Lurkers Invitation 2010

Cheryl Traveling alone can just wipe you out, then throw in the time changes, the stressful flights and the long days and I can understand you being exhausted. Hopefully the weekend will help you get back to normal. That Step Blast SJP cardio circuit sounds like a great workout! It combines my favorite parts of those 2 workouts so I can't wait to do that one.

Janie Wow, 3 hours of gardening sounds wonderful! Are you growing veggies/flowers?? I may have to try making my own wild yeast culture, it does sound interesting. I have never heard of Cathe's TBS. It must be a good one though huh? Is it one that is still available? Were you able to get your Firm tapes copied onto DVD? I tried but wasn't successful :( I definitely had DOMS yesterday and still have them today! Cathe sure knows how to work the legs and glutes!!!

This morning was LIC without the abs. That is a fun one, I always forget about it but always enjoy it. Now we are off to the lake for a ski and then to a cookout  Have a great Saturday everyone!

Pam

Janie Wow gardening for 3 hours is a workout in itself. With all of the bending and lifting. I haven't done much so far this year since the weather has been lousy but I am hoping to do more in the coming weeks. I took Thursday off from working out but I was back at it on Friday. I needed a day to recover from the time change. It was funny to see my classmate at work. We caught up on a few things.

Pam I am feeling much better now that I have had time to relax. The flight home is always soooo long. I really liked the Step Blast SJP cardio circuit. LIC is one of my favorites too. Enjoy your time at the lake.

Today was Maximum Intensity Strength. This one one of my first Cathe workouts. I hadn't done it for a long time and I forgot how hard it was. Tomorrow is Kick Punch and Crunch. Another one of my favorites.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Cheryl

Well I guess everyone is busy today for Father's Day. We went over to my brother's for lunch. The weather was crappy as usual so we couldn't sit outside.
This morning was Kick Punch and Crunch one of my favs.

Have a great Monday eveyone.

Cheryl

Cheryl Glad to hear that you were able to get rested up after your long week, but sorry to hear you are still having such lousy weather :( It's been very hot here, but I like it that way!. Saturday we went and skiied with the kids in the morning, then went to a cookout and then went back to the lake and skiied again that evening. Yesterday was my rest day so no workout We went to the lake in the morning and were there until about 2:00, then took the kids shopping and for milkshakes :)
This morinng I did the SB SJP cardio circuit premix and the abs from SJP. You're right Cheryl, that is a really good pre-mix! I guess that means I have MIS tomorrow  I haven't done that one in ages! Happy Monday everyone, I hope everyone had a nice weekend and Father's day.

Pam

Pam It looks like it is just you and me right now. Glad to hear that you are having good weather. I prefer it to be nice and warm not really hot but we aren't even getting the nice and warm yet. Sounds like you had a busy weekend. I really liked that SB SJP premix. I would like to do that one again. I hadn't done MIS for a year or two so I forgot how hard it was.

Today was STS Disk 35 Plyo Legs. Man sweat was dripping off of me after that one.

Have a great Tuesday.

Cheryl

Pam and Cheryl, I know that it's not very busy here lately, just wanted you both to know, you are super.;)

It was a busy day yesterday for Father's Day. Went to our favorite restaurant and enjoyed ourselves.

Today Joey and I did the usual, and I added in Cardio and Weights. Whew! That was wonderful.

Hope everyone had a great couple of days. See you all tomorrow.

Janie

Cheryl Hopefully once you do get that nice warm weather it will hang out for awhile. It seems like it has been the craziest year weather wise everywhere. We are getting our normal summer weather now though. Hot, humid and dry. It's supposed to be 99 on Thursday! whew. In addition to having the workouts planned out and not having to think about what to do each day the next best thing about doing these rotations for me has been discovering the premixes. I used to think that if I didn't the do the dvd exactly as it was recorded that I was cheating, but some of the pre-mixes are harder than the original workouts. I am supposed to do KPC tomorrow, but I don't have that one, so will need to decide if I want to go download it or sub in something else. I have disk 35 on Thursday - I know what you mean about dripping sweat with those plyo leg workouts, and then I can't sit down for a couple of days afterward either! :p

Today I did MIS. I think it might be only the second time I have ever done it. I had to do down in weight on my barbell for everything except legs and back. It was tough! It was funny looking at the outfits and the big hair though :D

Janie Nice to hear from you! It sounds like you have been doing a great job with your workouts! A double for you yesterday!! It sounds like you had a wonderful Father's day, good for you! I haven't done Cardio and Weights in awahile but that is a good one. I could never understand why some people in the forums complained about it being easy - I have never found it easy at all!

Kelly I hope you aren't working too hard. Stop in and say hi!
Eunice I hope you are having a fabulous time in Mexico. Can't wait for the stories and the pictures!

Pam

Today is our 19th Anniversary. Yea! We are celebrating with with a Turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Busy in the kitchen, but I love cooking anyways. Will also have a berry cobbler made of strawberries and raspberries from our garden last year. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I did Step Moves today. Also, planning on some yoga, for my way of stretching.

