Whew! I take a morning off from here and you girls go crazy!!

Mel- Sorry about your friend. Good for you for putting your foot down and sticking to your workout schedule.

Priscila- For the month of January my scale was stuck at 140 for about 6 weeks (5 lbs from goal weight) I started doing weight work and minimal cardio and after a month I weighed myself one day, on a whim, and I was down to 135. I don't count calories, its just too much work for me. I eat in moderation and small portions. I try to get in a lot of protein and veggies and limit my whole grain carbs. I started making more soups to get more veggies in so I think that has helped. Now I would like to lean out and lose my jelly belly. I know I need to get cardio back in but I am in a rut. My whole point in telling you is that everyone's body is different and maybe you can take a little from each of us and use it and it will help you. I don't want to lose anymore weight, I just want the inches to be gone. It helps me to see what everyone else is doing.

Susan- I hope you get to go outside and enjoy the day w Kara! The girls are manageable today. Just tender and still firm. Thanks for asking. Yum! Broccoli soup sounds good. It's cold here today.

Lisa- I hear ya on buying fitness items. I can by pass shoes, clothes, make up etc but get me to the fitness section of the store and I could go crazy.

K slept for 2 hours! 1 in her bed...she got up to burp then slept an hour in her bouncey seat. My chatty friend callled...so my time was wasted listening to her talk about this and that. I love her but you just cant get off the phone with her!

Seriously??!! Freakin seriously???? :mad: I stop nursing/pumping for three days and AF decides to make a sneak attack???!!!! :eek:

It's only spotting at this point but I am clearly not happy. I was hoping for about a month reprieve. :(
 
Jen that is awful! Hey at least we are on the same cycle. Good news is that I felt like I lost a lot of my jiggle factor afer af came the first tome. Almost like my body was Golding onto it in case I got a wild hair and wanted to nurse? How are the boobs? Good god they will be a delight in a few more days. They will point south and east and west and be droopy and you will be glad! Ihave to always adjust mine inthe sports bra now to make sure my previously perky nipples are pointing forward.
Priscilla- yes I did gain some weight and get stuck. I was gaining muscle and my body freaked out and held onto weight. Then one day it peeled off in bits. I am hovering around 140 wanting to get to 135. I know it will not happen till I get consistent sleep.'i get maybe 5 hours broken up at night. I know you are frustrated and wish I could help you see how awesome you look. We are all our worst critics. When I saw your pics on fb I thought to myself that woman looks happy and lean and glowing. Keep up th e hard work. I am right there with you. Also tmi but are you getting enough fiber? That poop is not a friend of the scale.
Melanie- I would be so mad too. Good for you for telling her you were going to workout. I would have too. Now go strap on the girls and hit the elliptical. I like IMAX 3 for my mad days. Do it!!!! I have had two polars f6. Love them. My old one died last week. Just got a new one onamazon. I was thinking I should wear ir during sex to see how high my heart rate gets but that might make me extra creepy.
Lisa- I amthe same way. I do not care wha t I wear or for shopping but leave me unsupervised inan athletic store and I go hog wild. How are you and the kids doing?
Susan- try getting the bundle me car seat cover for Kara. It is fleece and zips on and off and gives you the chance to take kara out in any weather without extra annoying layers. I also have the bundle me onesie thing that makes John look like the michelin man and I love it to go on walks inthe bjorn so he can nap or look around. I take him out even in. 30 degree weather with them. I wish john would let me finish a video. He mostly screams when he is awake. Jimmy was like that. He is sweet when he is alseep. I did not get my upper body in today he woke up 30 minutes I to my clx interval DVD. Boo. He screamed in our run today too. What I would do for silence around here.
Our computer is freaking out so I am typing on my phone. I think I am a carpal tunnel candidate. Got to sneak out of bed with the boys... Took Jimmy on a long walk to jump inrain puddles today and left the pile of muddy clothes in the garage. Cross fingers they both stay asleep. I like the silence.....
 
Christine- Well good, then we can PMS together. This hormone crap should be interesting....I can tell the girls are starting to soften a bit. No pain today, just tenderness. Ironic thing...DH was hitting on me this AM and at work so I was just coming around to the idea that this factory was open again and then BAM! But you know what...too bad. It's happening....Bow chicka wow wow! :p You should come to my house now, its too quiet. DH took baby and the dog to grandmas.

Did ab sculpting pilates and bun and thigh pilates tonight. Felt the burn on both. Shall see how sore I am tomorrow.

THanks for being angry with me. PRobably woulda happened whether I stopped pumping or not.
 
Ok so I just realized that I invited Christine over right after the "bow chicka wow wow". Soooooo not what I meant.......

