Lurkers Invitation For The Holidays

I got up this morning to workout but I was so tired. This dang cold is driving me nuts. I haven't had a cold in years and now it just won't go away  I was so stuffed up this morning that it was too hard to do anything. On top of that we could break the record tomorrow for the coldest day in November ever. They are saying that it could get down to -17 to -10 degrees C tomorrow, for you that is about 20 - 25 degrees F. This is not helping my cold at all, I froze at my desk today since I sit by the window so I had to wrap my coat around my legs to keep warm.

Julie Great job on your workout. 17 pushups on your toes is really good. Yoga was really good yesterday but I am fustrated with not having the energy or breathing capacity for that matter to workout :(. I am hoping that I can get back into it this week. I can feel the pounds coming back .

Pam I'll trade you weather........I like sunny and 70 degress. Actually tonight I took Nyquil again. I can feel myself getting stuffed up again. I had a lousy sleep last night so that didn't help either. Sorry to hear that your mom isn't doing too great. Hopefully they will figure out what to do soon. A car accident is a big thing to forget to tell the doctor. Funny how they think of things they need to get done instead of concentrating on getting better. For Pyramid upper body I sometimes do the ab work first before my arms get tired. That seems to help a bit especially with the pikes.

Janie You got a bit of snow on the weekend. We didn't get any but places around us got the same or more than you. I wish it was as warm as 32 degrees F here.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Cheryl

Last night I did Power Hour and this morning was Kick Max. I also did some pushups this morning and was actually able to do 20 on my toes before having to go to my knees. Whoohoo!  I don't know how or why but I'll take it!!

Pam Good job on PUB! I absolutely hate  the pikes on the ball because I just can’t do them. I maybe get 1 or 2 good ones and the rest are lucky to be ½ pikes. I like Cheryl's idea of doing the ab work first before your arms get tired. I may have to try that next time. So sorry to hear about your mom. I do hope they find out what is going on and can get her as good as new soon.

Janie That picture is beautiful!! Although I don’t envy the snow you are getting! I love looking at snow but hate driving in it and the extreme cold that comes with it! I’ll be waiting for a picture of the snowman!!! ;) We have been pretty lucky here weather-wise. So far, we haven't gotten below 40 degrees and luckily no snow. I keep hoping it will last until Spring but I doubt we will be that fortunate!

Cheryl What a bummer about your cold! I was pretty lucky with mine from a few weeks ago. It really only last about 3 days before going into that hanging on period. I still have a cough every once in awhile but just one of those “there’s a tickle in my throat” coughs. Hang in there! I have a feeling you will be back on track soon! I know what you mean about freezing at your desk. I don’t sit by window but I get so cold I always have a sweater on and a blanket over my legs.

Happy Tuesday (more like Thursday for those of us who have Thursday and Friday off)!!!!!

Janie The snow is so beautiful. Freshly fallen snow is so pretty to look at, but I prefer not having it! I do look forward to seeing your snowman though! Thankis so much for your good thoughts and prayers. They must be working because my mom got to go home from the hospital yesterday, she was so happy. They decided that it is a hematoma and that it isn't expanding so they let her go home.

Cheryl Sorry to hear that lousy cold is still hanging on. I hate it when you think you are getting better and then it gets worse again. So frustrating! Hang in there and take care of yourself. Record cold, ick. I hope it warms up for you soon but I'm not willing to trade weather! ;) Sorry about that! I moved from Michigan to North Carolina for a reason! It's a great idea to do the ab work first in PUB! I may have to try that next time (if I remember!)

Julie 20 push ups on your toes!!! Wow! Great job! You are giving me hope now! During PUB I started doing one pike and then one knees in and alternating them that way. I still couldn't do them all though  Maybe one of these days!

I was so suprised to find my new workouts sitting on my front step yesterday! I couldn't believe that they came so fast! So this morning I was going to do 30/30 but instead I did intensity. Wow, it was intense :) I was able to do it all though - she finishes it up with low impact Hiit which I thought was a nice way to kind've wind it down. Now maybe I will do total body STS tomorrow! My in-laws arrive sometime this morning and then the rest of the family starts arriving sometime tomorrow afternoon. I started cooking last night. I made some minstrone for Wednesday nights dinner and am making the chocolate peanut butter cake again so I made the cakes yesterday and also made the brownies for my brownie mosaic cheesecake. Maybe I need to do intensity a couple more times......!

