten anything from there for a while. I do occasionally get a coupon for free undies that I use.

Pam Great job on listening to your body! I almost did that today but DH got out of bed so I decided I better too. LOL! Our DH’s know us too well. Mine would probably have a stroke if I didn’t work out for more than 1 day in a row. Take care of your heel. Just doing walks on the beach instead of high intensity cardio hopefully will get the swelling down and you back to jumping with Cathe in no time.

Have a great day!

Took an hour walk on the beach with Anthony and Rolly. Saw a dead seal partly decomposed and it's head was like a skeleton. Sad. Calories burned about 222. Anthony will be leaving tomorrow and then the Staffords will be here Fri. night and will stay until Sun. Better make some more bubble solution. Need to get ready for my "Artist In Action" at the Gallery on Labor Day. Here is a photo of Antony enjoying his surroundings.
407460893.jpg

Cheryl, Glad to see you stretching. Oh how fun to go to the 2nd largest Victoria Secret. When you do keep us posted on it.

Pam, I don't know if bike riding would bother your ankles. Try it out, I have a feeling it wouldn't. Don't blame you for going back to bed instead of working out. You have been doing a lot lately and most likely needed that extra rest. Try continue with your plan and not do cardio for a week. You may need it.

Julie, Great job with Cardio Kicks. Yeah me too, about the guys in there. Refreshing to see other members in the DVD.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Pam Yuck none of what you can eat sounds too exciting. It was crazy at VS all day. I don't think the line up stopped until the store closed. Sometimes you just need to go back to bed and sleep. I know that feeling well . If you achilles is swollen it would be a good idea to give it a rest and not do cardio for a bit.

Julie Good work on Cardio Kicks. When Cathe gets the guys to come up front you can tell that they had no idea that would happen. I think that is what makes it so good. I find that stretching is the first thing to not do as it doesn't seem as important as the cardio and weights. I used to order from VS almost every month back in the 90s. Actually I don't think I told you guys that DH had kept all of my catalogs and had been in boxes for years. Recently he saw an ad on Craig's List from someone looking for old VS catalogs. Well I had about 150 of them and we got about $500 for them. Umm I would have just recycled them but DH thought they may be worth something one day.

Janie You have been doing a lot with Anthony I bet all of you had a lot of fun. Nice picture of him too. Not nice to see a dead seal on the beach.

Today was my day off, tomorrow I will be back at it. So I did get into the VS store today though I couldn't stay long as I had to get to a meeting. Wow it is a nice store and lots and lots of bras panties perfume and other things. It is two stories and it was still crowded. I will have to go back when I have more time.
