Lurkers Invitation 2010

Janie You have really been hitting the workouts hard lately! Good for you! You have quite the busy month ahead of you here too, sounds like it will be a lot of fun!

Cheryl I have never been in an earthquake and never care to! I think Eunice experienced one not too long ago. it would definitely freak me out! One of the people that I work with works with our Ottawa office and she said that their disaster plan is to tuck their badge into their shorts so that they can be identified later if necessary. nice, huh? I bet it makes you feel like you are back at the Olympics watching that DVD. That vaccuum of yours sounds just amazing! Wow!

Eunice So sorry to hear you are sick! :( I'm glad you didn't get it while you were in Mexico but sure hope you are feeling better before hitting the road again tomorrow!

This morning was Drill Max for me. Always a good one, but I'm always happy with that third cardio set holding the stability ball is done. Not sure what it is about it, I think mostly because it's so awkward holding that big ball. It does really get the heart rate up though. Time for me to get some laundry and errands done. Have a great Saturday everyone!

Pam

Pam I have been in a few earthquakes but nothing serious. Wow that is some disaster plan. After this I think they should get one in place. It was fun watching that DVD but I still haven't had a chance to look at the pictures yet. I feel the same way about that third cardio in Drill Max. I find it awkward as well to hold that ball.

Eunice Sorry to hear that you are sick! I haven't really seen any posts from you so I am assuming you are on facebook. I haven't been on there for a while.

Janie Hope you enjoyed your family reunion.

Well it was Imax 2 this morning. I felt really good after it was done.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Cheryl

Cheryl Yes Imax 2 is a good one and always gives a real sense of accomplishment finishing it! I think it's on the calendar for me on Wednesday this week.

We spent a lot of time water skiing this weekend. We went Friday night and also Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The problem is that with all of the hot weather we've had the water is really warm. It felt like a hot tub on Friday night. When it's that hot it makes your skin very soft and your hands just get torn up. I have a big blister in the middle of my palm that broke yesterday so I'm hoping I'll be able to do my weights tomorrow.

This morning was supposed to be MMA Kickbox, but since that isn't one of my favorites and I missed Rythmic step which IS, I did Rythmic step and then the abs from MMA Kickbox. I enjoyed that combo quite a bit!

Janie I hope you had fun at the first family reunion, I guess you are off for the second one now!

Hi Eunice and Kelly! Eunice I hope you are feeling better!

Pam

Awe, you all are so sweet keeping track of me.

Everyone seems like they are doing very well with their workouts. Good for you. Consistency is key and that's what I'm seeing. Now if I can only do that as well. Didn't workout since Friday and most likely won't get a chance until we reach Vegas until the 30th. But, on the 1st will be able to then.

Yes, I did enjoy thoroughly the Cooper's family reunion.:D There were some people I haven't seen literally for 18 or so years. Not family, but family friends. They were invited too. It was so nice seeing them. My 10 year apart younger brother is a grandpa (by marriage). Yikes! Seems so odd. There are marriages planned, babies on the way, and colleges for the young to attend. I'm an artist and one of my nephews looked up to me for encouragement and my opinion on his artwork. I was so honored. He was so good at his young stage of being an artist.

Now to get ready for the McBride's family reunion and some more fun time.:D

Janie It's tough to be consistent with workouts when you are doing a lot of traveling. It sounds like you had a wonderful time at the reunion, it's interesting to include family friends too. It can be a lot of fun to see people that you haven't seen in a long time (although sometimes it can be very strange too :p) I know what you mean about the oddness. My niece is expecting a baby and it doesn't seem like very long ago when I got the phone call letting me know that she had been born!
How exciting about your nephew, but I can't believe you didn't share with us the fact that you are an artist and especially share some of your work! I think we would all love to see it!!!

Hi Cheryl, Eunice and Kelly! Kelly I hope we haven't lost you!

This morning I did MM. It was a nice thorough workout without being too tough, but I was ready for the low end lunges to be finished! Those and the push ups - I don't think I will ever like push ups!! I hope everyone is doing well!!

Pam

Hello everyone, hope you are having a good week! Since I'm alone here right now this will be a short post!

