Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for December 2020

No workouts this week. I have been sick. I went and got tested for covid today and the quick test said negative so I had them do the other one. Regardless, I have been running fevers, abdominal distress, for some reason my rib cage hurts right now. I have done a lot of sleeping. One of my friends tested positive that I was around last Tuesday. They said if I kept having the abdominal pain with fever I should go to emergency. So, I am just staying away from workouts and getting lots of rest. My younger daughter is bringing the grandchildren tomorrow as my grandson has his testing at 11 and I have his school tablet and work. She did all of his lessons for this week with him. His Dad will pick them up. It has been snowing and icy. I think it will let up tomorrow afternoon. I guess I will distance and wear my mask just in case and hopefully whatever is going on is not contagious.

Belinda, that JS 4 mile Power Walk always gets me 3.5 miles. It really does get a lot of steps in. Yeah for the positive results on those tests. I bet that makes you feel so much better. I am so glad for you.

Doreen, nice work on with the GHUTV workouts this week.

Debbie, nice that you are getting some yoga in. I am sorry you have to deal with those knots all of the time.

Jolie, Christmas is coming up fast. I have not purchased anything for my husband yet. The things on his wish list are big and the thought of adding beg things when we will probably be moving seems counter productive. He keeps ordering me things and giving them to me:) Our family Christmas celebration is this Sunday and my husband has a dinner reservation with gift exchange with his guys. I need to feel better. This is another reason that I wanted to do the other covid test.

I need to pick up and get to bed since I will be getting up early tomorrow. I have had 2 naps today along with a 7 hour sleep night. I have been sleeping a lot, although that 7 hours was broken up because of shooting pains in my foot and up my side and the stomach pain.

This morning I walked again for a bit, got my HR up and walked for about 35 minutes I think. Upper back is feeling better today so didn't want to chance it. I've been taking Aleve so that is probably why it is feeling better. Once it wears off I'm sure it will start hurting again.

So I've been having a hard time thinking of something to get my husband this year and the only hobby or interst he has is astronomy - so.... I bought him a Star!! It is in the constellation of Orion. I know most people would think this is a weird or stupid gift, but I really think he will love it. The gift set I bought comes with a certificate with his name on a star, a map of the area in the sky that it is located and a software that he can see when the star is visible in the sky. He and his brothers have all kinds of sky watching equipment so I'm hoping one day he'll be able to see his star. I'm so excited about it!!

Diane - I am so sorry to hear you are sick, I sure hope it's not COVID but your symptoms don't sound good. This virus is so scary, it seems inevitable that we will all get it eventually. I will pray for you to recover soon and hope that isn't what it is. Take care. Hugs.

Belinda - I'm glad to hear your tests came back normal, that is great news!! I think doing JS workouts is a good plan, at least you get your HR up and get a good amount of steps in. Are you still following STS?

Jolie - Nice job with your kick @ss workout yesterday! You really burn some good calories, I'm jealous! My body needs an entire overhaul. LOL!! I don't know why my muscles give me such issues. It's frustrating.

Gotta get going, have a great day and workouts everyone!!!

Good morning,

STS Meso 1 Week 3 Back & Triceps plus SBF D17 TB Cardio Hiit = 40 min.

If you have time and want to read a little about Relapsing Polychondritis here is a link that explains what I am dealing with and why I am so happy the CT scan didn't show anything upnormal :https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/relapsing-polychondritis/

Debbie - thank you! glad you feeling better today. Great job today. I think it's a wonderful and thoughtful gift for your DH. This year we decided not to give gifts. Last minute, we all decided to give thoughtful gifts. I bought bought my kids a fire proof bag, they can put in important documents/money you name it. My son is moving the end of Jan of next year. He bought his first house in El Paso, TX. It's a matter of fact him and my DIL are signing for the new house today. DH and I buy him a security system like door bell or whatever it's called. DD likes to get pampered. I will give her a gift card to get her hair/nails/or tanning. At least I know they will use it. At least you know your DH loves it :) Yes, I am still following STS. I just have to modify my cardio.

Diane - thank you! I hope it's not COVID either. Rest and feel better my friend. Sounds like you getting lots of rest.

I need to get ready for my appointments. Hopefully the weather isn't to bad to drive. BBL!

This morning I did RAW Heavy Bag Chest and Back. Was ok workout- I think I just wasn't into it.

I'm trying to decide if I take the next class for my master's this spring or not... I keep thinking its shaping up to be a crazy spring with my sister having baby #4, my son's graduation and not really knowing what my daughter's volleyball season will look like... I signed up but may see what the syllabus looks like and then decide if I want to drop or not. Its online, Monday and Wednesday from 8-9:15 pm... mostly I'm just worried about the homework and reading.. and I think the mid-term will hit right about the tax deadline and the baby's arrival...

Today I walked on my treadmill again, took it up to 5% because I couldn't get my heart rate up. Walked for about 30 minutes and then I did Karen's Yoga Focus Stretch again. I'm telling you, for some reason that stretch really works for me, it's like magic. My shoulder is still really tight and I still have a slight knot, but it's so much better. I feel like I'm losing all my definition and muscle tone, it is bumming me out big time. I'm hoping to be able to at least be able to lift light next week. We'll see. I know I need to get to the bottom of this problem but I need to figure out who to contact. My family doctor has not clue about these things and I don't want to go to a chiropractor. Maybe my first step should be an xray. I'll see how I feel come the New Year.