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Pam

It's 20 degrees outside and sunny! It was colder than that last night, around 15 or 18 degress. Here is an updated picture on the deck. The snow got denser, because it was deeper before I went to bed. Will be out in it very soon and will take another picture of the snowman I will be building and Rolly's new jacket. LOL:eek:

393580737.jpg

This snow is very unusual for us. The norm is it will snow and melt as soon as it hits the ground. Sometimes it will stick and have one fun day in it, then it's over. In the last couple of years we've had snow here and according to the measurement of our table on the deck it was actually 26 inches two years ago.

Cheryl, That is cold. Berrrrrrrrrrr. Hope you get to feeling better soon. it does take it's course about two weeks. If it's any longer than that, then please see a doctor. Stay warm and drinks lots of liquids.

Julie, Great job yesterday on PH, I just love that one. KM is a good one too, well done, but those 20 push ups on your toes, takes the cake. Congratulations! That's amazing! You are getting so nice and strong. Don't you love it?

Pam, I'm so glad your Mom is feeling better and out of that darn hospital. Now she can get use to her new new environment.

I'm, so excited about you getting the workouts so soon! Mine will take awhile, at least two weeks I think. Intensity sounds so wonderful, Great job on it! Let us know how the others are. You lucky girl you.

You are so busy cooking for everyone that are arriving for Thanksgiving. Try to take a breath every now and then. Your peanut butter cake I'm sure will be a success again. Brownies mosaic cheesecake? Now that sounds heavenly.:p

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Janie

Well we broke the record for the coldest November 23rd. Two more days of this and Thursday it is supposed to snow a lot and then it will warm up and rain instead. Oh boy it is going to be a slushy mess come Friday. I just did some stretching today, I have my step all set up for the cardio portion of Low Impact Circut tomorrow morning.

Julie You are doing really well with your workouts. Congrats on your 20 pushups on your toes. That is really good. It seems that I get stuffed up at night. Hopefully I will sleep well and will be good to go for my workout tomorrow. I could really feel the cold air coming through the window at work today. All of the water fountains are starting to freeze over too so you know it is cold. I had a sweater and shawl on as well as my coat wrapped around my legs today. It is kinda hard to work when you are wrapped up like a mummy :D

Pam Glad to hear that your mom is home from the hospital. Especially since it is Thankgiving and she can spend it with family. Oh darn you don't want our cold weather. I can't imagine why!!!! :D You used to live in Michigan? I hear it can get really really really cold there. No wonder why you moved. Really cold weather isn't the norm here. That is why when we get it I really don't have a lot of warm clothes to wear.
Lucky you to get your workouts already. So Intensity was pretty good was it. I think I will be waiting another couple of weeks before I get mine. You have been busy cooking. Yummy chocolate peanut butter cake.

Janie You are getting the same cold weather as us. We didn't get any snow yesterday but our luck will be running out. I am looking forward to your snowman picture and seeing Rolly in his new jacket.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

I did Stretch Max on the ball last night when I got home. My hamstrings were so tight; it felt really nice to stretch them. This morning I did the step and power circuit portions of Body Max 2 plus pushups (20 again on my toes!!!). I am going to do the upper body weight work from BM2 when I get home from work.

I am so exhausted already. I did not sleep well. I woke up around 12:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep until 2:30. Then at 3, our older dog, Oscar, fell of the bed and peed all over the floor. This is the 3rd time this year he has done that. I don’t know if he is sleep walking/peeing or if he is just losing control of his bladder as he gets older (he is 10 ½). :( By the time we cleaned him and the carpet up, it was time for me to “get up” officially. It was a struggle to work out but I made it!

Pam Good job on Intensity! I can’t wait to get that one. With all the premixes, it looks like it can be used in so many ways. Glad to hear your mom was sent home. Sounds like you will be pretty busy the next couple days working out, entertaining your family, and making yummy desserts!

