husband appreciation thread

My DH went out today and bought new wood flooring to replace our nasty dining room carpet (bought the house with it  -- must not have had kids!) and will stay home this weekend, while I go to the beach with my 2 DDs and sister, to install it!!! :D:D:D:D

How cool is that?! :) Oh yea - I love him!!!

No, no, no, *I* have the most wonderful hubby in the world!! :p

I just love the stuffings out of that man, he is my absolute best friend and champion! He makes me laugh every single day, he kills spiders for me, records anything dealing with forensics on Tivo for me (that's my "thing"), and just makes our home a big, comfy wonderful place to come home to :)

This is a lovely thread, thanks so much for starting it!

PS: Ha, ha, I just noticed my signature looks funny on this thread!!

I just love this thread.

My DH is my best friend, my lover, my companion and sometimes my pet. He does all (and I mean ALL) of the housework, up to and including cleaning down the bathroom every day and he just did the mid-week ironing tonight while I was working out. He spoils me rotten, encourages anything I wish to try, acts like I hung the moon, all the while schlepping day after day to a job he is very indifferent to despite the fact that he's old enough to retire. He does that because he wants to take care of me. He's responsible to a fault, a tenacious three-o'clock-in-the-morning friend to his friends, more of a rock than a rocket, and he's mine, all mine.

And . . . he's an endearingly goofy little sh*t, and still rather on the handsome side!

Love this thread.

Where would I even begin? He's super cute, has a wicked sense of humor, is an amazing cook, great kisser, smart, knows how to fix everything, proposed to my then 8-year-old daughter when he proposed to me, and he even exchanged vows with her at the wedding.

We are some lucky ladies aren't we??:D

My DH came home early today to take me morell mushroom hunting. He even waited for me to finish my STS workout and get showered before we left, without a single complaint.

He emptied the mouse traps (that finally got results) in the garage. Ewww!

He helped DS study for his spelling test while I made dinner.

He makes me laugh when I'm frustrated at the world.....

He is extremely patient with me and never holds a grudge (with anyone).

I was joking with him today in the truck that he is Jesus in disguise....that apparantly he needed more of a challenge than his first trip here so he decided to marry and live with me.:rolleyes::eek: Yup - that's quite the challenge for sure, especially during PMS!!!!:) Thankfully he's such a gem and a kind hearted soul.....I'm a very lucky woman.

There is not a single day of the 21 years I have been married that I have not felt my husband is the best husband ever.

Recently I had a health crisis during which I completely lost it. My husband was amazing! He is superman. During good times and bad.

This is my favorite thread ever!!!

Well I think *I* have the bestest DH ever!!! :D I really don't know where to begin. We'll celebrate our 25th anniversary this year. He's so good to me and my whole family. He does things that melt my heart ALL the time, like when he sent me flowers on the anniversary of my mom's passing. He was in Germany at the time and knew it was a somber, sad day for me, so he called my favorite florist and ordered the most stunning bouquet I have ever seen! Or the time he came home with a Hanna Montana purse and he asked me to put $10 in it and gift wrap it. He's a pediatrician and he bought it for one of his little patients who had reached a significant goal and he wanted to reward her. There are too many things to list, but he demonstrates his love in million little ways every single day.

Two weekends ago my dog died. She was 13 and I feel as though we grew up together. This was a HUGE loss for me, esp. since I don't have kids. She stayed outside a lot on our patio. Since she died the patio and backyard look so lonely, and it was making me very sad. I didn't say anything to my husband or anyone about it, choosing instead to silently sufffer :(

I came home from work one day to find that my husband had left work early and totally redid the entire patio- hung up lots of hanging baskets with beautiful flowers, windchime, bird feeder, and a couple of large, cheerfully bright potted flowers. It is stunning! How he knew that I needed this I have no idea, but it's another reason why he's my soul mate and best friend. Now when I look outside, which I can from every angle of the center of the house, I see how beautiful it looks and don't feel as sad.

DH

My DH treats me like a queen. :D He's my best friend. He'd do anything in the world for me... anything that makes me happy. I don't know how I'd ever live without him. We'll be celebrating our 20th on 09/09/09. :)

BTW Gayle, I have to say, I am not a dog person but I love boxers! I've known a couple and they have both been magnificent, amazing dogs!

I think they're way cool. :) Rascal has managed to convert a few non-dog people.

Sparrow, you just reminded me that another reason I appreciate DH is that he has the same attitude about pets as family members that I do. :)

I also wouldn't know where to begin to list all of the wonderful things about my DH. He made a fabulous dinner last night (rack of lamb and a yummy multi-grain side dish with asparagus from his veggie garden...don't even know what it was called) and then the old softie also made homemade matzoh ball soup because he wanted to make the kids happy. Yum! He has been my best friend since we were teenagers and I don't know where I would be without him.

He made me buy STS when I was on the fence about it, promising to do it with me....we're starting TODAY! He also made sure that I pre-ordered the push pull tower when I started to waffle about that too. He is a big part of why fitness is a daily part of my life now and he is my biggest cheerleader.

Oh, I could just go on and on, but I'll stop for now. So happy to see how many DHs are (almost) as great as mine!:D;)

This is a great thread! After almost 16 years of me, he still doesn't complain about me even when I am a little short-tempered (or maybe a lot):D We have 2 daughters and he has always been willing to help with anything with them and just always be there for us no matter what!

Wonderful thread!

Mine puts up with my "hobbies" whether I want to learn a new useless skill like pole dancing or jewelry making. Paid for my Reiki and reflexology classes (not cheap). Is my guinea pig whenever I need to practice something new I've learned on someone no matter what it is!

Eats my experimental meals or scrounges without complaint when I don't feel like cooking!

Etc., etc., etc. . . . sigh . . . don't tell him how great he is often enough!

This thread is making me cry!!!
It's so nice to read such wonderful things about all the fab DHs.

Needless to say, mine is the best! :p
He does all the cooking and menu-planning and then all the cleaning up after. We share responsibilities 50/50. He's also a great dad.
When DD and I got back from a trip to Spain the other week, he'd bought flowers and filled two vases.
He just popped back from work while I was doing DM and complimented me on how great I looked (red-faced, sweaty ...;)).
Whenever I want to go out with friends or go away, he always encourages me.

I could go on ...

Mine said "maybe" he'd take me to see Star Trek if I "really really really want to go." Seriously, that's pretty good for him because he doesn't like spending money on movies and he's not a Star Trek fan. He's definitely no saint like some of your hubbies.