Diane - I sure hope you are feeling better. Been thinking about you. Did you get your other COVID test back yet?

Gotta get going so no time for personals. Have great workouts everyone!!

this morning I did a Carol Doerner step on YT...

This one was a blast - great music and fun moves!

Good morning,

Yesterday DH and I got stuck in a snow storm going to my appointments. Usually what takes me 50-60 min took us 3.5 hours one way. Of course, I was 3.5 hours late for both my appointments. I even got my blood work done. My doctors are amazing, they took me in right away. I need my blood tested every 3 month to make sure the meds are not affecting my organs.I was glad when we were home last night.

We have about 15 inches of snow :(

Today I did Dance that walk 2. It was very low impact.

I will be back tomorrow.

Yesterday was my rest day, I had a doctors appointment to have my feet x-ray for bunion surgery and the pinched nerve fixed. Since that is an elective surgery, I wont be anytime soon.

Today another kick ass workout. I started with 40 minutes TM walk uphill and traveled 2.1 miles and burned 353 calories. Next I did STS disc 8, Back and Triceps and really lifted to failure. I went as heavy as I could for the 15 reps and I rowed on my rowing machine when there was band work since I dont have a band right now. Workout was 1 hour and 40 minutes and I burned 690 calories. :) Heart rate was 124/181

Diane Sue, I hope you dont have Covid and take your Vitamin D and Zinc! Do you have an Infra red light you can sit under?

Debbie, I swear it is always something with our bodies!!! My knee hurts again today but yesterday I felt the best I have ever felt in 10 years!!! I should stretch too!

Doreen, nice workout today. Boy you sure have a lot going on this coming year.

Belinda, wow on the snow, I wish we got some at least 1 time per year. Are you going to have a white Christmas? Nice job on the the workouts the last two days. I went up in my weights today and really challenged myself.

Make it a great day. I am getting my house cleaned, I am so excited because I always do it myself but I treaded myself today. :)

Today I finished up my recovery week with another walk on the treadmill. Had a pretty good walk and my heart rate got up there and I was sweating, so that was good.

Workout was 45 minutes, burned 293 calories, went 2.19 miles, did 5329 steps and HR was 120/140.

My shoulder and upper back is a bit better today. I used my Body Buddy and really pressed on those knots last night. These knots go all the way around to almost the front of my rib cage area, it's unbelievable. It really hurt to press on my lat muscle but maybe that is where all of this is transpiring from? I don't know, but I do know I need to get the muscles in that area loose or they will never recover.

Doreen - Nice workout, looks like fun!

Jolie - Aren't you guys under lockdown right now? I thought that was what I seen on Twitter but of course I never know what's true on there. Great job with your workout yesterday! Kicking @ss, that is for sure!! Nice job!

Belinda - I heard you all got hit with a ton of snow, we jut got the beginning of it and then it moves east of us. I seen some people on the east coast got 4 foot of snow. Holy crap! I remember that happening here in Ohio in 1978 but haven't seen anything like that since. Glad you made it to your appointment safely!!!

Roselyn - Great job with your cardio yesterday!

Diane - I sure hope you are getting better. Hope your COVID test was negative.

Have a great day and workout everyone!!!

This morning I did workout potpourri - I couldn't really decide and I started a GHUTV Build and Burn- then figured out it was cardio followed by strenght and I didn't want to do the cardio so after one round I fast forwarded to the strength section and did that - I quit before the abs section and swithched over to a GymRa workout on Youtube. It was a good selection - 3 separate circuits repeated on the Right, then left, then alternating. I could feel I was working but not completely burning out. I tagged in in youtube in my "workouts worthy of repeating" list because it was just a nice paced, basic move circuits and how difficult it is depends on how heavy of dumbells you grab.

Just stopping buy for an update. Still no workout. I was waiting for the second covid test results and till I felt energetic again. I just got results saying the longer test said covid is detected :(. So, it has been 7 days tomorrow night. No fever and I am keeping track of my Sp02 which my daughter gave me her monitor to check throughout the day. If it goes below 90 it is time to go to the hospital. I don't feel that bad though. Just mild headache, and tired. I have not had the loss of taste and smell that a lot of people have. Just the stomach thing and mild fever at the start.

Diane, get better before Christmas!

Today I could not workout because I had no power or water again, and the same thing for tomorrow. Today and tomorrow it is out from 6am to 1pm. Boy, it is a real problem down the street where the water main broke last week. oh well, at least I got a great workout in yesterday.

Debbie, bummer on those knots! I would have those checked out by a physical therapist or a sports therapist, regular doctors wont know what to do, they will just put you on pain pills.

Doreen, nice workout you found again!

Belinda, way to go on STS legs today!

Have a nice day.

I slept 10 hours and 42 minutes last night and after I was up awhile went back and slept 2 more hours. no fever today so far. This would be day 7. The plus is, with no workouts, I have no neck and shoulder upper back pain. It is kind of frustrating though as I know once I start back, unless I can figure out an alternative, it will probably come back. I will be glad when I can get back to normal again. So far my husband has not got covid. I have tried to stay away from him and sleep upstairs.

I did SBF D20 Inter.Seat work plus Foldover Target.

Diane - glad you getting lots of rest. Hope you recover soon. So sorry you are going through this.
