Strength in Numbers

So sorry I have been MIA! I forgot to tell you that I had a two day class on Tuesday and Wednesday and would not be able to post. I did get my Gorgeous Glute work in on Tuesday, KPC in on Wednesday, and STS M3 Shoulders, Biceps, and Triceps in this morning. Now I am trying to get unburied from the all the work I missed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Janie Glad you are feeling better. Great job on your walk with Rolly! I like the idea of starting with yoga or stretching. Your body will be so happy! Great job on your walk and getting out to the mall. Oh boy that doesn’t sound like something I would want to find on a beach. I’m guessing you don’t find that often though.

Pam Great job on BM cardio! I can really only do Cathe’s long workouts like BM, BM2, BG on Sundays or a holiday when I am not working. Just cannot justify getting up earlier to do them during the week. Great job on subbing PUB for DM after a late night. I like watching Iron Chef but I am not sure I would eat some of the things they serve. Great job on getting DM in! Have a good time with your BIL and SIL!

Cheryl I hope you are seeing (or feeling) cooler days!

Have a great day!

Rolly and I walked the beach where the mammal had died and took a photo of it. I don't know why.:rolleyes: Walked about 30 min.

Pam, Great job on this mornings Drill Max. I can imagine your muscle reacting to it from the PUB yesterday. Yikes! Enjoy you BIL and SIL visiting and have fun.

Julie
, Not a problem being MIA, life has a way of doing it. Besides, you always come back and that's what's important. Great job on the two day classes and for Gorgeous Glute on Tues., KPC on Wedn. and STS M3 shoulders, biceps and triceps this morning. Try to get some time in-between to breath. LOL

Take care,

Janie

Julie I'm glad to hear that it was just a class that was keeping you from posting, I was getting a little worried about you. Great job on GG, KPC, and STS M3 shoulders, bis and tris! I hope you were able to get caught up at work. Yes, some of the Iron Chef stuff is really scary, that's why I was really happy we got good ingredients. I think they have to play it a little safer for the general public!

Janie[/B[ Great job on your beach walk. Not sure I would want a picture of the blubbler, but you never know! :p

It was nice seeing the BIL and SIL. The other BIL and SIL who live here and some of their kids came for dinner as well. I did get up and do my workout this morning too - XTrain disc 5 legs. Happy Friday everyone!

Pam

This morning I did Gorgeous Glutes work and added on 30/30 which was more like 25/35 sometimes. HiiT is hard but man after working your booty with heavy hip thrusts and kettlebell swings, whew!!! So DH may be buying a new car, well Jeep, tomorrow. And by new I mean new to us. It is actually a 2004. I haven’t seen it yet but DH says it is fancy with heated leather seats, dual climate control, and a sunroof. We have never had a vehicle with so many perks. Kind of makes me mad DH gets to have it.

Janie Great job on your walk with Rolly! I think it is just one of those things that it is interesting so you need to take a picture of it. Like not being able to not watch when you pass an accident. Yes I will always come back. I enjoy talking to you ladies way too much to not come back!

Pam Great job on getting your workout in with XT Legs! I feel much more caught up today than yesterday. I am also filling in for someone who is on vacation this week and next so that does not help. Well it does help the days go by fast!

Have a great day!

Another walk with Rolly on the beach for about 40 min. There was fog and a few times it broke away and looked like clouds/ghosts(lol) going by. One of them hit me, or went right through me. So Cool! It was an amazing day. Warm and humid, and even my hair got damp with droplets of water. Wow, who knew this kind of weather on the beach. Love it!

Pam, Glad you enjoyed seeing BIL & SIL and the others and their kids too. Great job on XTrain disc 5 legs.

Julie, Great job on this mornings Gorgeous Glutes work and the addition of 30/30. Oh how I miss that one. I think I'll do it Monday then a nice relaxing yoga or stretch. You sounds like you enjoyed the workouts too. Good for you! I ride in a Jeep Wrangler all the time. Truly is a fun vehicle to have. It doesn't have the fancy stuff like your hubbies, but it's OK. LOL Maybe it's time for you to have a vehicle to your liking too?