Janie Looks like you have the perfect snow to make a snowman!!! So far we have been lucky with the weather but they are calling for freezing rain today. Yuck!!!

Cheryl Good job on stretching! Sometimes it is nice just to do a little something to get blood flowing. I hope you can get LIC in tomorrow. We are supposed to get freezing rain today so looks like winter is finally here. I knew it couldn’t stay away forever! Yep being cold at work and having to bundle up makes it hard to work. There have been times my fingers are so cold my nails start to turn purple and I have hard time typing or using the mouse!

I am leaving work early today :p to do some last minute Thanksgiving shopping. Then it is home to finish out Body Max 2 and start cooking some goodies!

In case I don’t get a chance to post tomorrow, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving (or a wonderful Thursday for Cheryl!). Not sure if I will be posting Friday either. I am one of the crazies that goes shopping on Black Friday with my mom and sister. Although we don’t start out until 7am. We are not crazy enough to get up at 3 or even camp out in line over night! ;)

Janie Wow, you sure did get a lot of snow. At least it is sunny out now. Our good weather is coming to an end, we are supposed to get rain on Friday and then a high of only 49 on Saturday. Too bad it couldn't last, but at least we enjoyed it while it was here. I can't wait to see Rolly in his new jacket, how does he like it?
I could not believe my workouts were here so fast. It sounds like USPS was a lot faster than UPS from the comments I'm seeing on FB. Those who used USPS got them right away and the people who selected UPS are still waiting. That's good to know for future reference.
Cheryl Coldest day is not a record that is good to set :( Glad to hear that it will be warming up soon but you're right, it sounds like you are in for a slushy mess. I hope you were able to do LIC this morning.
You would think that they would be able to keep a building temperature comfortable! I keep a parka in my office because it gets so cold. The worst is when my hands are so cold!
The last year I lived in Michigan we had the coldest winter on record. I was going to school at Michigan State and I had a class that was all the way across campus that I had to walk to across what we referred to as the tundra! I was definitely ready for a warmer climate!

Julie I think I am going to have to get stretch max. I love stretching on the ball. You are really doing great with your workouts, especially your pushups!!!
What a terrible night you had last night. Wow, I can't imagine getting your workout in after that! Poor Oscar, I hope everything is ok and that he is just sleep walking/peeing. Hopefully you will be able to get to bed early tonight and get a good night's sleep.
All of the new workouts seem to have a lot of premixes which I was really excited about. There are so many different options! Be careful in that freezing rain, that can be so dangerous for driving!

This morning I did STS total body, another goody! The whole thing is tri-sets but she mixes up the body parts in the tri-sets sometimes. For example one of the sets was back and biceps. It's 67 minutes long but goes by very quickly. For some reason my glutes were already really sore when I started, I guess Intensity worked my glutes pretty good also! It's looking pretty promising for me to get a workout in tomorrow morning too because most of the gang will be going to do the turkey trot. I'd rather stay here and do Cathe! So far my cheesecake is made, my peanut butter chocolate cake is made, 2 appetizers for tonight, a pot of minestrone, and the turkeys are brining. We always do soup/salad night the night before Thanksgiving so we don't feel so bad about the big meal the next day. I'll be making seafood gumbo later - not really light but at least we can deceive ourselves! Have a great Wednesday and if I don't get a chance to check in tomorrow a great Thanksgiving for those in the US. I'll be black Friday shopping on Friday too so don't expect to be checking in then so have a great Friday too!

Pam

Well I got in the cardio premix for Low Impact Circut. It felt so good to get moving again.

Julie Good job on your workouts and another 20 pushups on your toes. Way to go. You didn't have a good night at all. I hate it when you wake up for no reason and can't get back to sleep. I hope Oscar is OK. Hopefully he isn't losing control of his bladder. That really makes for a long day but good for you for getting your workout in, I probably would have gone back to bed . Freezing rain is not fun either. I guess we had to give up the nice weather eventually. Maybe what we need to get are the gloves that have top of the fingers cut off. That way our hands will stay warm but we can still type.