This mornings workout was Imax2. As always I enjoyed it, but I was a little over enthusiastic about thinking my ankle recovering after only 1 extra rest day - it's still pretty tender so I think I need to give it a longer rest. I was really hoping to make it through this rotation but I am not sure I'll be able to do that :( It's better to take the rest time now rather than push it until I'm injured and forced to be off longer.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!
Pam

OK, here I am talking to myself again! Cheryl I hope everything is ok with you, you aren't usually so quiet! Janie Hoping you have arrived in Vegas safely and that we'll be hearing from you soon! Eunice Hope you are having fun with your in-laws and that you are feeling better! Kelly Hope you aren't working yourself to death!

This morning I did disc 14 legs. Since there was no cardio it didn't bother my ankle at all, except for the calf work at the very end.. I think I have some tendonitis in my achilles and anything that involves flexing it makes it hurt. Tonight we are going to an outdoor Phish concert. A cold front came through and it is just beautiful here - highs in the mid 80's so it should be a perfect night for it Have a great Thursday everyone!

Pam

I'm starting to feel awfully lonely here :( I hope everyone is doing well! I guess we all have a long weekend this weekend since I believe yesterday was Canada Day?

We went to see Phish last night and didn't get home until 1:00 am, so I decided to skip my workout and sleep this morning  It was a gorgeous night and we had a lot of fun. It was quite the show for people watching too! I figured that my ankle can use the rest day anyway, so hoping it helps it feel better so that I can get through the last week of the rotation. We have no big plans for the long weekend, just hope to spend a lot of time at the lake. Have a good weekend everyone!

Pam

Hi Pam!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Pam!! Looks like you were lonely for a good while, awful ha! But I hope i get back to normal here pretty soon..... I hate being away for so long.
We had a great week, we drove up to Laughling on Sunday spent the night there the next day we got a boat trip that took us to lake Havesu on the river for a long, hot, sweaty 6-7 hour trip with 3 stops during the boat trip, after that we spent another night there it was 112 degree sooooo hot! the next day we drove to Flagstaff spent the night and the next day we went to the Grand Canyon that was something OMG so nice, beautiful place we spent the whole entire day walking and riding the buss from one view point to another it was really good. So tired we ate dinner until 10:00 pm it was acquired eating so late and then 20min later going to sleep soooo tired I couldn't wait no more then 20 min. Yesterday we drove back home 5 hour drive it wasn't to too bad.
It was fun but not being able to workout or eat my own cooking was bad I tried to eat as healthy as I could I don't even want to check the scale I'm going to freak out for sure....
So 2 long weeks with out working out I have to go slow and build-up its going to be tough.
I hope you are doing good Pam, What are you doing? Are you still doing the same rotation? I don't even know what to do today!

Eunice Welcome back! I was getting so lonely! I love the pictures and I can't believe how much you DH looks like his father! When I first looked at the picture I thought that was DH in the front! I have NEVER been to the Grand Canyon. So glad to hear that you had so much fun. I guess we need to start researching the next rotation now. Any ideas?

I know you are glad to be home and I bet that the whole family missed eating your cooking too! I bet they are really happy to have you back. As you can see it's been pretty quiet around here. Janie is in Las Vegas and I'm not sure what happened to Cheryl this week  Kelly hasn't popped in for awhile. I hope you are staying put for awhile!

Pam

We are doing really good. Rolly did very well traveling, but it's a bit much for the kitties. Right now they are in a room with AC, food and bed. They are now doing very well. Poor things, but if they live with us, it has to be done. Here are a few pictures of acrylic paintings I've done.

I've been doing lots of long walks, and went to the gym this morning. Worked every muscle I own. LOL It was great!

These are old pictures and was able to upload them instantly. I do better work now, but haven't done any painting in a while lately, so busy doing other things. Will get back to it this Winter sometime.

Pam, You poor thing, you were all alone! You did fantastic workouts these past few days, and I'm very proud of you for your consistency on them. Good for you. Glad you had a rest day and watched a movie.

Enunice, Looks like you had a wonderful vacation. I love all your pictures!

I hope all will continue with posting, or maybe you are like me and on vacation. We/I miss you when you aren't here. You all are important here for much needed support and knowledge. Thank you for keeping me on the straight and narrow, it really works for me.