Oh and btw, I don't think it would be creepy to wear the polar. I'd be interested in knowing...
 
Good evening, ladies :) You guys have been busy today -- I didn't take notes so am likely to forget stuff!

For all of us trying to figure out how to lose the last of the pounds (for me, it's still 9 -- plus the 10 I wanted to lose before I got pregnant), I recently read that most people don't commit to a program/diet/workout routine long enough to see the results. The article (I think it was in Fitness mag) said to commit 60 to 90 days, to give your body time to respond.

Priscilla, stop beating yourself up! You look fantastic! FWIW, I have several friends who held on to 5 or 10 pounds. As soon as they quit breastfeeding, BAM -- the pounds melted off quickly. Good to hear you love your Polar so much. I'm seriously thinking about getting another. My Polar died :(

Susan, I love the Bundle Me that Christine mentioned. I have 2 (gently used from friends). I have one on the infant car seat, and use one on Drew's swing and vibrating seat (our house is drafty). With our freezing cold winter, Drew hasn't needed a jacket or blanket when we are out. Bundle Me makes a lighterweight one too; I think it's the Urban one. Enjoying STS so far. Tomorrow is M1, Week 2 Back and Triceps.

Melanie, sorry your friend flaked on you, but glad you got her text before you were almost there. That chili sounds yum. I *heart* chili. I make it often, to have for breakfast and lunch! I love it over a sweet potato.

Lisa, like you, I love to look at "fitness stuff" -- books, clothes, DVDs, shoes, socks. Even sports bras get me excited LOL

Okay, Susan, saw you mention Ellen Barrett. I think you and Priscilla talked about her before. I just got the Collage catalog. I'm intrigued by the Barefoot Cardio workout. Do you guys have it/like it?

Christine-thanks for the info on the carsear cover...if it wasnt about to be Spring I might get it. Weather is warming up fast here...60s tomorrow and it will be hotter than Haites sooner than later here in the south..yuck!

I'm going to stay commited to Chalean Ext. rotation. I've never done a rotation before and for some reason I'm able to do this one. Allison, I've heard something like that before (about giving enough time to a program before quitting) and I don't know what happens to me because these are things that I know and I seem to forget due to the stupid scale.

Allison, I only have Ellen's Slim sculpt and Skinny sculpt. They are both low impact workouts with light weights. I love Ellen's personality and these are awesome wokouts to help you feel stretched and flexible while burning calories. I tend to do them when I'm low in energy and they never dissapoint me. I don't have Barefoot Cardio but I DO want to get that one and Fat Burning Fusion very soon. I am adding some light cardio to Chalean Extreme and I think those fit the bill perfectly.

Christine, you are the fiber. I noticed that before getting preggo I was more regular witn the BM. I got most of my fiber intake during breakfast (oatmeal and cereal) but lately I've been eating plain 'O Corn Flakes with milk. It doesn't have much fiber at all.

Jen, I'm not looking forward to AF either.

You girls are great, I started my day awfully but had a great time sharing a lot with you today. Too bad I don't always have this much time
BTW, one of my girlfriends from Ortho school will be here for the weekend to meet Daniel. She's coming from another state just to meet him. Isn't that sweet?

priscilla- try benefiber, you can add the granules to water, coffee, anything. It comes plain or I think in flavors, or maybe metamucil does. I used them a lot in pregnancy adn as well to keep me more regualr. The ones that you mix with water are best because it forces you to get the water you need so that you do not poop stonehenge. one thing I have learned from doing the Chalean rotation and from what I read online, is that there is a plateau right befor you start the Lean Phase. I am doing it kind of out of order, but I can see how that happens. Keep it up, add more fiber. One thing I love that is simple is: Black beans sauteed with some onions and garlic and chicken, some avocado, cilantro and lime wrapped in a high fiber carb balalnce tortilla. Make them at night, take them to work! I also add red and yellow peppers.

Melanie- You shuld get the Bundle me set, or see if you can get one on ebay. That would allow you some freedom out of the house! Thanks also for hte chili recipe. I know I was goign to post recipes for you gals this week, our computer is a piece of poop, so I have just now gotten to use it. I have been sending info on my phone. That makes me blind and an even more retarded typist.
Jen- Flow. Damn Flow. I highly recommend CONTRACEPTION! This is where you get two kids fast! I think you shoudl take it easy, watch some tv and stay away from bow chick a wow wow! Too funny. I did not even read your post that way at first and then laughed really hard.
Allison- I adore chili too. My hubby does nto, so I eat it all. No wonder I get so much fiber.
Ellen Barret is just like Priscilla described. Her energy and personality are infectious, she is genuine and has a REAL body. They are not strenuous but are still gonna make you sore! I have her original SHAPE or SELF ( I cannot remember) video called Bikini Body and love it. Allison- I drool over the collage catalog. I was looking at some kickboxing ones. I like KB but hate Billy Blanks. By the way, I think it was Jen, I cannot stand Michelle "Shelley" either. That is his daughter, did you know that? She came out with a DVD to get yoru body back after baby. She looks better at 10 weeks postpartum than i did before baby. No thanks.