Take care,

Janie

OK back again . I can't believe the trouble I am having trying to find the energy to workout. Monday I was too tired to do a workout and Tuesday I was going to do it after dinner but our neighbour came over and didn't leave until 8pm and I still had to make my lunch and get the dishes done :(. Wednesday we get groceries so couldn't do it then and Thursday I was so tired I almost fell asleep on the train. On the bright side Friday was my day off so I did Cardio and Weights. After that I got some housework done and then we looked after our neighbours dog for a couple of hours. They were having some work done in their place and didn't want to leave him there while they were out. Today I did Lower Body Blast without the cardio blast. Hopefully I can get back to my old self soon. I am really tired of feeling tired. All of you are doing great. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Cheryl

Cleaning day today: Laundry, all floors, dusted, and now making squash soup with chicken.

Cheryl, Wonder if you should get checked out by a doctor. You do seem to be tired a lot. I worry about you. Do you have a low grade fever? Great job on Friday's Cardio & Weights and house work. Great job on Lower Body Blast without the cardio blast. Hey, that's a good one. You should pat yourself on the shoulder.

(hugs to you),

Janie

At the tail end of this horrific cold and decided today will be the day to start exercising again. I did Yoga Max prem. 1, 32 min. and Rolly and I walked fast on the beach for 45 min. It was sooooooooo goooooood! I did a total of 77 min on workouts and burned 256 calories. No a bad start.

Having spaghetti squash spaghetti with broccoli in it for dinner tonight (one serving) along with my fizzed tea water kefir. And later will have a protein green smoothy. Yummmmmm. Very healthy! Oh, for breakfast had a banana. I know, that's not much. Really didn't feel like anything else. For lunch I had organic chicken sausage with good ingredients inside. I know, I love this stuff. ONly two of them with yet another banana. Banana's are getting ripe. Need to think about using them in a healthy way. Ideas?

Janie

Janie Good job on clean max. I have been checked by a doctor and I am in Stage 3 of Chronic Kidney Disease so I need to have blood tests every 6 months now. It can cause fatigue and I guess that is what I am dealing with. Otherwise I am very healthy. It is a bit frustrating but something that I need to deal with. I am glad to hear that you are at the end of your cold and was able to start exercising again. Good work on your Yoga Max premix and your fast walk on the beach with Rolly. Your dinner sounds healthy. I am going to roast a chicken on the BBQ for dinner tonight. The only way I know of using up ripe bananas is to make banana bread. Not sure how healthy it is but it sure does taste good.

This morning I did yoga relax and then we went to a local car show. It rained a bit but after all the heat it actually felt nice that it was a lot cooler.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on GG and 30/30 (or 25/35 ;)) on Friday! Wow, you are the woman doing that after all of the heavy hip thrusts and kettlebell swings. Way to go! Did your hubby get his new jeep this weekend? It sounds really nice. It's amazing all of the bells and whistles that they come up with for car these days! Wow filling in for someone while missing a couple of days for a class must have been really tough. Glad you got mostly caught up!

Janie Great job on you long walk on the beach. The clouds sound like they were so cool to see! How fun! Great job on clean and cook max!
So happy that you were feeling well enough to start exercising again. Great job on yoga and your fast walk on the beach. 77 minutes of exercise is something to be proud of on your best day, great job!! It sounds like you are really doing a great job of eating healthy too, good for you!