Pam I hate it when my hands are cold too. I don't know why they can't keep the temperature comfortable either. However I know most of the cold I was feeling was coming from the window. You know when they call something the tundra that it is cold. I can see why you moved somewhere warmer. You are so lucky being able to do the new workouts. STS total body sounds like a good one. However with the length of it I wouldn't be able to do it on a work day. Wow the food for your Thanksgiving sounds really good.

Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow everyone. And for Pam and Julie enjoy Black Friday. I know a lot of people from here go down to the Seattle area for it too.

Cheryl

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday We've been busy trying to save a doggie that Joey found on the Winter icy road. Turned out he was blind, smelly and people were using a twine to tie him up. More later on that.

Helped a man and his mother with food and warmth day before Thanksgiving.

Went to see one of our daughters and grandson and shared a Thanksgiving dinner.

Will be seeing the rest of the family today.

Tomorrow will be a better day to share pictures and comments, but just wanted to say to everyone, keep warm, holiday cheer, and have a great and wonderful day.

Janie

This morning it was STS Disk 8 Back and Triceps. The weather was yucky around here. It snowed for most of the day and then it turned to rain and made a really big mess. On the bright side it has warmed up a lot.

Janie You had a busy day. I hope the doggie that Joey found is doing better. That was nice for you to help and man and his mother with food and warmth for Thanksgiving too. Hope you enjoyed all of your Thanksgiving dinners.

Pam, Julie and Helen I hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving as well. I think it is going to be pretty quite around here for the next several days.

Happy Black Friday.

Cheryl

Cheryl Glad to hear that you are felling good enough to work out. I know you were really missing it. I hope that your weather has improved some too! I like your idea of the fingerless gloves for work! That is funny because I just saw some of those at REI today and was wondering why anyone would want them and now I'm thinking I need some!! :D

Janie Wow, you certainly have embodied the spirit of the holiday season by helping that poor dog and also the man and his mother that you helped with food and warmth. That is what it is supposed to be all about, thank you for your kindness and generousity! What an inspiration!

Julie, Helen I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I did get a workout in yesterday morning so I was happy about that. The people who were supposed to go do the turkey trot all slpet in instead so I thought I was doomed, but my SIL wanted to do a workout while we were waiting for the turkey to cook so we did Hiit DWP and he abs from cardio and weights. It was great. Wednesday was my DHs birthday and we had the soup, salad and bread and then the peanut butter chocolate cake. The big feast yesterday was great, we had 24 people and cooked 4 turkeys! Needless to say, we had a lot of turkey leftover. We weren't too crazy with the black friday shopping, we didn't leave until 6:30 and then were home by noon. I was much better than last year too. Last year I bought all kinds of things for myself and hardly any gifts. This year I only bought 2 tops for myself and got 3-4 gifts, plus helped my MIL pick out gifts for DH, me, and DSS. Of course we have more shopping planned for tomorrow though..... :rolleyes:Tonight we are taking a break from turkey and having spaghetti. Hopefully I'll get another workout in tomorrow! Have a great weekend everyone!

Pam

Today walked on the treadmill for one mile. Not enough, but it's OK, I'll walk longer on Sunday. Walked Rolly about 15 min. in the wet snow, he got chilled.

Concerning the dog Joey found. Once Joe put the animal in our jeep, he wouldn't allow anyone to get close to him. He was bound and determined to stay put. I called the Adopt a pet and told them he may be a sick dog, but certainly blind and old. Also called the humane society, but fear they may euthanize him. While I was waiting mainly for Adopt a Pet's call, it dawned on me that I've seen this dog before. I was pretty sure it belonged to the people down the road that are poor. I called the president of our Home Association for his number, but he didn't have one for this neighbor. Decided to walk down there (I don't drive in the snow) and see if they were missing a dog. Got there and sure enough they were missing one. He sighed and was so happy to know that his mother's dog was OK.

I had to think in my mind why I would give this little dog up that was old, blind, and not clean at all (he smelled so badly). For one thing the dog doesn't know any better than the life he has had, also he's 13 or 14 years old, (the last leg of his life). Plus the owners love him, they just don't have a way to keep him clean. I had to let him go back home. It's the only life he is comfortable with. Talk about unconditional love that dog has for his owners. Wow.