Hey ladies. Somehow my day just fell apart on me. Urgh. DH & DS1 are totally in a rut....and I'm feeling awful about it. :( HOpefully tomorrow is a better day.

Christine, I think I have the bundle me sets. I use them instead of snowsuits for the girls car seats. It is wayyyyyy to cold to go for a walk here with them though (even with those). Is it the JJCole Bundle Me sets? We are still in hig 20s temp-wise & have lots and lots of snow on ground. lol How do the polar HR monitors compare with gfw on calories?
 
Reading these posts gives me a much needed laugh during a very frustrating 2am feeding! I second the benefiber rec btw. looking forward to looking into the gfw and hrm more so that I can put them on my list for dh :)

my 2a. frustration....on those rare times I can get reese to sleep alone she wakes every hour or two. it would be one thing if it seemed like she was hungry, but she drinks for 5min or so and then off to lala land. Also, when she sleeps with DH, she can go 3 to 5 hrs. grr..

I did P90x chest and back + half ab ripper. I forgot how tough those abs are!

We had another decent night. K slept from 8-3:30 back to sleep and its almost 7.

Lisa-sorry for your long night. Reese is still so very young..she'll get the hang of it soon. I think we have all had the similar problem you are having. Hang in there..nap when you can.

Melanie-hope today is a better day for you and dh, ds!!

one more thing..any insight on how I can still be gaining weight?? In te past week, I've cleaned up my diet and have been working out. I'm now 9lbs from my goal weight--125 (was once only 5lbs away). I was holding steady at 131 for a long time, but in the past week, I've gained 3lbs!
 
Good AM. I'm kinda in a sour mood over an incident that occured with DH yesterday. :mad: I hope that a long run OUTSIDE will kick it into gear. I'm going to try my darnest to go outside today,....just as soon as I see the sun & DH is around to watch the kiddos.

Lisa, none of my babies are great night sleepers. I'm still getting up about 3 times/night. They're only a little over 9 lbs, so I imagine their tummies aren't big enough to hold onto alot of milk. They were preemies (as most twins are). One was 3lbs 14oz the other 5lbs when they were born. As crazy as it sounds, I LOVE ALL phases of infanthood......even the evening feedings and the colic period. I know I'm crazy,...but it's during those 'tough' times that I have created a bond with them that noone else has/can. Not sure about the weight gain. Are you still doing the low-carbs? If you feel comfortable, post your meals/food for the day. We periodically do that & give each other ideas.

Kara, DH thinks the girls are too young for bathtime with me. Translation: He doesn't want to be here or be bothered with helping me. :eek: Oh my, did I just say that? :eek: It's true. :mad: I might just do one girl one day & another a different day. It sounds like fun!

K teased me..shes still asleep! I have had my 2 clementines and Kashi Go Lean.
Melanie-I am the same way. I love every stage K is going through....and the bond that us moms create can't compare to another.
I know K needs to eat still at night. She has yet to empty both breasts. In fact my left one is about to burst..wish she would get up already! She still just nurses on one at a time..even during the day. She does nurse often though...sometimes hourly....I think she likes to nurse more than Haley did and never thougth that was possible!
Bathing with K is fun! Maybe bribe dh for helping one night a week or something. Id on't know if I would try 2 at a time though...holding K up and letting her kick is work..I couldnt imagine 2 at a time.
Today is cardio! Melanie I know you love cardio..I think I love weights more!
 
No, I wouldn't take two in tub together. Babies are so slippery! lol I was thinking I could do one at a time while when the other naps. Actually now would be a good idea, but I have to clean the tub first. lol

Susan, have you tried switching breasts 1/2 way thru Kara's feedings? With my twins I have to "assign" a breast to each baby (trading off) so that I can remember which breast was used last. I never allow one baby to eat off of two breasts at a feeding, for fear that her sister might be hungry and not have any food. lol

My girls must be going thru a growing spurt. They are on the breast ever 90-120 minutes.....and then they attack it. It feels like I don't have enough milk (I don't even feel let down) but when I squeeze my nipple a little comes out. I think they are working hard to increase my milk supply. It's their job. They dont' seem to mind suckling away for little return. I"m taking fenugreek, I'll increase to 4 three times a day, tomorrow 5 three times a day until my milk & sweat smell like maple syrup. :)