Take care everyone,

Janie

I'm back........

Sorry to be MIA but it has been a busy week. It seemed that after my workouts on Monday and Tuesday I didn't have time to sit in front of the computer and Wednesday I needed to do some running around after work because it was my Dad's birthday yesterday (which was Canada Day) and it was my mom's the day before. So I was busy making things for a BBQ at my brother's house. But everything should be back to normal now and I should be back to checking in pretty much everyday. I guess you were feeling a bit lonely weren't you Pam. It is weird when you are used to having people post on a regular basis and then they are gone......

Pam With our crappy summer (it rained for Canada Day and our BBQ) I would look forward to a warm lake. I am still dressed as it is still Spring or fall, jeans, sweatshirt UGH!!! I have only worn shorts once so far this year. Those low end lunges in MM can never end fast enough for me, and pushups for me are really really tough. Wow a cold front came in a now it is only 80  Wow it is still in the 60s here. Glad to here that you enjoyed the Phish concert. I have heard of them but I have no idea what they sound like.

Janie Family reunions can be a lot of fun. It is good to see people that you haven't seen in years. But it can be weird when you see someone that you used to babysit and change their diapers and now they are married with kids of their own. It kinda makes you feel really old........
Dogs really do travel well. I can relate to the kitties not doing well. Ours hate the car and always cry all the way to the vet. Wow Janie you are talented. Those are really good pictures that you did. I wish I could paint. The most I can do is stick men :D

Eunice Glad to see that you are feeling better. I don't think I have been to the Grand Canyon. If I was it was when I was really little. I loved your pictures. I agree with Pam that your hubby looks a lot like his Dad.

Well overall I have been staying consistant with the workouts except for this morning because I was way too tired to do much of anything. I am very glad that I have today off from work so I have a four day weekend.

Well have a great Saturday everyone and I will check back tomorrow.

Cheryl

wow, it's so nice to see everyone back, I was getting lonely ;)
Janie I can't believe how talented you are! Your paintings are beautiful!! I'm so impressed! I didn't realize you were bringing your kitties on your trip, I imagine they were pretty stressed if they are anything like mine. One of them does ok, but the other one gets so paniced and starts to hyperventilate just going a couple of miles to the vet. if I had to take him on a longer trip I would have to medicate him. I bet you are sore today after that visit to the gym yesterday!

Cheryl It's more important that you were able to get the workouts in than to be able to get here to talk about them :) It sounds like you had quite the busy week, sorry to hear you are still having lousy weather  It was pretty silly after the concert the other night we stayed around in the parking lot having our dessert while we waited for the traffic to clear and I had to cover up with a blanket. I guess I really am getting used to the warm weather since it wasn't that cold. The humidity has been completely gone the last few days though and that makes a big difference since our humidity is usually 100% or close to it. Our lake has cooled off quite a bit too with the cooler weather. It is such a shallow lake that the temps change fast. I am with you on push ups - I just don't think they ever get any easier! I am really not a big Phish fan but our good friend just loves them and got us started going to their shows a couple of years ago. The shows are very fun, they are like a throwback to the Grateful Dead. The crowd is pretty much hippies of all ages and we stand out like sore thumbs! But everyone is just so nice and friendly and just having fun. I hope you are enjoying your 4 day weekend. We only get 3, but I'll take it!

This morning I did the Drill max ultra cardio blast pre-mix. Wow, that was a killer! I must say it wasn't one of my favorite pre-mixes though. I really didn't like repeating all the drills twice - it was too repititive. And of course after doing1 and 2 twice I started realizing I was going to have to do that stability ball drill twice  But at least I made it through!

Eunice I hope you are all recovered from your travels and not too sore from getting back into the workouts!!

Have a great Saturday everyone!
Pam

Joey and Dan took Rolly out for an hour walk this morning before the temp gets too hot. It was 105 yesterday. Yikes! I went to the gym and used the treadmill.

Cheryl, It's always so nice to hear from you. I know how it gets when it's busy times. Sometimes everyday are busy times to a lot of folks. Glad to see you are consistent with your exercises. Enjoy your rest day, it is well deserved. Thank you for the compliments of my painting. It means a lot.