Cheryl Great job on Cardio and Weights, clean max and Lower Body Blast! Great job on yoga max too. I bet the car show was fun! Sorry to hear that you are still having such low energy issues :(

I didn't work out at all over the weekend. Saturday I had an all day cooking class which was really fun. It was at the restaurant where I have done a couple of classes before. This one was northern Italian cuisine. We made gnocchi with a red pepper cream sauce, roast pork, Chicken liver pate, fava bean crostini, fried zucchini, and tripe with a white bean sauce. I was surprised because I really loved the pate and I don't usually like it. The tripe was actually pretty good too, but probably not something I will ever make. The food was sooooo rich though that I felt terrible Sunday morinng. We did go and get a ski in though. I didn't ski my best, probably because I wasn't feeling great and it was really windy. Skiing made me feel better though. This morning was Step, Jump and Pump. I hadn't done that one in awhile, so it was a fun change. Have a great Monday everyone.

Pam

Saturday DH and I went a picked up his “new” Jeep. It is actually a 2004 so it is not really new but new to us. It is pretty nice. We’ve never had a vehicle with so many gadgets and features. Anyway, after that, I went to my mom’s and did some laundry and cleaning for her. Sunday I did Gorgeous Glute work plus 3 sets of M3 Chest and Back. Cutting M3 down to 3 sets helped shave almost 30 minutes so I am down to 90 minutes on Sundays which is much more doable. I think I over did the weight on the deadlifts though because my back is pretty sore and I have to be careful how I move. I did get Imax 2 in today but it was not the prettiest since I had to be careful of my back.

Janie Great job on your walk with Rolly! That actually sounds kind of cool to be walking through the mist. DH actually got a Grand Cherokee but he has always talked about wanting to get a Wrangler. I wish I could a new car. It will probably be another 2 or 3 years before I get one though. Great job on CleanMax! Hmmm, squash soup sounds good! Great job on YM premix 1 + 45 beach walk with Rolly! I hope that cold stays gone. I’m not sure what you could do with the bananas. You could freeze them to be added to your smoothies. I was going to say banana bread (YUM) but that probably is not healthy.

Cheryl I’m sorry you are having trouble getting your workouts in during the week. Is there anything they can do for the kidney disease to help with your energy levels? B12 shots or something? Great job on C&W plus CleanMax! Were you singing Buttercup while you cleaned? Great job on LBB without the cardio blasts! That one has some pretty tough moves with all the low ends. Great job on YR! Was it an antique car show? Those are fun.

Pam Oh wow that does sound like a lot of rich food. My tummy would be very upset with me if ate those things. I am not even sure I know what some of those things are. I’ve heard of tripe but only in dog treats and food. I am glad you listened to your body and didn’t work out when you were not feeling well. Seems like you must be feeling better to do SJP which of course is always a good one! I was thinking of you today during the Jeannie hops and for the first time I was really not enjoying them and thankful when they were over. We did get the Jeep. I haven’t driven it yet but this one has the adjustable pedals which is awesome for an under 5 footer like myself!

Have a great day!

Did LowMax prem. 1-4 also modified a whole lot by only using a rug for the step up. met value of 3.0. I burned 166 calories. Walked on the beach with Rolly at 2.5 mph for 50 min. and burned 185 calories. Total calories burned 351. Total time of exercises was 95 min. Had spaghetti squash made into a couple of spaghetti meals and had a fizzy water kefir. Not trying to lose weight but trying to eat better with the right amount of servings. It helps very much with GERD. If I lose weight it's only a bonus.

Very windy/sunny at the beach today and during the time of walking, there wasn't a soul around until I got back to the road. Magnificent!

Thinking of making banana bread with half the sugar, a couple more eggs, some protein powder, with half the bread flour and half coconut flour. Should be OK for breakfast with a banana LOL.

Cheryl, I'm sorry about your Stage 3 with Chronic Kidney Disease. I think you have mentioned that before. I'm so sorry. (hugs) I read about it on the internet and a special diet can help. Are you on an eating program? Did you enjoy your healthy dinner of roast chicken on the BBQ? Great job on this mornings yoga relax. Car show sounds like a lot of fun.