Found out a lot about these people while Him (Brien) and I walked back to my house to retrieve his dog. They are living in a very small motor home, with no running water and hardly any heat to speak of. The neighbors all don't like them, because of the way they live. They are essentially camping. The neighbors think their place is an eye sore and if and when people want to sell their home, they wont' be able to get the max. amount of money out of it because of these poor people. They don't have a place to go potty except in their port a potty and that also is an eye soar I guess.

The snow kept them from going to the food bank. So, Joey and I gave them as much food as we could so they can cope until they can get out to get more. They were cold, and the next couple of days were going to be at night 11-14 degrees F. So we gave them warm blankets to help with that. Also gave them our number in case they needed future help.

It is so sad.

As promised, here is a picture of Rolly and his new jacket, if you call this a jacket. LOL He seems to love it though, especially his expression. The temperatures were so cold, that the snow wouldn't bind at all and couldn't build a snowman. Next time it snows maybe.

393647976.jpg

Julie, Bet you are having a wonderful time shopping on Black Friday.:) Wow you had a hard time one night with one of your dogs. Hopefully it won't happen again. Poor guy. and you must have been exhausted from lack of sleep!

Pam, Rolly seems to like his jacket. Sure wished I did a better job on it though. I got a pattern from EBay for making more sweaters and jacket out of our clothing. So hopefully I'll be making a better one for him. You are so lucky to get your workouts early. Mine are still in PA., sitting there until it's time for them to move on.:( Great job on STS Total Body. That is the first one I'll be doing when I get the new DVD's. Enjoy Black Friday's shopping.

Cheryl, Great job on Back and Triceps. Enjoy Black Friday as well. Joey is coming home with a Dyson DC28. Joey says it's for Christmas, Birthday and our Anniversary presents. I had to agree. LOL:eek: I'll be cleaning the house tomorrow or may even start on it tonight.

Have a good one everyone,

Janie

Good morning, everyone.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. We had 30 people at our house for dinner. It had been a cold and rainy week leading up to Thanksgiving Day and was raining and it even snowed big fat flakes for about 20 minutes when the party got started. We had a smoked turkey and a fried one with only enough leftovers for a few sandwiches yesterday afternoon. I made stock out of the bits and pieces of the carcasses (don't like that word...). I'll put that in the freezer for future use.

Janie: Your neighbors' dog might have been a messenger of sorts, huh? Your story of caring made me smile.

Pam: Hope your mom continues to improve.

Julie: Great job on your push ups! I used to be able to do 30 with ease, then hurt my shoulder. I'm working my way back up and can do about 20 before I have to drop to one knee.

Cheryl: I hope you are feeling even better today. I think our cold weather is settling in, too. We have such up and down temps this time of year in St. Louis, though. Last week it was in the low 70's and then we had a brief show shower on Thursday.

I've been slacking on my workouts a bit this past week. I'm going to try to get 2 in today to make up for it. The good news is that I'm holding at 6 lbs. lost. I didn't gain, but I didn't lose, either. Tightening my chin strap for the next 4 weeks.

I should receive my STS Total Body dvd by Monday. I can't wait to give that one a try.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.
Helen

Did STS Disk 9 Legs this morning. Then went and did the grocery shopping, house cleaning and got all of the laundry done. Now I am pooped.

Pam I think those fingerless gloves are a great idea. I think I should get me some to leave at work. Wow you had a lot of people over for turkey dinner. That would have been a lot of work. Good control on your Black Friday shopping. I think I would have gone wild and bought a lot of stuff for me . Nice that you were able to help your MIL buy your Christmas gifts.

Janie Poor dog, but I think you did the right thing in giving him back to his owners even though it may not feel like it. I think the owners love their dog even if it isn't the way we would take care of it. And as you said he is in the last leg of his life and if he is happy we shouldn't try to change it. Wow these people are really poor. It is sad that some people just don't have the means to support themselves properly. It was really nice of you and Joey to give them some food and blankets. I love Rolly's new jacket. He looks so proud wearing it. Whoo Hoo you got a Dyson. Let me know how you like it. Mine went through a workout today with the housework I did.