Pam, Thank you for your compliments on my paintings. I do love doing them.:)

I think next time (for our kitties) we will get some meds to calm them down. Poor things. They are really enjoying themselves now. Relaxing in a huge bedroom with AC, playing with their toys and just relaxing from the big trip they went though.

OOOOOh, you did a great workout. I've never did that prmix before. Sounds great for me. Yeah, you made it through.

Eunice, How are you doing?

Take care everyone, will be back later to hear from you all,

Janie

Pam Our weather here still sucks. It is supposed to get better next week. I hope they are right because coats and jeans are getting a bit tiring.
It is funny how you can get used to a certain tempature and then when it gets a little bit cooler it feels really cold. I didn't do the Drill max ultra cardio blast pre-mix:eek: I thought just doing it normally was hard enough.

Janie Enjoy your workouts at the gym. At least it is air conditioned. Wow 105 that is really hot. If we ever had to take our kitties on a long car trip I think I would get them some meds too. They wouldn't travel well and they would also drive us nuts with all of the meowing that they would do.

This morning I did Cardio Core Circut. I know it wasn't in the rotation but I felt like doing that one for some reason. :)

Hi Eunice and Kelly.

Enjoy Independence Day tomorrow everyone.

Cheryl

Janie 105 - definitely sounds like a day to workout inside to me! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your artwork! I'm glad to hear that your kitties have recovered from their stress :p It sounds like they are enjoying themselves now!

Cehryl I would be going crazy if I had to wear jeans and coats this time of year! The only time I have to wear a coat is when I'm sitting in my office because they keep the air conditioning so cold  I prefer Drill Max regular. It's a tough workout no matter how you do it!

Ummm...you FELT like doing CCC? Here I thought you were sane! I hope you enjoyed it!

Hi Eunice and Kelly, hope you are doing well. Eunice Are your in-laws still there? Doing anything fun for the 4th?

Since I took Friday off I am a day behind on my rotation so I did Cardio and Weights this morning. Always a fun one and I really like the abs at the end. Then I ruined it by making these cinnamon and sugar coated muffins for breakfast  They sure were good though! Happy Sunday and Happy Independence Day everyone! Eunice Give your husband a big hug from us to thank him for his service to our country!

Pam

Enjoy Independence Day tomorrow everyone.

Cheryl[/QUOTE]

Pam I don't like it when it gets really hot but I would like to put on some shorts and not feel like turning up the heat in the morning to get the chill off.
I don't know what I was thinking with wanting to do CCC. I enjoyed the first part and then asked myself.....why did you want to do this??????

I am looking at Cathe's July rotation now. I still had one more week of Fitness Freaks rotation but I feel like I need a change now. I may start it tomorrow. Today was just some stretching since my back felt a bit tight. Those muffins sound good. At least you ruined it with something yummy :D

Hope everyone is enjoying their Independence Day.

Cheryl

Thanks Pam I will hug my DH for you! No we don't have any big plans for tonight we had have being going to bed late the past few days, we went to the movies to watch the 9:00 pm movie:) not good for me in the middle of the movie I found my self taking a nap!! so tonight I'll go to bed early...
I just want to let you know guys this month its going to be hard for me to come to the forums I have my girls and DH at home so like I said before there is a line waiting for the computer! Yes I know not fun.
So I hope everyone its doing better then I..... boring over here... hot! Cheryl hot!! 105. 110 degrees so nothing fun...
Today was a rest day for me but tomorrow I wish I can go back to normal.
Pam & Cheryl I will be doing the May rotation if anyone its interested lets do that one....
PS. I'm sorry I've not being able to read all of your post. I'll tried but not sure.
Have a good Sunday!!!!

Eunice Post when you can. I know it can be tough to get on the computer when some many people want to use it. Wow that is hot. It is just getting nice here. They are saying that it should get to about 80 by the end of the week.

I think I am going to cut back on my workouts since it is getting nice here. I think it will be too hard to really stick to a rotation until at least September or October. Tonight I did the Timesaver disk workout #1.

Pam, Janie and Kelly hope you had a great Monday.

Cheryl