Pam, Don't worry about not working out over the weekend. I think resting is a good thing for your body to catch up and repair itself. OOOo the Italian cuisine cooking class does sound like a lot of fun. I bet is was soooooooooo good. I don't know what tripe is, maybe the stomach? So glad you made time for skiing. Great job on on this mornings Step, Jump & Pump.

Julie, Good job on picking out the vehicle for yourselves. You will be driving it also won't you? How is your mom doing? Great job on Gorgeoud Glute plujs 3 sets of M3 Chest and Back. 90 min. is a fantastic workout. I did my 90 min. today but half in the morning and half during the day. Do be careful with your back. Do you have a roller to help with that? Great ob on today's Imax 2. You did good. Who cares about being pretty doing your exercises. Very proud of you.

Take care everyone,

Janie

This morning my back was feeling better so I did Gorgeous Glute work which included heavy squats for 3 sets of 8. Well, my back decided during the squats that it didn’t want to go heavy today. I got one heavy set out and then had to back of 10 pounds for the next set and another 10 pounds for the last set. The rest of the workout was fine on my back but those squats were just not happening. I am now sitting at work with a heated massager on my low back hoping that helps. I know I didn’t pull anything but it is very sore. I usually love DOMS but not in my low back and not when they compromise my being able to squat heavy!

Janie Great job on LM premix plus walking on the beach with Rolly! You are really doing good at easing back into working out. I love the idea of just trying to eat better without losing weight. I think that is the best way and from what I read, people who don’t put losing weight as a top priority often have more success at long term weight loss/management than those that do put it first. I probably won’t be driving the Jeep as much as DH, maybe once a month or less. It’s not that he won’t let me drive it, it is just I have my own car and whenever we go somewhere together, he drives. I have been rolling my back. I have a tiger tail which I like so much better than the foam rollers.

Have a great day!

Before lunch I did Muscle Max. It was 73 min. long and I believe a met value of 5 so I think I burned 449 calories. Darn! It was suppose to be Kick Max according to the Aug. rotation. Oh well, will do Kick Max tomorrow. Also Rolly and I walked on the beach for 30 min. at 2.5 mph, I figured the met value was 3 and burned 111 calories. Total calories burned today was 560 calories. Yes! Eating very well so far and loving it. No injuries or colds and feel really good and strong.

Julie, Glad to see your back is feeling better and a great job on Gorgeous Glute with heavy squats 3 sets of 8. Wow, you are good. Most importantly you listening to your body. My hubby drives us as well. So I know the feeling. I looked up tiger tail. Looks interesting. I'd like to try it. I'll find a good deal somewhere.

Take care,

Janie

Ooops, I forgot to post yesterday!
Julie Congratulations on the new car!It sounds very nice, sorry you won't be the one driving too often, but you'll still get to enjoy it when you go places together. Great job on GG and M3 Chest and Back. 90 minutes is still a long workout, but definitely better than 2 hours! Uh oh on overdoing the weight on the deadlifts. I did something to my back on Sunday too  Great job getting in an ugly Imax 2 anyway ;) Sorry if I passed my dislike for Jeannie hops along. Oh wow, adjustable pedals, what a great idea!! That is very cool!

Janie Great job on LM and your walk on the beach with Rolly. 351 calories burned is awesome! You have been so good with your healthy eating too, good for you! How nice that you had the place all to your self the other day too. That is soooo relaxing! I forgot about your bananas, but I didn't really have any ideas for you because I don't like bananas. It sounds like you have come up with a great banana bread plan though. Yep, tripe is stomach. This chef seems to know what he's doing with it....he talked to us about soaking it in water and baking powder for like 45 minutes to an hour before you cook it and then cooking it properly. The soak gets rid of the grassy taste and if you cook it too long it is tough. It was interesting to try, but I don't think I'll be cooking it myself. I would definitely make the dish without the tripe though, it was really good!

Julie Sorry to hear that your back is still acting up, but good for you for listening and backing off on the heavy squats. It must be doing better though if you were able to do everything else with no issues. I hope that your heated massager helped. Great job on GG.