Pam, I love MIS, it's a great workout. It is fun doing an exercise that is an oldy but a goody and kicks butt.:D

Have a great day,

Janie

Janie HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!! :D Your meal sounds fabulous! Every time we make turkey at Thanksgiving we ask ourselves why we don't have that meal more often, and then we never remember until Thanksgiving rolls around again! The cobbler sounds wonderful too. I hope you 2 enjoy it, I know you will!

Pam

Janie HAPPY ANNIVERSARY......I hope you enjoy your day. The turkey dinner sounds wonderful. Sounds like you have had a busy couple of days. I like Cardio and Weights too. It is one I haven't done in awhile either.

Pam Well the weather was really nice today. I could actually go outside without a coat on  I'm not too used to that LOL. 99 degrees is wayyyy to hot for me. I'm like you and always thought I was cheating if I did the premixes. I do like them though and you are right they can be harder that the actual workout. Fitness Freak has some good ones in her rotation. KPC is one of my all time favorites, but I didn't think you like kickboxing so I am not sure if you would enjoy this one. It is funny looking at the old workouts with the outfits and hair. I had to drop the weight on the barbell too. I used to be able to do the same weight as Cathe but not now.

Today was Rythmic Step. I couldn't finnish this one fast enough. I really do like it but I think because it was so nice out I didn't want to workout at all. It would have been so nice just to sit out on the patio instead :(

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

Janie I hope you enjoyed that turkey dinner! Now you get to have all of the fun leftovers, which may be better than the original dinner!

Cheryl So glad to hear that you got some nice weather! I understand not wanting to be inside working out even if it was rhythmic step. Sitting on the patio with a glass of wine would've been very very tempting! Good job getting through the workout! I have seen a lot of positive comments about KPC and was even thinking about getting it because it seems to be a real favorite of so many people, but figured I don't really need another kickbox workout.

Since KPC was on the calendar for today I had to come up with an alternative. I decided to go with 40/20 and then yoga inspired abs. It was nice getting such an intense workout done in only 45 minutes! That plank section at the end of the yoga abs just kills my hands though. I have an issue with neuropathy (sp?) and my hands were numb by the end of that (still are but not as bad!) I'll have to remember that for next time and go with another option.

Hi Eunice and Kelly!! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Pam

Did TBS with Joey but I used lighter weight and made it a warm up. Then did LIC with the shoulder workout. Also took Rolly out for a 40 min. walk. That's plenty for today.

Pam, We did enjoy our special meal, and now we have left overs for freezing until we want it again. It was sooooooooo good.

You did a great job on those workouts, but so sorry you are having a problem with the blanks because of the nerves in your hands. Must be frustrating at times. Will it be OK later?

Cheryl, Oh, I haven't done Rythmic Step in awhile. I bet you enjoyed that one. It is tempting for me too, to get things over with quickly just to do other things when the weather is so good. Proud of ya.;)

Janie

Pam It looks like we are finally getting summer. It is not really hot but today was the first day that I could leave in the morning without a coat. 40/20 and Yoga abs is tough even if it is only 45 minutes long. Those planks at the end are tough enough without having issues with your hands. Hope the numbness didn't last long. Could you maybe do the planks with your elbows bent and the weight on your forearms instead ?

Janie There is nothing better than turkey leftovers. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Wow you had a very active day today, way to go.

I was really tired today after work so I took today off from working out. I did do an hour long walk all together today on my lunch hour and my walk from the train to my office. I do this every day so if I do miss a workout at least I did something.

Have a great Thursday.

Cheryl

Janie You had a very active day, good job!
Cheryl So glad to hear you are finally getting summer! The ony time I have to wear a coat these days is when I'm inside because they keep it so cold! My hands were fine by about noon yesterday. It's nothing serious, just a nerve weakness that they decided many years ago was genetic. It can just be an annoyance sometimes. I had discovered that doing pikes on my fists works really well, so I may try that next time. More likely I'll just avoid the yoga abs until I forget about it though!
Eunice Welcome back! Looking forward to hearing from you!

No workout for me today. I'm having some overuse issues with my ankles. Yesterday I was actually limping and walking very slowly, so time to take it easy for awhile. It's already feeling quite a bit better this morning, but I think at least a couple more days of resting and stretching are probably in order. Have a great Thursday!

Pam

Put two gardens to bed since we won't be here to take care of it. Took about 2 hrs to put black sheeting on top of them. Rolly helped of course. Then weeded the asparagus patch and walked Rolly. Got a lot accomplished.

Cheryl, We all need a an unscheduled rest from time to time. Glad you did it, and listened you your body.

Pam, I'm so sorry to hear that you are having ankle problems. Do take it easy and feel better and stronger when you do get back into your workouts. I bet it is so frustrating for you.:( Hang in there.