Helen Wow I thought Pam had a lot of people but 30 that is really a lot. I couldn't fit that many people into our little place. You really had a change in temps. At least for us it has gotten back to our normal temps and rain though we still do have a little bit of snow around. So much is going on this time of year don't worry about slacking a bit. Keeping your 6 lbs weight loss is an accomplishment in itself given all of the rich food that is around. Let me know how you like the STS Total Body workout. I don't think I will get mine for another couple of weeks.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Cheryl

Janie Don't fret about only a mile on the treadmill. Something is better than nothing! My workouts have been nothing for the last couple of days. The company starts leaving today though and I will be getting back to my routine tomorrow. I love Rolly's jacket, it is so cute!!
I'm sure it was hard giving the dog back, but it sounds like they were all happiest to be back together. It is very sad to know that there are people right in our back yard who can't afford the essentials of life, you were so kind to help them. It is even sadder that the only thing the other neighbors care about is what it is doing to their property values :(
I hope you get the new workouts soon. I really enjoyed the 2 that I have tried so far and hopefully I'll get to try the others this week.

Helen Wow, you sure did have a crowd for Thanksgiving! We cooked 4 turkeys and should've only done 2. We were going to do 3, but my DH insisted we needed 2 smoked. We had an entire turkey that didn't get carved and a lot of carved turkey left. We've had sandwiches for 2 days and turket pot pie for 20+ last night and still have plenty left.
My mom says that her leg is still bothering her and she still feels crappy, so I will probably have to bug her to go for a follow up. I'm not convinced they really know what the problem is
Great job on maintaining your weight loss through Thanksgiving. I consider that to be success!

Cheryl Sounds like you had quite the busy Saturday. We spent our Saturday shopping also  There is a very unique store here called a Southern Season that has all kinds of interesting things so we spent a couple of hours then, then had lunch there and then went to another store. By the time we got back it was time to start preparing for dinner.
The dinner wasn't bad at all because everyone brings something, so it actually was pretty easy for me since for Thursday all I had to do was the roasted turkey, the mashed potatoes and the rolls. The men did the smoked and fried turkeys, my MIL did the stuffing and gravy, my SIL did dessert (oh yea, except for the brownie mosaic cheesecake which was very good btw), and everyone else brought sides and appetizers.
I think I will get some of those fingerless gloves for the office!! Great idea!

I am hoping that I may be able to get a workout in this afternoon, but I'm not sure. My 2 SILs and nieces left this morning, BIL and 2 nephews leave in another hour and MIL and FIL are here til Tuesday. We'll also have to take DSS back to school at some point today and then are supposed to be going out for dinner with the SIL and BIL that live in town. I think I will plan some intense workouts for this week to make up for all the time off. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Pam

Went out to our favorite place to eat tonight, since we had a play to watch. Had a great time. We saw Star Dust, a once a year continued saga, which is mainly lots of singing. Beautifully done.

Helen, I do that to my left over turkey as well. It's so nice to have homemade stock and ready to go. We had a great time at the kids house during our Thanksgiving dinner. I love our kids, I'm very proud on how they turned out.

You know what? I thought that the dog was a messenger of sorts too. Amazing how life is sometimes. Somebody is watching over them for sure.

Congratulations for not gaining any weight and maintaining during Thanksgiving. I also need to tighten something and get on with our exercising. I took a week off and after tomorrow will be more than ready to continue to get healthy and fit. Have you noticed it's an on going thing?LOL:D Won't get my new DVD's until the 1st.

Cheryl, Great job on STS Legs and the housework. You must have had extra energy.

OMG! My little tiny weeny vacuum is a toy compared to the Dyson. I LOVE IT! I went over the rug with it again, and I picked up hardly anything. It is that amazing. I can't wait for the carpet to need vacuuming again. LOL:eek:

Pam, You are right about not freting over the treadmill. Not tomorrow but the next day, I start a fresh round. After the Holidays I'll be doing serious stuff believe you me. One day at a time, right?

My DVD's will be here the 1st. It's going to be wonderful to do some new workouts.

Have an enjoyable night everyone,

Janie

This morning I didn’t work out. I decided to do my workout this afternoon instead. This afternoon will be Muscle Endurance. I kind of prefer doing weight-only workouts at night. My DH prefers it too because he likes spotting me on some of the exercises!