Janie Wow, you go girl! Muscle max and a big walk on the beach, great job! You are a calorie burning and healthy eating machine :D I am doing the August rotation now too, but I just started it this week.

I started to post yesterday and then got distracted by something else. Anyway, I did Butts and Gutts yesterday, another one I haven't done in awhile and then KPC today. That one I have done quite a bit! She really has a lot of longer workouts in the rotation this week, I hope that doesn't continue for the whole month. I couldn't make it through all of the pikes this morning without a break  My back was bothering me so not sure if that was the main issue or not. I can usually make through the pikes in this pone so of course I was mad. Oh well, I did take a short break and then finished them so that I at least did the same amount. Happy Hump day!

Pam

This morning I did the scrambled Cycle Max premix. Love getting those hover jumps out of the way. I think Cathe knows I don’t like those because I noticed she put more than 1 segment in the new Pedal Power for me. My back is doing much better. Still a tad stiff but I can move much more freely. Makes me almost want to redo my squats. Almost!

Janie Great job on Muscle Max and your 30 minute walk with Rolly on the beautiful beach! I love Muscle Max! Haven’t done it in forever and may need to do it when I am done with Gorgeous Glutes in a few weeks. Enjoy Kick Max tomorrow! I have heard of people who make their own tiger tail using PVC pipes. I am not that handy so I have to rely on buying my stuff. Keep up the good work on the healthy eating.

Pam No worries on forgetting to post! It happens. It is easy to get distracted when trying to post at work. Great job on B&G and then KPC! Oh my, I’m sorry about your back. Did you do it skiing or some other way? Good for you for taking a rest. I understand it is hard to stop and rest or drop the weight when you know you can normally do it. 90 minutes is long but I figure it is ok since I only do it once a week and then the rest of my week is 60 minutes or less. Cathe does have a habit of putting in long workouts during the week on her rotations. Hope it backs off for you.

Have a great day!

This morning was 20 min. of Kickmax. I used the time saver prem. at met 5 and burned 123 calories. Tonight I walked the beach with Rolly for 30 min. at met 3 at 2.5 mph and burned 111 calories. Total calories burned 234. A far cry from yesterday but needed not to be so harsh today. My body was tired. Ate very well today.

Pam, This is an awsome rotation we are doing! I can't wait to see what Cathe pulls out of her hat next month. Great job on yesterday's B&G and KPC today. You did good doing the pikes you could do! Awesome job. Take care of your back and like you are doing lay off a bit until it feels much better. Oh, thank you for the link on the banana bread recipe. I saved the page.

Julie, Great job on this mornings scrambled Cycle Max prem. You'll have another chance at squats I'm sure. LOL Glad your back is feeling better.

Take Care Everyone,

Janie

Julie Great job on the scrambled cycle max mix. Oh those hover jumps will be haunting you in pedal power huh?! I'm so glad to hear that your back is doing better. Mine feels a little better this morning too. I didn't try any pikes though  I am assuming I did it skiing but I don't really know because I wasn't aware of actually doing anything to it. Just noticed on Monday morning when I got up.

Janie Great job on KM and your walk on the beach. I think it's a good thing that you went a little lighter than Tuesday, you put yourself through the wringer on Tuesday!! Great job on your continued healthy eating too! This is a good rotation so far. Of course I can't remember what comes past this week, but I really liked it when I previewed it. I'm thinking we will have the new workouts sometime within the next month, but probably not in time for her September rotation.....

This morning was High Step Training, another one that I haven't done in ages. I think I remember Julie saying you like all of the leg presses in that one and that's what I DON'T like about it  It always flies by for me though. I was really getting winded during the cardio and I could not do the 1-arm dips at all with my right arm because of my shoulder  I think I may need to have it looked at again. Errrr....anyway, I hope everyone has a great day, one more day til FRIDAY!

Pam
