Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for December 2020

I did a short treadmill interval workout and upper body workout this morning from GHUTV. Which I also found that GHUTV has a Roku app- so that's easier than chromecasting from my phone and I will potentially use it more that way!

Jolie - thanks, I will check her out this weekend. I went lighter on STS legs today, still had an amazing workout today. So far, it didn't border my knees. I probably will do some KB + abs tomorrow. How about you

Today I was short on time so did Cathe Live Low Impact Cardio sweat and Core, 49 minutes, 254 calories, heart rate 133/165, 2,514 steps. My Fitbit did better today for some reason. I felt it was really loose, but sometimes even loose it does not pick up right. I never understand. I checked out yesterdays live, but when I saw Cathe up in the air I decided I had enough impact for a few days. Also was not ready to do boxing yet. Although this low impact has a few moves I had to be careful of. I really wanted to do some weights for upper, but a bit sore yet this morning, but better. Sleep was sound from around 1-5 then I woke and could not fall back asleep. I really wanted too. I used a vital proteins sleep shot along with New Chapter Magnesium with ashwagandha. You would think I would stay asleep.
I bought the Orgain Keto plant based protein powder yesterday. It is the one Kelly used in her protein bars. It tastes good, but has a lot of fat in it. Avocado oil, coconut oil, and cocoa butter. I only used 1 scoop as two scoops are a serving and that would make the container 10 servings along with 190 calories. If doing Keto I am sure that that is useful. 0 cholesterol though. It is the first plant based I don't hate.

I checked out the Raw heavy bag arms workout. It does include some lower body as a break, uses the barbell (I think Kelly was using 20 or 25 and Nicole was using 12's and nothing for the lower breaks, Kelly uses egg weights for boxing.
weights were 3 sets upper 12 reps then boxing then a lower move (one set) for breaks
biceps curls, squat press(push press?) , overhead triceps extension all 3 sets with boxing and lower moves. It looks like fun and I am hoping to do it soon.
lower moves squats, plie squats, front squats pulsing, squat knee up
body weight plie squat
close stance squat

Debbie, you are getting some really good workouts out of the Max trainer. I love that Raw workout too. I know exactly what area you are talking about. That burning stinging pain ends up right on the left side of the shoulder blade area. Weird as I have some pain in both sides along the front side of the shoulders, but so far it only goes down to the elbow once in awhile. Not as bad as when I had done the pt and had to have the steroid injection, which was a great relief though. Most of the pain is on the left side, but a little on the right side of the neck. I took 1 Advil last night as for some reason both shoulder blades felt like they were almost having something pinch. I try really hard to not use that though as they are really bad for you and for the joints. When I finally go to a doctor, I am at the point where I just can't take it anymore. Last year I could not sleep for the pain. It might be beneficial to go to a doctor. I am always hesitant on getting something like that started. It sure has been a long time for me and I am not done with it.

Belinda, nice work today. I am glad that it takes your mind off of what is going on with you. It helps me too, as far as feeling depressed. I don't have too much time to dwell on it though. I bet the SB was nice with a special Christmas workout. Praying for you with the CT scan and appointments that you have coming up.

Jolie, you are doing great with your run training. It sounds like your legs are getting quite a bit of work anyway with the other work. I think a weight workout with just some lower would be a great idea. Does ginavallesfit have a website or just Instagram. I deleted my Instagram when they sent out their policy changes. They are doing what so many are doing. I used them for fitness and family.
I would love to go to bed at 9, but I wait till my husband leaves to clean and he leaves around 8:30. I split up my housework, but it always ends up with me still having dinner clean up, child lessons to print up and have ready, and I try to give myself a couple of minutes to look at my e mail and things I have not had time for before I go to bed. At times that does not happen either. Last night I cleaned, folded laundry and paid some bills then when I got to the school work I found myself hunting down construction paper and dealing with my printer and it got very late. I try to be done with the main cleaning by Thursday night as my husband is off Fridays and generally gets up earlier and I do not want to have a whole lot of cleaning to do. When school opens again things hopefully will be better. The teacher had print outs this week packed up for next week and this week for parents to pick up. The problem is my daughter does not have the kids till Monday night so even though I contacted her, I won't get them till then. I have to create some of it myself. The teacher just started putting things together this week. She has too many children who do not have someone that has printers or can do this for them. Some are in daycare situations. My daughter does not live real close.

Doreen, I bet that was fun. Step workouts are usually not too hard for me to follow. Some of Amy Ross takes a bit of work till I get the moves though. I love step.