Anyway, sorry I have been MIA for so long. To recap, Thursday I did HiiT DWP and then overate big time!! Friday, I did Legs & Glutes and then went on a 10-hour shopping spree and came away with some pretty good deals. Saturday and Sunday I relaxed. Today it is back to the work!

Pam Good job on STS Total Body and DWP! I did DWP on Thanksgiving too. I thought doing a HiiT workout might be good for all the eating I knew I would do!

Cheryl Good job on STS! I have thought about fingerless gloves for work but never been brave enough to try them. I may get desperate enough though.

Janie Saving a dog and helping a man and his mother sounds like it kept you busy! That was very nice of you to do both of those things! Rolly is adorable in his jacket! Great job on 1-mile on the TM! One mile is one more than you would have done if you had not gotten on at all!!

Helen Good job with maintaining your weight loss. I am need to get back on track with my eating. I was doing so good and then last week it blew up! I am going to refocus today though.

Sorry for the short post! I read through everyone’s posts quickly but I think I know that everyone kept busy!

Happy Monday!

Janie It sounds like you had a lovely evening last night, so nice!
That must be one amazing vacuum if you are looking forward to the next time you get to vacuum! :p That is definitely not a job that I look forward to!
The 1st is almost here so you will have those new DVDs in hand very soon! I am enjoying having the new workouts and they all have so many pre-mixes that it's like getting so many more than 4!

Julie I think doing weight workouts in the afternoon is a good idea. I think I am stronger than I am in the morning, but I have a lot more energy in the morning so I usually try to get mine done then for fear that if I don't they won't get done at all. It's nice that your DH likes to spot you too!
It sounds like we were on the same wavelength for Thanksgiving - short but intense workoout. It was perfect!

Yesterday my in-laws went and spent the day at their daughter's house so I got to do a workout! I was so happy! I did Intensity again and it was just as hard the second time. It is definitely a butt-kicker! This morning I did High reps for the first time. It was good, but so far is my least favorite of the new workouts. I'll be doing Lower body blast on Wednesday. Today was also my first weigh in since before Thanksgiving and I'm happy to report that there was no damage, Hooray! :D Today is my first day back at work in 2 weeks. Boy it was not easy getting up and the last 2 weeks are definitely catching up to me. I am pooped! My DH worked until 1 am and then got up at 5 to go into the office though, so I didn't have it nearly as bad as he did. Have a great Monday ladies!

Last night I got Muscle Endurance in with all those leg presses! This morning I did Cardio Kicks; and, of course, pushups. I am now up to doing 22 on my toes!

Pam Good job on High Reps! May I ask what you don’t like about it? I haven’t done it yet, just curious as to what to expect from it. I agree that I feel stronger doing weight workouts in the evening but I do have more energy for cardio in the morning plus I really like getting my workouts in and done with so I can’t come up with excuses later. Also, congratulations on not gaining over Thanksgiving! That is an awesome feeling! :D

Gotta get to work now!

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

Julie Great job on Muscle Endurance and all of those leg presses. Leg presses are definitely not my favorite, but they get the job done! Fantastic job on those push ups! Wow! I guess I should start doing them again
It's not so much that I didn't like high reps, it is just my least favorite of the new workouts so far. The format is similar to one of her older workouts (power hour maybe?) in that there are 10 songs and for each song you work a different muscle group. Because it's high reps it felt long to me since you are doing the same thing for a long time. She also doesn't ever tell you what weight she has on her barbell and I like to have that as a guide. I find myself trying to figure it out all the time. It has a great ab routine at the end though!

With my travels, Thanksgiving, and the new workouts arriving I got completely off my rotation so will pick up on a rotation next week. This morning I did a Mindy Mylrea workout - action packed step. I really like this one, it was a nice change of pace. I also just ordered 2 new Mindy workouts  Someone was raving about her guts, guns and glutes workout on the open discussion forum so I had to check it out. I found out that she has a sale going on so I ended up ordering that one and also a cardio dvd that sounded really good.
Tomorrow I will try Lower Body Blast for the first time, can't wait to try it.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Pam