Janie

Hello Pam, Janie, Cheryl, Kelly!!!! How is everyone doing?! I'm doing great... I just got back home yesterday after noon, it was a long trip and I was pretty tired with the time change I was literally up at 3am until 11pm... I'm just getting back to normal, I did workout today I did Drill Max it was good its being a while since I workout.
Pam! what happen to you? I haven't read the whole thing but I over read that you got hurt what happen?!
It was so much fun! 7 days, not enough time to have fun and enjoy being with my family. I went to Taxco, I went to the Plaza or zocalo at Cuernavaca I ate Tamales Oaxaquenos, Pozole, taquitos al pastor, mole verde, tlacoyos, that's some of the typical food. I took a lot of pictures too, I saw all of my brothers ans sisters but one. I will post some pictures later, I have my in-law at home so its going to be a little while.
I can't wait to get back to normal....
Have a good day everyone...

Pam It is good to take some time off. I think we all get so involved with trying to stay in shape that we sometimes forget to do that. A couple of days off to do some stretching will be good to let your ankles recover.

Janie I can just picture Rolly helping you put black sheeting on your gardens. I love asparagus too.

Eunice Welcome back. Glad to hear that you had a good time and sounds like a lot of good food too. Time time goes by really fast doesn't it. Looking forward to see your pictures.

It was a pilates day for me today. Now I am off to look at a DVD that I just received in the mail on Behind the Moments of the Olympics. I had no idea that I was getting it. I think it is a tribute to all of the work the volunteers did for the Olympics. I the letter that came with it called us the "Blue Jacket People" I just like to think of us as Smurfs!!!

Have a great Friday.

Cheryl

Janie When are you leaving for Utah? Sounds like you are getting things ready for it I'm sure Rolly was a lot of help in getting those gardens taken care of :p
After only one day of rest my ankle was feeling so much better. It was painful to the touch on Wednesday! I've seen this before though - when it starts hurting to walk down the stairs it is time to take a little rest. I was planning on taking off until Monday, but it was feeling so good yesterday that I decided to test it out this morning and it did great! Hooray! :D

Eunice Glad to have you back! It sounds like you had a great time, I can't wait to hear more and see the pictures. I see you wasted no time getting back into the workouts either!! Did you get some beautiful silver in Taxco? I didn't really do anything, my ankle was just bothering me from overuse. The good news is that with only 1 day off i was able to get back into working out again.. My plan had been to take off until Monday, but it was feeling so much better I thought I'd give it a try this morning and it felt great. Yea!
7 days really does go by fast doesn't it, especially when there is so much to do and so many people to see. It sounds like you had some amazing food! Do you have a good recipe for those taquitos al pastor? That is one I would like to make! I seem to recall you have some big plans now with your in-laws too?!

Cheryl You're right about needing some time off sometimes. I hardly ever do that anymore but I think our bodies let us know when we really have to do it! My husband was worried that I wouldn't take a rest day yestserday - he thanked me for taking the day off

How was the DVD from the Olympics? What a nice surprise! You're right though, Smurfs sounds MUCH better than the Blue Jacket People! Wre you glad that you weren't in Ottawa this week when they got the earthquake? What a surprise that was! My brother is in Ontario at our cottage and he said that he was sitting in a rocking chair and the chair started rocking and the pictures on the wall were all rattling! yikes!

Kelly Stop in and say hi this weekend!

I did disc 35 plyo legs this morning. I like the plyo leg workouts because of the cardio factor I was completely soaking wet by the time I was done! Then I did the abs from LIC. It continues to be really hot here - 101 yesterday. But of course I love it! I'm glad you are finally getting some nice weather Cheryl. Hopefully it will stick around for awhile. Everyone have a great Friday!

Pam

Did TBS with Joey and I using lighter weight and used it for a warm up. Took Rolly out for 45 min. walk and did the Wedding video all the way through. Consisted of about 45-50 min. step and a full body weight workout.

Getting packed for the family reunion and will be back Sunday sometime. Monday will pack for the family reunion in Las Vegas. Will leave Tuesday and will come home towards the end of July. Not sure exactly when we will be home, too many variables in place. Should be tons of fun!

Hope to have some time to post before we leave for Vegas, if not will talk later once we get there. Then will report how it's going in Vegas. In-between times there will be lots of traveling.

Take care everyone and enjoy the beautiful weather, your workouts and each other.

Janie

Pam Glad to hear your ankle is better. Disk 35 is a killer isn't it. I know when I did it I was dripping with sweat too. The DVd from the Olympics is good. It lets you see everything else that went on behind the scenes that you were never aware of. There is still a part with pictures that I haven't had a chance to look at yet. Hopefully I can look at that tomorrow. Yeah I was glad that I wasn't in Ottawa last Wednesday. That quake was felt for a long way. It really freaked people out because they had no idea what was happening. Some of our staff were on a conference call with Ottawa when it happened. Needless to say that that call was cut short LOL. I heard that they let people go home around 3:00 so they could check on their own homes. I remember when a quake hit Seattle in 2000 or 2001. We felt it here and wow what a weird feeling. I remember that I had a major headache afterwards.

Janie Have fun at your family reunions. Wow you have a nice long break. Enjoy your vacation and post and let us know how you are doing when you get a chance.

Today was STS Kickboxing for me. It was a day off for me at work so this morning it was a Costco run and then housework afterwards. I can't believe how much crap that vaccuum still pulls out of the carpet. I have to empty it at least twice before I am finnished

Hi Eunice and Kelly.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Cheryl