Roselyn, nice job getting hiit in.

Good morning,

Step Sync and SBF LB band target + Booty 2 all done.

Diane - thank you! I hope the CT scan shows a sinus infection nothing else. Sorry about your shoulders. I hope you feel better soon.

Roselyn - great job

Have a great Saturday, everyone.

Happy Saturday. I had a really hard time getting started today but once I did I ended up having a great workout. I damn near talked myself out of it today :( Today was CL Vertical Loading in place of STS legs. Since I am running and walking a lot I think this is enough legs for the week till I get in better shape with the running. I did really well with the weights and I added Leg Ext. and Leg curls in at the end using really lite weights and high reps. I burned 411 calories. I did not run today since that would be difficult to do after working legs.

Belinda, way to go with the workout today! I hate sinus infections, they kill me!!! I used to get them all of the time when I did a lot of cardio and i would compromise my immune system, that was my bodies way of telling me that I was over training. Now, I never get them because I dont workout like that anymore. Roselyn started STS with us :)

Diane Sue, How did you sleep last night? Gina does have a website, it is ginastotalfitness.com but she doesnt have anything about her auto immune issue on that website, it is for her training. I really like her, she is young but very knowledgeble and boy is she in great shape! She actually inspires me to workout every day.

Doreen, you really find some interesting workouts! Nice job.

Have a wonderful Saturday, my sons game is on at 6pm so I have to make something good to eat for pre game :)

Today I did Live Jingle all the Way 277, 53 minutes, 196 calories, 112/165 heart rate, 2,653 steps. I did the cardio twice which was 10 minutes so that other 10 minutes was 54 calories. I forgot to start my Fitbit back up after pausing at the end of the warm up. When I finished the cardio I realized what I had done so did it again and figured how many calories for the amount of time spent, if that makes since. So add 54 more calories. I then did Perfect 30 Flow mobility stretch timesaver, 20 minutes, 23 calories, heart rate 80/107. Total time 83 minutes, 273 calories, 2,711 steps + whatever I got for steps for the first 10 minutes which I bet was over 1000. At the end of workout I was at 4,819 steps.

Belinda, I hope it is just a sinus infection too. You have had to put up with that a lot. Nice work today

Jolie, I am glad that you got in your workout anyway. I bet you are glad that you did. My Fit bit called it good sleep last night at 6 and a half hours. I just remember coughing a lot. I ordered allegra and accidentally got 12 hour 60 mg tabs. I ordered the 180 prescription strength this morning and they will be here tomorrow. Those 60mg 12 hour do not work for me. I took one at 7 and another at noon. I asked my daughter in the medical field and she says she usually tells her patients to take another like claritin or zertec, but those increase my dry mouth and eyes and make me not feel well. She said since the other is coming tomorrow it probably won't hurt. I will spread out 3 today to get a full prescription dose. I am guessing they are timed release though. I would rather not take anything. I used Vital Performance recovery sleep before bed. It helps a little. I do not care to do a tough cardio along with legs. I really needed the stretch today. I got upstairs this morning and my one quad hurt. I never have my quads hurt. That hip flexor was really tight. I have not got as much stretching in this week.

Hi,

Tomorrow I have an early appointment with the orthopedist. I did STS Week 2 D4 CSB today. Had an excellent workout. I also did SBF D7 Christmas Stretch = 32 min. Felt great after STS.

Diane - thank you! I sure did put up with infections a lot. Great job yesterday.

Roselyn - great job with 30/30 Hiit. I can't remember the last time I did that one.

Jolie - I have chronic sinus problems ( that's what the ENT's told me all those years) Now I am not so sure anymore. Glad you never get sinus infections anymore.

I will be back tomorrow after my appointment. Have a great Sunday.

Today I did perfect 30 strength and flexibility stretch timesaver skipping the last 3 minutes as I had to get ready for church. I am hoping to get something in the next 3 days, but not sure if that is possible. I can't let the housework go just in case someone wants to look at the house. Not sure how many people are going to be looking at houses during the Christmas season though. I guess we are going to look at some next weekend. My husband has a pod being delivered the end of this next week so that we can load it with a bunch of extra things around here to a start and get rid of clutter.
My grandson has school and we have two scheduled 11:30 zoom tests for him Mon and Wed. That is when I usually work out. I have my ladies game day group gathering at 9 Tuesday and we are fixing up baskets for the shut ins. If I can not get up really early I may have to skip workouts.

Belinda, nice work on X Train and SB Christmas stretch. I hope that your appointment tomorrow with the orthopedist is helpful.

Today I did two cardio workouts again and had a great workout session.

I started with a Max Trainer workout, I did Max Shred 11 with Toby and it was quick but tough. 12 intervals alternating 10 second and 20 second sprints with 40 seconds recovery between then. I made the mistake and looked at my FB and the damn thing didn't go above 89 bpm except for when I first started. Ridiculous.

Workout was 14 minutes, burned 61 calories (MT said 133), went .38 miles, did 908 steps and HR was 93/135. My HR was way more than 135. I used the HR detector on the machine and it showed I was at 190 at one point.

Then I did Kelly's RAW Step #2, love the music in this workout. I did most of this workout but skipped the boxing segment because I had to get ready for work. Had a great workout, I really felt this one in my hips and outer thighs.

Workout was 32 minutes, burned 215 calories, did 3043 steps and HR was 125/163.

Diane - What is moving going to do for your grandkids? Will you still be able to home school them?

No time for personals this morning, I'm at work and need to get going. Have a great day everyone. And great workouts this weekend!!!

I did #FastPhysique Lower #1 workout today. 10 minute cardio primer on the bike, back squats pyramiding up and down. Then a circuit of Bulgarian squat, side lunges, jump squats for 10 reps, 4 rounds. Then I did a finisher from GHUTV... whew - sounded like a lot but not really!

This weekend we drove out for our Christmas tree hunt... and then my son wanted to drive around with his Wrangler so I did some mountain roads with a tree strapped to the top of my Jeep! LOL!

Today I did STS Meso 1 Disc 4, Chest, Shoulders and Biceps and had a great workout. My fitbit died during the workout so I have no idea about my calorie burn. I forgot to charge it last night, I have to every day now because it is old and the battery is going. Oh well. No running today. This week I will lift 3 days and do cardio 2 to 3 days depending on how I am feeling. This week I will increase my running to 16 minutes, doing interval mode like last week. I will be able to run further since I wont be doing it after my weight workouts. I am not sure what else I will do with it, probably walk or use my rowing machine. Tomorrow I have a chiro appointment so it will have to be my rest day.

Debbie, nice cardio today, your max trainer workouts sound amazing!

Belinda, I hope you have a good doctors appointment today. Way to go on disc 4 yesterday, how about those pushups! I did chest presses following along on the rep counts and still had an amazing chest workout.

Doreen, great lower body workout today! I used to love to go out and get the Christmas tree, now I have an faux one because I like to keep it up so long. My son had two Jeeps, boys love those things. I had one too, a jeep wrangler soft top when I was younger.

Diane Sue, great getting a stretch in today. I am going to start doing the STS extended stretch after lifting, it is on the dvd so why not do it! I love to stretch I just dont make time for it.

Roselyn, I hope you have a great workout today.

People are getting fed up with the government here in So Cal, I think there is going to be a revolt. :)

Have a wonderful day.

Hi,

I did SBF UB Core Circuit = 31 min plus I went for a walk.

Went to see orthopedist this morning. He wants me to get knee gel injections on both knees. If that doesn't help I need surgery on my knees. I try anything before I get surgery. He wants me to avoid deep squats/lunges. I can do baby squats. He also don't want me to walk on concrete. Not sure what I am going to do now? Maybe I buy very cushion shoes. I hate to give up my walking. He said, I can use an elliptical/or a bike. Keep everything low impact/no twisting/stair climbing. We have a lot of stairs in our house.

Jolie - there are a lot of push ups in M1, lol. Great job on D4 today.

Roselyn - nice job on D1 today.

Diane - my appointment with orthopedist went well. My son is moving to TX the end of Jan. He is also having a pod being delivered. Hope you find a house soon and everything goes well with your move. I am going through all my things now. I am not moving anything soon.

Have a great evening.

Good Evening,

My mouth is almost healed from my wisdom teeth removal and I feel like working out again so I did BeachBody 21 Day Fix Real Time WK1 D1 Total Body Cardio Fix. Today Autumn’s new workout 9 Week Control Freak was release for coaches so I purchased it.

Today I did Perfect 30 Low Impact Hiit, 31 minutes, 152 calories, heart rate 119/160, 2884 steps.
That is all I had time for. It was a busy day. Tomorrow I will take a rest day. My neck is better today, but still even doing low impact, bouncing around hurt a bit.

Debbie, actually moving to the area we would be moving would bring us closer to my grandchildren's school district and my daughter's house. That being said, I think at least my grandson will go back to being in the classroom next semester. My daughter addressed this this weekend. She is apprehensive about the virus. The middle school district my granddaughter would go to is already open. She was signed up for the first half of the school year for virtual learning. I am not sure if she will go for the second semester or go to in class. The school district she would go to is going to have a quarantine area for those children that have been exposed to covid so they do not have to miss school. They will follow specific guidelines with periodic quick testing which will be reported as to how it goes. My daughter in the medical field said they have spent a lot of time going over all of this and the kids will be fine. Her son has been in a private school this year without doing the virtual school. Step 2 is a fun workout. I always think I might stop when she says you can stop there or go on which goes to the boxing. I never have stopped there.

Doreen, that sounds like quite the workout. The tree hunt and driving around the mountain roads with the tree strapped to the top sounds like fun. At least I think it would be fun as I gather your son was driving;)

Jolie, nice work with STS. My Fitbit needs me to recharge every other day. I forget sometimes. It used to last longer Mine is only a year old though. It looks like you have your workouts planned out. With all of their hypocrisy with their officials, I can understand. I think most people are getting fed up. We have not had a big shut down. Mostly people have chosen to wear masks as there really is no mandate. I looked yesterday. Stores and restaurants have their signs up for mask wearing. Most people do it. A lot of schools have been open. Still because of fear alone there are businesses that ended up having to close down which is sad. Not all of them could withstand the first shut down. Shutting down their personal choices is terrible. It just proves they are not worried about covid spread, they are wanting to choose for their own political and power gain.

Belinda, what your orthopedist suggests sounds very difficult for your lifestyle. I am up and down the stairs all day long. That would be difficult. I can't imagine the walking on pavement. I wonder if there is any shoe that takes care of feet and knees on concrete. Can you walk on grass? Walking on something indoors is not the same as an outdoor walk. We used pods years ago and had several that we had put in storage and moved a couple at a time when we got in our home. We purchased, but made an agreement that the doctor we purchased from could stay and pay rent for a few months. It made things a lot better. We unloaded a couple at a time and had more bought. We have way less stuff now. Still could get rid of some more things.

Roxie, glad you are feeling better after the wisdom teeth removal. 9 week control freak is an interesting title.

This morning I did CL #198 - Circuit Crush and had a really good workout. This one was fun but I have to say, I like the workouts with only Cathe in them better. I know the whole idea of these workouts is to do it with the group, but I just like it when Cathe is alone. Anyways, this workout has 6 circuits and includes cardio, lower body, upper body and core. The upper body and core were pretty much worked together. Fun stuff, a bit high in intensity, but most of it was doable for me. I love how you can look at the "Sorted By time" workouts so you can get one that works with the time frame you have. I looked at the 40 minutes workouts and chose this one.

I didn't have time to jot the circuits down. Workout was 45 minutes (I stretched for 5 minutes longer, body is really tight), burned 260 calories, did 2315 steps and HR was 117/174.

Doreen - Nice workout. We have a fiber optic tree that we both love, the thing is probably over 10 years old. It's on wheels so it's easy to move out of our storage room and into the living room. LOL!! We are lazy!

Jolie - Hope your appointment went well yesterday. Your plan for the week sounds good! I will be doing my MT workouts on Mon, Wed and Fri this week. I already have a workout picked out for tomorrow. Hope you enjoyed your rest day.

Roselyn - Nice job with STS!

Belinda - So sorry to hear about your knees, OMG are you going through a lot of stuff right now. I really think you can walk, just get really cushioned shoes and limit the amount of time you walk. There is always a way, you just have to be careful. Maybe wear a knee brace when you are walking. My right knee has been bugging me again and I'm not sure why, probably the step workouts I've been doing again. Hugs to you, makes me sad when my workout friends are in pain.

Roxie - Glad to hear you rmouth is about healed. I was lucky with mine, they came right out. I still have one more I really should get out but it isn't bothering me. Sounds like you are having fun with the BB workouts, good for you!!

Diane - Well that is good about you being closer to your daughter. Our schools are all closing down again, most were open for the first semester but parents had the option for their kids to go remote. Ohio is blowing up so bad with cases right now I'm afraid our governor will put us in a lock down again. I sure hope not. Yes, Step 2 is fun, I love how she puts them together. We are lucky to have so many great workout people to follow. I remember back in the 80's all you had to choose from was Jane Fonda! And that was on a 33rpm record!! LMAO!!!

Have great workouts everyone!!
